We had a few issues like being ignored at reception, not being offered water when our taxi transfer arrived. But these can be explained by general bad service in Catalonia and would be hard to fix so I’d like to give some time to what I hope will be useful feedback on the breakfast: We were attracted to this hotel because it is “eco” and the food is organic and local. But at breakfast there were zero vegetables! There were 3 hot items - bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs. There were pastries and (mainly white) breads, cereals (mostly with sugar), some pineapple and watermelon (local? Organic? 😂) that’s it. You can order fried egg or omelette. Nothing green or fresh anywhere. We had breakfast one day and decided to fast the other! Now we feel like we need a detox and are looking forward to our healthy food at home! When people hear 100% organic, I think many would also imagine “healthy” which is not bacon and white wheat flour. If we stayed for a week I don’t know what we would have done. Seems like a simple fix and is not much to ask for.

A usual and necessary stay at the beginning of my vacations. Love all about Mas Salagros, a complete eco-experience which gets better every year. Rooms are spacious and with private garden. Staff at front office is very friendly and helpful. The 3 restaurants make this EcoResort unique, all 3 restaurants are 100% Eco. Restaurant 1497 is a fine dining restaurant in which menus are made with most professionalism and creativity. Cibus offers products of the highest quality; healthy and nutritious and GastroWineBar is a great ambience for Eco-Tapas. The Wellness, is out of this planet, absolutely fantastic! In general a great place to relax and do it in a healthy and green environment.

Spent 400.50 Euro total with food and services for one night. Very pricey comparing the supprising poor quality and claimed 5 star rating... Allot of false advertising in the pictures. Note most the Google ratings are employees or "local guides". Landscape: Bordering the countryside of Girona, the countryside displays beautiful surroundings of sprawling mountains mountainscapes and close fast moving marine clouds. The scenery was pleasant however you can not help but to hear the lawnmowers and chainsaws rumble over the birds and trees. The rooms: There was surface mold in the bathroom under the towels, the A/C did not function and it smelt musty when running. We were stuffy, sticky, and congested by morning. The wardrobe was warped and did not close properly, the matrace was comprised of 2 twin semi-firm boxsprings, and the headboard to the bed was an old door with flaking paint and splintered wood.. the paint in the bathrooms was spattered on the tiles from the last maintenance person. It reminiscent of an EconoLodge trucker motel. The pool: One would assume common courtesy would be at the height of a 5 star hotel for its guests. From morning to afternoon, 2 gardeners worked along the poolside with lawn mowers and weed wackers so we skipped the swimming pool. The entire entrance was scattered in grass and dirt, with its debries carried by the wind into the swimming pool. A few of the poolside visitors were noticeably upset, including guests at the above restaurant. Cibus restaurant: The breakfast buffet was meger, compared to most hotels in Spain. Scrambled eggs, oven and pam sprayed bacon, and sausage. The bacon was oily and not crispy. Some cereal and select fruit tray mostly unripened and bland to taste. something you would expect from a motel or "continental" breakfast. The lunch was mediocre and lacked attention to detail, however and supprisingly the Paella was on of the best I've tasted in Spain. 120Euro for lunch. But, the music kills the ambianance. One minute Jaz, another vulgar rap, the next willy wonka.. It was difficult to appreciate. Overall, Im shocked who rated this place a 5 star hotel.. By far an obscene lackluster against the international standards of any real 5 star rating. I hope this review can help guests and the hotel make an educated decision of their values.

This is exactly what we need more in this world. Sustainable organic hotels. The hotel is just beautiful. The bedroom was big and the mattress is 7 star. Very seldom to sleep in a mattress like yours. The spa is definitely recommended to visit and the best of all is the amazing restaurant. This is a real master chef and everything organic. Staff super friendly and competent. Also speaking perfectly english. See you definitely again.

A nice place with a great ancient bath. However, although they say on the website it’s 20mins to Barcelona city centre more like 1 hour and 60 euros each way! Also Barcelona airport is 1.5hrs away not 40mins away and 80 euros each way! Food choices/ taste and cleaning of rooms fairly average

Great location other than this Careful if you book the spa with less than 48 hours. They don’t tell you but they will charge you no matter what…the quality of the food wasn’t amazing for what can rightfully be expected out of a 5* hotel Ps: the whole point is you do not tell clients of the policy before they book. It’s easy to say after: it’s the policy sorry

We had a very nice stay here a few weeks ago. Both the hotel facilities and the spa (Aire) were great, and the staff were very helpful and friendly — especially Santi who gave us recommendations for the area and told us more about the history of the hotel. :) I especially enjoyed the park-like surroundings with a lot of nature. We've been several times in Vallromanes, but we're definitely coming back to Mas Salagros for our next stay.

