I originally signed up for a class at Rollstar Jiu-Jitsu last summer. I went into the school a bit nervous that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was not a sport that I should try attempting as this was my first real attempt at a combat sport. Instead, I received much encouragement, compassion, mentorship, and love from the teachers and students at Rollstar Jiu-Jitsu. Coach Fred has been an excellent guide in my Jiu-Jitsu journey and has continued to support me and monitor my progress, showing me that despite not seeing it, I am in fact making progress. Professor Diego is also nothing but encouraging always pushing you to try your hardest, do your best, work smart, and most importantly, not give up in the face of adversity. The brotherhood I experienced here amongst the other students has also been a major component of why I have continued training three times a week. I am always greeted by an amazing group of guys who have become like older brothers to me. I would say starting BJJ at this school has been one of the best decisions I have made and I would highly encourage anybody to stop in and give it a try by taking a trial class. It may be very far out of your comfort zone, but it's those activities that really push you into becoming a better person the most.

My two sons loved the summer camp. It is run exceptionally well and a great value. My youngest trained for his first competition at this school and enjoys the classes a lot. Coaches are great! There are now two locations: Hackensack and Union City. Hackensack has a bigger location now not too far from the original address!

Great BJJ academy for all levels. Flexible schedules accommodating adults with day and evening classes. Wide mat space, 3 black belt instructors. Competition training for both adults and children. Multiple seminars per year lead by renowned professional coaches. What more than that could you ask for if you are serious about Jujitsu!

Awesome instructors. A great atmosphere and environment to learn the art and gain quality experience. The style of teaching is very easy to follow and their drills and exercises are very effective. I highly recommend their gym for people of all skill levels.

I needed to get some training in while on a trip to NY/NJ and was incredibly lucky to have these group of guys take me in. The mats were clean, there was a welcoming environment, and the black belt, Diego made sure I was taken care of. TOUGH rolls out of these guys and I even learned some things on the way out. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a challenge, and a group of guys that take BJJ seriously.

Coach Diego and Hernan provide a safe, fun, atmosphere to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It is beginner friendly and offers multiple classes for different age groups. This place really becomes a second home to you and members treat each other with respect like a family.

Awesome bbj dojo. My boy tried couple different places and wasn't interested but after he tried ROLLSTAR we knew from the first try this is it. He is doing great. Couch Diego making it fun for the small kids that they want to learn. Highly recommend ROLLSTAR.

Have yet to see an Academy with such proficiency in professional coaches and energy to make you do better in all aspects. Physical and mental state encouraged daily with a great staff and peers. Very patient with children of all ages and truly understanding of their needs. Glad I have my children and myself for the last few months we have changed for the better. Thanks Rollstar team!

My son loves this school; as do I. Coach Diego, Coach Fred, Professor Luis and Professor Omar are all amazing instructors. They take their time with the students and ensure they are understanding the concepts of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. My son previously came from a school that did the opposite of this. When he started at Rollstar I could see the change and enthusiasm build to go to class. The school has a very familial environment. Everyone makes you feel like your family. The workout is good and they do a lot to make it fun for the children while they learn BJJ techniques. Don’t pass on this opportunity to learn from people that really love the art and instill that love in the students.

Diego is doing such a great job at rollstar. Rollstar is one of the best gyms I have been to in the Bergen county area. Why? Simply this: rollstar is open to training with everyone regardless of affiliation, pursuit of knowledge is evident and a core mantra. They know I train at a different gym but always welcome me with open arms. Best gym around

Awesome coaches and staff, friendly nice people, clean facility with variety of classes. Great place to start training especially for women! I was never interested in trying BJJ but I loved it once I tried it. It’s a great workout, feel strong, plus you learn self defense which is a plus! Recommended (:

Rollstar BJJ is a quality academy if you want to learn self defense and the art of martial arts. All of the instructors are of high quality and are very attentive to helping their students progress. Not only that, the academy is very community based since it is a tight knit group with great people who want to help you get better. Rollstar BJJ is a wonderful environment for kids and adults. Coach Diego is a wonderful coach who teaches kids not only BJJ moves but life skills. He is extremely patient and kind. The new facility also has great amenities. There is a play room for infants and toddlers and a study room for kids to finish up their homework before or after class. If you are interested in being in a wholesome and fun environment that allows you to grow in your personal development or for the enrichment of your children, then Rollstar is the place for you.
