Me and my friend went to this museum on a whim and we ended up loving it! The place was filled with so many intricate little experiments, fun for both kids and adults. As a scientist myself, seeing this museum made me so happy, as it teaches kids about science in a fun way and is exciting to see the next potential scientists. We also weren't expecting an indoor rainforest. It really took us by surprise because we only saw fishes on the glass window down below, but we look up and see tree's as well! We also went to watch the planetarium, the ticket price was affordable and like the museum, it's fun for both kids and adults. We were given an audio guide in English so and that helped us understand what was happening. The audio guide can also be found in other languages, I don't remember how many but from memory there was French and Italian, but also Spanish for those who're hard of hearing. Booking tickets online may deter tourists because the website to book museum tickets is only in Spanish, but we didn't have much trouble. Also we weren't able to buy the planetarium tickets online and were under the impression it was sold out, but were able to buy some tickets through the reception counter. If we had more time, we'd have come to the museum again to try out all of the mini experiments.

Wonderful place! So much too see and the exposition, with the theme 'sun', was stunning. I can recommend that place for everyone who is interested in science. It's also very nice for young and old. You can do very many interactive things. I'd love to give that place 10 stars. It was one of the best experiences in a museum I have ever had.

The best science museum i have ever visited. A combination of science, history, geography, nature and art with excellent interactive samples shown, all logically connected together. Everything is in a very good condition. It was interesting to check and touch, press buttons, see how physical laws work. The most interesting thing i was really impressed by was the nature part with giant trees, which grow in water, with big and small fish swimming together below, with birds flying between the branches of the trees above, with interesting animals walking on the ground around, with a large termite mound under the ground you may walk by and peep how they live. Kids also liked interactive part when they could play with robots/computer making some tasks. It's necessary to come there from the morning as 4 hours isn't enough to check all. We will definitely come again! Additional thanks to the museum staff for giving free tickets to Ukrainian refugees. Your attention and attitude supports us in this not easy time. Pray for Ukraine!

The museum has very interesting history and inventions. There’s so much to learn about, from the evolution of the earth to the evolution of the human. I highly recommend coming to see this museum even if you’re not a science fanatic. After few hours exploring the museum we went to the cafeteria which at the museum, you don’t have to fully exit the place. Prices are convenient, I got a cup of tea with milk, 2 sandwiches for approximately 6€. The cafeteria is very clean and has outlets to charge your phone.

This is one of the best science centres I've ever visited, and I've been to several. My kids had a blast, and I was really surprised that they were admitted for free. My entrance of €6 felt like a steal. We didn't participate in any of the activities, but saw a show at the Planetarium which my kids liked (shows and activities cost extra but are not expensive). Highlights were the interactive exhibits and the indoor rain forest exhibit.

Massively underrated!! For only 6€ you can easily spend half a day here. There are so many interesting creatures, fossils, and lots and lots of science experiments. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Barcelona!

One of the most incredible museums I’ve ever been to! An absolutely amazing experience for people of every age. So many interesting exhibits, interactive features and an actual rainforest ecosystem which was awesome! I would recommend it to anyone visiting Barcelona, it’s definitely worth it? oh the entrance is just €6, which is great!! Don’t miss out on this incredible museum, trust me

This museum was really great! I am an adult and visited on my own, and I had a great time. A lot of the museum is interactive, which makes people think it's only for children, but interacting with physics is a great way for adults to learn too, and it's fun for all ages! The regular exhibits were nice, especially all of the interactive physics demos on the bottom floor. I also really liked both temporary exhibits, about mirrors and fossils found in caves near Barcelona. The price is very affordable, which is super nice! All signs and explanations are written in Catalan, Spanish, and English. Some of the exhibits also had French.

I took my son to experience the atmosphere . It was a long walk from Barcelona bus touristic stop point, but it is definitely worth it. 6 euros entry fee for adults and none for students. There are different scientific shows most of which are interactive. Rain forest was also marvelous. Highly recomended.

Excellent science and natural history museum with many hands-on exhibits for kids to explore. The museum is also beautifully designed. If you are in Barcelona and looking for a great excursion with your children, put this on your list! I had to drag my children out after many hours. They loved the swamp/rainforest, too! Just outside the city center and you can easily take the train then walk about 10 minutes.

