Nice exhibits. Trains from the end of the 19th century can be admired and the first electric locomotives/diesel locomotives can also be seen. There is air conditioning in the freight wagon to cool you down for a moment. You can spend a nice morning there.

I'm not a train lover, but the exhibition seems interesting and easy to navigate through. There are many steam locomotives in a row, and some of them are open for getting in. The information plates are not boring for casual visitors. Even a short visit gives a good overview of how people traveled by railway in Catalunya. Fun for kids, educational for adults.

Great museum! You won't see 27 steam trains from 1853 to 1945 anywhere else! The cabins are opened so you can climb on and imagine yourself the driver of the steam train. You can open the door of the furnace and so on. I am not the fan of trains, but here I fell like I'm six years old again and was excited to a greatest extent! Highly recommend this place to every man from 6 to 96.

A nice small museum😊 It is definitely worth a visit if you stay in Vilanova, we stayed there for about 1 hour, but if you are really into the topic, you can easily stay longer. There are many old locomotives in some you can also go inside. The descriptions are also in English and the staff was really friendly.

Great collection, you can park next to it for free, just say: "Tarifa familias al museu". And that at the entrance and exit. A great collection of steam locomotives.

Great place to spend one hour or two with children between 2-5 years old . They can run, play and learn about the history of rail transport. It’d be wonderful if children can get inside more wagons as it was only one available . However , all was very well organised with information in several languages . Good surprise :)

Good collection of engines, including some diesels and electrics. Explanatory posts in English as well. Bought ticket in Barcelona station which included travel by train and museum entry.

I can only agree with the other 5 star reviews. Great museum!!! Also very suitable for children!!! Even if you don't necessarily think trains are great, you should still go there!

Very interesting museum, curious and fun too. There are interactive areas, you can climb on some machines, see restored trains from different eras, temporary exhibitions, various recreations. Suitable for children and adults.

🚂 Catalunya Railway Museum 📸 Our experience at the museum has been excellent. We went with the Photographic Group and the guide (Maria) explained to us everything related to the Museum, the carriages and trains displayed there perfectly 👌🤗 A nice place to visit, especially on the first Sundays of the month because that day they start a steam train to make small starts and reverses. A magnificent experience for the whole family. Highly recommended 👌👍📸

Excellent exhibition of history of trains in Catalunya and Spain. I only had some more than 1 hour, but enjoyed the large collection of historic locomotives. Friendly staff allowed me to leave my bicycle with all baggagtof long-distance travel inside. Muchas gracies!

Nice museum. Been there now at least four times, since we have an apartment in Vilanova. Going there with the kids and they like it each time and I also cannot help pulling some of levers of these old steam trains. Amazing that these big machines were on tracks not so long ago.

Our second time there. The staff is amazing, very nice people. The collection of trains is amazing. Good infrastructure, all very tidy and well preserved. I recommend it for children from 0 to 99 years! :)

Very nice and informative museum, where almost every description is also in English. Apart from the 'adult' information next to the trains there's also some information for children (also in English), which is also fun to read because it's formulated cute and funny to give the trains personality. Part of the collection is outside, so it's hot out there on a hot day.

Our kids loved it. It was sad that one hall was closed. We saw some nice trains trough the Windows. At 2 pm employees directed us to the exit. They close at 2.30 pm. Thought that was a bit early. Could park for free on a private parking next to the museum with some help of one of the employees, great!

Very good place to visit if Vilanova/ Sitges is getting a little boring. Very interesting to find out more about the history of the locomotive industry in Spain.

My 4 year old son is especially fond of steam locomotives and we had a great couple of hours seeing such a great collection of locomotives and carriages from Catalonia and the rest of Spain. Was great that you could climb right onto the engine plate of some of the exhibits also. Was a really good couple of hours.

Nice museum based in an original railway roundhouse around a surviving turntable. Examples of locomotives and some rolling stock from the Iberian broad gauge system, and other interesting artefacts.

The highlight of this museum is the awesome collection of steam locomotives that sit outside of the main building. There are around 20 authentic trains on display. However, the information provided is badly translated into English. Additionally, I had the feeling that beyond the first four or five oldest machines, the rest seem to be just "dumped" on the grounds. I say this because a majority of the trains are closely packed together, making it difficult to see them in all their glory. Maybe the museum is lacking in money to be able to suitably display them all.

Nice place to go also with kids - you can go up on every second steam engine as well which is what they enjoyed most.

We checked out this place on a recent visit to Barcelona. As a rail fan it was really cool to see locomotives of the Catalonia Railway. It was a shame that they are kept outside though. Other than seeing the locomotives, there is not much else to see. However, if you have an interest in railways I would recommend this place.

Really interesting. Good selection. Would've liked more access to the engines and wagons with themed maniquies for each era.
