This is one of the best locations to visit while in Paris. I would say first place, especially if you aren't lazy enough to walk around and inhale the spirit of old Paris. Each time we visit this Basilica we find something new!

This is an amazing Cathedral to check out in Paris that offers amazing views of the city! The Cathedral itself is incredible to see. The entrance is free and there is a panoramic view of the city from the Cathedral for about €7 I believe but you can also get amazing views of Paris from the front of the Cathedral. If you take the metro and get off at Abesses, make sure to take the elevator/lift to exit the metro station as the stairs are a killer!

Its worth a visit. The structure is impressive and free to enter but it costs 7 euros to go up to get a panorama view. Its not the most ornate building but the architecture and the carving is amazing. Be mindful of people praying and where and how you are taking pictures. Too many large groups come in and think they can do whatever they want. Get there early for less crowds but know it always is full of tourist groups. If you can, climb the stairs. The funicular is not really worth it.

Very beautiful both inside and outside. The huge altar and the praying area. Extremely beautiful stained glasses and all the pictures have something to say. Very lively. It is very peaceful to sit inside and hear those prayers and hymns. Located at the hill top, so you get a spectacular view of Paris from the staircase. You can sit for hours admiring the beauty around. There is a park specifically for the dogs, where you can watch the dogs playing around and having fun.

A most definite must see while you visit Paris. The building is beautiful and just majestic and impressive, the closer you get to it the better the details get. Prices to enter the basilica are quite affordable and the inside is just as majestic as the outside. Fair warning however, the stairs heading towards the basilica are not for the weak or the faint of heart, it is a significant climb there.

Stunning cathedral! It is located on top of the hill of MontMartre which is such a stunning little district of Paris, like how they depict it in the movies. Winding roads, cobblestone, old buildings and little paths and stairways up, lots of explore. You can go inside and visit the cathedral for free, and sometimes there is a live mass occurring. It is beautiful inside. You can also see Paris from atop at a vantage point here.

This was the most wonderful place I visited while in Paris! I fell in love with this cathedral the moment I saw it from afar. The outside of the cathedral is absolutely gorgeous. The inside is breathtaking. Definitely the most beautiful Cathedral I’ve ever been to. They offer the Eucharist at various times of the day as well as confessions. I arrived early in the day, therefore I didn’t have to wait in line to enter. I spent 3-4 hours here.

Amazing building...when we visited we were surprised to see that there was actually a service on... they let visitors in while services are ongoing...just be respectful and make sure you don't get any of the congregation in any photos you might take....and trust me...you will want to take photos....the architecture and artwork/decor is stunning...free entry and worth the climb up the hill to visit. Behind it are quaint little coffee shops, and out the front you have the iconic stairs....(just ask John Wick 😂). Old carousel was great for the kids. Beware of pickpockets on this line and area heading from metro to the site...it really isn't the best area and we saw a couple get hit by pickpockets on the way back to the city centre. Just keep your wit about you, don't let anyone distract you and you will be fine. Well worth the trip out of the city centre

A beautiful basilica Sacré-Cœur (Funicular) in France. Standing on top of a hill, vastly looking with white doms and a wide scenic view of Paris city from the church boulevard. Amazing external and internal architecture with an ancient look. We have to climb many steps and can use the transport system of an inclined elevator to the top from the bottom level for the cost of 2 euros. Very interesting to understand the culture and the belief. We can see many tourists fixing the padlocks on a fence as part of their love. Surrounding we can see many artists sitting and drawing, painting the portraits specially in a particular area. In history Pablo Picasso and many artists who spent their time over there. Tourists can get their portraits painted or pencil sketched  and buy souvenirs from there. A really peaceful place to visit in Paris.

We went in the early morning of the day. We climbed so many stairs to get there. We wanted to see the sunrise. There is a cable car but it was not operating around 8am. However, we return by the cable car. We read many reviews about scammers and stuff so we were prepared. We did not meet any scammers trying to sell stuff but a petition scam where locals ask tourists to sign a petition and then ask for money. We just said no and moved on. The church visit is free. It was remarkably wonderfully built. The architecture and art was amazing. People also came to pray. No hats are allowed. We enjoyed this place. After that we took the cable car and walked around the streets. When we came.out, there was a small train. Sadly, I do not have much information about it but it was transporting people.

