Highly recommended for family, friends, kids or couples its a truly worth place if you are planning to spend a few of your valuable time with your loved ones. Its calm and quite, the only request from my side is that please please please dont through any waste here and there these are dustbins allocated for such purposes, you can enjoy the beauty of the lake by getting a boat ride there are refreshment areas for your hunger & thirst. And a wide varieties of vegetation and scenic beauty to explore to a large extend.

Pilikula biological park is a beautiful well maintained zoo. This is a very green clean place. Here the animals have a larger enclosure than most other zoo's. It is about a 3km walk in total or you can take a buggy. The zoo is a part of larger Pilikula nirsarga dhama, which consists of lake garden, science center, planetarium etc. It is a great place to visit with family children, or just couples or friends.

Had Good experience visiting here ... So many species of wild life to see..its good almost 3 km walk inside, battery cart tour also available with a cheap price ticket.snacks shop at beginning and in between of tour. It took us 4 hour to see all animals and read about them . Did not get to see Giraffe and elephant this time.. reason not known. Good time to visit in morning because of later at afternoon sunshine makes its effect on experience.

Very good atmosphere and environment for the animals. The zoo had plenty of trees. Very spacious. Worth the visit for the ticket prices. Visit morning hours to see the animals active. Lucky to see the tigers roaming around. Leopard climbing up and down and the hippos taking a family bath. My 3 year old really loved it. Only disappointment for him was a male lion was missing, guess it fell sick as we could hear the roaring somewhere but couldn’t spot it.

Such a awesome park and a hidden gem in this region. It has various sections including science, planetarium, biological section, botanical garden, nursery, medicinal plants, boating, zoo, aquarium, water park, artisan areas, recreated Guttu house; it is really mind boggling to see such diverse park. Kudos to the administration and the visionaries behind the park; a must visit for all ages. There are couple of restaurants within the park and plenty of parking. Do plan to spend a whole day to see it all. They have tickets for individual attractions or do-it-all style. When we visited on a weekday, there were hardly any people.

Visited the Pilikula Biological Park in Mangalore, and I must say that while it has the potential to be a great zoological park, it currently falls short in many aspects. The park boasts a variety of animals, including lions, tigers, crocodiles, hippopotamuses, deer, and bears, which are the main attractions. However, the limited number of animals is disappointing, and I hope to see more species added in the future. One of the major drawbacks of the park is the poor amenities and badly maintained facilities. The overall cleanliness and upkeep of the park need significant improvement. It is essential for a zoological park to provide a clean and well-maintained environment to ensure the well-being of the animals and the satisfaction of visitors. To navigate the park, an electric car is available for a fee of 100 rupees per person. While this is a convenient option, it adds an additional cost to the visit. Alternatively, visitors can opt for a 3-kilometer walk within the park, which can be tiring for some, especially considering the hot weather conditions. The entry ticket price of 80 rupees per person seems reasonable, considering the limited offerings currently available. The park is situated away from busy town around 15 kilometers. Overall, the Pilikula Biological Park has potential, but there is a lot of room for improvement. I would recommend focusing on expanding the variety of animals, enhancing the maintenance of the facilities, and providing better amenities for visitors. With these improvements, the park could become a more enjoyable and worthwhile experience for both locals and tourists alike

Not very well maintained. Snakes kept in enclosure are looking like they all are going to die. No lighting in many places. Less visibility in enclosure because of not cleaning glasses. There are many unoccupied enclosures than occupied ones 😂. Main attraction might be the two tigers present. Lot of walking to be done to cover everything. If you go by electric buggy they will skip many places. Not much crowded on even sundays. Places meant for families with kids.

A nice place to visit with family or friends. In the zoo, can see many wild animals and birds. Inside, rental electric vehicle is also there. Near by zoo, parks and boating is also available. We should spend atleast 4-5 hours here.

Visited this place last Friday. The Crowd was less. The climate was good. We have to buy the entry ticket in the front office, They offer individual tickets and combo tickets as well. If you come by your own car, we can drive in after getting tickets. Otherwise we have to walk inside the area. The area was large, it has a science museum, zoo, children's park, cultural village etc. . . There is a water theme park too. . I visited the park, science museum and zoo... All the places are too good... Regarding the zoo, we have to walk long to cover the full zoo. . battery vehicles are also available, in case you can't walk long distance . . To reach cultural village, we can go by walk or we can go by auto also.. It is 2 kms long from entrance . So they have a separate auto stand for that, inside the area. There is a hotel opposite the Zoo. . I had lunch there. The taste was normal... I personally like the science museum and Zoo. .

