Although touristic it's a great place to enjoy in Paphos, full of cafรฉs, nice shops, restaurants and the market itself. We came in the middle of the day and it was very hot and not many people, but at night time it seems one of the best places to be. Nice renovation and design fur many of the old shops and the view of the city and the sea is a bonus. Looking forward to return!

A medina feel with ginals and little shops showcasing local skills and a great opportunity to support local businesses in Paphos. A beautiful church presides over it all. Visit on first half of your holiday, not the last like us as we'll miss the music and tavernas coming alive on Saturday evening

Staying at the Leonardo Cypria Maris, Paphos, Taxi was โ‚ฌ12 and there in 10mins, buses run but you have to get 2. Right at the top of the hill, lots of little places and some really good quality stuff. As they say you get what you pay for, usual copies of the famous brands but the leather bags are of a really good quality, pure leather. Some shops will barter and some wont, no harm in asking though as in one shop we managed to get โ‚ฌ30 off a statue my son was after. Plenty of cafes and only a 15 to 20min walk down the hill to the New Kings Avenue shopping centre, expensive, we had a few sale items in the Under Armour shop which when checked online we couldn't beat the sale price. One tip go early its cooler (july) after dinner temps were higher and most shops dont have aircon, worth a visit when holidaying in paphos.

Nice area with multiple stores grouped into a market building. New part connected to old market passage. Clothing and tourist shops primarily.

Good for present shopping. You can get the bus from the harbour 610 for โ‚ฌ1.50 and walk down. Good views over the harbour. Plenty of places to eat with trees to shade you from the sun.

Lovely market in the old town of Pahos. Very traditional and all the stall holders are very welcoming . Some even offer you a cup of traditional Cypriot coffee. I highy recommend Chris and Spiroulla's gift shop

Not great, full of poor tourist tat shops all selling the same thing. Some nice views and coffee shops within a 5 minute walk

It's a tourist trap with all sorts of souvenir laden shops and stalls. Make sure to walk your way around before making any purchase as you may be able to find a better deal somewhere else. Eg a silver bracelet was offered to me for โ‚ฌ50 at one stand as a discount from 65, but a few meters further away I bought identical one for โ‚ฌ35 ๐Ÿ˜‚ worth a visit at a tavern though as they have gorgeous views on the city&the sea.

A nice little shopping area with some nice cafes, a couple of local produce shops. Worth a visit for a couple of hours and the (616?) Bus will get you there from the bus station The hop on/off tour bus also stops here.

Very lovely place, welcoming and great for shopping. Lots of choice for gifts or to treat yourself. Take some respite from the hot weather, relax, and have a cool drink or ice cream. There are lifts to take you up the steep hill from the bus stop.

Old town Paphos, very nice, many stores

Stallholders were too pushy for me. I prefer yo browse and buy, not have items given to me with no price tags and a hard sell. I wanted to buy a bag and earrings, walked away with nothing

Stopped off here on the sightseeing bus. You can also get a bus there from Paphos terminus. It would be quite a trek otherwise if you walked from Paphos town centre. There were lots of shops but thought I might have seen more older buildings to explore but to be fair I only spent an hour there. It was also quite quiet but that maybe have been the time of year.

Appreciate areabis still being 'improved' but found the market a bit too sterile and lacking the atmosphere if earlier visits pre refurb. Central courtyard looks pretty but needs a cafe serving to tables in and around courtyard yo give it function and life. Shame as the traders were as welcoming and helpful as ever.

Lovely little town. You can get good food and drink. The new market is very nice, however, there are no vegetables or fruit anymore.

This place is no longer open, after travelling her we found it was changed by local government and is not worthy of a visit. The original old town shops are still there and where nice to walk around. The local people are nice and welcoming.

This place are beautiful. Old fashioned architecture with new elements. I was here at Sunday, so I haven't seen any market. But very pleasant to walk trough this old streets alone.

From what we looked up on line we were expecting more of a craft style market. In fact it turned out to be just a load of places selling tourist tat. There were a couple of exceptions, a jewellery store in particular, but we were disappointed.

  • 2/5 Alicia W. 1 year ago on Google
Most of it is closed due to being renovated. I can imagine once itโ€™s all done will be lovely but not massively worth visiting at the moment unfortunately.

The old town of paphos Small shops and markets for unique things about paphos Some of the places are expensive so you need to compare before buying anything You can through bus there ( cheaper)

The "old" market town is surprisingly brand new buildings, but set up in such a way of an old market, ie, narrow alleyways etc. But for that, it's still quite an interesting day out with many craft-type small shops & the usual tourist tat ! Closed on Sundays & closes about 3.30 Saturday's. There's also a few good restaurants with beautiful views over the sea, this place, by the way, is on top of a hill for which I'd advise a bus or taxi to get to, otherwise, it's quite a trek from the harbour area.

Was able to find some great Olive oil in a small shop that bottled their own oil. Also found another shop that had a wonderful selection of wines, purchased 4 bottles to bring home. Topped off the afternoon in a nice outdoor beer garden.

Although looks like they have started to do up the old town centre itโ€™s only partly finished and mostly closed empty shops when we visited. I expected a thriving old town like in most Mediterranean countries but was very quiet and like a ghost town most nights ! Even Saturday night was less busy than a week day night. Paphos needs to try and attract the cruise ships as there is absolutely nothing to see at night