Absolutely amazing piece of architecture and a bonus breathtaking view of the city. The church itself is beautiful and sits on a cliff where you have to take a cable car 🚠 uphill but even the view of the church from the bottom is wonderful.

A wonderful visit at this huge basilica. The size and architecture is impressive and mesmerising. At €7 per person, it's worth taking a flight of stairs up to the top of the dome. What a sight! NOT good for people who might be claustrophobic and/or those who find 300 stair steps challenging.

It's hard to put into words how much I adore this spot! The sheer beauty of the grand mosaics and captivating architecture inside is breathtaking to say the least. And the location...wow! Perched atop a hill, offering the most spectacular views of the city, it truly is a sight to behold. Spending time here, simply sitting and soaking in the views of the city spread out beneath me is one of my favorite pastimes. Whether it's watching the hustle and bustle of the city during the day or catching the mesmerizing sunset in the evening, it's an experience that never gets old. 🌇 And if you're a photography enthusiast like me, the surrounding area is a gold mine. There are numerous small spots where you can catch a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower peeking through the tree branches. It's such a unique perspective and offers a fantastic opportunity for some really creative shots. 📸 All in all, this place is an absolute gem! From the stunning interiors to the panoramic city views and photo ops, it's a must-visit for anyone in the city. I just can't get enough of it! 💗

Impressive and beautiful church on the hillside location of Paris. The scenery looking up at it and once you reach the peak is spectacular. Many stairs to climb which are easily walkable or their is a lift that can take you up which costs a few euros. The outside of the church is perfect for pictures of the view down and of Paris from afar. Inside the church is just as amazing with the sculptures and art. Great architecture all around , definitely visit here if you have a chance.

Beautiful church. Stone carvings on the exterior shows the find workmanship put into this. Beautiful mosaics and stained glass on the interior. Best part - free to enter. No need to pay $7 to go up into the dome. The view of the city from front stairs is breathtaking enough. It was a fun hike up the hills to get to this beauty. And as someone else said, please be respectful and mindful of the actual worshippers when you visit.

Fascinating Cathedral on all levels. The Basilica of Sacré-Cœur de Paris is a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica in Paris dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Basilica is situated at the summit of the butte of Montmartre. Rising two hundred meters above the Seine, the basilica offers panoramic views of the entire city of Paris and its suburbs. It is seemingly the second most popular tourist destination in the capital, following the Eiffel Tower.

Fascinating old cathedral to explore with an excellent view out across the city of Paris. The architecture and paintings are awe-inspiring! They also offer a 45 minute tour that takes you to the top of the dome.

I was glad to finally have the chance to visit inside Sacré Cœur. Whilst there were still a lot of tourists at least it wasn't as bad as it was during summer. The basilica is stunning, the stained-glass windows amazing even if the weather outside was overcast. It is a great testament to the skills and dedication of all those who have worked to build this place, and to those who maintain it as a sanctuary atop the hills of Paris.

A beautiful more than a century old church in the top. We need to climb up with steps and if you can't walk don't worry left side of the entrance have a lift/vehicle to bring you up(paid service). After you reached the top ,you could see stunning view of Paris. There are scopes available to see the view closer (paid service €1 -2)just put it inside.i have added scope view also here. Usually there is a queue for enter the church and bag check. Inside the church you will feel the silence and peaceful mind.there you can pray the lord. Candles 🕯 available inside you can pay with cards(self service).if you like even you can go to top of the church (paid service) to see view of Paris even higher. There are fences with pad locks if you want you can lock one too. Artists around the church used to play and sing. IF THIS review Helps you. HIT LIKE BUTTON 👍 AND FOLLOW

You have to visit this church if you are in Paris. It has the most beautiful landscape view of Paris! Be ready to climb the 292 steps to the top, but once you reach it! The view is priceless!!! You have to be careful though of pickpockets around its neighborhood.

