Unique experience, the whole place is amazing. Apart from the paintings and the installations on display, visitors can also have a chance to see the artwork of some other artists. Also we had the chance to see the work that Dali did in relation with Dante's Divine Comedy. Definitely worths a visit no matter if Art is your cup of tea or not!

Amazing! MY 3 POINTS AMAZING VARIETY OF DALI’S WORK! GREAT DISTRIBUTION / AMAZING BUILDING. BEAUTIFUL LITTLE TOWN (you can also see from outside Dali’s house. This was one of the activities that we did visiting this time Barcelona. We love Dali’s work since ever and we wanted our daughter to see it from near and not just books. She is 10Yo and she enjoyed a lot the experience. We totally recommend this place. The town around is cozy and clean. You can enjoy also to eat something in the restaurants near the museum. We loved it.

Very interesting to walk and look around the huge museum of quirky and fascinating artwork and experience. You don’t have to love art to have a great time and enjoy this museum. It’s a fun place to experience with friends and family and you can spend a lot of time just talking about it. Each artwork is so unique and eye catching - some are huge installations, some play with the architecture of the building, others require a second look to unravel the overall picture. There are so many hidden features in each area, depending on where you are looking from, something could look entirely different. It’s a museum unlike any other, where every wall and corner would have something special. Each artwork would have an artist statement and description, explaining the intention and meaning behind the piece, making it so much more interesting and easy to appreciate. Some art pieces are absolutely incredible in terms of their visual qualities like the choice of colour, the fine details, the overall composition. Included in the ticket, is a nearby building a few steps away from the museum, where there are artworks made of precious gems and jewels. Each piece was simply stunning - bedazzled in colourful gems, each work had a peculiar structure and form.

I am glad that I had a chance to attend a true performance within this Museum. Walking through its labyrinth evokes so many emotions, thoughts and feelings. I think everyone should visit it at least once. You may like or dislike it. But it will touch your heart for sure.

The museum displays the single largest and most diverse collection of works by Salvador Dalí, the core of which was from the artist's personal collection. In addition to Dalí paintings from all decades of his career, there are Dalí sculptures, three-dimensional collages, mechanical devices, and other curiosities from Dalí's imagination. A highlight is a three-dimensional anamorphic living-room installation with custom furniture that looks like the face of Mae West when viewed from a certain spot.

It was absolutely wild, amazing, fantastic and any crazy adjective you can think of! Everyone should definitely go. It's the most important place in Spain I think. I can't believe that place once was a house. It must be nuts. Even when you are inside you can feel the spirit of that crazy atmosphere. Everyone should experience it when they go there it's not enough just to look at the pictures. It worths the money you pay.

Amazing museum. Do not go unless you have a doctorate or have an awesome guide as the museum has many complexities. Dali spent well over a decade designing the museum and the meanings start before you enter the door. Dali even planned which paintings would be hung to replace others out on loan. Well worth your time if you have a good guide.

I waited a long time for a chance to visit this place and be in the presents of such genius and I was not in the least disappointed. The price in my opinion is very reasonable. It's hard to take in a lifetime of work in, in one visit. The experience was truly amazing

I adore creation of Salvador Dali, so I was impressed of this theater-museum-building. You can see here life of Dali and his wife Gala. By the way she was from Ukraine. Also you can watch paintings, statues, performances etc. Of course a lot of people here and always queue. But it's cost this payment. Cause it's really genius and masterpiece. For me the best place in the world and I would like to back cause one time it's not enough to investigate everything here.

Came on one of the busiest weekends mid August. The place was full of tourists, but even then we still had some luck with waiting outside the two nearby indoor parkings for around 10 minutes to be able to park. We walked up over to the ticket counter and bought the tickets to get access in the next 10 minutes. It was around 2:30pm when we got in. The place is a bit of a maze but it honestly fits with the vibe of Dali's art. Despite it being packed, the rest of the tourists were respectful of space and it was a generally nice visit. The art, of course, is amazing - a definite must visit.

