Incredible Journey through Aviation History - A Must-Visit for All Ages! My recent visit to the Air Space Museum was an absolute delight! From the moment I stepped foot inside, I was captivated by the rich history of aviation that unfolded before my eyes. As an avgeek, this was truly a dream come true. The museum offers a comprehensive and immersive experience that takes you on a journey through the evolution of aviation. Starting from the early days of flight, you get to witness the remarkable progress made in the field. From the iconic Concorde and majestic Boeing 747 to the powerful Transall and groundbreaking A380, there was something to marvel at around every corner. The museum's exhibits are well-curated and beautifully presented, showcasing the milestones and achievements of aviation pioneers. The attention to detail in recreating historical aircraft and the extensive collection of artifacts left me in awe. It was truly fascinating to see how technology and engineering have shaped the world of aviation. What makes this museum even more special is its appeal to visitors of all ages. Kids and adults alike will be enthralled by the interactive displays, flight simulators, and informative videos. The museum offers a perfect blend of education and entertainment, making it an ideal destination for families. It's an excellent opportunity to inspire the next generation of aviation enthusiasts. The staff at the Air Space Museum deserve a special mention. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about aviation. Their enthusiasm was infectious and added to the overall positive experience. I cannot recommend this museum enough, especially for aviation enthusiasts like myself. Whether you're a seasoned avgeek or simply curious about flight, this place is a treasure trove of knowledge and excitement. Make sure to allocate ample time for your visit because you'll want to explore every nook and cranny. I'm already planning my next trip back! In conclusion, the Air Space Museum offers an amazing day filled with aviation history, incredible exhibits, and a one-of-a-kind experience. It's a must-visit for both kids and adults, guaranteeing an unforgettable adventure. So, buckle up and prepare for a super, super time at this extraordinary museum!

Brilliant, expansive museum spanning the history of aviation from its infancy right to the present day in both military and civilian applications. Lots of incredible displays, many of which are the only ones left in the world. Signage is in a blend of English and French, although many are in French only. Great on-site restaurant and ample parking available at an additional cost. Allow 4 hours to visit comprehensively.

Wonderful, well-organized museum with a lot to offer a broad audience. Wish they had consistent English. Big placards have both French and English. Plane identifications generally offer English but not always. Unfortunately smaller artifact and photo captions seldom have a translation, and there are many, many interesting artifacts. I’d have loved to learn more, but the curators did not help me dive deeper. An amazing museum, and the narrative around French pioneers of aviation is especially well told (and well-translated).

We spent a fantastic day at the museum, it is probably the best aerospace museum we have visited. The breadth of aircraft on display is amazing, from string and paper gliders dating to the 19th century to an A380 and TWO Concordes. For the quality of the exhibits and the location the entrance price is extremely reasonable and we will definitely return.

This was an incredible find. With a restless eight year old boy, slightly bored by queuing for the usual Parisian tourist attractions, this kept him occupied for over five hours. The pure number of aircrafts on display and excellent curation mean it never feels crowded and there seem to be endless rooms (expo size, whatever they are called) with plans from 1912 to the fighter jets of the 50s all the way through to the first Concordes, a collaboration with the British, which you can walk on board. Well worth visiting and the kids said they wanted to return… no better testimony! You need to take the 350 bus to get there, but not too far out and you get a sneak preview of the Stadium of France en route.

This is an amazing museum. Both for kids and adults. There are tons of airplanes to admire from the 18th century to this day. You can enter a boeing 747, a concorde, a dacota military transport aircraft and a rescue helicopter. The air control tower is not veey interesting as it is stripped from machinery. Very friendly stuff. Highly recommended. Unfortunately not very convenient to reach by public transport.

An aviator's dream come true. As a pilot, I thoroughly enjoyed this museum. Highlights of the visit was getting onboard a Dakota and the venerable Concorde. What an experience! I want to visit this place with my kids again. 🤞

An absolute aviation gem! If you love planes you can’t beat this. Highlight is being able to walk right up to/underneath a real A380. My wife has no particular interest in planes and was dreading getting dragged along here but ended up absolutely loving it!