Place is very peaceful with lush green trees, well maintained tracks for walking, and variety of beautiful and rare animal and bird collection.... However reducing one star because I feel there must be more space for birds.. meaning the cages containing birds are too small.. it feels sad to watch them. I hope you'll make more special in upcoming days. Big Parking Available Best Place For Relaxing

A good place to go for a one day visit. The nature is very well preserved & we can see a lot of different species of greens out there. Also there is a zoology park where animals are kept in big enclosures with lot of greenery & woods which will make them feel at home & happy. The place is maintained well & to commute internally they have battery operated vehicle. There are others sections to display the artisans work, guthu house, museum & a short boating area. The ticket cost around 300 ₹ per person which includes almost everything except the boating. For boating it costs us 350 ₹ for a ride. Also if you need opt for battery car to take you inside the zoo if you don't feel like walking, it will take you 100₹ per person. Only thing which I dint like is the boat was operated with some fuel which caused a little pollution. Rest assured the place is super cool to visit with family & spend time

One of the well maintained Biological park or zoo located inside Pilikula Nisargadhama in the outskirts of Mangalore. It's near to the entry point located in the right side just opposite to planetarium. Plenty of birds like owls, eagles, peacocks, parrots, parakets, cranes, snakes like king cobra, white python, normal python, Russell's viper, water snakes, crocodiles, deers, bear, tiger, lion, cheetahs, hippos, fox, bison, varieties of tortoises and monkeys etc. were there to welcome you! All the animals were maintained in the natural habitat to feel comfort. The numbers were also good enough for the animals to not feel loneliness. The entire vast area is maintained neat and clean with good amount of vegetation. You have the option to see by walking or taking the electric operated vehicle's by paying nominal prescribed fees. There are eateries in the entrance which sells refreshments. Worth to visit place for animals lover's and must to visit place for children's to see lots of animals in real at one place which they used to see in the pictures in textbooks or in television.

Pilikula Biological Park is a haven for nature enthusiasts seeking tranquility and a close connection with wildlife. The afternoon visit around 3 pm to 5 pm is highly recommended, allowing ample time for a thorough exploration of the park. The availability of buggy cars add to the positive experience. It's a place where one can escape the bustle of everyday life and appreciate the beauty of nature in a calm and peaceful setting. Arriving around 3 pm, I found this timing to be ideal for a visit. The weather was pleasant, and the animals were relatively active. Two hours was just the right amount of time to thoroughly explore and appreciate the park.

Park consists of a zoo, lake with boating, planetarium and regional science center. All parts are open. You can walk around the park or hire a buggy to take you around the park. There are multiple petty stores through the park providing refreshments and snacks. There are also a few stalls with artisanal crafts and jewellery.

A good zoo for Kids to visit. There is also Guthu Mane which shows traditional house in ancient Mangalore. It has got lot of Culture to show like Folk dances, House arrangements in olden days. Lots of information to see. It is better to start early to visit this place as there is too much to walk. Carry water. You can book the Battery operated car to easy travel once you are there. Zoo is enjoyable for kids as lot of animals and 🐍 to see!!

It's not Zoo as it named it's Biological Park! Place has wide range of wild animals, serpants and birds. The major attractions is Tiger, Lion & Lepord. All age people can enjoy this park. It has canteen and restroom inside. On and around it's 2 KM walk to see complete park. You will find Peacock all around the park while walk. Animals are treated well. I personally like Tiger and Hayna. Recommended to visit at list once on tour of Mangalore city.

Our whole experience was OK. Went in to the Biological garden first and was disappointed looking at the state of animals and birds. Lion & Tigers looked like they were starved. Was shocked to see the Tigers soo thin!! Deers/Sambar (not sure what the exact name was) enclosure was small for their numbers. Birds crammed into small cages. Bears too were thin as well. Wasn't happy looking at all those. They should look at improving the state of the park and making life bearable for those poor creatures stuck living there till they die!

Its a place called Pilikula village where they have few attractions one is the zoe. We had gone there around 10:30/11:00. The place is quite nice, not too many varieties of animals but for the price you are paying it's quite nice and very well maintained. The place is clean, they do have some places to snack inside. Its a good walk though Mangalore weather is not pleasant. One of the nice places to visit in Mangalore.

We had a good experience overall of visiting the Pilikula biological park. The positives were the lots of spaces and greenery and most animals (specially tiger and lion) had large enclosure which was good to note. Lots of food and rest options within the park. The only concern was maintenance issue and lots of leaves/fallen tree branches covering the pathway and weeds in enclosures. Signs and directions within the park can be improved.

  • 3/5 Reetesh R. 3 years ago on Google
A decent zoo in Mangalore. You get to see a good collection of animals. They need to raise the safety standards though as I feel the barricades at tiger and other enclosures are too low at some points. And also less security at places.