I’ve been to many Science and Nature museums around the World, but this one exceeded my expectations. The building itself is a piece of engineering art, the spaces are beautiful and welcoming. There are dozens of interactive installations that demonstrate various laws of physics in a very accessible and attractive way. There are spaces for hands-on experiments for kids, nice planetarium and fabulous tropical hall with real tropical climate. My teenage kids spent 3 hours wondering around without touching their phones, except for making pictures and videos. The admission fees are symbolic.

(Translated by Google) Barcelona Science Museum, general admission costs € 6 and now in Covid times you can buy online and see the availability according to the schedule. It has an exhibition area that is changing and the fixed exhibition that is also being renewed and improved. They have many interactive areas and explanations in Catalan, Spanish and English. Now with Covid you cannot touch anything but there are museum workers who are in charge of teaching and explaining how some of the facilities / experiments work. Perfect to go with children but also to go adults, you will surely go out learning new things. The Flooded Forest Zone is still spectacular, they recreate the Amazon, even when it rains and the weather. There is a cafeteria that can be accessed before entering and leaving and vending machines with food and coffee. Lots of gel stalls for cleaning hands around the museum. Highly recommended, although I recommend checking the web before when there are fewer people.

This is a truly wonderful place to bring children. The vast space has been devoted solely to science and the explanation of various experiments and natural laws. Cosmo also has its own planetarium, as well as a picnic area and numerous workshops and playrooms for children of different ages. This is definitely one of the best places in barcelona🖖🏼

a science museum in which there is a small forest with the possibility to see some animals. It is also definitely interesting for children, you will find various activities related to the theories and principles of physics. Educational visit. Tickets can be purchased online for 6 € but you do not have the opportunity to visit the planetarium, a creative room (which is really only for children to have fun), you have to buy these other options and therefore the ticket price is more expensive. Very nice!

Great museum for a cheap day out. Only €6 entry for each adult and hours of interactive fun for little one's. Particularly enjoyed the science sections on level -5. Cafeteria was also decent with a good selection of boccadillos, pasta and drinks.

Fantastic science museum. Modern and plenty to do, see and experiment with. Entry is relatively cheap but you can pay for extras like the Planetarium. Good cafe inside for when you need a break. Suggest planning for at least 3 hours as there is so much to do.

Probably the best museum I've been to in Barcelona. Really informative, but not in a dry way. The aquarium is great too. It's got a Planetarium as well, You can easily spend a whole day in there. The café and restaurant are good value for money and tasty food. A must see venue if you visit the city.

We are on holiday from England, and wanted to venture outside from the centre of Barcelona. It’s a brilliant place to visit with children. So many hands on activities. You can bring your own lunch, or visit the cafe. The museum seems to be on 5 floors, but really there is only one floor with activities to do, as the other floors have minimal things posted around them. You will need to prebook the shows in advance which are on the other two floors. Plenty of space outside to eat lunch, but does get busy with school groups early. We took the metro and walked 15 minutes either side to get here.

Crazy how good this museum is!!! Without exaggeration the best museum I've ever visited in my entire life. Tons of physical effects and experiments also suitable for kids. Lovely simple and still fascinating. Huge aquarium with really big fish. A wonderful tropical forest with birds above the aquarium. A planetarium and tons of tons more. The vast area outside is beautiful to take a stroll and enjoy the view over Barcelona. Of course you will also find experiments playful integrated in the garden. If you combine all these stunning facts with the absolutly incredible price (kids free, adults 6€), this is a must visit!

€6 for a ticket. Very reasonable. I could have easily spent 6 hours in that museum absolutely fascinated by science and I never likes science as a subject in school. Very children friendly. My highlight of my Barcelona trip.

Waited around 20 minutes to get in, no biggie. Exibits were pretty cool but the section about the sun was only in Catalan, Spanish and I think French so I had to use google translate to immerse myself which is a slight inconvenience but gets boring after a while. Evolution and underwater forest were pretty cool.

It's a fantastic place. Ticket office was somewhat crowded but the staff members (who were very friendly and helpful!) were working efficiently and we were able to enter the museum shortly after getting inside. Be ready to spend around 4 hours there, it's huge!

One of my Favorite museums in Barcelona! You must go. It is huge! With a lot of interactions and simple explanations about science, from the humanity evolution to the cosmos. Also have a planetarium and an immersive swamp that is amazing. A lot to learn for all ages! A recommend to reserve a few hours to see all, about 4-5 H to see all with calm.

Having lived in Barcelona for some years now , I shouldn't have waited this long to visit the place. Definitely worth visiting if you are in the city - perhaps you can choose it to the aquarium if you have to choose between.

