Awesome! For me, definitely the best out the three museums (Picasso, Moco and MEAM) I visited so far in Barcelona. It features many great sculptures and ultra realistic painting which I adore. The museum is hugely underrated and deserves way more attention. During me visit there were no more than 15 people in the museum. Buying tickets in advance might thus not be necessary.

I found this place by surprise out of the Picasso Museum. Not really knowing what to expect I went in and found out beautiful piece of contemporary art. A first glance, you might think you're looking at pictures but these are definitely paintings. The museum is medium sized but it's definitely worth seeing. On top of that, since only a few people are visiting it, you'll have all the time you want to admire each of portraits. I highly recommend going there when in Barcelona!

My favourite museum in Barcelona. Amazing. I loved it. Picasso is nothing compared to this. Here I felt vibrant and alive. Will come back next time I visit. Then also hope to hear some music. :)

Awesome place to spend a couple of hours. La Guardia was closed due to snow, so they offered me a first-class ticket to stay one more night in Barcelona! Next morning I had breakfast and walked straight to the museum. They had an exhibit of the drawings Picasso made on bar napkins and such. A young lady next to me kept wondering outloud what the writing around the drawings meant. When I told her that it was erotic expression she blushed and walked away muttering a thank you, LOL!

I really like to combine a visit to the museum with a concert. the concert program is always very interesting, it is an amazing opportunity to hear musicians and performers in an atmosphere of true presence - a small cozy hall, good acoustics and after the concert the opportunity to contact with musicians personally.

You should say if the museum is closed for private visits. I came to visit the museum and your receptionist for no reason acted like a bouncer and stopped me from entering the space saying that today is a private event and the whole building is only accessible to those people that i saw climbing the stairs. Put your location as private if its not open to everyone please. and why on earth a public art space get rented for private/VIP visits. This is very disappointing.

I was quite surprised by the quality of art. I went inside and it triggered a variety of emotions. From the music, to the lighting, the sequence of paintings... I wish there was a curator to ask different questions. They played Abel Korzeniowski, it was so touching at some point, I Had a tear coming up from the emotions and feeling through the art. Artists from different European countries of the world had been putting on the art paintings in different rooms. What I also understood is that they had musical performances inside. I loved the quotes inside. One of them: “What modern man has completely lost is their desire for permanence. His work no longer aspire to last eternally but simply to fulfill their small, limited, momentary vision of the instant. Modern man does not understand - too obsessed with himself - the meaning of the word eternity. He wants to be he himself, personally who wants to exhaust all the creative possibilities that were previously were previously conceived in centuries. He wants it to be he himself, personally, who wants to exhaust all the creative possibilities that were previously, conceived in centuries, he wants it to he himself who enjoys the applause which before only arrived after death.”

3 star for just the building and the music they were playing (Abel Korzeniowski, love his works by the way). Most of the Art pieces are like beginners work. There are few professional ones, but not worth the time nor the money. If you're really into hyper realistic portrait, may you enjoy the collection.

The most beautiful experience I had in Barcelona. I went on a Sunday so it was not very occupied which allowed me adequate time to look at everything undisturbed. They also had classical music playing and it was a very emotional experience. Highly recommended!

Smaller but beautiful museum. All the buildings in this part of town are incredible. The price is a little much for the size but there is currently a Groupon for half price. Either way it is worth a visit if you are in the area.

Small spaces with individual rooms ro more privately appreciate the works of art. We were pleasantly surprised to have the opportunity to enjoy two local musicians at the end of business. The room for music is small, up close and personal and beautiful. I would absolutly recommend you take advantage of this opportunity, tucked away in the old city.

Amazing collection of figurative art. The winners get detailed write ups for their paintings with interesting stories behind the paintings/sculpture. The permanent collections do not, which is sad because some of them must have stories to tell.