I was there this week, and let me stay by telling you how PEACEFULL the resort is. I love the eco concept, and it was amazing to have explanations about how things work there. The room I had was facing the pool and the trees. It was huge, and the bed was really comfy. I had wonderful dinners both at the gastronomic and classic restaurants. And don’t forget to swing by the spa, the atmosphere there is to die for!

The kids club was a huge disappointment. Children can just open the door and leave it whenever they want. So my son did that, without my knowledge, and was running around near the pool, when I found him. No one contacted me to say he'd left, and no one contacted me to say he'd left his bag behind. We were there in July, at a weekend, and yet no activities were organised within the club, and there very few toys for free play. Hence my son really didn't want to go back after one session, so I had an exhausting week finding other things to entertain him instead. I'd expect staff to take responsibility for the children in their care, and after that experience, I couldn't trust them to do that. Plus the rooms aren't family friendly - the bathroom floors are v slippery, the basin is too high to reach without a stool (not provided), it's not clear where to put dirty nappies or leftover food. There are steps up to some of the rooms, so extra effort with a pram. There is nowhere to dry swimming kit. Plus, ants - in the shower,on the beds, and by the end of our stay, in the suitcases. Look elsewhere for a family hotel.

Our wedding night at Mas Salagros was a total letdown, prompting me to write this review. It's now a humorous story in conversations, but it was a frustrating experience then. The room was uncomfortably warm, and the hotel's advice when I mentioned the AC was not working was to "open the window" ... comical for a supposed 5-star establishment. Breakfast in cardboard boxes was disappointing, with meager portions that didn't match the room rate. The only redeeming feature was the excellent "menu degustación." The Suite Ginesta, recommended for privacy, was anything but, with constant foot traffic outside in the garden. I rate the experience 1 out of 10 and discourage friends from staying there. Adding to the disappointment, a friend's booking was abruptly canceled by Mas Salagros a week before their wedding, further highlighting the hotel's unreliability.

This eco hotel is situated in the mountains. The rooms are small but very clean. The rooms has huge tab. Everything is organic and eco friendly. Very good bio breakfast. Kind stuff.

We stayed 1 night to celebrate my husband's birthday and it was just perfect. The room is beautiful and spacious. The service was very pleasant and they even surprised us with a bottle of cava on the house for the celebration. The restaurant was wonderful. Highly recommended

Because the five stars hotel is a bit misleading according to us we are giving the 3 star rating here. Not quite a five stars hotel per the international standards. The “EcoResort” theme is often put forward as a reason for not having some services like for example not being able to order food or drinks by the pool (because it wouldn’t be eco friendly to have plastic cups ans plates). The food is generally very good thanks to the excellent chef. There is no plenty of choice but the meals are tasty. The breakfast buffet could offer more things though. In terms of rooms, except the suites, the other rooms are generally way too small per the 5* standards and some of them could definitely be modernised. There is a small kids club with team members speaking only Spanish or English. The swimming pools are a bit disappointing, there is one for adults only which is quite old and doesn’t offer much space. The main one has only one depth so not at all adapted for small kids which is very weird for a kids friendly resort. Also the sun beds and umbrellas in plastic (Strange as not consistent with the eco friendly theme) feel very cheap and are not something you’d expect to see in a 5* hotel. At last, the nearby forest is apparently closed every summer due to the risks of fire which reduces the number of possible activities. Unfortunately we didn’t have a chance to go the spa and gastronomic restaurant which seem very good. We wished a solution was offered to us to take care of our young kids so that we can try them…

Usually I don't leave reviews of my bookings, but this time I feel compelled to do so, because of the absolutely world-class level of service I experienced at Mas Salagros. Upon arrival, my partner and I were disturbed by the whistling sound emitted by the animal deterrent. When we informed the hotel staff of this, they turned off the deterrents all over the htoel for our entire week-long stay. It may be a small thing, but I believe that such small gestures separate special places from simply very good ones. We will definitely visit again 🙂