Amazing experience! Went on a Saturday and we had pre booked fast track tickets. There was no wait time and the museum is very easy to find and get to from the train station. We spent more than 3 hours and felt we could easily do 3 more. Its a magical experience that allows you to be a part of Dali’s world. The museum is a work of art inside and outside and definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend

The museum that Dali himself designed for himself and his posterity. You need a guided tour to fully understand the nuances of the museum. While I didn't see any signature pieces, still saw a number of unique pieces to make it a worthwhile visit. The city of Figueres is Dali's hometown and having his museum there, he is giving back to his hometown with the tourist dollars forever. Definitely a proud native son.

Amazing experience. If you are in the area this is a 'must do' even if you aren't into the work of Salvador Dali. This fascinating museum is all the more incredible given the fact that the great man conceived and created it himself during his lifetime.

We had a visit as a team event with a private viewing and I loved the Dali museum. His paintings and the many layers needed loads of time to absorb and many details. Sadly we only had 40 minutes but so interesting and quirky which I love.

Just WOW. If you’re a Dali fan as I am, don’t you dare missing this place. It is by far my favorite museum and the best collection of Dali. Since the museum was made by Dali, it was so much details. The place is shocking. Calculate being there around two hours. I highly recommend buying tickets for the first hours, the place gets very packed and makes it harder to appreciate all the work. Remember the place includes a jewelry exposition, don’t miss it out! Worth every cent.

(Translated by Google) "I want my museum to be a single block, a labyrinth, a great surreal object. It will be a total theatrical museum. People who come to see it will leave with the feeling that they had a theatrical dream." - Salvador Dalí The museum displays the largest and most diverse collection of works by Salvador Dalí, whose core was from the artist's personal collection. In addition to Dalí paintings from all decades of his career, there are Dalí sculptures, three-dimensional collages, mechanical devices and other curiosities from Dalí's imagination. A highlight is a three-dimensional anamorphic room installation with custom furniture, which looks like Mae West's face when viewed from a certain place. The museum also houses a small selection of works by other artists collected by Dalí, ranging from El Greco and Bougereau to Marcel Duchamp and John de Andrea. According to Dalí's specific request, a gallery on the second floor is dedicated to the work of his friend and fellow Catalan artist Antoni Pitxot, who also became director of the museum after Dalí's death. A glass geodesic dome crowns the scene of the old theater, and Dalí is buried in a crypt beneath the stage floor.

(Translated by Google) The Teatre-Museu Dalí is a museum of the artist Salvador Dali in his hometown of Figueres, Catalonia. Dali was buried in the museum, in the crypt below the stage. Despite his desire to be buried in the castle in Pubol, which has been his residence since the 1970s, Dali was buried in the Theater-Museum in Figueres on January 25, 1989, two days after his death. The artist once said: “I want my museum to be a unique block, a labyrinth, a magnificent object of surrealism. "People who come to see him should come out of it with the feeling that they have experienced a theatrical dream." The heart of the museum is the city theater built in 1849, which Dali knew from his childhood. In 1918, the young artist participated in one of his first exhibitions with his first two works. The old theater burned down in 1939 during the Spanish Civil War, so only the construction of the once beautiful neoclassical building remains. The transformation of the building began thanks to Ramon Guardiola, a lawyer and art lover who has been the mayor of Figueras since 1960. He, together with Dalí, decided to turn the destroyed and abandoned city theater into a museum dedicated to the most famous son of Figueras. The city council approved the plan in 1968. However, the realization took a lot of time, both because of fellow citizens who did not want the museum, and because of bureaucratic and financial problems. Finally, on June 26, 1970, the Spanish government approved the project, and work began on October 13, 1970. The main architects were Joaquim de Ross and Ramis and Alexandre Bonatera. The museum was opened on September 28, 1974, and expanded in 1984 by annexing the Gorgot Tower, which was located next to the museum. Dali wanted to change her name to Galatea Tower in honor of his wife and Muse Gala. He transformed the tower with the help of the color of bread, bread as decoration and eggs that are on top. Today, the museum includes buildings and courtyards attached to the old theater. From the very beginning, the museum caused great enthusiasm and was highly appreciated by visitors. This is supported by the fact that the Dali Theater-Museum is the second most visited in Spain, behind the Prado Museum in Madrid. The museum exhibits the largest and most diverse collection of works by Salvador Dali, whose heart is the artist's personal collection. There are also several works in the museum that the artist made for the museum, such as the May West room, the Palace of the Winds room, the Monument to Frances Pujol and the Rain Cadillac. The museum also exhibits a collection of holographic art by Salvador Dali, as well as a collection of jewelry that he designed himself. In one room, Dali placed the bathtub and a wall table with an open drawer and lamp upside down, on the ceiling of the room. The rooms attached to the museum building are dedicated to optical illusions, stereoscopy and anamorphic art created by Dali himself. The artist's latest works, including his latest painting The Swallow's Tail from 1983, are on display at the museum. Working hours from 01.IV to 30.VI from 09h to 20h (last entry is at 17h15min) The ticket price is 14 € (Original) Pozorište-muzej Dali (Teatre-Museu Dalí) je muzej umetnika Salvadora Dalija u njegovom rodnom gradu Figerasu u Kataloniji. Konačno, 26.VI 1970. vlada Španije odobrava projekat, i radovi počinju 13.X 1970.

