A wonderful museum that captures the heart of Montmartre! The permanent collection is amazing, and the special exhibition of Camoin is wonderful! This museum is a little slice of heaven in the middle of Montmartre! A peaceful courtyard with a cafe for sitting! I loved learning about Suzanne Valadon and seeing her studio.

Just wonderful. A peaceful haven. The history, the garden, the paintings. The best thing I've seen in Paris.

The temporary exhibitions are often with the visit as well the beautiful cafe Renoir. The permanent collection isn't special but the building has some nice rooms

Incredible little museum. We went to many museums during our stay in Paris, and this one was by far our favourite. Incredibly homely feel, not too many staff to make you feel paranoid that you're being watched 24/7. Nice little history video bit at the beginning about Montmartre and the surrounding area. Every member of staff that we encountered were lovely and very patient with my poor French, even the janitors would stop to offer to take a photo and offer a quick conversation, again, despite my lacklustre language skills.

Excellent small museum in a former residence of many known artists. The Camoin exhibit in summer 2022 is special and well worth the visit. The artist workshop of Maurice Utrillo and Suzanne Valadon is an evocative glimpse into that world. Renoir garden is a charming place to sit with a drink from the café.

In love with this place. It felt magical and the information of this place is so nice to know. The garden is peaceful. Too bad the cafe wasn’t open!

Let’s be real folks: a place where Renoir, Picasso and so much other artists used to visit it, should not only deserve 5 stars but the whole universe. The museum is spectacular, and the garden is beyond beautiful. You should go there with time and appreciate that you’re stepping in the same place these people used to go to work on their craft.

Wonderful exhibition on female surrealism with very good speaker. Also a very nice place to enjoy the garden where it is possible to gather food and drinks. A little gem hidden close to the magical streets of Montmartre !

Lovely little museum in beautiful Montmarte. It’s a great way to learn about the area and different artists. There is a permanent collection and a space for changing exhibitions. The space isn’t large so everything was easily digestible in an hour or two without getting visual fatigue. It was also easy to buy tickets as they do not get the same crowds as more popular museums. The gardens are beautiful as well as the wonderful Cafe Renoir. They also have a cute little gift shop with interesting merchandise.

A small museum full of charmes; a real gem worth visiting. Taking a coffee break in the miseo's inner courtyard garden will make you forget that you are so close from the hustle and bustle of tourists who crowd the streets of Montmartre.

Indeed an awesome museum shows case so many art work and unique place where famous artists used to patronize. Given how significant it is, it should have put English subtitle on the introduction video so that all its non French speaking visitors can have a clue what it is all about, especially when there were so many folks from all over the world visiting here.

Was looking forward to this place. It is in a lovely peaceful setting with great views. Was however disappointed that some sections were closed including the café and this was not explained to us when we bought the tickets. We were also not offered audio guides and only realised they were available when we noticed other people using them. Such a shame as it is a lovely place with interesting exhibits.

Not only a museum, but the place where Renoir (among other artists) lived. On top of that you can enjoy the gardens where Renoir painted some of his famous paintings and finish by enjoying a glass of wine in the garden next to where Renoir painted "the swing".

A well curated balance of the history of Montmartre and the art that grew out of those who inhabited and still influence the area. The permanent collection is extensive and gives context to the artists that found such community and inspiration here. The garden spaces allow a reconnection with nature and breaks up the visit. The temporary exhibits are topical and expand on the tradition of creativity. The galleries are an excellent use of the space for effective presentation. The main garden area and cafe provide good food options and beverages. We enjoyed the salade italienne and wine. Good service and seating options were bonuses.

This museum is great if you are interested in late C19th-early C20th history of Montmartre. The exhibits are mainly about Le Chat Noir and cabaret culture, and these are very good. The Commune and Montmartre's agricultural history are also mentioned, but in quite a bit less detail. The gardens are very beautiful and a highlight of the museum - a really lovely quiet spot away from the more touristy areas.

Beautiful with outdoor seating and well tended gardens, and you can imagine Suzanne Valadon living there during a special time of history. You can see the vineyard from inside the museum wall. Staff were very kind and makes the visit even better than expected!

Absolutely loved this little museum! It has so much history about the area and all the artists that worked there. Really insightful to French culture and history and an amazing exhibition! There was a Women in Surrealism exhibition when I went and it was really well done and taught me new art I had never seen! Highly recommend this visit!

