Only went in for the viewing gallery, but it's free and the view is great! Really chilled atmosphere, although it was a Monday. Probably be a little hell over the weekend. I'm sure the art and museum are also very good.

Visited it twice for one week. Loved it! Good value for the money and it’s working till late (compared to other museums!). Plus - the view is gorgeous in the evening. My strategy was to visit other museums and after they close - to visit Pompidou. After that - grab a bite at the countless nearby food places. The whole area is very vivid and full with young people. PS: you need to experience the Library in the building - it’s packed with valuable books and cozy places to read. Also there’s a separate mini exhibition in it (or at least we saw one at the time of visit). The library could be a great free coworking space, too. But keep in mind that you have to be very quiet :) as in every other library. Let me know if this review was helpful :)

Amazing place, building is beautiful and has so many things inside, art gallery, museum, library, cafe, restaurants, shop, cinema. So much fun to go up the glass tube escalators. Parts of it free. Best of all are the two roof terraces with wonderful views over Paris. Top tip: you can go and see the view from one of the roof terraces for free!

One of my favourite places during my Paris trip. It was a nice and refreshing breather from all the over saturation of renaissance and classical museums. It’s it quite a large museum and one can easily be submerged into for the whole day. When we went there were about 30% of the galleries not open but we still ended leaving without having explored the entire museum. We went in the late afternoon so there weren’t too much people at the ticket office. However I’d still recommend getting tickets online before hand just for convenience. The top two floors are your more “classic” modern art/paintings showcasing artists who paved the way for contemporary art. The bottom three floors are more your 21st century modern art, installations and I think would be much more interesting to younger people. The rooftop is definitely a must as it gives you a beautiful panoramic view of the entire city including the Eiffel Tower. We were there during sunset and the view was absolutely stunning. Their hours also open up til quite late 9pm so it’s a nice place to visit at night. Overall we all really loved this place, highly recommend!

I loved it! If you like contemporary art and art of the XX century it's the place you shouldn't miss. I recommend buying tickets online to avoid waiting in line. The place is spacious and even there is a crowd it is not too overwhelming and you can walk and see everything very leisurely. It takes a lot of time to see everything so plan a whole day for this place. It has a restaurant and a beautiful library. From the top of the stairs there's a beautiful view of the city and that is a little plus to all you can see here.

A modern art museum with some “classic” paintings from Impressionist and Abstractionist. Very nice views over Paris and overall a good selection of modern art (paintings, installation and sculpture).

We only visited the restaurant on the top floor because we have been in the art section before. The nice thing is you can go all the way to the top and to the restaurant without paying any entrance fee. It's fun to ride the escalators on the outside of the building. The restaurant is very elegant and upscale with appropriately upscale prices. But the presentation of the food is very nice and of course the view spectacular.

Very interesting museum but some parts were past interesting and more creepy. Contemporary art can go in many ways and is always changing which makes this museum always interesting but also difficult at times to understand. Worth the visit and only takes about 2hrs.

So, if you like modern art, cubism, abstract art or anything that is different from old classical art, it's worth going. I like it, so I went. Many works of very good quality, be prepared for at least two or three hours to visit in a building with special architecture.

Really cool spot! Less famous than the Louvre, but I enjoyed it every bit as much. The modern art can be a little hit or miss, but I loved seeing the evolution from early 20th century — contemporary present. And some of the art was really cool / thought-provoking. The Centre itself has lovely architecture with impeccable colors and design. Loved the city view from the top of the escalators. Happy I went!

There’s really not much one can say in a negative way about the Centre Pompidou. This is an exceptional piece of architecture was an exceptional collection of modern art. We did not have any difficulty gaining access to the museum, purchasing our tickets in advance in the plaza the morning we arrived. we ascended to the top of the museum via the external people, movers, which offer beautiful views of the city of Paris. Inside, we found a fantastic show on photography, and a Picasso retrospective. The permanent collection is also incredible, and you stumble across small set aside spaces with exhibits of special interest. It was 40 years since I last visited the Centre Pompidou, and I am glad that I had the opportunity to visit once more. It is truly a special place, well worth visiting if you are in Paris.