We visited this place at night, there is a view deck where you can see the city, but you can’t see the Eiffel Tower from the deck. There is a huge younger trendy crowd here at night, I wasn’t expected that for a church. There is also a trolly to take you up hills if you don’t care for the stairs.

Steps up are fine, but there is a funicular if you need it. Queues only 10-15min to get inside, then lovely cathedral. Highly recommend the extra trip up to the cupola, around 20euro for family of four, and you get 300 steep step workout that should not be attempted by those who don't like small spaces, but the view from the top is brill.

Beautiful church with gorgeous mosaics. So nice that you DO NOT need a ticket or to schedule ahead of time - the way many other attractions in Paris used to be. There was a line but it moved very quickly. We were only in line 5 minutes before we got inside. Fantastic views of the city from the church. There is a funicular to take you up or down the hill.

It was absolutely beautiful. Once you make it to the top, the views are stunning. The inside of the church is awesome. all of the little locks on all the fences, millions of them.. a man was outside, entertaining, playing his guitar and singing. I highly recommend it you must go.. but a warning you must wear comfortable shoes and be in decent shape to climb the millions of stairs to get to the top. I had to take several breaks before we made it up, but it was very well worth it.

This is a very beautiful church in Paris. The views down to the city of Paris are very beautiful. I recommend you to go there at sunset in the evening (9-9:30pm in July). The mood there is pretty crazy if you sit in front of the church and drink a beer or something. You can get their easily by Metro or with public transport. Definitely worth a visit if you're around in Paris. If you wanted to eat or drink something, there are also lots of restaurants, Cafés and bars around that place.

Probably my favorite church. The outside look is just wonderful no matter if you believe in any God, Budha, Allah... Even the closed streets around are wonderful and I love to walk around anytime and in any weather. I was here already a few times and realized when is the best time to get here. During the rainy days, the streets are almost empty. Otherwise, the area is super crowded. Thank you for this opportunity to see the beauty of the world🤩

Coming to visit this site means you are coming to Montmartre which is a beautiful area and offers an overlooking view of Paris. This Basilique couldn't be in a more picturesque place. There is no fee to visit though there is a fee to go to the top and be aware this site is quite busy. Just a quick tip though if you don't take the tram up beware that the walk up here is all up heel with a lot of steps so be prepared and wear comfy shoes!

One of the best places to visit. The white domed cathedral located in Paris is an amazing place to see. The view is great from the cathedral. There is a metro station nearby and you need to climb a few steps to reach the hill top. The cathedral is beautiful from both outside and Inside. The view of Paris is stunning. There is also a cable car directly to the hilltop.

Historic white domed church in Paris. The interior is really nice with mosaics and stained-glass windows. The place also offers a great view of Paris. It can get really busy with tourists so bring your patience here. However, it is worth your time as it is a beautiful church and as a bonus, you get a nice view of Paris. Great picture opportunities here as well. They also have guided tour if you want but it may not be worth it since you get all the needed information about this place online.

Incredible views of Paris and worth the hike up to the top of the Basilica! It costs €8 for adults and €5 for kids to go to the top. It is 300 steps up a very narrow and winding staircase. Kids 8&10 had no issues. The views were great! It’s very windy so hold on to your hats/scarves. Going down was easy just requires pause in order to not be too dizzy with the circling downwards. The Basilica is also beautiful inside and free to enter.

Having first spotted this amazing piece of architecture on top of a hill from the rooftop of the Arc de Triomphe, I was immediately drawn to it and had to pay it a visit. It is somewhat a distance out of town but you can get the metro however you still have to walk up a hill to reach it. Once you get to the top you can really appreciate its beauty and the view overlooking Paris. You can go inside and take in the dome structure and various statues. It is free to enter and well worth taking a took, you won’t be disappointed.