Very small museum with small art exhibition and I think its not worth 15 euro per person. It has nice garden in the back yard but we went there during winter time so couldn't enjoy it either. Also we are coming from London where museums are big and most of them are free and hence compared to London museums I found it very poor. Do not recommend to visit this place if you are not into the "art"

Hidden gem up in Montmartre. Small manageable museum / house with a lot of history and a modern / impressionist art collection. Beautiful garden with cafe too. Must visit especially if you're already visiting Sacré Coeur Basilica nearby.

Cute hidden little museum with a lovely garden. We went to the „Surrealisme Feminine“ exhibitin and the price is definitely worth it. Nice to see a all-female artists gallery for a change. The arrangements within the gallery were clean, structured and over all nicely out together. The gardens are beautiful with a cute cafe ond the side. I just wish the gift store would be a bit bigger - besides that there is nothing to complain about this lovely small museum :)

Fun, small museum representing some of the artists who lived and worked in Montmartre, primarily in the late 19th and early 20th century. Good information, great poster art, and really mediocre oil paintings. We especially enjoyed the studio space of Suzanne Valadon, and the exhibitions in the 17th century house.

A gem off the tourist track which still contains in its quiet corners, a real sense of what old Montmartre was like from the 1880s up to the tine of Renoir’s son Jean’s classic film, Les Enfants du Paradis. Fascinating history and evocation of Le Chat Noir, great original illustrations of the period and don’t miss seeing the studio of Suzanne Valadon - authentic and evocative

For those who love ART and ARTISTS, this is a must see. The pacifying silence you'll come across is priceless. There's a film about how MonMartre became a place for artists. You can also see the rooms where some French artists lived and worked. Make sure you to dedicate enough time to visit all possible places inside the museum. They are quite a lot.

How we missed going here all the other times we have been in or through Paris I don’t know. What a delightful respite in the middle of the hectic Montmartre. Very thorough survey of the history and artists of this iconic neighborhood. Well worth the visit. We give it four clams on the coveted Five Quahog rating scale.

In addition to the prominent landmark of the Sacred Heart Basilica, Montmartre also has a different atmosphere from the urban area because of the gathering of artists.

Very cool museum, which is not that crowded and just the right size. It is a great way to learn about the Montmartre neighborhood and the artists living in it some 150 years ago, most notably Renoir, Suzanne Valadon and her son Maurice Utrillo. Be sure to check out also the nice quiet garden that features a café and also panels showing spots of real paintings so you can compare on the spot.

Visited this museum during a summer night for an outdoor intimate concert hosted by fever. The garden was lighted up by candles. Very cosy n romantic. Health pass is mandatory. Toilet available. Staff were pleasant. I really enjoyed my night.

It's an amazing museum which take me back to the early age of Montmartre. The painting, the video, the garden. It's worth a visit.

I am happy I spent £15 here, but it might not be for anyone. First, it is worthwhile to be in Renoir’s house, which has a quite beautiful garden. Two paintings allegedly took place here with the garden being a backdrop. The clematis were gorgeous in early May. The permanent collection itself has no Renoir painting to be clear. It is about painters in Montmarte. I was floored to see the historical photos of Montmarte in the 18th century…. It looks like a plain farmland! Then the exhibit covers the evolution of the Chat Noir and Moulin Rouge which pay for painters like Toulouse Lautrec to make posters. For those who likes Moulin Rouge or Chat Noir posters, this is a good exhibit for you.

Small interesting museum in the heart of Montmartre, in the house of one of its artistic denizens. I found the art on display rather disappointing, I guess the highlight is the cabaret posters by Toulouse-Lautrec. But since these are so well known somehow they lack impact. But the ambience is nice. There is a cafe that would also be a nice ace overlooking the garden but it was closed, I don't know if due to Covid or because it is winter.

One of my favorite museums in Paris. Small and charming but packed full of artifacts from monmarte’s golden age. Beautiful gardens, and a tiny vineyard in the middle of the city. Have a cold drink in the garden terrace and look through the legit gift shop on the way out. Loved it.

Really neat little museum. We went here first before our (self guided) tour of Montmartre and I’m glad we did. Not at all crowded and no wait (even being on a Saturday in July). Renoir’s gardens were incredible. We ordered food from the museum cafe to eat in the courtyard and loved it. A trip highlight for sure.
