Having a prior reservation checked in on 6th June at 8.15 PM and it took more than 1.5 hours to check us in. The hotel keycards stop working every hour and you have to stay in the check in queue to get them fixed again. So be ready to waste hours if you go out of your room more than once. The rooms are decent but the service is not like a hotel but more like a run down motel. Even though the AC is running it’s controlled centrally I guess you can’t bring it down to the level you desire. During our stay nights were too warm until very late night.

This was one of the most unwelcoming, rudest, check in experiences I have ever had. The hotel itself is nothing special, dated, unpleasant local area area, by a main road and terrible insulation so you hear your neighbours easily. Average breakfast and 'powdered egg'. Very brand damaging to the Novotel chain and I would never set foot in there again.

If I could rate this hotel zero stars I would. This is the dirtiest place I have ever stayed in, there is no standard for basic hygiene within the bathrooms. I am traveling with a group of several people and multiple of us have found black mold growing in the showers, and that’s just the mold they can see because someone without any knowledge of standard hygiene decided it would be a good idea to to use wall paper thorough the entire bathroom including the shower, it is peeling up in several places and lord knows what must be growing underneath it. On top of that our shower flooded the entire room because the bathtub has multiple leaks inside of it. Not to mention that the mattresses are more uncomfortable than dorm beds I have slept on. I cannot stress enough that if you value your health and hygiene you should not stay here, I cannot even begin to fathom how this establishment even managed to pass a health inspection.

A WARNING FOR ALL. I don't think I have ever written a bad review and find it hard to do so. I am sure there are a lot of good people working there. It's a shame that I have to write this. I will start with the positive first. For the price we paid and the hotel itself, I would give it a 5-star rating as a cheap option in Paris. My wife, our two little girls, and I had a 5-night stay. On the second night, we ran out of nappies, so I went to the shops around 9 to get some. At 9:20 pm, I messaged my wife that I would be 30 minutes. At 9:30 pm, my wife was in bed with our two girls, and she had locked the door from the inside. Then the door unlocked, and someone entered the room. She saw the light entering the room, and a few moments later, the door closed. There is a small walkway, and didn't know if the person was still in the room or not. Turns out they left. I got back at 9:45 pm, and my wife told me what had happened. Since there were cameras outside the door, my wife went to the lobby to find out what happened, but they didn't care about the incident. They didn't even try to explain. She asked for someone to look at the cameras, and they told her to go back to the room and that they would check. By 11 pm, there was no update, so I went down and faced the same thing. They couldn't check the cameras until the next day they told me. After causing a bit of a scene, they asked me to wait, and they said they would figure out what to do. I was expecting them to have someone check the cameras, change our room, or ask the staff if anyone had entered our room. Instead, it was close to 12 am when I saw the manager trying to leave. I chased them down, and she told me not to worry about it. They would check the cameras in the morning. If it were earlier, I would have taken my family to another hotel. However, it was the middle of the night by then. I found a good way to block the door with the pram, and I came up with a better way on the second night and continued to for the rest of the stay. The next day, I followed up on the incident, and they acted as if they didn't know what I was talking about. I started to think maybe they didn't want to tell us who had entered the room. By the third day, we finally found out that it was a routine staff check at 9:30 pm!? I would not stay at this Novotel again. We understand mistakes can happen but lack of understanding regarding someone walking into your room at night without any answers is unacceptable. There was a manager the next day who was nice and seemed to clear things up a bit. Thank you

We had a decent stay at the hotel. The metro line is less than a 10 minute walk, which was convenient, though it is the last stop in that particular line so it takes a little time to get into central Paris. It was not too bad of a location. We found 2 good bakeries within a 10 minute walk. The melting pot restaurant across from the metro was pretty good and open late. My daughter liked the Foosball table in the lobby of the hotel. The baggage storage was convenient on our last day.

Worst Novotel hotel ever that I have used. We had a terrible experience the moment we stepped into the hotel. They call them a 5 star but they are not even close to a 1 star hotel. I wish there was a 0 rating or negative rating mechanism. 1. To begin with delayed check-in 2. Average rooms 3. No basic utility stuff in the rooms 4. No water. I had to call at least 10 times. The front desk and housekeeping do not care to answer. And if they answer they are extremely rude. For a moment I thought I was staying for free at this hotel. 5. The hotel has a funny policy of giving water only post follow up of 100 times. Plus out of the 4 days I stayed there, they said their policy is to give water only for 2 days. 6. I told the staff to bill the water to me but they just won't send it. I am surprised by the bad service. 7. Plus the hotel staff may just hang up on you if you call them. 8. The breakfast sucks. For the 5 days I was there they served the same food. Plus they don't even care to put up a small placard stating what is what. It's tough for vegetarian/vegan eating people. 9. If you ask the staff at the breakfast time to explain they won't be able to tell you. Either the staff cannot speak English or they don't care. Phew!!! That's the longest review I have given here coz I don't want anyone else to have the bad experience even after paying. I am still recovering from the bad hospitality and customer service experience.

