Went in for a free exhibition. No fee or booking needed. There were beautiful sculptures, paintings, drawings and even the architecture itself is very beautiful and worth seeing.

I went there for a free exhibition and the place is huge! A must go to do free activities in Barcelona as a tourist! They always have an exhibition going on, so feel free to go there. It is quite popular and a bit crowded nowadays due to spring & tourist season. The hallway is beautiful too and downstairs you can find a little café where you can just hang out after watching the art. I didn't go to the café yet but definitely next time. The building has a toilet too and it is huge! So, you'll probably need half an hour or 40minutes if you want to observe everything detailled

Went in off the street on a Monday in January and discovered there's a free exhibition there. It had a mixture of films, sounds, paintings and so on, often intertwined together as part of the same exhibit to tell a story. I felt that most of the artists were fighting against oppression and violence, which resulted in many graphic pieces. There was, however, one booth where the artist put up pictures of standalone trees. Some on hills, some in the foreground of a forest, all in varying degrees being blown by the wind and the shakiness of the camera was propertionately affected by the wind. The exhibit seemed strangely out of place given its relative tranquility and I didn't make much of it at the time, but it's made me think how we're all shaped and affected by our respective environments.

I loved the John Berger exhibition. What an extraordinary exhibition of an extraordinary man. The cherry on the top is that it is free.

One of the few institutions in BCN that can be visited for free... They have one or two photo or visual arts exhibitions in the first floor of the palace, but it is also worth just to look behind the facade and explore the interior spaces of the palace (hints: nice courtyard and staircase).
