Today was my first visit to Defying Gravitea… I recently became GF & DF and it’s been a real challenge finding places that I can eat without needing to modify everything. I’m a huge foodie so my new lifestyle has not allowed me to have many of the foods I love. My mom & I had lunch at the very cute cafe & both dishes were delicious! The staff was so friendly & the venue is very cute. I got a chocolate cupcake & a slice of lemon loaf to go & let me just say I almost shed a tear when I took a bite… I have really struggled to find anything sweet that actually tastes good… they both were AMAZING! I am truly shocked at how good they both are. I am relieved that I’ve finally found a place that I can go to and know that I am going to find options that I can actually enjoy.

If you haven’t tried Gina’s baked goods, you’re definitely missing out! The banana bread AB-J sandwiches are so good!! Can’t wait to try the other stuff on the menu, but all I can say is that everything has been excellent so far. I also love how spacious her shop is unlike other bakeries. Very welcoming and super clean!

So grateful to have a gluten free cafe open up in this area! PROS: - their chicken salad and brioche is SO good! - the staff is very friendly and the owner is nice - their desserts are delicious, especially; 🍞 lemon loaf 🍪 chocolate cookies 🧁 chocolate muffins & cupcakes - They also have an open mic which gets a good turn out. A really nice way to bring the community together. —- CONS: - the decor is.. strange. Feels like a bunch of random finds from Marshalls. The space is big. Would have been beautiful to get a professional designer. - the coffee and tea are really bad. I’ve tried ordering different drinks each time but they’re always watery and not blended well. Such a bummer cause it would be great to have a place in the area that can make a delicious latte or even a chai. Until then, will have to travel to Jackie Smalls or Boonton Coffee for a good latte. — Overall, glad this place is in the neighborhood and looking forward to see how they grow.

I heard great reviews from friends about Defying Gravitea and it absolutely lived up to the hype! A very friendly atmosphere with tons of incredible gluten free and dairy free options on the menu. Highly recommend the Defying Gravitea Chicken Salad on a Brioche Roll. Keep up the great work!

let me begin by saying I would come back and give it another try. Really good coffee!. Ordered chicken salad… Good chicken salad, but came over spinach of which almost half of the leaves look like they should’ve been not used. Hope next time the spinach will be very fresh. And next time I’ll be less surprised to spend an extra $.55 for a tablespoon of half-and-half in my coffee! really terrific decor… Very inviting! with all these excellent reviews, will come back again!

Click your heels 3 times and you feel like you’re at home. The food, the atmosphere and the warm friendly face are more than ever imagined. My entire family has stomach issues and often find ourselves not feeling well after eating at other restaurants. We know when we leave Defying Gravitea we will have no issues!!! Check it out. It’s out of this world

Came to Defying Gravitea for lunch and I will 100% be returning! Had the chicken salad over greens and then tried two different scones. Everything was delicious!! The scones were SO GOOD I can't wait to go back and try the other flavors. The atmosphere is so cute and cozy and the staff was wonderful. Can't wait to taste the rest of the menu!

Went to a baby shower where it was catered by Defying Gravitea—The food and scones were so good I needed to go try more in person. Had such a lovely lunch! The vibe is adorable and cozy. The owner and staff are so personable and welcoming. To top it off the food and sweets are just beyond delish! Highly recommend stopping in it won’t disappoint!! Ps. As someone with severe food allergies, eating here was stress free due to their high quality ingredients made in house!

I have been gluten free for 18 years. This is the best bread I have had. The owner is very kind and am grateful there is a safe place to eat in the area with great food!!

Went here for brunch a month ago and everything was so good! I had the French toast and my boyfriend had the crepes and we were so impressed. We got a bunch of baked goods to go and the owner was super helpful with suggestions. Went again yesterday and got a pumpkin Whoopie pie which was also delicious! Can’t wait to come back!

The food is amazing. When I moved to the area I was a little disappointed by the lack of healthy takeout options. This place has really made up for that! My daughter also has many food allergies including wheat so it's a relief to have an option I can trust if I can't cook for her! The owner has made cakes for us for all our special occasions and no one can tell it's gluten free. Anyone will enjoy their food and baked goods even if you eat gluten.

The food here is amazing! Every baked good is the best gluten and dairy free options I have ever had! Even my spouse who is not gluten free loves their stuff !!

yum. yum. yummy. as someone who has been gluten-intolerant for many years and recently found out that they are allergic to wheat, I cannot sing my praises loud enough for this place! from fresh-baked treats (lemon loaf and brownies, beyond and I'm not a sweets person) to the brioche buns to the custom cakes and pies (if you want something, just ask!) everything is great, freshly made in-house and does not leave you feeling like you wanted (or even expected more) must haves: Defying Gravitea chicken salad sammie, breakfast crepe, any type of coffee with the pistachio syrup, lemon loaf, rise +grind tea... I could go on and on awesome event space (I've been to two so far!) and the team is amazing. I've known the owner Gina for a few years and she has done custom cakes and cupcakes for me for my birthday as well as a special order of gf brioche buns for a lobster roll party - she will honestly go above and beyond to give you what you want.