A striking building in central Paris filled with equally fascinating art. We were lucky enough to be in Paris for the first Sunday in November and managed to get free tickets to the museum as part of a city wide initiative. It was very busy, but it’s such a huge place that it was easy to enjoy without huge crowds. There was some great art, peculiar art, thought provoking art and some arguable art (but surely that’s the beauty of art - it’s in the eye of the beholder). It was a great place to spend a few hours exploring. There were also some great views from the 5th floor. My personal thoughts about the experience was although it was interesting, if I was paying full price for a ticket, I would want to see more focus on making the museum more interactive, as the guides were very basic and printed on paper. Overall, it’s a great place to spend a few hours in Paris if you’re looking for something interesting and thought provoking to do.

A very nice contemporary museum that also features a nice cafe, bookstore and outdoor resting area for Paris skyline view that you get when entering from outside. This is also one of the few museums that opens on Monday and there is that many people if you book ticket ahead of time.

fantastic center and fantastic Art! recommended by a friend, we had to check it out. Because of my disability, I had free access to all the exhibitions (free companion ticket if needed). The rainbow exhibition (August 2023) was stunning and just amazing. They center is quite big, so you need to bring a little bit of time if you want to explore everything. I can highly recommend the view from above! Thank you very much for being very kind and inspiring!

(Translated by Google) It is a polycultural establishment born from the desire of President Georges Pompidou, a great lover of modern art, to create in the heart of Paris an original cultural institution entirely devoted to modern and contemporary creation where the visual arts would be associated with books, drawing, music as well as cinema. Beautiful place inside and out. We can go a whole day without seeing the time go by. Very nice view over Paris on the top floor. Careful, work in progress the national museum of modern art will notably have to undergo asbestos removal and a total renovation. It will close “completely” from the end of 2023 to the beginning of 2027.

Lovely Museum, one of my personal favourites in Paris. Great for anyone who’s in love with modern art. Even if you are not, the vast collection will surely provide with great insights in the world of art in the past century more generally. Moreover, love the architecture of the place and the shop with all its great gadgets and piece of interior design.

If you like art then this is a great place to go. Open eyes and mind to some of the material on display but the overall experience on all the different floors is excellent. Love the escalator up the side and enjoyed all the art on display. Definitely a must do for Art lovers. Some permanent and temporary exhibitions. We had less than two hours and rushe around - recommend 3 hours.

Easily my favorite museum in Paris and probably the only one i felt i did not get enough time in. The art is 10/10, the exhibits are all stunning, it’s not overly crowded, it’s well-curated with really famous pieces of work/artists work. It’s a piece of artwork itself with all the levels and tubes. There’s great food nearby and lots to see and do just outside the museum. It was relatively easy to navigate with a stroller compared to several other places we went.

The Centre Pompidou, situated in the heart of Paris, is an architectural landmark known for its innovative design. Opened in 1977, it's named after former President Georges Pompidou. This cultural center houses the National Museum of Modern Art, showcasing an extensive collection of 20th-century masterpieces by artists such as Picasso, Kandinsky, and Duchamp. It also features temporary exhibitions, a library, cinema, and stunning city views from its top level. This cultural icon is a must-visit for enthusiasts of modern and contemporary art.

Great place, wonderful view and extraordinary exhibitions, probably one of the most impressive collections of our time. But please, what is wrong with your staff? Really, what is wrong with them? If it is their job to encourage visitors to go away and rather visit another museum then they are doing a fantastic job. Please guys be polite to the people who come to visit your place it will really help you survive the competition with all the other fantastic museums in Paris, otherwise people will only come for the view and this won't get you any money...