A must see in Montmartre, we took the long way up, steep hills through the side streets and then took the stairs down, either route needs a good level of fitness but so so worth it for the view at the top and visiting the cathedral itself. Inside is beautiful, but respect needed especially in the central section reserved for silent prayer which I thought was very important. It was crowded when we visited, weekday in February. As some other reviews have said there are some shifty people around, we didn’t witness anything however did have to keep our bags in hand at all time and our wits about us. Lots of men walking around selling things but they do head off straight away if you say no. Definitely worth coming in spite of this as it is an amazing place.

My favorite church in the world! At the same time, not that long away you will find The Moulin Rouge. Old Paris was just like that, a basilica, big white one, to remind us all that we must be faithful. One of the main symbols of Paris and the most enchanting place.

Another Paris treasure. The stone cathedral is perched on one of the cities few hills, with panoramic city views. The rich stonework show the talent and craftsmanship long gone. We didn't take the 126 stairs to the tower for the best view, at least not this time.

Use the Metro and walk uphill or take the tram on a weekday afternoon to capture a wide expanse of the city. Get tickets to tour the basilica. Lounge below on the grassy hill and people-watch to catch your breath. Stroll downhill and explore the shops that cater to tourists and get an ice cream or a portrait. Be aware of the thick crowds on weekends, holidays, clear weather and wedding shots.

There are many touristy things to do in Paris, but this one…is my absolute favorite. It’s bustling outside, and the steps offer an incredible view of Paris at any time of day. Step inside the church and you’re greeted with near silence compared to outside, sans a shuffle here or there. It truly is a special place. Make sure to walk around the entire thing inside, maybe even rest on the pews and consider your spirit. Make sure this is on your list. Also, for a little workout and eye candy, take the stairs on the left side as you’re coming up the hill / down the hill. :)

A majestic basilica that stands on a long tradition of devotion and sacrifice. A relatively modern architecture (135 years+), the building is a balance Greek cross structure with a dome that rivals the Eiffel tour in altitude. The various stations within the church allows you to complete a jubilee path of redemption and reflection. To access the basilica you can walk up the path from the garden downhill near a carousel. There are multiple vantage points for a panoramic view (or you can pay 7 euros to go up the church tower for an even better view). Audio guide is freely available on the app Tupuy. Friday 3pm is the votive service (in French) of the sacred heart where the historical organ would be played, with chanting led by a Benedictine sister. Before you head off, don't forget to check out the historic (12th century) church nearby (Saint Pierre).

The view from the hill will deserve your effort to go up stairs. You can see the entire city of Paris, and sunset view is breathtaking especially. If necessary, you can take a cable car to get there. The interior of the building is also exquisite. Worth visiting when you come to Paris though it is located a bit far from the central area. Highly recommended.

Another must see. Would also recommend the Crypt and the Dome, great views from the latter. Would also recommend the funicular rather than the steps, lots of steps!! Viewed twice...both times interesting. Caught a picture of the Eiffel tower surrounded by fog from this vantage point. Many people will go to Sacre-Coeur to sit on the step and watch the sunset, and this is definitely a beautiful place to watch the sunset, but don't miss going inside and seeing the beautiful interior of the church! It is such a treasure - inside and outside!

Spectacular!! Beautiful to walk through inside the church. If you can, walk up to the dome top. I filmed it and it took my about 5 minutes to walk the almost 300 steps. The views from the top of dome are breathtaking. The stained glasses were stunning to admire. Everyone walked through the church respectfully and quietly. This is a must add location to visit while in Paris and especially with Notre Dame closed for repairs. If you’re bold and healthy, do what I did, walk from the Louvre to the Basilica. So many popular little neighborhoods to pass through

Beautiful basilica, freely available to visit, also during the prayer time. We waited maybe 15 min in line to enter and it was well worthed. Inside of basilica was beautiful, felt very nice. We walked through all available places and nicely enjoyed the atmosphere. What we liked is that we could light a prayer candle and purchase a small saint picture from inside the church. Lovely lovely place.

