When you enter, tickets are on the left, leave bags/coats on the right. There are two shops, both rather pricey. But sometimes you can find really good board games. Toilets are opposite the shops. Cafe is accessible at the very end of your visit. Each time I am in this museum, depending on what's going on in life, I find different paintings attract my attention and resonate with my feelings. I am not a particular fun, but this is a good collection. However, really, our days you should have better informational support to any museum collection! 3 stars are for the poor information support. The informational plagues are seriously outdated, not much story is there, boring. Then in the app that you can download not all paintings are included, and those that are, are in some weird order, difficult to navigate. I wouldn't mind to pay for a guided tour, but it is impossible on the day. This time there was a private Miro collection included in the exhibition, a Japanese owner, a son of an artist. Interesting to see what Miro caught the owner's eye!

Loved the museum and the collection they have. The building is amazing. We went the 18th of may which is the national museum day and the entry was free but you have to make previous reservation through their web page. Loved coming here and seeing the different art works of the artist.

Some really nice works on display, although not Miró’s absolute peak, in my opinion. It’s a really nice cross section of works but it doesn’t necessarily tell the story of how Miró got to his groundbreaking best. Perhaps some of the individual works could have done with a little more in the way of explanation for those not familiar with the artist’s works. That said, the museum is certainly enjoyable for 1-1.5 hours of your time. The café is nice, the building itself is fairly accessible, and there are toilets available too. Overall, a very nice experience and well worth your time if you have an extra day in Barcelona.

One of my favorite museums now. The building is pretty and well designed, and you get a nice view too. I love Joan Miró's work!

Benefits a lot from the Picasso and Miró exhibition. I think I came here about 15 years ago but didn't remember the art, only the building. This visit deserves to stick in the memory more. It's an excellent exhibition, not just elevated by Picasso alone but perhaps contrast/dialogue is much more stimulating than a single artist alone.

There was a small queue, we could have skipped it with Barcelona card which gives free access. The museum is in a beautiful area, up the hill, with great views. There are a lot of works hosted by the museum, a very rich experience.

Nice exhibit from one of the greatest Catalan artists. The museum has nice views so plan your visit during a sunny day if possible. It also has a nice cafe to take a break if needed.

Definitely worth the time if you’re looking for something to pass the time on a pleasant day. It’s easy to get to if you just take the free transfer funicular up from Parallel station. Really nice view of the city from an outdoor area inside the museum. It costs €13 per adult entry and there is free Wi-Fi you can connect to and scan a QR code to access free audio guides. They don’t have headphones though, so make sure to bring your own. The crowds when we went on a Sunday afternoon weren’t unbearable, but the amount of people definitely detracted from the serenity of the place. I guess that’s to be expected at such a popular institution.

One of the absolute BEST museums I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to a LOT of museums in different cities and countries. Miro’s permanent collection and the joy that it brings, the staff, the temporary and interactive exhibitions, the location in a serene spot, the chill spaces, the cafe, and everything else in the museum are top notch. I can’t really put it in words, but I truly had SO much joy, and I saw many children having fun too! It’s definitely a must visit and I’m so happy that we got to come here on our last day in Barcelona. DO NOT MISS THIS! Also use their on demand audio guide on your phones, it provides great info.

Brilliant collection of Joan Miro and his son's work, amongst others. Ticket is quite expensive at €14, but worth going if you're interested in Miro's work. The architecture is fascinating in itself. You can also see the Mercury Fountain by Alexander Calder, made for the Spanish Pavilion in Paris, 1937. There's also a very vibrant show consisting of 9 contemporary artists on the top floor (?). The Martin Creed installation was particularly fun, with oversized furniture that you can sit on, and a room filled with giant balloons that you can walk through.

This is our favourite museum in Barcelona, with an amazing collection of art from Joan Miró in a beautiful building. The views from the museum was amazing, it’s such a nice place to spend a few hours on a hot summer day. There are some street parking spaces nearby as well which is very convenient as we drove, and the location of the museum is a little out of the way for us.