Way better than all of those photos. So many activities for kids - we spent 5 hours with my 2.5 year old son but still couldn’t do all the rooms. Very interesting things. Open buffet food offered many vegetarian options plus a salad bar. And it only costs 13€. Also the best gifts shop I have ever seen!

I loved it! The exhibits are interactive so you can make something that seems completely out of your reach to understand, understandable too you. Going to the Cosmocaixa during COVID times was better than I thought it would be. My son had gone on a school field trip and was excited to take us back to explore it with him. Although a lot of the exhibits were 'hands off!" because of safety concerns, we were able to enjoy so many other displays, videos, animals and get to play the memory game against a robot with the assistance of an employee. There was definitely enough to keep us occupied and content! We plan to return when we can touch everything else!

They are well set up with Covid-19 protocols. One direction, masks required, hand sanitizer, etc. It is well done and like many science museums we have seen. I was fascinated by the language tree, which I still think about weeks later. One of the best features is the rain forest they have created, complete with an amazing variety of live fish. The outside courtyard/park is well-maintained and has a wonderful view.

One of the best museum in Barcelona, and probably one of the best I did so far! The exhibitions are well prepared, you have explanations in 4 languages, some educators are walking through the installations to interact with you and explain some scientific principles. If you are a Caixa customer, the entrance is free, otherwise it is only 6 euros to enter. You will learn about the Big Bang and the creation of the planets, the gravity, the evolution, health and human body, nature... They even recreated a mangrove forest where birds, turtles and fishes are living. I will definitely come back. Congratulations to the team and thank you!

While full of interesting exhibits, most of which have English language descriptions included, due to Covid-19 you are not allowed to personally work any of the scientific displays that require interaction. You must seek the assistance of a "mediator" who works there (like a docent) to perform the function. It cost us 18 Euros for three adults and took us about 2 1/2 to 3 hours to go through the museum. It was a 20 minute walk from the nearest metro station (uphill).

I spent here an amazing day with my kids. The museum is absolutely fantastic, you can experience a lot of things first hand the place has also a great cafè and restaurant where you can eat good food at great prices. 5 stars are not enough for how incredible this place is and how good is the staff who runs it!

It is my second visit to this museum. Never disappoints. Lots of activities and experiences for adults and children and with very diverse content... Sciences, universe, ecosystem. At the moment there is a temporary exhibition of 3D printing that is also worth a visit.

This is a truly wonderful place to bring children. The vast space has been devoted solely to science and the explanation of various experiments and natural laws. Cosmo also has its own planetarium, as well as a picnic area and numerous workshops and playrooms for children of different ages. This is definitely one of the best places in barcelona 🔝🔬

Very cool science museum! It's huge and everything is interactive so make sure to have enough time to see everything! At the door they said they normally recommend two hours but I definitely think you need more time :)

I think this might be the most incredible science museum I've ever been in. We started on the bottom floor (-5) and spent 3 hours looking at all the exhibits, most hands on, in the areas of physics, biology/microbiology, evolution and the human body. Also an aquarium on that floor and geology exhibit. And ok, I have to say, the 3D printing exhibit was absolutely fascinating. I have had so many questions about 3D printing that were easily answered here. It's truly unbelievable! There was a young man on staff that would come tell us about some of the exhibits from time to time in English. By the time we headed up ro the next floor, there was an announcement saying the museum was closing in 15 minutes. I don't know what else there was to do on the other floors but we wanted to look in the gift shop. However, it closed 45 minutes earlier. Anyway, definitely a great visit and we'll be back when we move here for a semester!

Interesting place with a lot of experiments and information. The Rainforest is amazing Unfortunately a lot of the attractions have to be paid separately.

I have seen some science museums: like Deutsches museum in Munich, Klimahaus Bremerhaven, Kobenhaven . This one is really nice. Especially for children. A lot of interactive experience: physics , biology, Great.

Fun, and very activity centric. The planetarium only had a few viewings per day, so it's worth checking in advance if you want to go. We absolutely loved the rainforest section!

It’s a really good place to enjoy as a couple or a family and especially for kids. So far it’s the best science, nature, geography and history museum with a lot interactive samples shown. Proper real sensorial experience in one place.

6 euro per person to get into this incredible science museum. Lots of evolution, maths, physics. You need to buy UPFRONT extra tickets for planetarium and other activities which start at fixed hours, few times per day only. 2-3 hours can be spent here. Metro drops you 15 minutes near this one.

