Nice museum. I like the fact that it's free. They had quite a few varying artwork. There were paintings, sculpture, tapestry, and various artifacts. The area of the museum is very spacious, so there's room to maneuver. They do require that all backpacks are worn in the front to avoid them knocking over anything mistakenly. The artworks are spectacular, especially the ones depicting the crucifixion of Christ. Everything is very ornate, including the ceiling. A few of the pieces have English translations, so I was able to understand what each of those pieces were about. Not very crowded, which made it easy to move about. Great experience overall. Would definitely recommend

Wonderful free gallery in a beautiful location with a breathtaking courtyard garden. I visited this place on my own on a weekday. I easily explored all gallery rooms and the gardens within an hour. The entrance requires a security check. There were relatively few people and beautiful artwork. The architecture is stunning. Not to be missed.

Such a nice surprise! It was on my must see list and I’m glad I did not miss it. General admission is free, but I would not hesitate to visit even if there was a fee. I would have loved an audio guide to learn more about the building, mosaics, murals and sculptures. Nice inside garden, enjoyed a drink from the cafe there.

One of the best museums in city. Only few tourists know about the place and it makes it so much better! Also, entrance to permanent exhibition is free, and collection is beautiful! The palace itself is also awesome, it has beautiful garden inside and is located in great place. This will be one of my favorite museums in Paris.

This museum is an amazing site that is must see. Entry is free, which is surprising to me. The quality of art and the size of this museum is worth paying for. There are several floors with arts spanning different decades and time periods. It was great to walk through the museum and greatly appreciate all the art that's inside. This is a highly recommended location and one that should not be missed.

The building itself is a work of art at interior and exterior. At the interior there are free art galleries with paintings, sculptures, furniture, etc. And the best part is that the entrance is free (or at least it was in August 2023 when we visited). There is a store and cafeteria inside, where you can enjoy the beautiful interior garden. Truly a genuine experience!

I loved that on a busy day in cold December, there were no lines to get in and that the place was not packed with noisy students. The gardens are small, but lovely. The Cafe has normal prices and a delicious selection of snacks. And the permanent collection is diverse and engaging. I enjoyed the religious art section (objects from Ethiopia and Greece especially). I would recommend a stop if only to admire the building that was built for Expo 1900.

Amazing exhibits and art. Beautiful building and you could easily spend hours looking at the breathtaking paintings. Some of the pictures are just mind boggling in scale. Also since it's free to go I can't think of any reason why you shouldn't go to look at a Monet or any of the amazing artists whose work is displayed.

The Petit Palais is one of my favourite Museums in Paris. Admission is free and it is open everyday except Monday from 10am -6pm. The Petit Palais houses a small collection of sculptures, paintings and objects from the medieval ages to the late 1800s on 2 levels. The architecture is absolutely stunning and the centre courtyard is so elegant and quaint. I'd highly recommend having an afternoon coffee/tea with a dessert at the colonnade. Every corner is picture perfect at this Museum!

Although relatively unknown to tourists, it is a very attractive art gallery. First of all, the building itself is an artistic construction. The art on permanent display is also great. In particular, you can appreciate the masterpieces of Gustav Courbet. Even admission is free. Paid exhibitions are always fresh and good. Drinking tea at the cafe inside the building is a wonderful experience.

I came because it’s free and didn’t expect much. However this place blew my mind. I am not really into studying artifacts and stuff, but generally love the aesthetics in a museum. This museum is majestic and splendid. The cafe inside is even better! Food is good, environment is out of a movie scene. Make sure to check out this museum, you won’t regret it.

The two main things you need to know about this place are these: it’s free (no ticket) and it’s beautiful. Besides the art collection, I strongly recommend spending some quality time in the gardens. I did, having a delicious hot chocolate, and it was one of my best experiences in Paris. Highly recommended. Besides, the area surrounding the palace is also beautiful, so there’s no waste at all going there.

I would give another star for free entry. Everywhere in Paris you have to pay to see the attractions but here at Petit Palais, the entry is free but you may have to pay for special attractions. There was a small line when the doors were opened. There are security checks which take time. Inside you will find statues and paintings. There are lots of art collections. We enjoyed this art museum. If you missed the Louvre, this place would be a bonus. The bus will drop you off like 430 m away. There is a souvenir store and a cafe. We spent like 2 hours here. This is a must see attraction.