A visit to Paris isn't complete without going to the Centre Pompidou. The building itself is a piece of art, with an industrial look and tubes through which stairs run. The museum consists of many floors, with both temporary and permanent exhibitions. We visited the permanent exhibition on the 4th floor. This one included many famous artists and different art styles, both modern and impressionism. There's enough space between the paintings to let you focus on every piece and the details. On the top of the building, you have a fantastic view over Paris, and also a terrace. The public library is also huge and recommended to visit. 4.6/5.0

Very extensive and modern collection of art here at the Pompidou. Worth a visit if you like Picasso or Kandinsky etc. Nice gallery space on the top floor, and you can go an sit outside on a bench or a deck chair during your visit. The floor below that had many installations which were interesting just personally not my cup of tea, however I’m glad I went! The architecture of the building is also very interesting in its itself; I found it quite intimidating but cool nonetheless. Unfortunately there were building works when we visited so couldn’t use the cool escalators.

A classic for modern/contemporary art lovers when in Paris. They have master exhibitions several times a year, really of excellent quality. The Georgia O’Keefe was excellent. Im so glad that I was able to visit this museum and submerged myself into more contemporary art. I came when it was an hour and some minutes to closing time following an advice from a review to avoid a heavy crowd. The time spent was good enough to be delighted by the works of Picasso, Kandinsky and other talented artists. I was also able to enjoy a pretty Paris sunset view. Since it was near the closing time I've felt more of a relaxed atmosphere and the staff were courteous and sweet. I would love to be back again!

Excellent museum. I think highlights were the building and views. Made it feel like a science museum, yet there’s incredible contemporary art inside. This place was a little more lax with reservations. I didn’t go in with my assigned timing and they were super casual. The terraces outside are covered and provide a spectacular view of the city. My fave was that you could just sit there and catch your breathe and relax before moving on to other pieces.

There was an interesting child’s leisure place at the entrance and if you have booking it is easier to enter. Children seemed happy to play there. The cafe doesn’t offer many options to eat.

Very cool museum of modern and contemporary art. I entered it at 11:30 and left at 16:00. During my stay I had time to visit the two floors of permanent exhibition, one of the temporary exhibitions and chill at the viewpoint. The art is interesting, they have some pieces which are quite famous. The view point has the best view I saw in Paris, you can see many of the famous places from it. I recommend buying a time slotted tickets online in advance. At the day I was visiting they had a huge line for the people who wanted to buy a ticket on the spot.

Best contemporary art museum I’ve ever visited. Gives MoMA a run for its money! You can’t truly understand the grandeur of this place unless you are there yourself. Next time I am in Paris, I will be sure to visit Le Pompidou again. Also, if you’re feeling peckish during your visit there, they have an AMAZING rooftop restaurant called Georges. The food is to die for, and so is the view. Do yourself a favor and visit this museum if you want to experience authentic Parisian culture without the swarms of tourists or the overpriced tourist traps.

I was able to attend twice, the first time I coincided with the Jeff Koons exhibition, which occupied the entire upper floor. This second round, I was not so lucky. The 3 stars are because I found the cost of admission to be disproportionate. (Original) Museo de arte moderno, muy interesante, por la variedad que presenta. A masterpiece created by Richard Rogers and Renzo Piano. The museum has a wide collection of world class modern and contemporary art. All the art work was curated in chronological order which helps visitors to navigate. They also have a very impressive architecture section which will attract and allow architecture lovers to understand the local architecture and architecture around the world whether if it is modern or not. Will definitely visit again.

Great museum for modern and contemporary art. Don't let the external size deter you, because the collection spans "only" on two floors. Pretty unique and iconic pieces, some marked as VIP (in Red). Guided tours offer a glimpse to the museum highlights and the guides are knowledgeable and collaborative in their explanations.