Zoo is amazing the animals are in great shape... Drawback not maintained might be due to recent pandemic and staff shortage issue and amazing animals like wild cats are seen very far as compared to other zoos

  • 5/5 Vineeth P. 3 years ago on Google
Animals looks to be in good health.. Maintained well.. The people carrying outside foods like biscuits, water bottles etc should not throw the left over bottles and waste inside the zoo premises..

  • 2/5 Naveen K. 3 years ago on Google
Biological Garden - All the birds and animals are tightly enclosed in the cage. You cant get proper view even after standing there for five to ten minutes. Aquatic animals and squirrels , cats are enclosed in glass but the glasses are not transparent at all. Not at all worth visiting. Not a place for photography. Lake Garden - Lake garden is well maintained. You can spend 1 hr or more than that . Its nice place and worth visiting.

  • 4/5 Vaibhav R. 3 years ago on Google
A large area with relatively fewer animals. The good thing here is that most of the animals are not caged, rather placed in a big enclosure. The snake enclosure was the highlight for me!!! If there are senior citizens, travel via buggy is advisable. There are only 2 food points available, which serve snacks and juice options. First one is just at the entrance and the second one you can spot after visiting around 60% of the place.

Wonderful place. Must visit. I like to give the feedback if the official of the zoo read it. My feed back is that some of animal exhibit like civet, snakes, monster, lizard etc are kept in a glass exhibit which is good but the problem is the glass is not maintained properly. We cannot see animal which is sitting far away Coz the glass is covered with dust or smudge which cleaning is needed (I think it better to change the glass) and also some lighting can be added inside the glass exhibit. But overall it's superb and amazing wonderful place Mangalore and One must visit. I am also manglorean and I annoying it every Once every three to four Years.

Very good place to spend a day with family. The process are reasonable & pocket friendly. They have battery operated vehicles to commute in the park. Ample parking space.

  • 5/5 Fahad P. 3 years ago on Google
It's good place. U must take an electric vehicle provided by the park while getting your tickets. If u won't take a vehicle provided by them u cannot go to the places park has because every place is so far in the park. It's like a kilometre away from the gate of park. The park contains: 1. Zoo 2. Old museum 3. Botanical museum ( So boring don't it's a waste of time. If u are going there for some botanical research or for study I recommend u to go here) 4. Botanical Park / Boat ride

I visited here almost 8 year back. And to say this was my first experience to watch the animals in a open environment. Neat and clean place and a must visit specially if you have kids with you.

Awesome place to visit by the family and friends. Needs at least 4-5 hours to complete the circuit. It opens at 10.00am and firstly it would be good to complete Artisan village and Guttumane, followed by Herbarium and Botanical museum, then Science museum and 3D show at 2.00pm(also a show at 4.00pm). After 3D show visit to zoo and finally evening to the park. There is a provision of battery run vehicle to visit between these places. Avoid visiting weekends. It is around 10-12 kms from city of Mangalore. There are some lodges too if anyone interested to spend a night.

Lot of attractions (zoo, lake and garden, guthi mane, science Center and planetarium) that will appeal to many. Facilities are also great with free parking and electric vehicle shuttles (good for those who don’t want to walk too much). Science Center was one of my favourites and I will definitely visit again.

Total 150 acres land. Not much animals now a days. Most of the time they will be on reading in the corner. Hard to see mainly big cats... Taking car service inside is good which cost you 100. If you are going in a group. Need to improve a lot. But place location are very good

  • 5/5 Vignesh S. 2 years ago on Google
A serene and clean environment. Offers peace of mind to be in such places. Nice experience to be there. A must try place when you are around Mangalore. You can buy the combo pack offered by the Forest authority to explore a lot of places and watch the movie as well about planets. 😎

Its great place to spend one full day at Mangalore. Located at around 15 kms away from the city, it has a gud blend of nature, science, biology, arts, tradition all at a single place. Do take the buggy car while travelling inside cos the area is very wide. Enjoyable place for kids and very nice place to keep them occupied thruout the day. The toilets are clean too.

It is good place to spend a day time. Zoo is nice, animals were kept in natural surroundings. Planetarium show was awesome. Old house shows traditional part of Karnataka. Lake garden, botanical garden, boating are other things that you can enjoy there. Must visit place. Only drawback is location, it's far away from city.

  • 5/5 Gautham R. 2 years ago on Google

Lack of Maintenance... Some animals and birds are injured, they are out of Care, it feels very bad to see them in that condition.