Very good to visit with children. But without car can be complicated. Be aware it’s far from city center. There is nice cafeteria. To visit Boing 747 inside you have to stay in line outside and inside (!) - I don’t recommend.

I didn’t actually went to the museum, i was there for a festival(cercle) but the place is amazing!! The rockets and the planes are insane for someone who never saw it so close like me. For me it was an amazing experience and everything was very organized, water, bathrooms. Thanks for the museum for making this place Available to such an amazing experience that me and other 24k people had. Unfortunately there was a big storm in the end that stopped the festival but it was amazing weekend anyway.

I was really surprised by this museum. It is much larger than I anticipated. There are multiple rooms with different displays, a nice kids area (tickets sold separately), you can also go into some of the airplanes (tickets sold separately) and the control tower (tickets sold separately). There are some great airplanes here including historic and modern planes and even a Concorde. The cafeteria is also nice but runs out of food later in the afternoon so make sure you eat there at lunchtime. All in all we spent a few very nice hours here with the kids.

It’s not a very crowded place you can visits the museum with all the calm you need to enjoy it. The place it was the old Paris airport with art deco style. It’s very cool all the exhibitions and of course you got two Concorde there. One of the things that didn’t like was the 747, inside was a little dusty. Recommended place to visits if you are a airplane enthusiast.

One of my favourite aviation museums in the world. The UK have Hendon, in Washington the Smithsonian, the French have le Bourget. Nearly everything in this museum is amazing. You really get appreciate that France is an aviation nation. Wonderful historical displays of war time planes, amazing prototypes. Don’t miss the helicopters. What I found disappointing is the display of the Concorde: while they have actually a prototype and the real thing: the interiors are gutted, you can’t get near the cockpits, and there is very little explanation of the technical details like materials or engines.

No other place in the world where you can show your kids the history of the aeronautics from the first hot air balloons up to the open space flights. All exponats are very carefully restored and selected by the historical period. You can explore the real plains like an old pal, Mac Donald Douglas, Bouing Jumbo and of course the Concord super jet. Excellent experience for the whole day 👍😊😊😊

Well worth a trip to Paris. Even worth travelling from US to see it. Allow about three hours. Not particularly close to city center. But not too far from CSG. I took a Bolt there from my CDG area hotel. It cost about €20 for the Bolt.

Excellent museum with a fantastic apron display of aircraft! You can also explore TWO Concorde aircraft too - which was an incredible experience. Lots of info on the history of aviation (particularly in France) inside the old terminal building too. Little bit difficult and time consuming to get to the museum via Public Transport (metro then local bus) but if you are an aviation enthusiast then I highly recommend making the effort!

A place in Paris that literally makes you fly. I think it should be a MUST in the city. The curation of information/history, and the planes and elements are amazing. Replicas, real airplanes, better said. An opportunity to learn and marvel ALL ONE DAY. I recommend it for everyone. I spent one of my best visits to Paris there. I want to go back because in the end I went very fast through the space zone.

(Translated by Google) A superb museum which was really incredible for me who is an avgeek and therefore passionate about aviation, I was really in heaven during this day. The collections on display are truly superb, commercial and military airplanes and helicopters alike. We were treated to a guide who knew the whole museum inside out and it was truly amazing what he told us. Unfortunately, it was raining so we lingered very little on the tarmac but were still able to visit the 747 and at the end of the visit we had free time so I could go and see the majestic A380. We also had a partial view of the Canadair and the Dassault Mercury Air inter on the tarmac. Otherwise everything else was inside, we got to see it all. A day is the ideal length to enjoy and see it all. I highly recommend the guided tour. The shop at the end of the visit was incredible, one of the most beautiful ever. It contained models, books, caps, postcards etc ... It was a really good day. I put 4 out of 5 because at the restaurant the propeller in terms of organization, it was CATASTROPHIC, we had an hour to eat and we wondered if we could eat because there were 2 people for 110 covers !!! So the restaurant must ABSOLUTELY review its organization. When we were able to eat a fairly good duck parmentier in 10 minutes. This visit took place because I am taking the Bia at the Lys and Artois flying club in Lestrem. I highly recommend this museum and will be back in 2021 for the show in June.