Entrance to the Basilica is free, and the queue moves very fas. This is only because there is a check-in point. You can pray, light candles and offer intentions for your loved ones. The basilica has different altars of many saints, the archangel Michael, our lady star of the sea and the sacred heart. Also, there are coins souvenir machines if you are the type that likes to collect coins. You can also have a panorama view of the city from on top of the Basilica and the steps of the basilica gives a spectacular view. Also, you would be entertained by a lot of street artists, fun train and persons selling different types of souvenirs.

This is a must-visit! Plus, it’s free to enter. The building is magnificent inside and outside, and the view is spectacular. The trek up the 222 steps was exhausting, but it’s now checked off my bucket list. You have another option to take the lift to the top, but you still have to climb a few more steps to reach the church. There’s also the option to go to the dome for an even more spectacular view, but there’s no elevator, so it involves more stairs, which I opted out of. When in Paris, it’s a must.

Stunning basilica, both inside and out, capitalized only by the Parisian views offered from its heights. Built in response to the losses from the Franco-Prussian War, the basilica is made out of white limestone that dazzles. The basilica is operational and has several programs and services going at any given time. The inside of the multi domed edifice contains frescoes, statuary, and stained glass in its many chapel alcoves. Entry is free but entry to the dome for some of the best views of Paris is 7 Euro, and worth every bit.

It is a beautiful white cathedral spotted at a really high place of the French capital, Paris. From there is possible to see almost whole city. And to get inside of the edification is possible too, from where you can have even better view of Paris, after climbing the tower. The inside is also nice. Other nice touristic place of this city!!!

What a beautiful place to start or end your day in Paris. I actually did both. It is quite magical to get there early in the morning before all of the crowds. The view looking out over Paris is phenomenal.

This gorgeous walk up, includes some of the most beautiful architecture that I have seen in churches. You are able to see the entire skyline of Paris, as well as enjoy the beautiful gardens which surround the area. I was lucky enough to get engaged in the gardens, where there happened to be no tourist, and created a beautiful moment that I will remember forever.

Beautiful holy place, whenever I'm in Paris I make sure to visit. Check their online schedule for mass if you want to attend the service. They have several timings per day. Although the queue to enter looks long but it moves really fast. They have a dedicated area for prayers otherwise you can have a tour all around from the inside.

My favourite sacred space in France. Here my Soul is nourished and faith restored. The quiet sanctuary of the crypt, the beautiful mosaics, the energy of perpetual prayer all permeate my being with peace. Ignore the locals who sit around drinking alcohol on the steps and you will find it to be wonderful by day or night.

The Basilica itself is iconic, and the view across Paris is great. The roads up to the Basilica are very steep, but there is a Funicular train that will take you to the base of the grounds. It is a good idea to go early to avoid the crowds. The gardens to the front are nice and a good place to rest in.

It’s a classic tourist place but it is just great. I go there every few years and still love it. Great views, fantastic church and when it isn’t full of tourists a lovely place to walk.

I live in Paris for 10 years but it was the first time I actually visited the basilica inside. It looks even more beautiful from inside than from outside. In the same time, it is nicely calm for a prayer. I spent there few hours.

Very beautiful place. We took metro to get there, then a small tram to go up so we saved some energy for late. Not too many people these times due to covid. People were playing music and singing. Then we walked down to moulin rouge which was not too far. The view from this place was marvelous

This place is not only one of the most recognizable sights in Paris but one of the most special as well. Despite the the large crowds that come here every day, the view of the city and the experience once inside is well worth it. The warmth and connection the church provides is second to none, and we were also blessed enough to catch the end of one of the services that morning. Admission is also free so no reason to skip out on visiting. One thing I want to warn about though is to be careful of the scammers that operate on the bottom portion of the steps leading up the hill to the church, they're relentless. The best approach is to just ignore everything they say and watch your pockets and bags. Once you're halfway up the stairs you should be fine.

Top of my must-visit list for when you’re in Paris. Not only can you get a panorama view of the city, the architecture of the church will also take your breath away. I recommend taking a stroll down the streets in the back of the church where it’s less crowded but still has many interesting stowaway spots for pictures.

This was a very beautiful place to visit in Paris, the view over the city is astonishing, special at the sun set. There is always public animation with street artists. Close by there is a plaza with a lot of restaurants and souvenir shops where artists will try to paint your portrait, if this is your option, choose wisely.

