It’s not one of the obvious choices for visiting an art museum in Paris, giving the scope of the choice in the city, but it’s worth if you have the time. The permanent collection of Monet paintings is not huge, but it’s relevant and what it is exhibited is of good quality. They also stage very professional and good quality temporary exhibitions. The grand “hôtel particulier” where the works are displayed it’s worth in it’s own right.

A museum that houses the most of Monet’s work in the world is thankfully smaller than expected, quiet and not overwhelmed by other tourists. It’s wonderful to stare at and observe the separate abstracted elements of the paintings. Some interesting objects and paintings upstairs as well. Highly recommend! The surrounding neighborhood was probably my favorite in Paris. Quiet and beautiful.

Overall well worth going to. The museum had a lot of non-Monet pieces as well, which I hadn't realized. If you're tight on time (or can't walk anymore) go straight into the basement, see the Monet pieces, then leave. If you want to make an afternoon of it then absolutely see the whole thing. If they have a special exhibit going on I recommend taking the time for that as well. The special exhibit and Monet pieces were the stand out parts of this museum.

Honestly, the best exhibition of Monet's works that I've seen in any permanent or travelling exhibition. There is time and space to enjoy the works, get real close and then benches to sit and admire and get lost in the beauty that is Impressionism. The other exhibits are also well worth it and beautifully restored and modelled rooms with period pieces. Definitely worth it and a better experience than some of the bigger, busier galleries and museums

Wonderful experience! Priceless Monets paintings within a aristocratic mansion you can easily spend a few hours or a full day enjoying. Just splendid! If my review has helped you in any way please like it👍. Enjoy!

(Translated by Google) After the renovation, it became very easy to see. We walk a little from the station, but it is fun to walk for a walk. May hold special exhibitions The same picture is not always in the same place. It's a museum that's not that big There are many interesting works ... I recommend renting an audio guide (3 €). It is a good idea to make a request together with the ticket purchase. Although it is a voice guide, there is no Japanese support for special exhibitions. If you understand English, it is better to borrow it at the time of the exhibition. When I returned in January 2018, I was able to take pictures. In addition, long umbrellas and large luggage can be shared at the same place as the audio guide rental. There is no cafe in the building, but the shop is on the 1st floor (0th floor). Restrooms are located on the 2nd floor (1st floor) and the 1st basement floor. There are no cafes around this museum as it is a residential area. There are several cafes and bakeries around the station. In summer, you can eat sandwiches while taking a break in the park on the way ♡ (Original)

A Parisian hidden gem and a must-visit for Monet fans. This intimate museum showcases the evolution of Monet's artistry, with vibrant paintings and personal belongings that offer a deep connection to the artist. The curated displays and insightful information make for a captivating journey through Monet's life. For art enthusiasts, this museum is an extraordinary experience that shouldn't be missed. I have discovered this with my wife last week and we fell in love with the place. I highly recommend.

Some pictures of my favorite Monet are gathered here 😍😍😍 It’s a small and quiet museum or gallery. They do have audio guide despite it’s not proposed to select it on the site while booking online.

If you’re looking to get from the chaos of the big museums in Paris such as the Louvre and D’Orsay, this is the place. The exhibits are lovely, presented in a simple yet beautiful way with just enough to see. A perfect ode to Monet. My favorite art museum in the world by far!

The orangerie museum is famous for its water lily paintings of the Claude Monet, but I think this museum has better and more paintings. And I think it worth taking a closer look not only at the paintings, but also at the museum building itself, it’s beautiful.

Great museum with exposition not only of Monet works. The exposition is on 3 floors, also there is an app Myse that helps to explore more about paintings, sculptures etc. Not overcrowded as other museums therefore you can enjoy art not stressing about crowds around.

A lovely and not very well-known museum. You can sit down and peacefully admire Monet's beautiful works. The temporary exhibition (engravings, until september 2023) was fascinating.

Got to see so many paintings that I didn’t know were at this location! It was truly a pleasant surprise, as well as the amazing dedicated Monet collection! Very fascinating! There’s even another Mona Lisa that is here, you can see the differences with the famous version that’s in the Louvre.

The best collection of Monet’s paintings as these were left as a legacy by his only son. Beautiful setting in a stylish townhouse with Napoleonic memories

Loved my visit here, a much quieter museum. And a must do for Paris as it houses the leading collection of works from the worlds first female impressionist. Berthe Morisot. The house and architecture of the museum are fantastic. It sprawls on and on. My critique —> the artist mainly advertised is Monet when this Museum houses the worlds leading collection on Berthe Morisot, the worlds first female impressionist and theres hardly a mention of it anywhere until you get inside the museum. Please note that as this is a private museum is doesn’t matter if you qualify for free entrance. You will need to buy a ticket.

AMAZING museum with A LOT of Monet’s work! We almost missed the permanent exhibition (the collection of paintings by Monet) as it’s in the basement.

Beautiful museum, a short ride from Paris, but definitely worth it! The permanent collection is consisted of Monet's lifetime articles, which he kept for himself. His son, donated the collection to the museum and if is the biggest collection in the world. The collection is comprehensive and includes all of Monet's array of creation. There's also a limited time exhibition dedicated to Paul Cezanne and his connection with Italy, which well worth the visit for the interesting point of view. I would recommend purchasing tickets in advance, since the lines could get long.

