My favourite sushi restaurant to go to! It's smaller than their other branches. However, same as all other branches, their service is great and their staffs are all friendly. Food quality is excellent! (Disclosure: menu and taste is catered towards local taste buds and not necessarily authentic). My recommendation for those who haven't tried excapade (* all time favorites): *Salmon fire cheese - a must order. A torched cheese layer on top of aburi salmon. *Mini salmon mayo - salmon wrapped around sushi rice topped with mayonnaise and ikura. *Una ikura maki - fried unagi maki topped with mayonnaise and ikura. *Mini California special - a fried twist to the all time loved California maki. *Salmon unagi ikura temaki - best temaki combination for salmon and unagi lovers. Tempura moriawase/ebi - lightly battered vegetables, prawns and fish. Crunchy and delicious. Chirashi don - a variety of sashimi (tuna, salmon, ika, tako, saba) and tamago on top of a bed of rice. Karage - crunchy, moist and perfectly seasoned fried chicken. Grilled salmon head - teriyaki sauce is amazing and the salmon head is fresh and fatty. There are many more of my favourite dishes but these are interesting and unique to excapade.

Brunei most popular Japanese sushi restaurant with many branches, counted 14 outlets at one time but now reduce some outlet due to understaffed during covid period. Price are reasonable with generous portion that keep regulars like me coming back, especially with member 10% discount privilege card. Very fresh sushi and good japanese food & restaurant ambient. Highly recommended

Excapade Japanese Restaurant One Riverside offers the best food among its branches and excellent hospitality. However, this location is known for its slow service. It's recommended that staff inform customers if their food will take more than 45 minutes.

Excapade is one of the many restaurants in Brunei that has several branches throughout the country. I think I want to try as many branches of Excapade as I can in Brunei to attest and determine which one is the best out of all! It was my first time dining at this branch. Initially we wanted to have lunch at another Japanese restaurant (a quick Google Maps search can easily identify which one this is), but we didn’t reserve and it was full. Luckily this is nearby, walked in and they had a table available for a group of 5-6 people. Shortly after claiming a table, the restaurant became very busy and packed quickly. The physical menu is likely the same across almost all of its branches - with the exception of ones with special menu features (ie ramen, teppanyaki etc). The menu provides labels for which dishes are vegetarian - which is very useful for someone like myself who doesn’t consume seafood and meat. Like every other Excapade branch, you write down the code of the dish, quantity and if there are any request (amendments to be made to accommodate to dietary needs) under ‘remarks’. ‘Green tea’ is already marked but optional. The server/staff would provide a pot. I had the plain inari, plain rice, tofu teriyaki, kappa hosomaki, avocado hosomaki, vege wakame maki. I liked the quality of the each dish - the sushi rice was well-seasoned. Good amount of fillings and rice being distributed in the sushi. I believe this is one of their ‘smaller’ branches, so not good if you’re unlucky and decide to walk in spontaneously with a group during busy dining hours. Tables fit 4 people at most (without combining tables) and there seemed to be limited tables outside, although with the humidity, people don’t really dine outside. It’s highly recommended to make reservations at this branch. Condiments include soy sauce, teriyaki, wasabi, pickled ginger, shichimi togarashi. Table comes with plate, sauce plate, chopsticks, cup, wet tissue. Service is good and attentive, but can be a bit slow during busy hours. Probably one of the best Excapade branches - but my adventures continue!

The kitchen crew deserves much credit..food quality was great, well prepped and plated. Happy tummy effect! The front house service is not efficient - took 3 staff to seat one customer and the bill takes a while to be processed. Beyond that, a disturbing factor is that 1m distance btwn tables is not observed at all, nor do the staff check Bruhealth status or do any checks for that matter. If these assurances matter to you given the pandemic, then avoid dining in here.

Jest smacznie, jest sympatycznie, panuje lekki chaos, ale wynika z ilości gości i w sumie pozytywnej atmosfery. Obsługa jest wesoła, uśmiechnięta - aż chce się z nimi wchodzić w interakcje :) jedzenie ładnie podane, smaczne, a ceny bardzo przystępne (szczególnie jeśli porównamy do cen sushi w Europie)

Food is overpriced. Taste wise 4.5/10 for me. Well some are definitely 9/10 especially tempura series. Overall better to spend your money somewhere else unless your like rich and maybe a weeb I guess then this place your go to lepak , spent time ya family and enjoy time. Cause you only have on life. Give it try you weebos.

I had a really awful experience. They instructed us to place our order in advance via WhatsApp for sungkai hour, so we arrived 30 minutes early. We had to ask for water because our order hadn't arrived, and we believed they had taken note of this because even after Adzan they still hadn't acknowledged us.When we approached them 15 minutes after sungkai, they admitted they had forgotten to enter our orders. They did not apologize and did not respond well to our approach. Even though puasa is currently happening, we would still accept it if it were a normal day. Despite this one negative encounter, we adore adventure.

Really, excapade used to be my favorite japanese food place. After covid, everything changed. The new menu is Much more EXPENSIVE. And the portion, omg the portion is so small. After years of being a regular patron of them, now I would start visiting other Japanese restaurants How the mighty have fallen.

Soup and sauces are too salty ! Ordered kimchi fried rice, takes forever to come. The rest of the food is alright.

Waited 40-50 mins for our food to arrive, when I asked the waitress she told me to "bare with us". At least an apology for the delay would have been nice... "Bare with us". If I could give 0 stars for the poor service I would.