Well worth the climb up the stairs for a magnificent view of Paris and a prayer on the top of Montmartre. There's a cable lift on the left side at the price of a subway fare each way. I enjoyed the portrait artists on the surrounding area behind the church.

Once again amazing architecture inside and out, great view of the city, especially in the evening. You can get inside for free. You can buy a padlock for couples and lock it on the fence in front of the chapel as a symbol of your love. J'aime Paris!

Incredibly stunning, inside and out. Pictures don't do it justice. When my daughter and I reached the top of the stairs and caught the first glimpse, it completely took our breath away (and not just because we were panting from the all the stairs ;oD). And the inside was just as beautiful.

Even as a non religious person, this is such a beautiful place. The view of the city from it makes it even better. The atmosphere is amazing on the outside with a man playing an accordion! The church itself is so beautiful as well. Worth the many steps I had to go up!!!

It's one of the most beautiful architecture in Paris. You can just sit in front of this basilica and admire it's beauty for hours. The area in which this is located can bea bit dodgy. We were approached by several people selling few things or asking for help. I don't mind all that but my concern were the pick pockets who keep following you and distract you. Had a couple of bad experiences of that here!

  • 5/5 Rose V. 2 years ago on Google
Sacre Coeur is a must in Paris and if you want to be more adventurous try getting there by 6.30am in Winter for an early mass very few people attend it) and when it finishes you can see the day starting in Paris or alternatively get there even early for sunrise in Summer. The steps to the church will be empty at that time and you are almost guaranteed to get a great picture of them and the church without crowds to spoil your photos. If you are not a morning person, go to a mass at 10.30pm. Super atmospheric. You are not allowed to take pictures inside. Don't forget to take some change to donate because although entry is free, it takes a small fortune to keep that building going. Finally, if you are planning a romantic holiday in Paris, take your time to place a padlock in the fence. You can buy them locally.

Highly recommendable to visit and use the funicular if you have been walking around Paris for a long time. The funicular pass is also included in the navego card (100% recommended for a one-week stay as it includes all public transport). I recommend you to visit the interior and the dome to see Paris from the heights... but... you must not have vertigo! The descent of Sacre-Coeur by the staircase and garden... the view from below is incredible.

Fabulous architectonic piece, with great view on the city. Nice galleries inside to look at, the right atmosphere inside and options to light a candles or buy tourist coins. I really appreciate time, honest work given to this structure with all its aspects. I really recommend visiting this place.

Beautiful building built on the hilltop of Paris. Would highly recommend the visit. Walking up is not too bad, but be cautious of pickpockets, lots of hagglers and how busy it is too! Really quiet inside and would recommend taking a seat to soak in the energy of the placd

Sacré-Cœur is so beautiful. Definitely worth the climb up the many many steps! You can walk around inside the church (entry is free) and attend mass if you choose, There is also the option to climb up to the dome. This is €7 and about 300 steps via a spiral staircase. Gorgeous views from the top. A passage runs around the outside of the dome. If you don't like heights, be aware you can't get more than 1m from the edge! It's very open so you can lean right out.. Gorgeous views! I read, before our visit, to be aware of the 'string-men' at the bottom of the steps, who try to tie string bracelets onto your wrist, and once they have, they demand whatever money they wish. One guy kept tapping my arm despite me saying "Non, Merci" several times. So make sure to just keep walking!

Wonderful church with fabulous views over Paris. We decided to get a taxi as it is a very hilly climb, so not for the faint hearted. Entry to the church is free but a small charge to go up the tower and 292 steps! Be prepared to queue when visited on Sunday Mass as we did but the queues went down very quickly. Lovely place to visit.

One of the most famous cathedrals on the hill in Paris city Northern side. You may take the transit to the nearby station and then walk up from there. I would not recommend coming with babies or if you have a stroller that needs a flat around to get up. there are quite a lot of stairs. Entrance to the entrance of free. donation is appreciated. It is a nice place to walk around for a break and get seated and reflect on yourself.

