A somber place to visit, but I am so glad we took the time and opportunity to add this into our schedule. As someone from the US, to see a memorial for those sent to the camps was heart-wrenching. I am glad there is a memorial dedicated to their lives. Its free and not very large, but if you take the time to read through the exhibits which are in a few languages, it's worth spending a bit of time here.

Place you should visit in Paris to understand the French people went through. It was very informative. You can get the information on English, French, German languages

I’m honestly very very VERY disappointed with this place, it is not because it is a poor memorial, it’s fantastic, but their customer service is ridiculous. On the website they pride themselves on educating the public, they include information and teacher kits, yet when we arrived in a group and realized that they did not take groups. They wouldn’t even allow them to go in four at a time or two at a time. We said we would divide up and go to other locations and wouldn’t linger and they still said absolutely not. I don’t understand why a memorial would refuse people from paying their respects ESPECIALLY when they are abiding by your rules. Terrible customer service. The man said “you are making me tired!” And waved his hand in my face and shewed me away. As a history teacher, and someone whose family was tragically affected by WWII, with military background whose finally in Paris, I couldn’t be more angry and disappointed.

Very moving and worth the visit. In a city of ancient wonders, it is good to remember the not so distant past. The memorial was unique and thought provoking. Right behind Notre Dame, so give it a visit. It brings on all the feels, but is needed to help remember what so many suffered.

Unfortunately one of Paris's best-kept secrets, right behind Notre Dame. A small but powerful memorial and museum, in which you can spend a few minutes or hours. Free of charge, no need to reserve, but you might want to call ahead to make sure the place isn't closed to the public during your time slot for school or other groups.

(Translated by Google) One of the most pleasant surprises walking in Paris and on its bridges! Literally ... I fell on it twenty minutes before it closed! You do not expect to find it where it's waiting for you. You do not expect its beauty. You do not expect to be so surprised by its importance and simplicity. Free entrance.

An incredibly interesting experience. What particularly stood out to me was how hostile the architecture felt. Outside, the walls trapped you and inside the atmosphere felt similarly oppressive. It reminded rof your own mortality, in a way. The best memorial of its kind in my opinion.

Such a lovely and respectful memorial for all those that ultimately lost their lives. Some information boards do not have English translations, so use Google translate camera to read.

It is a space that realizes the cruel traces of World War II. Not only the photographs and exhibitions of the time, but also the special structure, it is possible to feel the fear of the prisoners. I think that this space of cruelty and horror is not created underground. It is recommended as a place to visit rather than a restaurant in Paris.

This seems to be a hidden gem near the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris. Our group was the only ones there on a midday. This really hits home to how impactful WWII was and the impact that the Nazi's had in such an outreaching area. It really makes you understand how life was like for everyone in the early 1940's. Some of the information will astound everyone. For a WWII student this will really shine as a place to have to stop by in Paris. It is a very emotional place.

(Translated by Google) A discreet, calm and simple place allowing to get into the atmosphere desired by the architect. The entrances are narrow and high all made of stone, making it possible to feel suffocated, stuck in an attempt to plunge us into the hell of what people may have gone through at the time. Strong quotes set in stone as if not to forget. You have to go, you have to feel this sensation, and realize the human drama of the time.

(Translated by Google) A museum with an important mission is not to forget the horrors of history and to remember the victims of forced deportation. Located near Notre Dame. Most of the museum is underground. Visiting will not take much time. Cons of the museum - some hostile staff) You can neither ask anything nor speak to them at all. Well, the bad thing is that the museum is not adapted for people with disabilities.

A powerful reminder of the horrors we have committed against one another. A solemn site to learn and reflect. Never again. The memorial is primarily underground in a rough stone style that is intentionally dark and claustrophobic. The gates to the memorial are not always open, so as other have pointed out, you may end up visiting the garden above without seeing the memorial below.

Unfortunately, the Memorial closed during our visit. It was renovated due to flood damage. The small park was very nice and quiet! Good to have a rest, from the tourist crowds at the Notre Dame.

(Translated by Google) It's a little strange to rate this place of memory. This is another category of places to visit. So that people do not forget about what happens when 2 tyrants in different countries come to power at the same time with total blindness and worship. I had a great time during the Secret Food Tour in Montmartre, Paris with PJ! We didn't have any main courses so to speak, but many samples of breads, cheeses, cold cuts of meat and sweets. Everything was delicious, we had a great time! Plus the alcohol was yummy too, and PJ our guide made everything fun with plenty of history and info on the food to soak up too! I would recommend this tour!

We had such a great time with Kristoph in Montmartre in Paris. He was incredibly knowledgeable with a great wit and story telling ability. He showed us a whole other side of Paris that we wouldn't have seen as general tourists. Plus, THE FOOD! We got to taste a number of cheeses, meats and wines with really neat and easy to understand explanations from the guide. During the tour we also got the chance to go in to the kitchen of a master baker. It was an unforgettable experience. We will absolutely use secret food tours again in other cities we visit.