An absolute must if you come and fly in via Girona. It is a short hop on the train. 8 euro return. It's 20 euro to enter the museum. There were plenty of things to do and optical illusions to look at. It is a fascinating place to look at. Recommended for any tourist to come and visit. It is a 15 minute walk from the Figueres station.

Probably the main attraction of Figueres. It is possible and recommended to purchase tickets online in advance. The museum is splendid, with the peculiarity that, by Dali's own will, there is no predetermined route, and everyone is free to visit it in their own way. More explanations regarding the exhibited content would have probably made the visit even more interesting, but it remains an overall splendid experience.

Difficult to put into words. If you like Dali’s work, given he designed this Museum - this is almost a religious experience. Be sure to visit the Dali Jewels exhibition just beyond the Museum gift shop, included with your ticket. Well worth the trip to the beautiful town Figueres.

The theatre museum it is good, but the missing explanation of the piece or a good audio guide with some info on Dali history and production is a big lack. I was a bit disoriented in such eccentric place and art pieces. The jewellery gallery it is at the very end of the museum and is amazing. Buy ticket in advance because there is lot of queue and we were lucky to find tickets on the spot

Amazing museum and memorial for one of 20th century's greatest artists. Beautiful pieces are kept throughout the establishment, in an easy to follow way so that you are able to see the entire collection. Tickets can and should be purchased in advance. There is also free WiFi offered here, though it was out of service on the day of my visit.

Really interesting display. Interactive and fun. We tried not to get lost, many things to see. Quite sure we missed a few! Loved the pictures with Dali himself painting what we can actually see in the room. Only bémol would be the app. If you take a picture with your phone, the app starts from scratch when relaunched… it takes too long. Easy to park nearby - we added a nice walk downtown with small Christmas market.

A surrealistically superb space to watch the art of the self proclaimed genius Dali, which houses many, many examples of his wonderful art, each one filled with fascinating details to be discovered: Paintings, sculptures, decorations, architecture... One could easily dedicate a full visit to each of the rooms, but running through all of them in 90 minutes is also a great pleasure to the mind. Thanks for this monument to creativity and freedom of thought and form!

There are some great pieces to be seen and the fact that Dali created the space is even better. It is a bit sad there were many spaces closed probably due to Covid. also there was no audio or any guide. One of the senior people working in the museum's security was explaining to some of us though.

What a great experience this museum is! It's packed full of Dali artwork from his most iconic pieces to rough sketches. It's really well laid out but doesn't make you feel too formal so we could enjoy the experience more than a classic art gallery.

You can also visit his grave on the lower floor. An absolute must for fans, for those who have not yet dealt with his work that much, maybe the beginning of an artistic following. A good reason to stop in Figueres! Unfortunately, some of Dali’s best works are not here, but it is very interesting all the same. It’s offers a wonderful insight into Dali’s world who designed / set up the museum himself. Book yout tickets online in advance. The museum shop could be a bit better though, I had higher expectations.

We loved the museum! Very impressive work of art, very interesting paintings and sculptures. The visit took us a little less than 2 hours. We booked tickets online which made it easier and faster to enter. Nice visit with kids as well.