This building is so amazingly beautiful. You have to climb a hell lot of stairs to get there, but it is so worth it. Be sure to go early in the day, so it isn't crowded yet. We went a little after sunrise and it was so lovely to walk around there. You also get a very nice overview of the city. We did not go inside, but if we ever go back to Paris we definitely will.

  • 5/5 Stefan T. 1 year ago on Google
A beautiful building with an outstanding view. The stained glass is in a more modernist style, text is added so there is no doubt to the the meaning. The design is exquisite. Amazing view from the tower of the building and of you are lucky enough to get a glimpse of the sunset it will totally be worth being cold atop of the tower. One of my favorite places in Paris.

  • 5/5 Jimmy F. 9 months ago on Google
This place was unexpected. Our tour guide took us here without having known of it prior to going and boy were we surprised how beautiful and amazing it was! From the first time we saw it while walking up through the alley to the time spent walking through the church to admire all the detail we were captivated! And if that wasn’t enough when you walk out you will see some of the best views of Paris! It is well worth the trip! Do some research before going if you require any assistance getting around as there are cobble streets and a steady incline getting to and leaving the area.

  • 5/5 Jose Ferri T. 9 months ago on Google
We were not sure if it was worth a visit while in Paris. No doubt, it was worth it. Two drawbacks: First, it is not near the city center (like 30 minutes by subway). Second, you need to be prepared to climb the stairs. Or, you can take a small lift that will take you to the Basilica. The Basilica itself is stunning. It is free to visit (you only need to pay if you want to go to the dome). I didn't go to the dome. Either way, you will have beautiful panoramic views regardless you go to the dome or not.

It is worth visiting this place. You can get here easily by metro. Beautiful views up the top after climbing up the stairs. Nice place to take your drink and snack to spend the evening. You will find so many souvenirs shops on your way back as well. Also there was amazing football trick entertainment over there during our visit. :)

  • 5/5 G A C. 4 months ago on Google
Highly recommended to go visit this Basilica. More than the church itself, the best part is the neighborhood around it, bohemian style neighborhood where van Gogh, Picasso and others lived. Many different shops, and restaurants with live music and great variety of food. There’s a train station that leaves you close by and then you have to walk uphill. Then you have to go many stairs up yet. There is a cable car/lift, which is very helpful to alleviate most of the walking uphill. Some downside (more than this neighborhood and Basílica, it may be more Paris in general) some restaurant workers and other locals only speak French, which makes you wonder why are they in the tourist and hospitality industry if they’re going to treat clients with an attitude. It’s OK to only speak your language , but don’t give clients or tourists a hard time.

  • 5/5 Los H. 4 months ago on Google
It is definitely worth the visit, very beautiful. The area around it is charming as well. Lots of places to get food and theres also a funicular that goes up the hill if you want to avoid the stairs. It can take some time to go up and down the stairs when it is crowded so make sure you schedule enough time for your visit!

The basilica is located at the summit of the Montmartre. From its dome two hundred meters above the Seine, the basilica overlooks the entire city of Paris and its suburbs. It is the second most popular tourist destination in Paris after the Eiffel Tower. Free entrance. Impressive interior. Worth a visit.

  • 5/5 Aidid R. 4 months ago on Google
Atop the hill of Montmartre, the Sacré-Cœur stands as a beacon of beauty and serenity amidst the bustling city of Paris. Even without venturing inside, I was captivated by the sheer grandeur of its architecture, its pristine white exterior gleaming under the Parisian sun. The soaring domes and intricate carvings exuded an aura of spirituality and artistry that left me awestruck. As I climbed the steps leading up to the basilica, the panoramic view of Paris unfolded before me, a breathtaking tapestry of rooftops, landmarks, and the winding Seine River. The city's energy pulsed beneath me, yet the Sacré-Cœur's tranquil presence provided a sanctuary of peace and reflection. This iconic landmark is not just a place of worship; it is an embodiment of Parisian spirit, a testament to human creativity, and a source of inspiration for all who behold it.