Exceptional science museum. The architecture is stunning, the flooded forest is something I have never seen integrated into a building. We didn’t make it through the whole exhibition in 2 hours. You can probably spend a whole day there. Entry fee is very cheap for what you get.

Amazing museum and good value at about £5 each for over 12's. The rain forest is well worth it, and just sitting and watching the fish was mesmerising! On busy days (e.g. when it rains) it be worth booking online (use Google Chrome and it will auto translate) as you will save massive queues and long waits for an entrance timeslot. It is well out of the city, about a 25 minute taxi ride but there is also a bus stop right outside that goes to and from the city centre.

Very nice place for kids and also adults. Looks like a science fair with an indoor jungle. Really educational and entertaining. Nice collection of Amazon fishes and some reptiles. There are also some temporary exhibitions and activities for the kids that you need to enroll previously. Car parking is close by (in the other side of the street) and also you could park in the streets surrounding it. Use the parking meter or the municipality app for paying.

The best science museum I have ever seen in my life. It contains a lot of content. They have created an excellent science museum that should be visited not only by children but also by adults. There is a section about Nikola Tesla when we visited. I was particularly impressed with this episode. You have the opportunity to learn about the life of Nikola Tesla. At the same time, we had the chance to experience his inventions. In other parts, you have the chance to experience different fields of science interactively. At the same time, there is a small forest and animals in it. On the outside, there is a place for interactive experiences related to meteorology. This museum is also available in the cade and restaurant where you can snack and eat. Definitely, an amazing museum that you must experience.

This is a great science city for all ages of people. It has practical experiments to implement the knowledge you learn in classroom. Too many fun activities. The entire place will take 2 hours approximately to finish the tour. There is an excellent rainforest at the bottom floor with multiple flora and fauna.

This is a must see spot in Barcelona if you got kids or if you are into science. If you take your kids here they will be entertained for hours at a time. There are expositions related to the Sun, the universe, planet Earth, animals, physics and lots more. Also there is a huge mini Amazonian forest with live animals and a micro climate just like in the Amazonian forest. There are 5 levels, but on some of them you won't find stuff all the time, there are scheduled expositions. First level is the greatest one by far. Kids are absolutely blown away what they find here.

Lovely place! If you have a chance, come on a weekday morning, otherwise there’s a lot of people and a lot of children. Not only a great museum, but a great location to enjoy the view and a coffee. I go there when I’m feeling down and it always cheers me up:)

Great place to visit for a day outside the city to get away from the hustle and bustle. Entry is only €6 for an adult and for the amount of things you get to see and do there, it’s amazing value for money. We loved testing out all the scientific attractions and couldn’t believe how incredible the indoor rainforest was. The fish living in there looked prehistoric and it’s rare to be able to experience them living amongst the mangroves with other animals such as various species of bird, and they even had a Capybara. Highly recommend to individuals, couples and families for something different to do for the day!

  • 5/5 Simon W. 1 year ago on Google
Pretty hard to beat in terms of value! We spent over 2 hours and half in this lovely museum. It's quite complete and covers a big range of topics, from physics of the universe to biology for instance. My kids loved it and so did I. There is plenty to experience and I cannot recommend more for the price (6€ for 1 adult as my kids were free!)

If you're seeking a refreshing escape from the city's chaos, this place is a fantastic destination for a day trip. With an affordable entry fee of only €6 for adults, it offers an incredible array of activities and sights that make it truly excellent value for money. Exploring the scientific attractions was an absolute delight, and we were astounded by the sheer beauty of the indoor rainforest. The fish residing there seemed like relics from a different era, and the opportunity to witness them coexisting with various bird species amidst the mangroves was truly rare and captivating. As an added bonus, we even had the pleasure of meeting Tinka, the adorable Capybara. I highly recommend this place as an extraordinary and unconventional day out!

We went there to see the temporary pixar cinema exhibition but the museum has a lot more to offer than these temporary exhibitions. We immensely enjoyed our time there. My favourite thing was the mind ball activity, do try it if you get a chance. To have an idea of what the museum has to offer check out the pictures.

It is a bit far from the center, closer to Tibidabo but it is definitely recommended! It is spacious and full of super cool things to see for adults, kids, science-fanatics, amateurs, nature-geeks, basically everyone! I have been to barcelona several times and that’s my first time to visit it and i feel that i have been missing a lot already not going there before. The ticket is for 6€. I couldn’t find a way to book in advance which was a shame because the entry queue was ridiculously long!! But it was well worth it! I would recommend avoiding the weekends if you can or going there pretty early before it gets crowded, and definitely definitely allocate a good half day to it to soak up on all the fun, activities and things to do there.