Had to wait multiple hours after normal check in time to be able to be checked into my room. After booking for an early check in, unfortunately killed a good portion of the day because of this. With them telling me "just ten more minutes and it will be ready"

The hotel is more of an apartment building, the rooms are modestly equipped with older furnishings. The rooms are clean. Breakfast is buffet style, but the level of food selection is very low. The staff have enough time to do everything and their approach is not proactive.

Rooms awful , old smelly and dirty . Is this a 4 star hotel ??? Room service : joke is a soft expression . Ordered coffee and didn’t come after 1.5 hours and 5 calls. No exaggeration. I didn’t look at the poor ratings so had no idea . Changed rooms 2 times : airco wasn’t working and neither the sink . In the new room had no blanket just a sheet. I asked for a proper blanket - needless to say never got one... Some things would be forgivable ( ok old building what can you do ...) if the behavior and reaction of the staff was nice . But it was as unacceptable as the whole stay .

We stayed here last year for summer vacation. Nice location major bus stand and metro station in walking distance. Breakfast bread is very good, room sir very neat and clean. Lobby is contemporary very welcoming. Spacious lobby and has a good restaurant as well. Big supermarket Auchan in walking distance. the place is easily visible from a moving vehicle. Very competitive pricing. We stayed here for five days during our vacation the total package was very good so I would highly recommend this place if you are going to stay in Paris for 5 days.

Sketchy part of Paris. Wish the vending machines in the lobby worked and were stocked. Elevators would take you to different floors then what you wanted to go to. Sometimes the key card worked sometimes it wouldn't. The AC doesn't work well, woke up every night sweaty. Wish the rooms had more electrical outlets. Especially in the bathroom. Really hard to curl or straighten your hair without a mirror.

Windows do NOT open! A very cheap hotel, definitely not 4 stars. Rooms are very worn down, and some rooms have mold in the showers. Not only did the windows not open, but the ventilation/air conditioning system did not work. Also, beds are on wheels so it is really easy to move the bed by accident... But the lobby, restaurants, food, and staff were good. So 2/5 stars.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel 😔😔😔. When you come in, you can find a very pleasant place, beautiful, clean, spotless, everything you want. Soon you step into the elevator and after on the hall ways following the rooms, is a total shock. This is definitely not a 4 stars hotel. I will not give more than the 1 star. Rooms and hallways are very dirty, cleaning people don't give any shiz on your privacy, even after you telling them that they are not allowed in the room if you are the sign, they still went in, done more mess then was and no tidy up or clean the room if this was the intention to go in. We had a toilet door without a handle (as was missing and been promised that it will be fixed very soon {in one week of stay they weren't fixed at all). They are asking for money deposit on arriving, when we already paid in full everything with the company when we bought the flight and hotel tickets . Nobody told us that we will need to pay a deposit. Why should I pay a deposit, when they treated us like nobody in the room and without privacy. I should have asked them for money back when I left🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️.... In few words, stop booking for this particular hotel NOVOTEL PARIS EST.... Oh and I forgot to say. We paid for breakfast and we had barely couple option on what to eat. No variety and same thing every single day👎👎👎

I absolutely hated, despised, and was put into deep anguish by this godforsaken hotel. Let’s start with the rooms. There is no air conditioning, even in months where it makes perfect and reasonable sense to have it. The beds are itchy and have bed bugs in them, this mixed with the lack of air conditioning provide for a more than suboptimal sleeping experience. The showers are moldy and are built strangely, at a level at which it is uncomfortable to use them. The pillows and mattresses are hard, the windows do not open. The customer service and front desk phones do not work. Which brings us to the employees. They are incompetent. Our room keys deactivated multiple times throughout our stay, and would not work on either the room or the elevator. The elevators also frequently break and have problems with the doors, when they fail to shut or are forced to be shut manually. The food here is alright, although the organization of it is poor. The facilities such as the gym, cafeteria, public restrooms and the two restaurants are also poor in quality, but none compare to the joke that is the video Game Center, consisting of just a single monitor without even a keyboard or mouse. Overall, I would never stay here again, and i hope this place figures out it’s business practices soon.