Really beautiful space, absolutely worth a visit if you're in Barcelona (entrance is €13). There is a really versatile collection of Miró's pieces from different chapters of his life. The reason why I didn't put 5 stars is because the only bathrooms available are by the entrance, all the way downstairs and there isn't nearly enough seating throught the museum. If you're pregnant, elderly, or simply can't stand for long periods of time, it's tricky to get around. There is a cafe inside with a small restaurant if you want to take a break and grab something to eat as well.

The Foundation is a very pretty place! The collection is incredible and we enjoyed our visit a lot. If you have the Barcelona Card, you can get in for free. (Make sure to take the funicular, which is connected to the metro, to get there because the climb is pretty steep!)

Nice collection - and a nice spot with a view over Barcelona. There is a free audioguide, but I still missed some more information on Miró and his life. Not all paintings / sculptures were explained and there was only a short introduction for the museum.

Beautiful museum focussed on the works of Joan Miro and their friends. +a beautiful view on the city. Spacious and well balanced. Has a little cafeteria for fresh coffee and a little bite.

I dropped by the Joan Miró Foundation recently, and my experience was just okay. I visited last month, and there was no wait time to enter. I don't think you need to buy tickets in advance. The artwork was hit or miss for me – some pieces were interesting, while others seemed a bit pointless. If you're curious about Miró's work, it might be worth a visit, but don't expect to be blown away.

The Joan Miró Foundation is a nice building housing a museum. We did not purchase tickets to tour the museum as there was less than an hour left before they closed, but we did go around the bottom floor and visited the bookshop, cafe, and gift store inside. Both shops offered quite a variety of goods, which were fun to browse through (and purchase). We only got coffee at the cafe so cannot comment on more. I heard that the building offered some amazing views of Barcelona and wished we had the time to come back and explore.

Fine museum, unfortunately a big chunk of it was closed while we were visiting. (Preparing Miró/Picasso exhibition) The price for the tickets was lowered (5€ per student's ticket). The paintings themselves were fascinatinf tho. The whole building feels neat and also intriguing. The rooftop view on the other hand was blinding from all the white paint and bright sun. 4/5⭐

A pleasant experience. Inside the Montjuïc, it’s a good stop to get to know the work of Joan Miró. The people inside are nice to you and allows you to enjoy your own tour. The exhibition has good signing. The labels explaining the artwork could have bigger fonts. I have 20/20 eyesight and had to get pretty close. With a lot of tourist, it could become hard to get access to the labels. Enjoy the space on the rooftop of the weather allows. It has a great view of the city.

We visited during Miro-Picssso exhibition. The journey through art in history of two friends was very cleverly arranged. The descriptions of art pieces were art of words on their own. I could understand all the developments in the artists style and how context influenced them. The building itself deserves attention too, I loved a pause on the roof terrace. You recharge from the fresh air and the view and go back for more impressions.

Visited in April 2023, and it was a great experience. The museum has fantastic views of the city, which is almost reason enough to visit. My wife is a bigger Miro fan than I, but I still really enjoyed visiting, some great artwork to take in. Entrance fee is modest, which is great of course.

Very spacious and quiet museum where you can walk around and absorb the art exhibition without being pushed around by staff members. I must admit I am not an enormous fan of Joan Miro’s art, but the museum itself is a great place to go. Perhaps one of the most unusual exhibits was a fountain like mobile running with quicksilver. From the terrace you have a great overview over the city.

A very underrated but high regarded museum in Barcelona! The permanent and temporary guest exhibition were both equally enjoyable. Different to each other het complimentary. Had a nice moment to stare into abyss on the ‘patio/terrace’ overlooking an unique Barca view!

Absolutely worth a visit, even if you've never heard of Miro or don't like modern art. Beautiful building and space to walk around, with a lovely café and toilets open to all (tickets are required for the art). The guest artists are changed regularly - when we visited, there was a room filled with balloons you could enter.