(Translated by Google) The exhibition is superb, however the catering is poor and not cheap. It is better to plan sandwiches! Tour of the control tower € 4 per person, including children: too expensive because there is nothing to see. (Original) L'exposition est superbe en revanche la restauration est nulle et pas bon marché . Il est préférable de prévoir des sandwichs ! Amazing views of various planes, spacecraft, and displays. There were even multiple helicopter and plane simulators scattered across the grounds which were fairly fun to mess around with. The dice exhibits were awesome, too. It’s not my go-to hobby but I sure loved it here!

Give yourself the better part of a day to absorb this awesome museum. It is a high light of any visitor into aerospace and history. The only negative is the helicopter section is crammed and do not give aircraft the space they deserve. Also the space section is dark so pictures won't look great.

If you have any interest regarding aviation industry, you must pay a visit. Where else you can find concord? Loved the collection. Friendly people all around. So much to see. A nice cafe is added on.

Great place, very interesting to visit, either with children or not. A bit far from Paris and not easy to reach without an auto, but really interesting place. Must visit.

The Musée de l'air et de l'espace (Air and Space Museum), one of the oldest aviation museums in the world, occupies over 150,000 square metres of land and hangars with 150 aircraft, and material from as far back as the 16th Century. Modern aircraft and spacecraft are also displayed such as Concorde, and Swiss and Soviet rockets.

Museum is awsome, presents aviation's history with splendid planes showing the evolution through the ages. Lots of engines of all kinds, space rockets, Concorde 001 even a 747 partly steeped inside....and so on The visit can last a full day if you are curious. Beware the parking is a trap!!!! Everyone leaves at the same time, only one machine to pay or pay at the gate...so that blocking the queue A true sketch for Top Gear!!!!! And a shame comparing with the excellence of the visit.

A very large and impressive collection. Add to that a fascinating building (the old terminal) and you can spend several hours walking your feet tired. 😉 Maybe not the most comprehensive collection of one sort/type/era but overall there is more than enough for any aircraft enthusiast to see. Good order in covid times although the ticket office took some time to go through. And a suggestion is to include the parking in the ticket price - 16€ for the entry ticket is OK but parking is easy another 5-6-7-8€ on top of that. Well worth a visit.

I will give you some reasons why you should not waste time visiting this museum: 1) there is not a wide variety of planes. Most of the exposed parts are described in French. For you who do not understand the language, you will hardly understand the context of what has been exposed. 2) there is a lot of children visiting the museum. This would not be a problem if the teachers responsible for them paid attention to what they are actually doing. Besides, none of them wear masks and even the teachers don't wear masks. 3) it's ridiculous how the concords were exposed.there is very little interaction between them and the cockpit is not visible. if you really want to meet a concorde, you must visit the Sinsheim museum of technology.

  • 4/5 Chic T. 2 years ago on Google
The building is historical as it was the first french airport with great architecture. The Concorde hangar recreated the exact great filling I had of flying with ... the souvenir shop is impressive as well as the Normandy-Niemen hangar. The minus is the poor warbirds hangar.

Must visit museum for aviation industry lovers! There are B747, A380, Concorde in the museum area! You can also get the boarding ticket to visit the inside of B747 and Concorde for just 8€ which is amazing! You can learn many things about aviation history there. From balloons to modern aircrafts… It is far away from the center but there are 2 bus lines that comes here from Paris which is enough! Loved this place!

  • 5/5 Praful T. 1 year ago on Google
Amazing! Cannot put it any other way! Excellent exhibits and lots of informational tid bits starting from the very origin of flight to space, it's all very well done. My personal favourite was the Concorde of course!!

