One of the most beautiful places in whole Cyprus in my opinion. Maybe the beach is a bit too stoned but if you like hiking on huge rocks/ or swimming to hike ones more further in the sea, this is a place for you. There is a shop for snacks and ice cream near by, shade is also there every time by the biggest rock.

beautiful beach! clear water and pebble stones are nice to walk, a bit crowded. note that the waves are quite high next to the rocks. it's a remote beach but if you walk through the tunnel you can find a small shop and toilets and shower. accessible parking across the street.

This place was lovely! It wasn't easy to get down there, the beach was stoney and the wind had really picked up!! But it was worth it! I would visit again and would recommend going here. There is parking, but the car park can get pretty full pretty quick. There are showers for when you get back up to the car park, but you have to pay to use these and you get a pathetic amount of water for the money! I would say if you want to quickly rinse your feet, that's about all it's good for, but you do need to be quick.

There is a free parking and safe way to join the beach under the road that's great. There are many rocks up in the sea. The view is beautiful. Furthermore if you walk a little bit longer after the big rock you have sand on the beach. It's better to take place instead on the pebbles. You can also take a shower near the parking for just 0,50€

Amazing beach. It's has a store at the top with food and drinks. I suggest grabbing something before you go down. The beach is the birthplace of Aphrodite so legend says you should drink a bit of the water while you swim to gain her beauty 😉

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Aphrodite's rock where Aphrodite is thought to have been born, and it was an absolutely incredible experience. Located on the beautiful island of Cyprus, this iconic site is a must-see for anyone interested in history, mythology, or just stunning natural beauty. The rock itself is a breathtaking natural wonder, with stunning views of the surrounding coastline and crystal clear waters. It's easy to see why this spot has been revered for centuries as a place of great beauty and power. But the true highlight of my visit was learning about the legend of Aphrodite's birth. According to ancient mythology, the goddess of love and beauty was born from the foam of the sea at this very spot, and it's easy to imagine the magic and wonder of that moment as you stand at the foot of the rock. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to the rock. It's a truly fascinating and beautiful place that offers a glimpse into the rich history and mythology of Cyprus. The site is well-maintained and offers plenty of amenities for visitors, including a gift shop. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and added to the overall positive experience. All in all, it was a truly memorable and enjoyable visit that I would recommend to anyone interested in history, mythology, or just a unique and beautiful natural setting.

Beautiful beach, not so many people here in the morning. You can walk from the parking lot to the beach through a tunnel that starts at the souvenir shop. And if you cross the main road and go left down the path, you will reach the beach, which is empty and just as beautiful. And in the afternoon if you cross the main road and go left down the path, you will reach the beach, which is empty and just as beautiful.

This score of four is not for the rock itself, which is relatively underwhelming, but for the beach area as a whole. The water there is clear and there aren't too many people there. It's not a manned beach, so there are no sunbeds, loungers or umbrellas, but if you just want a beach location to set your towel down and soak up the sun in relative peace, it's a good spot. There are also amenities, like toilets and a restaurant nearby.

Impressive location, superb views, dreamy sunsets... a major turn off though, the area is not very well maintained, much better to look at it from the top road side. Once you access the beach through the road underpass, it is quite frustrating the smelly trash everywhere and bugs all around it. I do understand it is a touristic spot and people can be annoyingly inconsiderate. I still believe rules must be imposed and inspections on point to preserve such an impressive, historical and legendary spot. The shoreline is not quite cleaned neither.

Amazing nature with a lovely mythical context. Beautiful stones on the beach, nice tour of an hour or less for all ages. Accessibility may be an issue.

This was a good land mark to visit. Legend says if you swim around the rock three times you will find true love. It is a nice beach day with a kiosk not to far away but can get busy especially at sun set, a jewel in the crown of Cyprus.

Great place! There are no sunbeds and umbrellas and it is rocky. Also known as the birthplace of Aphrodite, so lots of mythology around it. Aqua shoes recommended. The parking is on the other part of the road and you should find the tunnel for your safety. Lots of tourists also.

Nice place for sunbathing and swimming. I would recommend to go to the left side at the beach instead of the right side where all the tourists are. The beach is mainly with pebbles. On the other side of the street is a large parking and a small kiosk to buy some snacks

While the beach is on a busy road, you can park up and access it through a tunnel from across the street. It's gorgeous. There's a VR thing bit that was a bit rubbish and to be honest not needed at such an incredible natural beauty spot. The sand is that strange grey stony stuff so don't expect to build sandcastles. Instead take a dip in the beautifully clear water and watch the sunset.

The beach offers awesome views of the rocks of various forms and colors, accompanied by the waves breaking the shore… We enjoyed a long walk along the coast. Good walking shoes are recommended as the beach is rather rough (stones).

I’m laughing at these 5* reviews, c’mon really, it’s a beach with stones and some large rock formations. Nothing else. It’s completely for the tourist (sadly I fell into the trap to visit this place) and I’m very sure that no Cypriot would ever visit here. I didn’t see any information boards explaining the story that it’s the birthplace of Aphrodite, nothing. I’m shocked that this place even appears on “must do in Cyprus” list. On the beach there are few rubbish bins and that’s all….oh, and “no lifeguard, swim at own risk” signs. The water is clear but COLD and only few people on a busy day ventured into the sea, and only then most were just up to their knees. There is a large dusty car park (free, thankfully) and a shop selling I don’t know what, I didn’t bother to enter. No doubt everything is expensive. The toilets and showers have to be paid for, €1….and the sewage smell was horrendous. You can access the beach by crossing the road and climbing over the barrier, or use the narrow dark tunnel under the road which you access next to the shop. I wouldn’t bother visiting, it’s not worth it. Lucky for me I was staying few minutes away, but would feel sorry for anyone who travelled long way by car to get here. NOT RECOMMENDED to visit, don’t waste your time. If it was a special place worth visiting then there would be many nice things for tourists e.g. bar, restaurant, beach facilities, and etc. There is nothing there because it’s not a special place!!