  • 5/5 Ana G. 2 years ago on Google
Beautiful museum filled with many of Dalí’s works. So entertaining and fun that you can spend hours there looking into the detailed pieces, and the museum itself was designed by Dalí himself to host them. We bought our tickets online and the visit went smoothly. Be mindful when choosing your time slot that you’ll need at the very least 1.5 hours to see it properly. Recommend also visiting Gala’s castle in Púbol, which also provides some interesting context.

Visiting the Dalí Theatre-museum in Figueres is a different artistic experience to live. Sorrounded by masterpieces of the surrealistic painting movement you’ll also discover the real ironic and excentrical personality of Dalí. Don ‘t miss one of best & full artistic sites in Spain!!

Well, it can be visited just to see originals of artist's legacy but won't to go there second time definitely. Jewels are impressed the rest of museum expositions seems quite strange and freaks.

Bought tickets in advance and still had to wait half an hour in a long queue. It’s a bit overwhelming inside and not for claustrophobic people. It’s a wonder how/if Dalí really put out this much work in his lifetime? Just seemed a bit chaotic. There are some nice restaurants in town though, and it’s a good break from Barcelona

  • 5/5 Christopher Y. 2 years ago on Google
one of the best museums i have ever visited in my life. while other museums may be boring, the Dalí Theatre Museum captivates the mind with optical illusions, a colluseum-style theater, artifacts from Dalí’s life, and (best of all) the actual resting place of Dalí’s body.

  • 5/5 Sergio 2 years ago on Google
Pure magic! It deserves to spend the whole morning visiting and interpreting all the masterpieces of such a great artist! I strongly recommend to hire a guided tour or to use an audioguide to help yourself understand the meaning of all the items exposed as well as to discover the hidden images and secrets of the pictures.

Well, what else can be said about this sublime museum? Dali designed and set it all up and you can tell as much upon entering and the ensuing adventure within. I visited in May 2016 when the weather was beautiful. The train from Barcelona doesn’t take too long and is cheap enough. The train I got took around 2 hours and cost around 20 Euro’s return. The museum ticket was 14 Euro’s but this may have changed. The crowds were spread out so things didn’t get too claustrophobic and you can go off in pretty much any direction you wish. It’s definitely not your conventional journey inside a museum. My visit was made more fun after meeting a recently divorced American lady who sold everything up and decided to back pack around Europe. She has been a Dali fan since high school and this was one of her major stops along her travels. It was quite exciting to see someone from the other side of the world enjoying the museum like a child enjoys Christmas morning. The shop was nice but could have had a little more on offer. I did pick up a lovely poster for the collection but there wasn’t a lot on offer which was a shame. There are few museums around Europe that offer an experience of this kind. Now we are getting back to more regular travel, I would suggest you make The Dali Museum a high priority.

Amazing work by the great Dali. All styles and mediums are here to see (including the building itself). Very busy tho so u get a bit of a rushed feeling passing thought the corridors. Take tour time to find a parking spot as most parking garages are all full most of the time. Make a reservation before hand to dodge the long queue.

Interesting museum with curious facts about some of the exhibits. Loved the jewel work and display. Buy tickets in advance as they go quickly.

This is madness. This is out-worldly. “Where, if not in my own town, should the most extravagant and solid of my work endure, where if not here?“ Definitely book online in advance and spare around three hours (remember the closing time at 17:45). I would go early in the morning as it gets super crowded. Also guided tour is highly recommended!

  • 4/5 Dawn B. 10 months ago on Google
Liked this place and very cool art, but so crowded when we went on a Wednesday. Very hard to navigate through. Very touristy. The train ride from centre Barcelona was easy and the staff were nice. We had purchased tickets online and got there a few minutes after the reserved time, and there was a long line at the entrance. The staff let us go in ahead of the line since we had a reserved time that had passed by a few minutes.

  • 5/5 Klaus B. 10 months ago on Google
If your art focus is surrealism and/or you Salvador's Dali work you need to come here to enjoy most of his famous work, get inspired, be fascinated and love the atmosphere. I have been here 40, 30, 20 years ago and I always get reminded how ingenious Dali is and was. Loved it.

  • 3/5 Vincent O. 11 months ago on Google
We arrived 30minutes before opening time at 10h30. When doors opened tickets for the day were sold out in about 10 minutes. Recommend pre-book and buy on line. It was still interesting to see the external and browse the souvenir shops.