The architecture of this building is absolutely fitting and perfect and original for Miró and his style of art. It’s such a wonderful experience for art lovers at such a great price. It is set in Montjuic overlooking amazing views of the sea and Barcelona, and the way the art is curated around the building feels all very intentional and meaningful. You really get a sense of the artist, his work and his influence. One of my favourite art gallery visits to date and I’ve visited many!

A fine museum, which shows Joan Miró's impressive versatility - from detailed figurative works, through the Avantgarde of the 20-40s to his late experiments with forms, procedures, and media. I must confess that it somehow changed my preconception of Miró's being rather one-dimensional artist stylistically (which is what museums are basically for). The museum itself is also interesting from the architectonic point of view, with pleasant retreat options on both storeys and Miró's statues cleverly interacting with architecture. A separate attraction is Calder's mercury fountain. Maybe a bit overpriced (14 euro for a museum manageable within a couple of hours), but still definitely worth it. Parents could also engage their children into interactive blocks created by other younger artists.

A great museum, well worth a visit, if you like Miró. Spacious and modern with some stunning artworks. The Mercury Fountain was also amazing. It wasn’t very busy, weekday, and I got my tickets at the museum. Very nice museum shop as well.

When in Barcelona, other than visiting the Sagrada Familia, visiting Joan Miro Museum/Foundation should be a must if you are an art lover. It is situated on the hills of beautiful Montjuic and is accessible by bus or taxi from downtown. When we were there, it was the 1st day of Picasso exhibit; therefore, the admission was free. Otherwise, they charge a modest admission fee. For once at a tourist spot, I saw more locals and natives than the tourists that day. A must see when in Barcelona.

Must see for fans of Miró. General art devoid of individuality. It is realy up to you, if this type of art fascinates or bores you. At the end there are his destroyed paintings which may be in my opinion his best art.

Very nice museum but the Miro-Picasso exhibit was depressing because it was sad to see how negatively Picasso affected Miro’s painting. Miro was a fauvist and a romantic and he could have been beautiful, colorful and abstract but in the end he creates white canvases with a blue dot.

I wanted to see this exhibition for a long time. An excellent space with a decisive communication structure, excellent works by Miro and Picasso. The shop with reproductions and souvenirs offers a lot of unique products that will fondly remind you of this wonderful experience.

Beautiful museum with great views of Barcelona. Joan Miró was more versatile than I realized. Paintings, sculptures, tapestries with stunning colors and memorable designs. Café was good too. Add reasonably priced tickets and free street parking. Well worth a visit!

I must say that I enjoyed the museum a lot and had wished for the audio guide, I’m a fan of miro and the collection is well curated. As well, the temporal exhibition. “Amigos imaginarios” was super amazing and lastly the bookstore “great selection”

An good exposition of the works of the great modern artist, Joan Miró. The works are organized in a way that helps the visitor to understand his work, and the museum itself is interesting architecturally. I advise purchasing tickets online in advance, as this may be less expensive (be sure to use the official.museum site, not a reseller).

It's a nice visit, inside there is a small terrace in front of a beautiful view of Barcelona. Still, the Museum does not have a logic route through the work of Miró, it is organized according to collectors' donations to the place. The audio guide it's also messy and hard to follow.

One of the most beautiful museums I have ever visited. Fortunately, it was way less crowded than most tourist attractions in September. Beautiful integration of architecture and art.

So glad i managed to visit this museum on their open day due to the La Mercè festival. Such a refreshing experience as the museum showcased his abstract/surrealist art. This is a contrast to all the renaissance/impressionism art that i have seen thus far in Barcelona. The audio guide is free & also easy to use (bring your earpieces for this)! The place was also very accessible due to the Montjuic Funicular & the roof terrance offered great views of the city. This is a museum not to be missed!

The museum has great modern architecture (ie looks good but very hard for visitor to find way around - good for winning arch prizes, not for customers). Lovely view over city. Beautifully presented fun Miro works (although presented with a lot of pretentious twaddle texts)
