Whilst in paphos we thought we would visit the old town after a short bus trip to it very good views looking down on the harbour area and some very good shops. Some interesting areas as well the old Turkish area and a large open a air theatre. Well worth a visit if on this area

It’s mostly under maintenance. Most of the shops are closed. Near the bus station. Good location but not too much to see. Still recommend to come for some souvenir.

The trip to the market was a waste of time. It was supposed to open at 8am but when we arrived at 10am there was no market. There was one stall selling handbags and some leather goods and that was all that was there! It looks like they are giving the area a facelift and it will look nice when it's completed but it would have been nice to know before we made the 45 minute journey that there was only one stall. When you Google the market, it doesn't say it's closed!

I loved it up here. Second cup was great for a oat latte. We also had frappe in another cafe that had a great atmosphere. Deep house music. Shops are lovely and staff not pushy to buy anything.

A truly lovely market,we visited at 11am and it was buzzing with local people and holiday makers, made to feel very welcome. Prices were really good with quality products for sale. Would recommend a visit.

The market area of the old town, is a big mix of many tourist focused souvenir shops. Most sell the same style, often cheap quality items. But if you walk around and explore you can find some wonderful little boutique stores and many with lovely hand made crafts. So finding the gems is a wonderful thing and worth the walk around. Just be aware of the opening times for the market area. There are a few spots which are just beautiful. As you will see in the photos. Food and drink places are also scattered around the area.

The shops and cafes are doing their best but unfortunately the Mayor is not helping and doing his bit. It needs more then a lick of paint to save it. It needs support and assistance to help get back on its feet again not more financial burdens. If your in the area on holiday help support them by going up there shopping cos there are some bargains to be had. Its just a shame about the empty shops and business.

Some friendly bars and nice cafes for lunch and shops with stalls set out at the front for a variety of shopping - some nice looking clothes shops and also just general souvenir stuff. Bought nice olive oil soaps and Cypriot Delight. All reasonably priced. Note that many of the new modern shops were closed on Thursdays 1:30-3:30 even though Google maps said they were open. But all the market-type stalls/shops were open. It does feel modern after it’s renovation but worth a visit.

Old town of Paphos could have been pretty but redevelopment and plenty of closed shops, half completed buildings have ruined the area. Lots of souvenir shops with some bars and restaurants but overall probably not worth visiting. The 610 bus runs from the harbour.

Maybe i cannot give a true picture of this area. End of February ,renovations on going, shops closed due to Covid, and out of season, masses of the same stuff, women's dresses and handbags. Even large amounts of cafés closed.

We were there out of season (February) so the places which were open were either traditional lace shops or cheap designer copies. Do yourself a favour and stick to the building site around the harbour, Some interesting looking buildings to photograph and a great view over the town from the bus stop.

If you are at the Pathos harbour catch a bus for the Municipal Market, old pathos town.number 610. The town is undergoing great change at the moment but will be pedestrians only soon, with lovely bars and stores and artisan workshops like "The Place".

Lovely and Relaxed Market. None of the vendors shouting at you as you walk past. Just really relaxed. Lots of shops around the market too that sell souvenirs along with hand made art and lovely little boutique shops.

We visited there in December and it was great! Not too crowded, and the weather was perfect. I love the coffee places and the nice shops. Everything there is so beautiful. It is very easy to get there by bus from the harbor and back (take the 610 line every 15 minutes)

A very touristic area. Nice place to walk around, to eat something or to drink coffee with icecream, but not for shopping.

Mainly aimed for the tourist market, most of the stalls have the usual tourist stuff, has been rejuvenated and the surroundings area out with the market it is good to walk around plenty of cafes and bars to stop at for refreshments.

Plenty of choice. In a town called Karavella so not in Paphos itself. Take number 10 bus to Karavella station from Paphos and go up elevator to floor above.

Although it doesn't look much from the outside it's a lovely place to wander. The stall holders are friendly without being pushy. Came away with two handbags, two fridge magnets and two shirts...

Very much tourist orientated but some nice stuff available. Quite a lot of clothes and jewelry as well as the usual fridge magnets and packs of olives. Can't complain really but don't go expecting a sort market for locals. The car park only takes coins and you need the exact amount.

Mostly stores selling leather goods of various lookalikes and lots of souvenirs. Did expect more of a market vibe but definitely caters to a lot of tourists in the area!

No fresh produce anymore, just clothes, and bag shops. Nice and new, but lost the old town feel for me.

Roof has gone so it's just shops in streets. There were hardly any shops open yet usually lots in January. Very quiet

Central market is in a nice bulging but there is not much inside. A few tourist shops, clothes. Cute area though come for a stroll, coffee on the hill at Neero. Nice views on the sea. The better market is the fruit market down the hill. authentic friendly vendors. Awesome greek yogurt, cheese, clementine, banana. WC down the too. Small market but friendly and happy. Right beside the bus station, don't be shy. Go right in.

At the moment (July 2022) there is no proper market. It is having a huge makeover. The smaller market is worth a look, the shops are a littke spread out through back streets, But nit worth the trip if you're wanting a few hours out. Also, apparently not open on a weekend. Although in Paphos town there ae some lovely little bars/cafes. There is a lovely friendly place with a fabulous park for the kids to play, whilst you have a bite to eat or drink. The ladies are there are really sweet. Unfortunately I can't remember the name if it 🙈.

It's the market in Paphos Old Town so if you're in the Paphos area you might as well visit. Paphos was European City of Culture in 2017 and as a result, the area around the market was redeveloped, modernising the streets. I don't know whether the area had any old-world charm prior to that, but if it did, there's little evidence of it now. If you've experienced old markets in other European towns, you might be disappointed in Paphos; this is simply a tourist market, selling souvenirs many of which have been imported. It's been a tough couple of years for tourism in Cyprus, and this market clearly relies on tourists. So it feels a bit tired and quiet. That said, we did pick up some souvenirs before walking back down to the beach.

Lovely selection of shops offering a variety of handmade products made right here in Cyprus! Nice to walk around Old Town and see lots of street art, beautiful sunset views and many traditional taverners. Different days have different opening times so try to go in the morning before siesta, some shops may not reopen after 4pm!

👍👍 Fantastic local beach. This beach is sooo nice. Great sand, crystal clear and I mean CRYSTAL clear water. Because of the breakwater the sea is really calm here. €7.50 for two sunbeds and an umbrella. Get a beer from the bar or order from the hotel. If you like snorkelling then definitely go here, s...