Awesome exhibition of Dali's work. Lot of his pictures and sculptures. Awesome was red sofa as mouth. From upstairs look as a face. The best was ceiling with picture of Dali's and his wife figures.

Amazing place, totally worth it. Salvador Dali’s art is awesome. Definitely have to see it in person. The Museum is pretty big and you need at least two hours to see everything. In addition to the main part, there is another exhibition (in another building) with Dali’s jewellery which must be seen as well. The museum is so pretty on the outside also. There is a shop inside to buy authentic souvenirs. Had a great time, you should visit it too, if in Barcelona!!!

  • 4/5 Marta M. 9 months ago on Google
Dali's work is genious, no doubt. However, I would love to have more context - some pieces lacked titles, others were so peculiar that I would really use some background/descriptions. I know there are guides for that, yet, for this price one could expect to have some of the info provided. Overall, definitely a place to go.

  • 5/5 Oksana I. 8 months ago on Google
Must visit!!! Highly recomended! Some hacks: Better with buy tickets in advance (we did it 3 days before). Do not forget add 'guided visit' with you language. Leave time for free ride in your schedule.

The Dali museum was well worth the hassle of traveling to Figueres from Barcelona. It's a short walk (15 min) from the train station. We arrived late for our reservation due to us taking longer than expected on the train. They allowed us to come in only because there were open spaces in the next time slot but I highly recommend reserving tickets ahead of time. The museum is I think about 3 floors and ascends in a circular manner. It's extremely crowded in the afternoon so perhaps an early time slot is more comfortable. It was difficult to admire all the works due to the crowds but that was to be expected. If you're debating on coming here, take the plunge. I am a big fan of his artwork and to witness one of his greatest masterpieces, including his tomb was very gratifying.

It's smth definitely worth experiencing. Nit sure if one time is enough to feel, i think we'll come back again. Buy ticket online if you are sure on arrival time. Otherwise there uc no issue buying fron the ticket box, but would require s bit of waiting to enter

Amazing museum, very well set up in such a way that you wan’t miss anything. As you are walking through multiple levels of the exhibits, the signs will make it easy to navigate through the maze of artworks, which will keep you entertained for 1-2 hrs.

If you like Dali you will find this museum interesting. I took the guided tour in English and learned some interesting details that you do not get just from wandering around. You need to plan ahead to get a guided tour. I had to wait 2 days for the English tour. I have included some of my surrealist photography that was inspired by Dali.

A dream finally came true! Finally had the chance to visit Dalí Theatre. We stayed in Barcelona so we had to visit the Museum. I recommend you to get your tickets in advance online. I won’t describe my experience which was great 😊 just have a look at the photos and videos! outstanding

The Dali museum is really an awe filled experience. You should buy tickets ahead of time and you can come when your ticket time is. Entering was ok although there were a lot of people you didn't feel crowded or disturbed, through the whole visit. The museum itself runs by numbers you follow though each one of the exhibitions. Sadly there isn't any reading or explanatory information whatsoever which was very frustrating. Walking around the different exhibitions seeing not only the amazing art but the sheer amount of them was shocking and inspiring. Really recommend.

  • 4/5 Kylie-ann L. 7 months ago on Google
I could've stayed there for 2 hrs getting lost i this magical place. I wish this museum had QR code do you could can and read about the artworks. Or if they ordered an audio tour to understand what is behind all the artworks

  • 5/5 Vladimir M. 6 months ago on Google
This place offers unique insights into life of the genius. The place was decorated by Dali himself, so you can see his talent applied to things other than paintings. There is also jewelry of his design that was made into real pieces. A lot of new information. Definitely a bucket list item.

I strongly recommend that you come. The Dali Museum will definitely bring you unforgettable memories The light is very good when you go in the morning. You can prepare a few coins because some installation art requires coins to be seen

We were blown away by the intricate details and senses-evoking exhibits and experience that this museum had provided. As a Dali fan, it was a visual and thought-provoking feast! Even my companions of non-dali fans were easily converted into one after going through the works and installation.

Quirky and fascinating insight into the work of Dali. I was certainly amazed by the breadth and depth of his talent, of which I was previously unaware. Don't miss the jewellery section at the end, another dimension to the man's genius.