A beatiful place of memorial. The structure of the building and the architecture enhances the realisation of what happend there, and everywhere else in europe. Wonderfully and respectfully build. Since it is verg close to the Notre Dame, I would reccomend anyone to go there.

Absolute Must when visiting Paris! I feel like I now have seen a side of Paris privy only to the locals. Stéphane was incredibly informative and personalized the tour to the group’s interests. He taught us all about the culture and history of the food we explored. Food is such an integral part of our lives, and to experience a country/city’s cuisines is to experience a part of their identity. Stéphane expertly took us on a journey of discovery. He taught even the local in our group quite a few things.

Highlight of our trip to Paris! We attended the Montmartre secret food tour in March 2020 before the covid madness. Yan was our guide and we had a small Saturday morning group. The stops along the way were delicious and informative. Definitely feel more confident buying French bread and cheeses. The meal afterwards was fun- learned more and enjoyed meeting other tour group members. Enough wine- probably didn’t need upgraded drinks package- or for that matter breakfast in the morning! Come hungry, ready to walk, eat, drink, learn and enjoy! Will consider this tour company for future travels.

We went on the St. Germain tour and enjoyed a lovely 4.5 hour (I think it went over because we just got lost in the food and conversation). We hit up about 5-6 different spots along the way and learned a lot of new stuff about the things we were trying and also Paris. I've been here a few times and I love that a lot of the info wasn't the generic regurgitated stuff I've heard before. By the time we got to the tasting room, our appetites had been whet enough from the little tastings along the way and we were ready to eat and drink. There was plenty of that to go around while we chatted with the other people on the tour. It was really nice. Without giving too much away, we tasted macarons, caramels, freshly baked baguettes, a bunch of cheeses, a couple of wines, charcuterie, foie gras, and our dish of the day was a roasted duck. So good.

Our family booked the Marais food tour last December 24. We learned a lot from Aurora, our guide. She’s passionate about food, sharing with us the history of the French food we sampled in an enjoyable way. As a bonus, she also touched on the history of the Marais areas we passed, and sent a detailed summary of the food tour a few days after. Aurora had a great personality and communicated with us well. The experience was very memorable. We recommend the “Secret Food Tour” brand.

We were 4 (me, my wife, 6 yr. old daughter and family friend) in a group of 14 over Columbus Day Weekend. We chose the Montmarte Morning Food Tour. Our guide was fabulous, Clement Maclou! he was cordial, entertaining, funny, extremely knowledgeable and an AMAZING Host! The Montmarte neighborhood is beautiful, such a quaint area with so much to do. We enjoyed the most amazing crepes, cheeses, wines, chocolates and baguettes. We highly recommend this tour! We are going back to Paris in February and will take another Secret Food Tour; either Latin Quarter or St. Germain.

Alison (our guide) was realy passionate about the food. She knew her way around the neighborhoods and brought us to places I would have never found. Wonderful fresh chocolate and pastries. I did not have to feel guilty about eating so much with all the walking. Montmartre is such an interesting part of Paris.

This was an amazing tour. It was a highlight of our trip and the food was delicious. Our guide was Pierre and he was great. He taught us a bit about the food industry and about the neighborhood Montmartre. I would highly recommend it.

Secret Food Tours with Chloe was great! We visited parts of the city I had not explored so it was the perfect way to eat good food, learn about Paris, and meet new people. Highly recommend this tour.

We did the tour in Montmartre with PJ. The experience was great. PJ has a great deal of knowledge and was enthusiastic in sharing it. We not only learned about the food, but the many historic reasons why the foods are made the way they are. I'd encourage people to do this early in their visit to France so they know more about the food for the rest of their visit. Thanks PJ!

This was my first time in Paris and I REALLY enjoyed this food tour. Nil was our guide and he was very friendly and knowledgeable. We walked around the streets collecting little treasures, then sat down to indulge. There was a big range of cheeses, meats, wine, baguette, and desserts! I also enjoyed listening to some of Paris's History he shared. Highly recommended.

We had so much fun and learned a lot on our tour of Montmartre with Stéphane. He was very knowledgeable, open to questions and discussion, and each stop had a yummy treat!

We had a great day exploring Montmartte with Stafane. He had indepth knowledge of all things French (especially the cuisine of course!) and was such a pleasure to spend the day with. The food we ate was exquisite and the tour provided us with an array of experiences we would not have otherwise had. Highly recommend this tour.

Honestly, it was not what you are thinking. We went to some shops but you do not see much. You are taught a lot about food you never try. You do not see any sights but are told that we are close by. You go to a wine cellar for cheese tasting and wine. The meats were whatever the guide wanted. He even boasted that his friends liked when he works because he takes all the left food we buy home with him. The wine is ok. Do not spend your money for his supper.

A hidden gem. It's very well made and not enough people know of it.

    Very moving memorial and park

We were walking behind Notre Dame when we happened upon this memorial and are so glad we did. This place was not mentioned in the guide books we read, and after walking through the memorial we were frankly surprised. A solemn, sobering, sad and very educational experience. Most of the text was also available in English. A reminder of a time that we cannot be allowed to forget.