A delight to feel like you’ve discovered a museum with a collection of a few of Monet’s most seminal works. Tucked away in the 16th. Recommend getting there early (and buy tix in advance) with the place to yourself and then strolling through the neighborhood down to the Eiffel Tower.

This was easy access taking bus #32 from the Trocadero, the bus stop is across the street. This was an excellent jewel if you want something quiet instead of the likes of the Louvre or D'Orsay. The total number of Monet paintings in this collection is very large thanks to the generosity of one of Claude Monet's last surviving relatives. You can easily spend two (2) hours looking around. This a highly recommended stop.

This is a wonderful place to see Monet's up close. Rarely crowded so you can enjoy the pieces intimately. And don't miss the Morisot paintings upstairs, plus Napoleon's desk and bed. A wonderful place and I've been there a couple times now.

A representative selection of wonderful works throughout Monet's life. Quiet and uncrowded. Off the beaten tourist path; getting there takes you through a (posh) part of Paris you might not otherwise see. Be sure to visit if you like Monet's work, don't limit yourself to l'Orangerie.

The mantel and table clocks are underappreciated in this museum as they have some very beautiful pieces from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The original furniture and decorative pieces are all on display since the museum used to be a hunting lodge for the Marmottan family. The Art Deco furniture is also something to be admired, but one of the better features of this museum in the ample seating available for visitors to sit and contemplate the art. My wife and I really appreciated the benches that gave us time to sit and appreciate their permanent Monet collection.

Friday, 7 April 2023 at 13:15 Art: 5/5 Excellent. If you appreciate Claude Monet (and his Impressionist contemporaries) and/or First Empire (Napoleonic Empire) decorative arts and furniture, then you will be in heaven. A seriously curated jewel-box of art. Service: 3/5 Good. Polite and professional. The basement and ground floors are wheelchair-friendly, however the first floor is only accessible by stairs for wheelchair-bound visitors. The elevator from the ground floor to first floor is the tiniest elevator I have ever witnessed in my life, and our small folding manual wheelchair would not fit. We even removed the foot rests without success. Ambience: 5/5 Excellent. An absolutely stunning museum filled with an abundance of beautiful objects. It is curated like the rich private interiors of a serious collector. Cleanliness: 5/5 Excellent. Everything appeared freshly dusted, the floors cleaned, and the toilets were spotless. Value: 5/5 Excellent. 14€ for a ticket. We spent 2h15m in the collection which is 6€22 per hour of entertainment. Overall: 4.6/5 Excellent. I definitely intend to recommend this museum to any friends or family visiting the Paris area.

What a brilliant little museum of impressionist works and other bequests. The expansive Monet section is the obvious highlight, but the illuminations were interesting and the Morisot exploration shows a unique experience of the female impressionist.

  • 5/5 Leo B. 4 years ago on Google
One of the most important museums for impressionism, having probably the best Monet collection in the world, , but also the biggest collection of works of Berthe Morisot (representin women in impressionism), a complete exposition on Paul Cezanne, etc. But it has also a little of everything else: medieval art, sculptures, many interesting paintings of Paris, contemporary art (Keith Tyson for instance). The only thing I felt could be better is the audioguide; it wasn't as useful as it could be.

I'm very pleased I travelled all the way from the 20th district to the Muser Marmottan Monet. I not only got to see many of his art pieces and came to understand that he painted so many versions of his waterlilies, but I also got to see many pieces from the first Napoleonic Empire. There was also an exhibition of sunsets which reminded me of my home in Western Australia. Furthermore I got to see how the other half live in Paris. The museum is situated in a very upmarket location.

It was a nice experience! I'm glad that I could get in when I didn't book the ticket. But I recommand to book it because when I came out from the museum around 4pm, there was really a long line. The museum was big and nice. I got the audio but I there weren't many artworks that had audio neither the one with audio didn't have much of satisfying explanation. In general it was a nice museum.

The havre by Monet is breathtaking. It’s definitely a great place to learn more about all the Impressionist, not only Monet.

Great paintings and some cool collection but the whole museum is organized in a strange way. Once it's the paintings, once it's the furniture. Anyway, very worth a visit .

(Translated by Google) Monet, Cézanne and Berthe Morizot! A real chance for amateurs to find them together. Good reception from the staff on the floor. Complementary to our visit, one of the guards communicates the information very nicely. Do not forget the passage through the bookstore. Small gift ideas for the end of year celebrations. I want to share my enthusiasm following my wonderful discovery today.

(Translated by Google) A little known museum but what a nice surprise. We had a lovely time there. Expo Cezanne to see. The permanent collection of Monnet's canvases is just sublime. The canvases of Berthe Morisot, the first impressionist woman, are to be discovered. (Original) Un musée peu connu mais quelle belle surprise. Nous y avons passé un bien joli moment. A sem8 hidden gem, in the outskirts of Paris. It's the biggest Monet collection. The museum itself is filled with other impressionists' works, and its beautiful layout makes meandering through the small palace a fairy tale like experience. The most interesting/odd piece in display was Napoleon's bed, which was truly sized to fit his "height". Beautiful museum, highly recommend!

An amazing collection of Monet paintings. But the lady selling the tickets didn’t speak English and behaved like it was my fault.