After checking in and getting the keys we arrived to our room to find out other guests we already in our allocated room. We went back down to reception and the staff were very rude and unhelpful. We were allocated a 2nd room which was designed for disabled guests, meaning there was no shower just a bath. The beds were uncomfortable and hard. The toilet would not flush until you did it 3 to 4 times. The room smelt like someone had been smoking in there. The windows don't open and the AC wasn't able to be operated during our stay.

We stayed 4 nights at end of Oct, we report to reception the room air conditioner cannot adjust the temperature in the first day, however it seems that no one to fix it. Room is too warm and drying, it is definitely not comfortable. Also, the hotel double charged us the City Tax, we chasing the group CS and also email directly to hotel, but no any response yet till now. Not recommended.

I was not impressed with my room here. Mattresses where the thinnest I have ever slept on. The air conditioner barely worked leaving the room sweltering most of the time. And the neighborhood around the hotel didn’t look like the kind of area you would necessarily want to stroll around. Agree with other reviews that their large group rates must be the only reason anyone is staying here. So expect a long wait at the elevators if you do choose this hotel.

I was very impressed with the hospitality of some staffs. They are very understanding and helpful, especially so when it has helped a tired traveller who simply want hussle free check in. My strong commendation to Mr Kalidou. Thank you.

Little family room with a very bad sleeping coach. The springs came trough. The room was around 20u00, 33 degrees Celsius hot and in the morning still 29 degrees! The switch for climate control was broken. The breakfast was very poor. Interior looks very nice and modern but the service and quality is very poor! The other Novotel at the north side of Paris (Chapelle) was zo mutch better! The only positive thing was very friendly people.

I have not returned my money that belongs to me! When I was checking in at the hotel, one of the working ladies there warned me that my money that was blocked would not be returned to me, so I had to be careful with this issue! Now I have exactly this problem. When I entered the hotel on the evening of October 23, they issued me 200 euros and told me that it would be returned to me on October 27. But to this day I have not returned this amount! Urgently give me my money of 200 euros within 24 hours from this second, otherwise I will tell you in every social space where you are, what a terrible hotel it is! I will tell you that my 8-year-old son found a rat in the room!!!! Dirty hotel with terrible service! Get my money back immediately!

The service is not that great. We booked a room for 3 and were provided with Sofa cum Bed that wouldn't open, the reception didn't answer our call and hence had to get down to the reception, the blankets for the sofa cum bed were dirty and they didn't provide us with a proper quilt even when asked. The room didn't have water bottle, went down to the reception again they said they will send it but didn't. So overall, very disappointing experience.

It is an old hotel. But with all the basics. Service is not the best. Too crowded at buffet breakfast. Too long waiting in lines for coffee. Good thing is the last stop of Lane 3 of the Metro that takes you to Lafayette Galleries by the Opera.

We arrived late and the check-in procedure lasted 15 mins with the staff claiming extra costs which had already been paid, and then providing us with an invalid parking exit chit which we had to argue to have corrected. The room itself is in dire need of repair and renovation. Overall cleanliness of the facility is poor. Great location however right next to the highway, lots of onsite parking available, and the staff at the bar were very helpful in feeding us at a very late hour just before they closed for the night.

I stayed with a group here, most of us were pleased with the hotel and its services. Rooms are good, breakfast is good, location is far but hotel is right next to metro station, so it is ok. The best about the hotel is though its staff. There are two people I would like to specially thank here, the night manager (couldn’t get his name) but the one with the ‘mana’ power :). thank you for solving all the problems of our group. And the lady at the breakfast entrance, Madame Kheira, thank you too, your kindness and smile made us feel so good in the hotel!

The room carpet is sticky, bulb is fused upon entering the room. The sofa has sweet wrappers in between the gaps. Limited spread for breakfast

Having to stay here in this hotel for 3 nights makes me think twice if I will stay here again if given the chance to go back in Paris. Hotel bed is just very far from the ideal comfortable and clean one. Room also has a couch bed that also doesnt offer a good night's rest either. Bathroom toilet is seperate from bath. Overall the room is out-dated. Breakfast is unappetizing. Plus it gets really crowded. Not perfect for a peaceful breaky time.

We have just checked in today, the receptionist was nice however as we got into the room, the sofa bed was broken and we had to change. They gave us a new room where the mini bar fridge looks broken and not stocked. No coffees/teas. We checked in 3 people but there are only two sets of towels in the room.

Hotel tried to give me one of the lower end rooms than the one I had booked through their app. Key had to be re-issued almost every single day. I was charged 100 Euros for incidentals at the end of my stay even though I was assured many times during the check in process it would not be charged to my credit card. To top it off, AFTER I had checked out, they made an unauthorized charge on my initial booking credit card of $140. I am e-mailing in hopes of resolving the issue since they are an international phone call. But based on other reviews I have seen, I do not have high hopes for a response.