Museum of Modern Art, with a building with questionable architecture (it gets a little better at night, lit up), presents a collection with beautiful Kandinskys, Matisses, a Polock (not from its best phase, as they are all in New York), Picassos , Duchamp's famous bicycle wheel, Miró trying to be Monet with his blue triptych, a bride by Chagall, Klee and other exponents of modern and contemporary art. It is not unanimous, like the L'Orangerie Museum, but it is worth the visit.

The Centre Pompidou is really worth visiting if you are looking for some unique and creative artwork. The building itself is of an unusual design and is interesting in its layout. I found the art here to be more modern and interactive than that which would be found in a normal museum. While I was there an artist called Pierre Huyghe had an exhibition and it was some of the most unique work I had ever seen. I highly recommend visiting The Centre Pompidou!

The collection of contemporary arts are magnificent. The featured art exhibition is excellent as well! As for the building of Centre Pompidou itself, it is not so good in my humble opinion, I am afraid. It feels more of city shopping mall, instead of an arts venue. With that said, Pompidou is still a great place to visit if you can spare a few hours.

Home of the world-class Musée National d'Art Moderne. It is the largest, and one of the greatest, collections of modern art in the world and is *not* to be missed by any art lover in Paris. It's a little pricy but it's worth the cost of admission. Leave your conceptions at the door and enter a world of artistic experimentation. I'd recommend leaving aside at least half a day to explore the musée. The building itself is one of the world's best examples of high-tech architecture with it's iconic outdoor escalators. The collection covers 20th-century and contemporary art. For earlier modern art, go to the Musée d'Orsay. If you're just a fan of Picasso, you might prefer the nearby Musée Picasso instead

A high-tech structure with inside-out construction that startled its Parisian neighbors. Most French presidents like to leave their own architectural mark on Paris, none more so than Georges Pompidou, Gaullist prime minister from 1962 to 1968 and president from 1969 until 1974. It is ironic that this conservative statesman is associated with one of the most radical, futuristic buildings of the age. Designed by Briton Richard Rogers and Italian Renzo Piano, the building established Rogers’s signature mark of exposing a building’s services, such as water and air conditioning, in pipes on the outside. Rudely, some critics dubbed this style Bowellism, and the building was unpopular in many architectural circles when it opened in 1977. An artistic success story. The building—known colloquially as the Beaubourg due to the area of Paris in which it stands—is 149 ft (45.5 m) tall. Its outer framework is covered with brightly colored pipes, ducts, and external elevators. Inside, the building houses the largest modern art museum in Europe, an experimental music center, and a library.

It has a very unique circulation pattern in and around the building. So you have to take time and visit the entire complex .. it's very big for one day. We didn't experience the queues everyone is writing about in other reviews, but we came on the 1st January, maybe that was the reason. Though, it was quite crowded. The cafe inside was extremely expensive. The exhibition itself is quite inconsistent and strange, with no obvious logic behind the exhibition -- years and painters could be mixed in the same room without an obvious connection between them. Audioguides, chatbots and maps make the situation even worse, because in all of them there are no obvious connections whatsoever, so you're constantly struggling to understand what's going on and why/where is the painting they highlight as VIP in the map or in the guide (sometimes, they're even different). Audioguides are also extremely long -- 8 minutes for a singular painting -- with a lot of unnecessary biographical information, not connected to art pieces or simple self-praising of Pompidou's collection. Positive side is that the collections has a lot of famous artists from around the world, which could help to see the development of art thought in 20th century.

I absolutely loved this museum and all of the Picasso work that they held! There are multiple floors with multiple pieces of art and you could spend a couple hours in here. They do have a theater, a kids area playground, and I believe a restaurant, but we've just visited the museum. They have a tube escalator that you go up to the museum and the rooms are set up conveniently so you can circle one and then visit the next. There is a lot to see here! Some of the works are more modern and obscure downstairs, which is perfectly fine by me. The upstairs held a lot of classic works and a few of my new favorites! There was even a room styled like an artistic cave with white walls and back lines that you could go inside of! With some designer clothing displayed, too, with the matching art they represent. And, I even liked the layout and look of the building, I know it is very unusual almost subway piping style outside with lots of colors in between some of the historical architecture but I thought it looked like a lot of fun and there was quite a few people there. Nice shops and cafes outside, too!