  • 4/5 jyo f. 2 years ago on Google
It's a nice place to visit especially with kids. Animals aren't that many but enough to bring a smile. Since the enclosures of big cats🦁🐯 big they aren't always readily visible.. in all a nice day out with family and kids...

  • 5/5 Ganesh Kumar B. 2 years ago on Google
A must try place in Mangalore. My daughter loved the science center and planetarium. Me too. The way they organise the transport, visitor plans are extraordinary. Staffs are well knowledgeable and able to give the right guidance to the visitors. We took the 200 + 30 for battery car ticket and it is worth. We didn't plan properly, but i would recommend to plan for one day trip.

Best time to go is in winters. We went in Feb. It had become very warm & humid. The animal was limited as due to the heat most were in their shelters.

  • 3/5 Nameer K. 2 years ago on Google
The park does not have a lot of animals to see. Main attractions are Asiatic lion, Bengal tige, leopard, and bear etc.. There are ice cream shops inside the park. If you are in the area and want to spend some time with your family and friends, then you can definitely check it out.

  • 4/5 SHAFEEK M. 1 year ago on Google
Nice place to share quality walk time, popular animals are there felt like they can be maintained quite good

  • 4/5 Leslie S. 1 year ago on Google
This place is really underrated in terms of visibility to tourists. I would highly recommend that every tourist visit this place as it has all in one experience - planetarium, zoo, lake amongst others. You can take a full ticket worth 220 that includes visit to all or you can take as per your convenience. Golf cart ride is 40 and that is a hell lot of convenient to move around places

  • 4/5 Nirbhay S. 1 year ago on Google
Very much informative place for kids and even for adult generations.Couldnot visit planetarium as all of the tickets were booked even i had visited on weekday.Zoo is good and other science experiments activities were also very informative.I have bought package tickets.

The biological park is an experience in itself as one gets to see all the animals in their natural habitat! One could opt for battery operated cars especially when with kids and elderly parents/relatives. We tried for one but the staff refused saying two adults and two kids is not enough to get started. (Minimun 5 person per trip, 100/person and 30 rs for kids below 10 years. However, we saw them serving VIP crowd even when two individuals came for the visit. Staff attitude towards kids and senior citizen is very poor. Rest of the facility is good.

Pilikula has a biological park, water (amusement) park, golf course and a lake, all in a huge complex. It's worth a day's activities. We visited Pilikula zoo or biological park only. The entry fee is 70rs per person. You can easily spend 2 hours on a minimum here. There are quite a few animals and birds here which are worth your time and click as many photos as you want. I visited Mysore zoo two weeks ago and it was a shame (the state of animals there and the variety of animals there). Compared to Mysore Zoo, this one is definitely better for me. For my surprise the animals were quite active (take for example leopard and lions. They were walking about inside their enclosure). The leopard (might as well be cheetah - sorry if I got the names wrong) was walking around the cage on the ladders at the top of the cage (it was quite a sight) (video attached). The hyenas were something I kinda liked seeing. They were walking about nicely and a few of those locked inside the cage were howling (or is it screaming, yelling?); Kinda scary to hear lol. The park is well maintained. There are food stalls at the entrance and at the halfway point too. If you didn't carry water or snacks, you buy some just before you start your tour of the park. Bring your camera/dslr along. You won't be charged extra for it.

It is a nice place to see a place in Mangalore GUTHU HOUSE, There are a lot of options to visit the zoo, lake garden, planetarium, water park, science auditorium, nursery pottery making, etc. Ticket charges are reasonable price. It is a place to bring kids and families tours. Apart from this, the environment is good, with no pollution, no plastic. You can spend one day fully

Must visit if u have curious kid. People with knee/health issues should avoid as lots of walking is involved. Kids will enjoy for sure.

I visited Pilikula Biological Park recently and had a great time. I was particularly impressed by the Lion Safari, where you can see lions, tigers, and other animals in their natural habitat. I also enjoyed the Butterfly Park, which has a variety of butterflies, including the Blue Morpho and the Common Mormon. The park is well-maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Pilikula Biological Park to anyone who is looking for a fun and educational day out.

Pilikula is a zoo which are mainly helpful for childrens & it is better to visit in the mornings or evenings. The zoo has variety types of animals and reptiles. There is a science centre where zoological studies can be done. Overall a good place and educational.

Loved the Biological park, the way they have kept the animals it's really giving a jungle feel, i would highly recommend this place to visit. And they have this lake view garden as well which is beautiful, try to go in the evening because at noon it's very hot in Dec.

Nice place to go with your family/friends or solo too. Range of animals at the zoo. I have yet to try the Lake boating, planetarium and few other activities here. Better to come for half a day of activities here.