Honestly the best science museum I've ever been to. There were so many interactive displays to fiddle with that are all very informative. The Flooded forest was the biggest highlight for me and I would recommend anyone to go see it. The views seen from the outside terrace and spectacular also Very much worth the trip the price

The best museum experience I’ve had so far! Everything is interactive. So interesting. I was walking around like a child with my eyes wide open! If you are with kids, highly recommend to visit it during daytime like at 12-15, and if you plan to go without kids, it’s better to go there after 16-17, bcs there are a lot of school students visiting it. The museum has 5 floors of interesting parts, to several parts u don’t have access, but it’s still plenty of discovering. I’ve spent there almost 3 hours, and none of second I was bored. They’ve got physics experiments pavilion, prehistoric finds, so many interactive stuff where you can learn about biological cells, human body, and also see fish, animals and birds 🤩.

Amazing trip for kids and parents. We loved the day out. We took our own sandwiches but you have plenty to but at reasonable price from the cafe or restaurant. I can't wait to go back to see the dinosaur displays the are coming soon.

Amazing amazing amazing! This place covers all the interesting aspects of life, physics, cosmos, and wildlife. It has extremely cool exhibitions that children would love to see! My children had an amazing time there, and didn't wanna leave. They even have a rain-forest with extremely cool animals. Recommended! Please book tickets online, as ticket office lines are very long.

Great fun for the whole family. The entry was free for children under 16 and only €6 for one adult. We went with our four year old, and she loved all the interactive science pieces and had a lot of fun at the aquarium. I would recommend this place for everyone visiting Barcelona. The staff were very helpful and friendly too.

Barcelona's best kept secret. Sure its not Gaudi related but you can't find better value for 6 euro in as far as I'm concerned. The quality and the quantity of science exhibits coupled together with an amazing building and atmosphere (including a small chunk of the amazon) made for a wonderful experience for myself and my 5 year old daughter. I could just see her eyes light up at all the different hands on and well thought-out exhibits where it really makes you feel like your back in class learning but having way more fun doing it. We stayed 5 hours including a quick lunch before we finally called it a day. Only disappointment was that the planetarium and other smaller exhibits were closed, not sure why. Parents, bring your kids here and you won't be able to get them to leave.

  • 5/5 Anthony S. 8 months ago on Google
For only €6 this museum is an absolute bargain. The pixar and flooded rainforest sections were worth more than the entry fee alone. Everything is well laid out, and there is enough to see to fill your day, although we didn't manage to make it to the planetarium. The live animals are all well taken care of, and each enclosure was a good size and enriching for each animal. The design around the flooded forest was incredible as you can view it from almost every angle. I loved my time here and wouldn't hesitate in coming back.

  • 5/5 Lando S. 4 months ago on Google
It's a very good place with lots of interesting things. Right now they are exposing dinosaurs and it's awesome! They are huge and very detailed! I also loved the aquarium! I honestly wasn't expecting it to be so big and with so much variety. It's one of the best museums in Barcelona for sure!

Excellent, stunning, wondrous ect. All the best words belong to this museum. You can learn and find interesting samples related to all types of science, including geology, biology, zoology, physics, chemistry, mathematics, medical ect. Here is attractive for everyone, especially for children in order to discover sciences. Thanks ♥️

Absolutely MUST visit! Inexpensive ticket prices which I recommend you buy online before you arrive. Lots to see, experience and do that will take up a whole day at least. The rainforest is amazing and the hands on science displays have kids running excitedly around learning with big smiles! Too many exhibits to list, in a beautiful building. A world class site, extremely well managed, with friendly and helpful staff and a great little cafe / restaurant that we stopped in afterwards for a sit down to rest our weary feet from all the walking and have some reasonably priced food and drinks. Brilliant!

We had the best time! Running around, drawn to the amazing gadgets and displays. Our two kids (4 and 6) couldn't stop, trying out one thing after the other. It's the perfect "playground" for children and adults :) You can learn a lot about phisics, chemistry, astrology, biology, the list goes on... It's fun and engaging while also being visually stunning. Amazing! Thank you!

We were very impressed about this museum and the variety of information that you can find here - from ancient times, dinosaurs and evolution of humans to modern technologies, including medicine innovations and many other interesting things. I was really amazed by the enormous forest inside of thw museum. It totally makes sense to spend a couple of hours exploring all activities that museum has to offer.