The art collection here was dramatic, visually striking, and thought provoking. Our entire family enjoyed the dept of emotions and the emotional views of live depicted in the works here. If you have a hang up over nudity then you will struggle. But if you want to glympse the human condition via talented sculptors and painters the I highly recommend visiting here

This place it was a total surprise, beside the Wonderful historical building from the year 1600, there are inside a collection of Such talented artists with figurative realistic And sometimes hyper-realistic painting to really be astonishing. After more than Three hours inside i could still find pieces of art in the toilets entrance! Toilets (clean) that you can find on different floors with different art inside. What an afternoon in awe that I passed. Recommended AF.

Excellent museum of modern realism. On three stories you will find stunning portraiture and figurative art , ultra-realistic paintings and drawings which will make you wonder how this can be achieved with paint. Don't miss the great sculptures. Very happy to have visited the museum.

A fairly somber modern art museum. we do not regret visiting this at all. However, this type of art was not necessary out type as much. Unexpected Highlights: - some of the most beautiful bathrooms I’ve seen in a museum? - seeing a live painting class going on, that made the museum feel much more alive and connected to modernity.

Hidden gem very few people know about. Around the corner of the Picasso and the Moco museum. Amaaaaazing art. They look like pictures but are actually paintings. Also nice sculptures. You won't regret coming here to admire the art of these amazingly talented people. You can even look at art of smaller painters in the lobby, and buy and you would like.

This place is a gem! My favourite museum in Barcelona so far. If you like realism this is your place. I loved everything in this museum. It’s not so big, I could see everything in aprox 1h15, and it has 3 floors. It also has very clean toilets! The staff is very kind, and before you start, they explain to you what contains in each floor. I went during the week, so it wasn’t crowded at all! I definitely recommend this place!!!

I recently visited this lovely art museum located in the heart of El Born, and I had a fantastic experience. The museum had two shows, Mimesis and Moportait, and I was truly inspired by the selection of works. The technical quality of each piece was exceptional. Each piece had something unique about it. If you have an appreciation for classical arts and figurative works, this museum is a must-visit. The location in El Born adds to the overall charm of the museum.

As a fan of classical & modernist arts, really love how the museum tries to resurrect the representational spirit of pre-WWII arts from the over-abstracting tendency of contemporary arts while maintaining a high degree of artisanship & innovation! I even encountered several paintings I saw in Museum Ludwig in Köln before.

With four floors of breathtaking sculptures and paintings, The European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) surpassed my expectations. If you're staying anywhere near the El Born district of Barcelona, and you're into modern art, I highly recommend stopping by the European Museum of Modern Art. In my opinion, it's well worth the 9 Euro entry fee.

The museum, was a total shock, gona tell you why. Lets star for the first floor, the ART works you gona see there are from artist that paid for having their works there, therefore the quality of those are from terrible 😢 to so so. Second and third floors looks more like some random artist studio, this really shows the lack of Knowledge of the people that run the Museum, and curate the work that are shown. You’re gona see some really talented and experience artist like Shane wolf, Eloy Morales, Grzegorz Gwiazda along some really terrible works, that just by seeing them you can tell how bad they are. I just feel sad that this happens. I’n the other hand is not a Museum of Contemporany art, is a Museum of Portraits and really bad portraits, the type your grandmother will do with her friends drinking tee. In a few words is like going to an art school and just wach the students work along some good master. And just one thing the work that have glass are so dirty that you can even see finger prints on the glass.

I loved this museum!! It has incredible work of arts, by looking them sometimes you don't believe that it's not a photo. Honestly I'm surprised by some bad reviews, you don't need to have a famous artist's name under the painting to consider it great. Let's appreciate our modern talents as well!!

Lovely museum which is located only a few steps from the Picasso museum. I guess it depends on the exhibition, but the current one in my eyes is worth it. They do concerts here as well. Maybe one down side is that the price 12€ is a bit high for 2 floors of exhibition (the 3rd floor is only 1 room).