Great museum, book your ticket online to avoid crowds. If you enjoy modern art and art in general, you won't be disappointed - masterpieces from Kadinsky to Picasso. There are many temporary exhibitions to visit as well. Love the bookshop, too. The views from the top floor are amazing.

Totally underrated museum. It houses a collection of modern arts, abstract paintings and sculptures. The lobby is very wide and clean and the reception can be easily located as it is at the center of the lobby. There are shops inside the ground floor and a restaurant at the top floor. The restrooms are very well maintained when I visit. To experience the museum, you have to spend an average of 3 hours on all levels. The escalator is kind of fun tho.

Huge Art museum for modern art! I recommend you book your tickets in advance to skip the line. Definitely go see it if you’re into art history! But keep in mind it’ll take much more than a day if you’d really want to see it all.

  • 5/5 Rachel N. 9 months ago on Google
I was overwhelmed by the colorful art party in Pompidou (literally). The vibrant colors and huge works of art took my breath away. It took me at least more than 3 hours in there (that's why I move pretty quickly). So you need to arrive at least 4 hours before closing time. Book your tickets in advance (although you'll still have to wait) but there's less of a wait if it's not the weekend. They have a restaurant - cafe - library and bookstore inside the museum (you can go there for free because the museum entrance is on the top floor and only when entering the attraction you need to check the ticket They will be closing for a few years soon for renovation and renovation of the museum so it is highly recommended that everyone visit Europe's largest Contemporary and Modern Museum before it's too late.

It is an art museum that boasts a beautiful exterior and very nice facilities inside. It would be a good idea to enter from the 0th floor and go straight to the museum on the 5th floor to view the works on the 5th and 4th floors. The 5th floor is equipped with rooftop facilities, so if you go to the rooftop, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Eiffel Tower and the Sacré-Coeur Basilica on Montmartre Hill. You can see a variety of works of art, including paintings, video works, sculptures, and spatial works. I can say that it is one of the places you must visit if you travel to Paris.

Great view of Paris. The architecture of the building is unique sometimes it looks like it’s an unfinished construction, not all know this fact: The entrance to the library and the roof is free, but, tickets are required to see the exhibitions. Escalators will take you all the way to the top floor, where you can find a restaurant with a view of Paris and variety of food (a little expensive)

  • 4/5 Gabi H. 4 months ago on Google
We had tickets, but still had to stand in line for the best part of an hour. And then again for the lockers which were all occupied when we came, and for the toilets too. The art is amazing, and the building is quirky, but it needs improvements regarding logistics. They will close down for renovation for 5 years in 2025, hope they will improve the visitor flows.

The Centre Pompidou is a great place to visit. It took a bit of time getting inside the place, but when you managed your way in, it's an amazing place. The entrance is like a big hall where you can go to the individual exhibitions. Some are free for people who are younger than 26 and some you need a ticket. I bought my ticket in advance. You can access all levels with an escalator or an elevator. It even has a library! From the top floor you have a great view over paris. The museum has a gift store and a caffe/restaurant. I've seen various exhibitions!

still one of the world’s most important contemporary and modern art museum. On one hand it has a huge exhibition portraying most important eorks of last century with a wide array of international artists (whcih all are somewhat linked to paris), e.g: Kandisnsky, Breton, Miró, Picasso in regards to painting. On the other hand, the venue still maintains an important exhibition program dedicated to contemporary practices they also have a very important freely accessible library. however, note that it can usually be quite busy. Tip: don’t miss the view from the last floor! The building is ingrained with french contemporary history as well
