Built for Cardinal Richelieu by the architect Lemercier, builder of the Sorbonne, the main building (1634), facing the Louvre, became a royal residence (regency of Anne of Austria) and then for the Orléans family from 1661. The work was completed and redesigned in the two centuries The eighteenth and nineteenth. The three wings closing the sides of the garden date from the end of the 18th century.

Maybe this will help someone? You can enter the Louvre only with electronic tickets, but you can buy by going inside, you need to provide a certificate of vaccination with the desired phaser and the ticket will cost € 15.

Very nice and calm place. No great works but worth visiting the place. It’s free too. It does not have any great artworks but has a nice garden, nice corridors. You feel relaxed when you visit this place. I suggest every tourist to spend 30 min at this place either before or after visiting louvre museum

A real hidden gem behind the Louvres. Not as crowded as the Tuilleries and definitely smaller. I always enjoy it on a beautiful sunny day when in town. You can also sip a coffee in one of the coffee shops surrounding it.

Stunning place to come as a tourist. The parc next to it is a bit dirty but it’s quiet and nice. It’s lovely to take pictures in the middle, and coming in right as sunset hits paris makes for pictures with orange stones, it’s stunning! I highly recommend for anyone taking a stroll through Opera or near the Louvre

A square full of life, people are dancing in a corner and others are getting married, chairs in the garden for people to read and enjoy nature and observing the surroundings. Has a very special atmosphere

Very interesting architecture. Small square with different columns in the yard of the Ministry of Culture. I find it very peaceful, interesting, unusual, different. Highly recommend.

Wide open space with a very neat visual. In the warmer season events are held here like fashion shows. Beautiful for a stroll, photo oops or just a cut through while walking the city.

This place is like taking you back into the past world of glorious living, with huge gardens and courtyards of royals now opened and accessible to the public. Paris has such a well preserved culture and history, and one must take time to soak it all in.

Nice area encompassing the Public Square, gardens and building of the Palais Royal… plenty of history in the place and so many nice shops and cafes to explore. In the spring and summer the gardens are a lovely place to chill out, especially by the fountain, and the inner courtyard with the black and white sculptures make for a great opportunity. There’s a Metro stop just opposite by the Louvre, with the lines 1 & 7. Close to other attractions like the Opera and Louvre, with the Tuileries gardens and also close to the river Seine…

Very rarely does one get to see interactive public art and this is one such place. The black and white pillars here are classic and you can see so many people interacting with the permanent installation. Definitely a must visit. It is right next to the park where Emily in Paris was shot, and in one of the most popular area of the city

This beautiful garden is a must-see for anyone visiting Paris. It is so calm and peaceful, despite the number of people who frequent it. It is particularly popular for picnics. Most benches have quotes on them from great French writers. You may also recognise it from Taylor Swift's Begin Again or season 1 of Emily in Paris.

Great place to visit if you want to take pictures because honestly for me it wasn't that much thing to do here except for taking pictures the park is good for all year's weather except for summer 😅

A very popular place among the tourists. Amazing square with original installation. Children always jump and ride over there. Next to it you have a small square where you can enjoy first spring sunny days on bank under the amazing and beautiful magnolia trees. Too crowded in weekend.

Those striped columns plays two rolea: nice photo (insta) spots and attraction for tired kids :) And the palace and garden is worth to see as well of course :)

This is a hidden gem that is easy to miss. It took me four trips to Paris to visit it. It is an absolutely stunning palace, make sure to stroll the garden and the courtyard to take it all in. The history associated with it is very interesting, it was originally built for Cardinal Richelieu and it has played very interesting roles throughout history as well as evolved it's architecture.

It is fun to stroll around to walk through the black and white colums. It is quite here. Enjoy the park and walk through to the end: you will see the part theatre Palais Royal. I liked it to be here.

A more secluded park that offers the same fountains and chairs the Louvre park is famous for but with 10 times less business. You can really get some hard-earned quietness there in the evening.

Lovely park in which people chill out around the garden. There are chairs 🪑 and benches 🛋️ to sit and enjoy this quite place in the heart of Paris. I recommend taking a 10-20 minutes detour from the Louvre for at least a walk around the park.

Good for the kiddos to burn some energy when they get tired of the artsy fartsy scene. The fountains and the pillars are beautiful as is most things in Paris.

Beyond the famous Buren columns, shops and dine-ins under the arcades. Sadly the place looks a bit forgotten among major nearby attractions like Le Louvre and the Comédie française

Poles sticking out of the ground. Nothing to see on a rainy day and I doubt it's a nice view on a sunny day.