It's a nice place to spend half day here. The collections are great. While i was there, they were hosting a B&W photo exhibition but as time was running out, so they didn't allow people to go in anymore. But all other collections were beautiful too. Highlight is the cafe located in the centre of the museum. People can sit and rest while enjoying some refreshment there. The view is amazing with wonderful architecture all around you.

Great art museum. Has a cafe outside in the centre, it looked good but was busy so didn't partake. A great selection of paintings, sculptures, furniture and other period pieces. Make sure you keep a few hours to take it all in.

This is a highly underrated museum. It has a beautiful interior with a wide variety of art from antiquity to more impressionistic. The courtyard in the center was a great spot for children to get a break and to have a small snack. Palm trees and cherry blossoms!

Absolutely fabulous and a real surprise. This little (albeit rather huge in spite of its name) gem in the centre of Paris is an unmissable stop. Splendid and grand architecture inside and out. Filled with work of arts from various periods and including magnificent and very rare examples of art nouveau furniture. Lovely restaurant in the internal courtyard for a refreshing break.

The permanent collection is full of gems, among which beautiful artwork by Courbet, Sisley, Maurice Denis, Delacroix, to name only a few, as well as a wonderful Monet. The building itself is gorgeous, in particular the garden on the first floor with a very pretty arrangement of trees and flowers. All of this is accessible free of charge!

Nice museum with a huge collection. I put 4/5 because I feel that this museum should be renewed. Some screens are too old and not working. And I felt a lack of interactivity in this museum during my visit.

Very nice and diverse artwork from paintings to sculptures and even some jewelry and homemade utensils collections. The museum is very spacious, you can have chairs wherever you go, so you can chill or paint. I would highly recommend it, the entry is free and not crowded. So, it’s just perfect for those who like the combination of art, quiet time and spacious places.

Of all the art and sculpture museums that I visited in Paris, this was my favorite. The building itself is an absolutely beautiful structure with amazing light throughout. The paintings are diverse and the sculptures fascinating. The permanent exhibition is free to enter and simply amazing. At the time we visited there was no crowd and we were able to walk right in. A great place to visit.

A beautiful gallery and a modern and classic combination of sculptures and outstanding paintings. Access by metro 1 and 13, as well as in the vicinity of Champs-Elysées and Alexander III Bridge. with a peaceful environment and a small but pleasant garden in the middle where you can use the cafe and restaurant after visiting the museum.

Fabulous art museum. We saw a temporary prints exhibit during the Christmas holiday when school was out. The museum was crowded but we were able to see everything on display. A great alternative to the Louvre if you already visited or can't get in. World class Art in a world class Palace.

Sculptures & Modern Art 🎨. Paris doesn't have a deficit of museums. It was a rainy day and an impromptu visit to Paris, so we popped in here for a few hours. Surprisingly, it was free. We were all over 25 years old and not all of us were EU residents, so we must have gotten lucky. I loved perusing through this museum as it started with sculptures and ceiling paintings, then on the lower floor moved to some modern art. The end of the museum was a center garden that was serene but a bit damp since it was lightly raining.

Totally amazing and beautiful museum. Where is literally free to appreciate breathtaking works. On the main hall you will find these colossal canvasses from Bouguereau. You will also find an original Monet. One big note, the entrance is totally free but you’ll not be allowed to enter with a carry on or any kind of luggage. I tried… a personal item such as a backpack is no problem but be aware of that.

One of my favourite stops on our Paris trip- was such a beautiful place, the architecture is breathtaking and it has such a wide collection of artwork in various styles. The best was a beautiful garden to sit and soak in the sun and enjoy the view, with seating. It was so nice and quiet when we went, making it more relaxing to enjoy the artwork and take your time getting round everything. Very well laid out, organised and an amazing place- it is free entry also which is amazing, hopefully it stays this way as not commonly found. Thank you!

I'm aware how skewed of an opinion this is but this place is more enjoyable than the Louvre! Obviously there aren't as many famous paintings or sculptures on display (a majority are the plaster moulds of their metal castings) but the atmosphere is more peaceful and less hectic than the Louvre. You can observe and appreciate each artwork the way it was intended. And to top it off, the cafe and restaurant here are absolute gems. Gorgeous food and welcoming staff

My boyfriend and I came here because we couldn’t get tickets to the Louvre. Loved this place because it was 1. Free, 2. Not crowded with tourists, 3. Had a great collection. The medieval objects and artwork collection was great. There is Monte and Rembrandt in the paining collection so you can see some very nice pieces. The cafe has a great interior courtyard which is quiet and protects from the noise of the city. Tip: go early, by the time we left around 11 there were a lot more groups arriving.

