Very interesting museum. Some beautiful lace and machinery exposed. Do not miss the lace making show where they demonstrate how the machine operates. The garments showcased are kept in perfect condition. The gift shop is also a very nice visit in itself since they sell many products made with Calais lace coming from local factories and from the museum lace machines. -M

The link between handicraft, industrial history, social history is clearly explained for the lace industry, very interesting. Lots of lovely lace to look at too, various audio-visual displays, not all of which work. Also temporary fashion displays. very well designed museum.

Last day of the Yves Saint Laurent exhibition.... Over 60 exhibits... Highly recommended... Free entry on the last day (12November). English text. Thoroughly enjoyable. Third visit to the museum and we will be back again.

Un musée charmant et très intéressant. A great place to learn how the best lace in the world was and still be done. Proud to see a demo of the big XIX century machine like the one my grandpa was working on.

Very interesting museum though not much translated into English so I should think those without command of the language suffer. Staff will help translate. They do a demo of making lace at particular times in the afternoon. Parking close by. Restaurant on site served good simple food.

Great museum! If you are coming here for the first time, I would recommend you to visit demonstration of how lace making machine works. Also it usually has interesting exhibitions about history of fashion.

Fascinating displays of the history of lace making plus lots of examples of exquisite lace and historical dress, and working lace machines. Demos and exhibits are really great. Visited many times for special exhibitions such as Yves St Laurent and Givenchy....fabulous!

The lacemaking machines are a must to see in action. They could be the first machines run like modern computers from an on/off 0/1 tape like a big piano roll. It's a pity the exhibition did not go back further in time as industrial lacemaking machines were in use at least in 1838, and the museum exhibits don't seem to start until after the mid nineteenth century. Shop is a bit expensive although interesting but only lace for sale was sadly synthetic. Had a great visit.

Beautifully presented exhibition with plenty of English signage. Very informative about the history of lace making and its impact on the development of Calais. The demonstration is impressive. A bonus was the temporary exhibition on Lecoanet Hemant with fabulous fashions, again superbly presented.

Sehr interessantes Museum!