  • 5/5 Nathan B. 1 year ago on Google
While it’s not the Smithsonian, it is still an excellent museum. They have 2 concords to tour, plus a 747. The space portion is full of things we don’t get to see in the US museums. If you’ve got a few hours, it’s worth checking out.

Impressive museum in the old terminal building of Le Borget Airport. The exhibition starts at the very beginning of the history of aircraft with many original exhibits. The collection is impressive, but some parts of the museum seem to be outdated

For air and space enthusiasts "must see" place. History of time when some of us tried to fly, making possible for many of us to travel all around the world faster than before. Past, present and future in one place depending how you see sky ( as a opportunity or as a limitation). 🛫🌍😃

The Air and Space Museum in Paris is a fascinating place to visit for anyone interested in aviation and space travel. This museum is located on the site of the former Paris-Le Bourget airport, which has a rich history in aviation, making it an appropriate location for a museum of this nature. The museum is divided into several sections, each devoted to a different aspect of aviation and space travel. One of the highlights of the museum is the collection of historic aircraft on display, including a replica of the Wright Brothers' plane, the famous Spirit of St. Louis flown by Charles Lindbergh, and the Concorde supersonic passenger jet. These aircraft are beautifully preserved and offer a glimpse into the history of flight. In addition to the aircraft, the museum also features exhibits on the history of space travel, including a replica of the Soyuz spacecraft and the Apollo 11 lunar module. These exhibits are informative and engaging, providing visitors with a deeper understanding of the challenges and triumphs of space exploration. The museum also has a planetarium and a range of interactive exhibits that allow visitors to experience the thrill of flight and space travel. The planetarium features shows that explore the wonders of the universe, while the interactive exhibits give visitors a chance to fly simulators and experience the sensation of zero gravity. Overall, the Air and Space Museum in Paris is an excellent museum that offers something for everyone. Its collection of historic aircraft and exhibits on space exploration make it a must-visit for aviation and space enthusiasts, while its interactive exhibits and planetarium make it a fun and educational destination for families.

Great tour, not very busy.... Two down sides seemed to involve the children ....we were turned away from a type of play area inside as our ticket wasn't the right one ....no help to gain entry by paying extra just a no 🤷🤷 And the woman in the souvenir shop nearly having a heart attack every time the kids picked something up 🤣🤣 other than that the museum is top notch .. oh special note to the cafe staff ...great food concept and very helpful 👍

An impressive fleet! From how it all started to future prototypes, if you like aeronautics this is the place to visit. We took the RER to get there from Luxembourg garden (40 min). Great adventure, bigger then life surrounding, my son had a blast.

Great place and one of the most wonderful museums for this thematic. Great organization, cheap tickets, reasonably priced cafeteria. Plan to spend there about 3-5 hours, there is a lot to do both for kids 10+ and for adults. Congratulations to the management, they did a great job!

This is a great museum to visit with a lot of history about aviation! It is a bit of a trek from the center of Paris however is well worth it and offers great value. If you opt for public transport, going from the metro to the bus was easy but be prepared the bus did get very busy! The different areas are split in chronological order following the birth of aviation through to the space age as well as a selection of planes outside on the tarmac. Being able to go on some of the aircraft too is a lot of fun- Concorde's great but the 747 was my favourite, especially seeing the car in the cargo hold! I will just mention the restaurant as it is a bit different- basically, you have two tables. The first is casserole pots with main meals (today it was spag bol, sweet potato gratin, a mystery stew and monkfish and rice) alongside another table with small plastic ramekin dishes with mini salads and mini desserts. For the set menu, you get one casserole pot and 4 mini pots but can also get less/more depending on what you want. Food was great too!

Really cool museum if you’re into air and space. It’s a bit out there from Paris but worth a trip. Unfortunately it was windy when I came so I didn’t get to see the planes

A huge museum with a big variety of air-crafts from hot balloons to rockets. A great experience too bad I didn't have a lot of time to see all of it. Highly recommended!