Was really nice place and open based on official website. They had variety of artificial pieces which I admired. It was included in the Paris museum pass so didn’t pay ticket for it, but you’ll have to pay for the audio guide if you want to have it. There were some school trips which was lovely. Also people working there were super helpful when asking about directions or other stuff. Art work on there were marvelous, true genuine pieces and well taken care of.

I love Petit Palais. There is so much to see and not only French art but various nationalities such as Turkish and Greek from various periods too. It is child friendly and the member of staff are very kind to children.

I was only able to see this place from the exterior, but if this is the "petit" palace, the Grand one must be incredible!

Beautiful architecture, a fine taste museum with lovely sculptures and a great painting collection (including the famous "Sunset on the Seine at Lavacourt, Winter Effect" by Claude Monet which is a must see!!!!). The interior garden is beautiful in a wild way. What surprised me the most is the silence and the lack of crowds which makes this museum a real hidden gem.

The is a pleasant alternative to the big museums when they are too crowded to endure. Built for the 1900 Exposition it’s got rind off history snd some great art. Beautiful building, cool and quiet. A good afternoon activity in a warm summer day. Kids will probably not enjoy it much. Don’t miss the Koons’ Bouquet of Tulips behind the museum. We give it three snd one half clams on the coveted Five Quahog rating scale.

The collection of art spans adds to what you can find at the Louvre, the L' Orangerie, and Musée D'Orsay. I was delighted to be there for the Ilya Repin exhibition. Beautiful art in an absolutely beautiful place!

Not only that this place is beautiful from the outside it also holds a very nice selection of fine art and it’s free!

  • 5/5 Elena R. 2 years ago on Google
Currently there is a fantastic exhibition of an artist using glass as a media for his work and another exhibition of Repin.

Free entrance, beautiful collections and building, great explanations. Several eras and techniques such as painting, sculpting, design, art décoratif etc. There are changing exhibitions with more modern art. (The current one by Othoniel was absolutely uninteresting.) There is a café, a gift shop and toilets. A note that filled me with joy, they seem to also hire disabled people for desk positions. It's a great museum for 2-3 hours, I highly recommend it.

Amazing museum and with free fee entry. A lot to see, also the cafeteria inside is amazing. Very clean, covid control, plenty to see, from new to old art. Nice personal. We just love this small palace in the heart of Paris. The caffe and the chestnut cream were great.

One of the best free museums in the world. You can find a lot of great pieces of art here and it will be interesting for those who know a lot about it and who think Monet and Manet is the same person. Gorgeous inner garden and you can drink pretty good coffee there. Highly recommended to visit.

It says it’s petit Palais but it is indeed very big in the inside. I enjoyed every part of it and it was well explained in the description of every painting or sculpture .

This is one of the few "free" museums for everyone in Paris. The permanent collection is free to visit and the exhibitions have a fee, there is a full upstairs and downstairs to visit. There is also a beautiful garden/café on the ground floor to spend some time in. Located between the Seine and the Champs-Élysées, the Petit Palais is an architectural jewel built by Charles Girault for the 1900 Paris Exposition. With the Grand Palais and the Pont Alexandre III, the Petit Palais became in 1902 the museum of fine arts to house the rich collections of the City of Paris. The collections offer a wide artistic panorama, from Antiquity to the beginning of the 20th century. A true haven of peace, its interior garden welcomes visitors and allows them to take a pleasant break. I would highly recommend putting this on your list of things to do in Paris.

Lovely place to walk around (free entry) and have coffee shop to sit down and take break. Food on very average but pricey side. Museum hides some wonderful statutes and large size paintings. Please, do look up! Be in awe!

Majestic museum in the heart of Paris that you can visit for free. Safety and comfort at the highest level. Incredible experience from amazing restaurant in the courtyard.

  • 5/5 Danielė P. 7 months ago on Google
Free entrance, the building itself outside and inside is simply gorgeous. There are great paintings and sculptures, the museum isn't crazy big so you won't get very tired. The garden was under construction when we visited so that was a bit upsetting.
