As a first time customer I just experienced the WORST customer service ever! I walked in to this establishment and the employe at the register was on their phone and not very interested to be at work. I ordered the chicken plate and substituted salad for soup. I get my order to open it up to flavorless overcooked chicken and pita. The soup was watery and also lacked flavor and salt. I asked the employee to speak with a manager and of course no one available in person. She called a fellow named Teddy that goes on and on about their marinate and that they’ve never have gotten a complaint about their food. By the looks of it on google reviews they have! Teddy went back and forth with me as I simply indicated that their food was not up to par and I requested a refund. He declined my request and I let him know that when a customer is not pleased they should do the right thing by them. So here I am stuck with dry and tasteless chicken and pita. Mr. Gyros get it together before you continue lose more customers like myself. I do not recommend the Olathe location to anyone who is looking for a traditional tasteful and flavorful “greek” meal.

I have spent a lot of money eating at this restaurant due to covid 19 and I am disappointed and am attaching a picture of our lettuce from my last order. My mom and I ordered for lunch 2 Greek salads and they had lettuce that was brown rusty looking and dirty and unsafe to eat. I got very sick and was on the toilet for hours afterwards considering it's the only food I ate was from here so I know for sure it was this food .... I am very upset about the horrible quality and my tiramisu was not fresh either it was old and soggy! I usually get fairly decent food from here but the last couple of times I've ordered has been subpar! Oh and yes that is black stuff on the lettuce in the picture provided it is not the natural color of it. The reason I ate any of my salad at all is because the old brown rusty lettuce was hidden on bottom of each salad and you couldn't see it until you ate top part of salad. I am lucky I didn't get sicker than I did from this experience!funny they can stay in business with this quality of food!!

Very clean, food was excellent and staff was friendly. A bit overpriced for what they're serving, and the 'guilt tip' prior to them providing any service whatsoever is annoying. It's as if they're saying "we're going to cook your food and call out a number. You'll come get it, eat it, and buss your own table. Please tip us for that and if you don't, well, we know beforehand don't we. Good luck." MG, you have great food. Don't taint the experience.

Best food I've eaten in years. I had the gyro with their spicy sauce. Every single bite was heaven. I will be thinking about it all day tomorrow. Will be telling everyone I know about Mr. Gyro's. Worth every penny and more. I would happily pay double. So good.

I have eaten here on and off with my family and friends since I was 14-that’s over 32 years!! My all time favorite Gyro restaurant hands down. I have a lot of happy memories here and it always brings me a familiar nostalgia every time I go. Prices are reasonable. Service is great. A must try if you haven’t eaten here yet! Family friendly.

Me and my family have been going to Mr Gyros for 30 years and have always been pleased and treated well, but today I ordered a Gyros plate and a small Greek salad. My number was 28 and it was a take out order. We waited for 20 minutes patiencely while #29 -34 received their orders, when I decided to let the young lady at the counter know that several people who ordered after us had been served she seemed irritated and apparently my order had been sitting on the serving shelf. She wrapped it up and put it on the counter calling out 28. When I picked it up and said thanks, she just turned away to continue with other orders. There was no apology just an irritated glance. By the time we got home the food was cold. Like I said, we have never been treated like this, and now we're wondering whether we should go back.

Came in to pick up a delivery order, told the counter employee the name for the order and she checked the tickets. "That one just got started so it'll be a little bit." Fine by me. I sat there for 20 minutes and after watching 2 different customers who came in after me leave with their food, I asked what the status on the order was. The counter employee checked with the chef. They couldn't find the ticket anymore. They had put the ticket away with the other "completed order" tickets and, after 20 minutes, had made ZERO progress on the food I was there to pick up. Thanks for wasting my time Mr Gyro

Normally love this place. Food is great. Staff is a bit abrupt. We usually eat at the Overland Park location (83rd and Metcalf). In line at 6:21 this evening to order food fire dine-in. The staff member behind the counter starts pulling the floor mats and piles them up on the customer side of the counter. Keep in mind the store will not close for 1.5 hours. People were sitting on the bench right next to the grouse stinky stack of floor mats. This is at least the third time I’ve had this experience. The staff has no regard to how this impacts their customers. Tonight a gentleman in a wheelchair and all other customers had to make detours around the pile. This was purely a convince for 1 staff member. Trying to get her side-work done early.

Quick, affordable and tasty! Can't wait to try other items on the menu!

Ate lunch and got the special, a chicken plate with Peta bread and a salad with a drink included for $10. Very good value and the food was delicious. Food was delivered in a resonable time frame. Bread was served very warm and stayed warm for a good while. I'd go back and I plan to take friends. Restaurant was also clean and I saw it being actively cleaned when tables were turned. I hadn't been there in years!

The front people weren't rude but you could tell they didn't care. The gyro was all meat and no sauce. Usually you expect lettuce, tomato, olives, onions and the sauce lightly covering everything. What I got was meat, pita and 4 toothpicks holding it together. The baklava was the best part, that alone gets the 3 stars.