Very clean and calm water but a lot of rocks and no shade. You walk through a small tunnel to reach the sea or you cross the road and down into a path. Toilet/shower available. Souvenir shop in the parking area. Nice to visit for the sake of the legend, or make a brief stop to enjoy and carry your journey.

The rock itself is not too impressive. I found the cliffs we could see down the beach more impressive. The beach is very rocky but the water is clear and warm, at least when we came near the beginning of September. Swimming is allowed. Don’t expect to see Aphrodite. She isn’t here 😂. If you park in the parking lot there is a tunnel that goes under the road.

Part of a tour stop over. It's a rock! However the beach is lovely and could spend a day there. Plenty of parking and a nice cafe/souvenir shop. Toilets and showers available.

Aphrodite’s rock is at a very very pebbly beach the access is through a narrow tunnel under the motorway. You can park for free and climb down a few flights of stairs towards the tunnel. On the car part side you have small souvenirs store and a restaurant also bathroom and change room if you took a swim ,Enjoy:)

Beautiful place to watch the sunset and a beautiful place to swim in the sea. Car park available on opposite side of the beach/road but no charge - and then walk on the underpass which takes you to the beach, about 5 min short walk.

Very nice beach. The way from the little coffee shop to the beach it’s even more beautiful, passing through a narrow stone passage. The legend says that anyone who will bath in here will obtain eternal beauty

Stoney beach with terrific views along the coast. It claims to have a restaurant, but in reality it's a fridge with filled rolls served by people with real attitude. Picnic tables nearby if there's any available

  • 5/5 Sally C. 6 months ago on Google
Lovely little beach, there is a gift shop and little cafe . Only downside is they only have two toilets an when there are three coaches turn up you spend half your time queueing. You can swim and there are showers outside the shop. Worth a visit.

One of Cyprus most famous rocks. The area around is really stunning and you can find nice viewpoints around. The rock itself is located at a small beach, so it can be really crowded here. Entrance is free. During high season here lots of bus tours stop, so really plan your visit upfront.

The beach is pebble. The beach is accessed down the stairs and through the tunnel. It is worth visiting. It is very difficult to swim around Venus rock in the sea because there are a lot of waves and sea currents. You have to be careful.

Without mentioning anything about any legends, this is a beautiful and romantic stretch of the Mediterranean coast. We came to watch the sunset and were not disappointed. There is a parking lot (and shop) just across the street. From there, one can take a pedestrian underpass to safely cross to the beach and enjoy the views. Some people climbed up on the large rock to have a higher viewpoint of Aphrodite’s Rock and the surrounding area, but there is no official climbing path and it looked a bit dangerous to climb. There were a few other people when we were there, but not many, so it was quiet and romantic for us. We waited until it was almost completely dark before walking back to our car.

It’s a big rock right off the beach but it’s not the biggest rock. To be honest, it was a little boring, but there’s a nice gift shop with coffee & ice cream as well as bathrooms at the parking lot. Don’t go out of your way to see this.

Incredible beach for relaxation. It's not touristic. There are no sunbeds or anything. You need to go prepared with your sun umbrella, towels and water. The location has lots of waves, so get ready for a wild sea! The good news is there is a kiosk nearby and a big parking.

Such a stunning place, especially at sunset time. 100% a must see location if you are vsiting Pathos. Just incredible scenery, environment, and photographic opportunities. I'd recommend wearing good, strong and comfy shoes as the pebbles are a little hard to walk on, especially wearing ones with thin soles. There is also a cute little shop near the site, where you would park or catch the bus, which sells ice cream, drinks, snacks etc. Lastly there are shower and toilet facillities next to the shop.

Definitely worth a visit. The stone beach is breathtaking. The best for people, who like to find some beautiful stones. The rock itself is beautiful and you can imagine how Aphrodite walked out of the sea right onto this beautiful beach.

The snorkeling was very good you couldn't even see your hands in front of you. And better signs would be more beneficial as its not clear Which rock it is. The beach is pebble beach and as you go into the water you do tend to sink in a little so only for stronger swimmers I would suggest.

  • 5/5 Mariana K. 1 year ago on Google
The beach is great! There is a parking place across the street with a little shopping and showers (you have to pay the shower). To reach the beach you go through an underground tunnel - they recommend not crossing the street by foot. The beach was not crowded even on a high season. And it is very good for swimming. Good to go with your partner, with kids or even alone.

As Aphrodite was the goddess of beauty so does this beach is well deservingly named after her. A place in which the sea gives way to an exquisite view, a beach where you may very well get a tan but also sit on any rock and contemplate on the beauty of the sea and the surrounding area. I highly recommend this place but, a kind reminder, the holes within the beautiful rocks are not garbage cans, please clean up behind you!

  • 5/5 Koleta G. 1 year ago on Google
I've been here few times and each time I'm amazed with how beautiful this place is. Definitely one of the most amazing places in Cyprus and worth seeing. I can spend here all day just relaxing.

  • 4/5 Žan V. 1 year ago on Google
I wouldn't say it's anything special but it do be pretty. I went in April so there were not a lot of people on the beach and yea i enjoyed it. But the rocks aren't anything special but still i think it's worth a visit. When you walk on the beach you feel like Aphrodite (but it must be empty).

  • 3/5 Daniel 1 year ago on Google
Was good to see but nothing special. If you want to climb up the front rock we suggest you to have proper shoes. Otherwise it could happen what we just saw that someone with slippers slipped and tripped and fall down.