We stayed 3 nights, it was fine. Staff was always very kind and helpful (we're English speaking). The lobby is nice, breakfast was very good. I wouldn't call it a 4-star place, simply due to the rooms being older and pretty plain. The only gripe we had was elevators. One morning only 2 were in operation and after waiting 6 minutes to get on, we took the stairs from the 14th floor. People from floors below ours were getting on elevators that were heading up just to get a spot in the elevator, so by the time they arrived to 14, they were full.

I would call it motel than a hotel. Price vs old/not renoveted rooms is not reasonable. Windows not opening even a tiny bit due to safety reasons so no fresh air, had a cough from dust & same possible detergents used for cleaning. No electric socket in the bathroom also it was said due to safety. There are even no bed side tables, had tu use chair instead. Walls, ceiling, electric switch, mirror very low quality, nothing has been renovated. Dont even know how this hotel could be rated with 4*. Wouldnt go there.

It's a huge hotel just outside the arrondissements of Paris adjacent to the Paris Périphérique, so it was quite amazing to see the volume of traffic , but being on the 8th floor, the noise was muted by the double glazing that doesn't open. We had a view towards the city skyline, but the hotel is situated in the built up suburbs. It was ok for us, it was great value , literally within easy walking distance of metro, with easy access to city. The room was big, clean and had all facilities. The biggest TV I have seen in a hotel. It had a fridge but no minibar but there was a complementary bottle of water . Access to a bar and a restaurant. We skipped the breakfast as it was 19.50 a person and there are cafes and restaurants a few metres away serving breakfast. We had no complaints apart from not being told you have to swipe your room key in lifts and it was only after trying all six lifts not being able to get out at right floor , we were told :) . But I would definitely stay there again.

Not a bad hotel , but not in the best of the neighborhoods. Stayed there for few night in 2014. The subway station nearest to the hotel at night is scary, even though told that it is safe. Fairly away from the center.

Its a very big Hotel . I have found only the Reception Area and Restaurant good, otherwise my room was not good, i have requested to change the room , but was not available, Toilet was very very small, and the room and Shower Area was not clean, i have found lot of hairs on Bed and in Shower area. In the Night there was a lot of noise. Floor was also dirty. Underground Parking was available for 20 Euros per day, but the pathway was very narrow and was only one pathway to go in and out of the Parking.

  • 4/5 Omar A. 1 year ago on Google
Depends what you will be doing. The location is a bit far from down Paris, yet it is near the metro station. Good & clean rooms; however the breakfast not that rich experience. Some of reception teams are bit slow; room key was deactivated 3 times during my stay which I needed to activate.

  • 4/5 Liza C. 1 year ago on Google
The Hotel is near to the metro station which is good to travel through out Paris. The hotel reception people are very friendly. Breakfast is pretty much good , however if there could be a variation on daily basis that would really help me to give a 5 star rating. Overall it was a good stay.

This is not a 4 star hotel, 3 star at best. I was told all the rooms have the same issue with low, low air flow airconditioning which means the room was very warm even in October. The hotel service man came twice and was able to improve cooling air flow by 10% but still not to my comfort expectation, however, by late at night the room did cool down. If you like heavy popcorn textured walls and ceilings you found the right place. The hotel staff is good yet some were less responsive to inquiries and help. The hotel owners are woeful to modernize and improve per my comments. The white paint exterior of the hotel begs for new paint. The supper in the restaurant was below expectations. Do not order the hamburger with the strange cheese spread. The toilet- if you like your knees pressed to the door you found the right place. I would not recommend this hotel.

By Novotel standards this was not amazing. Stayed an Ibis Styles in Dijon just before. It was like a 5 star hotel in comparison. The mediocre at best experience was not enhanced by another family walking into our room on the last night. Luckily they immediately left noticing the room was occupied. When we complained the next morning, the staff at the desk thought it funny while acknowledging the error. No apology at all though. Seems it also happened the previous week. We had young children with us. This was a security issue which they cared very little about. Not great.

Staff were well mannered. Reception Bar and Foyer were very well presented. My room was not cleaned to the standard I have come to expect from this chain. Was very surprised as to how dated the rooms were.

We stayed there for 3 nights, good location buses and metro within 5 minutes walk , staff are very helpful, friendly and professional, we were greeted by reception staff and Catherine who made us feel very welcoming followed by coffee. Room was very clean and tidy and bed was very comfy. Over we enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this Hotel. Thank you all 👏🏼