Food is great no doubt. I ordered my food online at 5:17pm. Got there at 5:28 like the website said. Asked for my order they said give us a minute. I sat there for 30 minutes before I got my food. It was sitting on the counter ready for at least 15 minutes before they remembered me. Shame. It’s happened before as well.

It's good, nice for a light lunch. I would give it 3 stars because it's meh, just okay food for me. (The staff is top notch that's definitely a win) and my significant other would give it 5 so we are splitting the difference and going with a 4. I wasn't disappointed just wasn't wowed he was though. So if you're interested it's really worth trying. I can at a minimum guarantee you'll at least like the staff, unless you're a total shrew.

We did a catering order for 50 people today and everything went great! The food was ready at the promised time, everything was packed well, and the portion sizes were great for an office with young men. The food itself was warm and tasted amazing. Thank you for the great catering experience!

I went to this place twice in one week... It was delicious each time. The gyros and platters are my choice each time. They have a large list of items but these are so good it is difficult not to order them. And don't forget dessert.

I've been noticing this gyro place for a long time It was pretty good They had their gyro sandwich that was decent size and did need extra dressing and it is a place that is fast food like to get something Greek after all especially if you want gyros l.

Was absolutely delicious. I got the gyro sammie and a small Greek salad. I will definitely be back for more.

We have ate at this restaurant for years. Love their menu. My favorite is the large Greek salad. Have always found their quality to be very consistent. Dining room is kept very clean and in very good repair. If you like Greek food they are a must try and if you want really good food worth the try. We will be back as will their large clientel.

I ordered through door dash and it was hot, delicious and good portion size for the price!!

The food was delicious, one of the pastries we got (baklava) was a little over done but everything else was fantastic by all standards. The gyro sandwhich was a good size for the cost and the plate was only a few dollars more for a decent amount more added to the meal. This is definitely a return place to eat at. If you haven't tried it you should stop in and see what you've been missing from your go to places to eat list.

Mr. Gyro's has been my go-to for Greek take-out for as long as I can remember. As the name implies, the gyro platter is great stuff. I also like to get a small Greek salad on the side. The dressing is excellent, and for a small salad it's a lot of food. If you're in the mood for dessert, they've got a whole case full of excellent pastries. I've literally never had anything I didn't love. Though I tend to get carry out, I've dined in on occasion in the past and found it pleasant outside the lunch rush (though I miss the screens showing video of landscapes and small town scenes from Greece).

Ordered To Go. Did not receive everything that was ordered and the steak in the steak pita was so chewy and tough it was almost inedible. The other food ordered was good but I've definitely had better at other locations.

It was just weird listening to the 2 girls behind the counter complaining loud enough so the dinning area could hear about customers they had problems with. Made me laugh but saw a couple tables not too pleased with it.

Their food is generally good, with some items being stand outs. It's traditional Greek which is fantastic. But plastic forks and styrofoam plates! These things are unarguably toxic to our health and our environment. I understand these cheap things lower overhead but that isn't the best choice and looks cheap too.

Popped in very quickly inbetween meetings and staff were incredible. The gyro I chose was a steak slice instead of lamb, so it was interesting for my taste. Loved it! You should try it! Flavorful, value for money, lovely cost atmosphere and great service!

A bunch of Iceberg lettuce and a very small amount of toppings made for the blandest Greek salad ever. I’ve enjoyed dining at Mr. Gyro’s for 20+ years. The salad dressing is still delicious, but the skinny pieces of Gyro meat (which I added and paid extra for) and a tiny bit of feta and other toppings on the salad do not represent the fine history of this KC staple Greek establishment. I ate the entire salad, but since it was mostly just iceberg lettuce I find that I am still hungry! :-(

My dinner as always here was absolutely amazing!! I've never had a bad meal here. Everything is always so fresh and cooked to perfection. The best ingredients and cooks. The best employees and cleanest dining room and restrooms too. I'm getting hungry just thinking of a gyro plate while writing this review!. I can't wait to get back and for the most delicious Greek dessert's too !.

Delicious, fresh ingredients. Juicy, tender and well-seasoned chicken. Definite must try if you’re a fan of Mediterranean food! (My Uber driver recommended this place and said it’s the only place he goes to for authentic Greek food) I can see why!

I ordered the Daily lunch Deal but every time I tried to order take out there’s always things missing, this has been the second time! I mean the taste of each meal is good but the service of takeout is awful, your always missing something. Today missed salad for both orders , I have order the meal in restaurante and that’s not a salad, so I know how the order comes or what am I missing? Something changed ?

I come here almost everyday, as my office is within walking distance. Never had a bad experience. Whether dine in or takeout, the chicken plate is SO GOOD every time. Abby and the other girls that work at the front are awesome. I recommend eating the chicken with the spicy feta dip.
