Dear
ladies
and
gentlemen,
Some
time
ago,
I
bought
a
lot
of
furniture
from
this
shop
for
about
15,000
Euro.
It
seemed
to
me
quite
reliable.
But
how
wrong
I
was.
A
week
ago,
I
heard
a
clear
sound
in
one
of
the
small
cabinets.
Someone
was
gnawing
inside.
There
were
no
visible
damages
from
the
outside.
My
friends
assumed
it
was
a
parasite.
I
was
advised
to
use
chemical
solutions
to
get
rid
of
it.
But
it
didn’t
work.
He
continued
to
gnaw
the
furniture.
I
was
afraid
that
the
parasite
would
spread
to
other
objects
and
mechanically
cut
out
a
piece
of
a
cabinet
wall.
This
piece
turned
out
to
be
completely
spoiled
by
the
parasite
Anobium
punctatum
larva
(wood-boring
beetle
larva).
When
I
pulled
this
piece
out,
the
larva
was
still
alive.
See
the
photos.
In
addition,
I
noticed
that
the
bottom
of
the
cabinet
was
not
finished
with
any
varnish
at
all.
The
conclusion
is
self-evident.
Either
the
parasite
was
brought
along
with
the
furniture
from
the
manufacturer
(Vietnam),
or
the
furniture
was
so
poorly
treated
that
the
parasite
gnaws
it.
Both
options
are
equally
possible.
In
both
cases,
it
is
either
the
store
or
the
manufacturer
to
blame.
I
contacted
this
store
with
a
proposal
to
amicably
resolve
the
problem
–
either
to
repair
this
piece
of
furniture
or
to
compensate
50%
of
the
cost
of
a
new
item
for
replacement.
The
store
refused
to
do
so,
despite
the
fact
that
I
spent
so
much
money
in
their
shop.
And
it’s
not
fair.
If
you
don’t
want
to
be
in
my
position
and
if
you
don’t
want
to
face
such
a
problem
as
a
wood-boring
beetle
larva,
do
not
buy
furniture
from
Steptoes.
