it’s a great place and beautiful architectural design building inside. In the top ! Really very pretty, many rooms, nice staff and very beautiful decorations. There are lots of things behind the scenes of opera! And as a bonus a small shop and a small restaurant very nice! I recommend this restaurant.

(Translated by Google) Very interesting and many archives! In the Opera Garnier both library and museum. Conservation of many documents on the plans of the opera but also sketches of sets, programs, etc. Open to the public in 1881, so archives over several centuries! Reading room and temporary exhibitions. (Translated by Google) During the tour of the Palais Garnier it is possible to contemplate the luxury and opulence that surrounded the people who came to the opera, not only to enjoy the show, but to see and be seen. Some of the most striking points of the building are the “foyers”, lobbies in which the spectators strolled during the intermissions, which are richly decorated with gold leaf and precious mosaics. The show room, decorated in red and gold tones, is illuminated by a huge crystal chandelier that illuminates the curious ceiling that seems to be decorated by the strange paintings made by a small child. The small size of the room is striking, with only 1,900 red velvet seats compared to the vast dimensions of the building, which occupies 11,000 square meters. Probably one of the most striking elements of the building is the grand white marble staircase with a green and red marble balustrade linking the two levels.

If there ever was a most beautiful building, it is this one! The architecture and style will simply blow your mind, not to mention how immaculately preserved it is. The Opera house is still fully functional with shows almost everyday so maybe that helps in its upkeep and maintenance. The main staircase is a masterpiece itself. Every corner of this magical place is a sight to behold. Definitely a must visit on your trip to the city of love.

The Bibliothèque-Musée de l'Opéra National de Paris is a library and museum of the Paris Opera and is located in the 9th arrondissement at 8 rue Scribe, Paris, France. It is no longer managed by the Opera, but instead is part of the Music Department of the National Library of France (Bibliothèque nationale de France or BnF). The Paris Opera Library-Museum is open daily; an admission fee is charged.

(Translated by Google) Housed in the Emperor's Pavilion, to the west of the building, the Opera Library-Museum has nearly 600,000 documents (books, periodicals, scores, programs, prints, ...) accumulated over the years , as well as some works of art and various objects (costumes, models of sets, paintings, jewels of scenes, ...). Today attached to the music department of the National Library of France, this fund was officially created in 1866 under the initiative of the archivist Charles Nighttier, but it is only in 1881 that it is stored in its current structure and that a museum is attached to it. The pavilion has preserved its magnificent period decorations and offers three spaces in its own right: the living room which serves as a reading room, the former smoking room in which the permanent collections have been installed, and finally the low rotunda devoted to temporary exhibitions. . The museum section is accessible to all visitors to the Palais Garnier. Unfortunately, the reading room is reserved for people with a reader's card from the Bibliothèque nationale de France.
