💯✌🏻 This restaurant in Brunswick is unmissable, so I and my friend had to definitely check this place out. The restaurant felt as if it had been there for quite some time, just an observation. I really liked the simplicity of the place. Nothing too distracting, cozy and light. 😋💯 It was raining cats and dogs outsiy, so we decided to have some snacks in the evening. I ordered a Choley Bhature ($14.95) and an Aloo Tikki Chaat ($12.95) for my friend. The chaat arrived in about 10 minutes, although I had to wait a little longer for my food. One reason being that the restaurant opens at 5 p.m., and it was the day after new year, so they were preparing everything from scratch, which meant longer waiting time but delicious food. After about 20 minutes or so I received my food and it was very good. The bhatures were amazing, I just wished there was some more chholey to go with them, but with the curd, onions and pickles, I had a great culinary experience. Also, their menu is quite comprehensive, so there's a lot to choose from. My friend was similarly satisfied with his chaat, and he's a picky eater, so this compliment coming from him says something. 😀👨🏽‍🍳 The staff were amazing, especially Hari, who ensured that we were enjoying our meal. I'd also like to point that there was a small piece of plastic from a plastic container in the chaat, which we pointed out and weren't charged for it. Instances like this makes one appreciate the place even more. Overall, I had an excellent time in this restaurant and with so many diners arriving during the course of our meal, this place is definitely doing a great job!

This is a "must go to" restaurant when you are in Melbourne. The food really tickles your taste buds. You can choose your spice level and even ask for variations. Every dish we ordered came steaming hot and not to mention they were so flavoursome. I am yet to eat Naan with such soft texture. Chef Hari adds a personal touch with his warmth and hospitality. The staff are also very courteous and welcoming. The ambience is probably 'a home away from home'. The menu carries a wide range of dishes that are very reasonably priced. Spice Mix Restaurant is by far my favourite Indian cusine restaurant in Melbourne. If you are craving Indian food, I highly recommend this restaurant. You will not be disappointed should you pay a visit to it.

This is such a delicious place. We got the fish tikka, palak paneer and okra masala and all we absolutely yum. But the best was the garlic naan - incredible. The staff are friendly and give you recommendations - fab. We will be back!

Delightful meal. Take recommendations from Hari, he will not lead you astray. I've eaten here twice, and both times have been blown away by the quality of the food. BYO also. Try here if you haven't before, you will not be disappointed.

Wanted to give 6 stars if i could . Heavenly food and one of the best Indian food in Melbourne. We ordered Hariyali tikka , Malai kofta which was simply amazing. Even the naan is something to remember. Packed 2 more dishes for the next meal. Family owned and extremely courteous owners. Solid recommend.

The food here was initially great but went downhill all of a sudden, after getting popular the quality was compromised. The owner is a chatty dude that we loved but seen how he handles criticism online and personally me and friends started to stop going here altogether. Momos was good and tasty months ago but now they taste like overly done or been left outside for too long. Reply to owner: Owner seems hostile over a simple review. I was concerned about the food and I told you at the counter if you can remember. Reviews are a way of improving oneself rather than taking it personally. Isn’t the motto of a restaurant should be to have a feedback from customers whether it is bad or good? Simply the best curry I’ve had in Melbourne. This time we had vegetable Jalfrazei, chicken tandoori, goat Dhansak, and goat Rogan josh (beautifully tender on the bone) been several times and always good, and since they reopened just the same awesome quality.

Great food, very authentic flavours and a special shout out to the owner for the lovely conversation. The kulfi was particularly amazing

You cannot get better flavours or fresher ingredients than the Spice Mix restaurant. We had the rainbow trout fried and the Tawa octopus. Amazing. Hari is the happiest and most gracious host and it's always good to see him. We always trust in his suggestions of what food works together and his wife Mamata creates the magic in the kitchen as well. We have been regulars for years now.

This is the Indian restaurant you’re looking for. Best tandoor I’ve ever had in Aus. Mind blown. Sitting in here now. There’s a stream of customers coming in exclaiming how grateful they are that Spice Mix has re-opened after the fire!

We went on new years’ eve, took a nice bottle of wine and were treated to an absolutely great meal. No messing around, just really flavourful good quality Indian food which both my partner and I can’t stop thinking about! There’s a lot of places that do decent Indian food around our area but we have absolutely found our favourite. The service was great, and despite the table next to us being pretty rude to the manager of the restaurant (their medium hot curry was too hot for them) they carried themselves well and continued to be polite and give great service. Another point was how good the price was! We ate far, far too much and left without too big a dent in the pockets. Cannot state enough how good a job this group are doing! Keep it up!

The food here is spectacular. Truly some of the best Indian food I have ever eaten, ever. My partner & I love the service and highly appreciate how they cater to each individual's spice level & dietary needs. They also give the best recommendations if you're not sure what to pick. They clearly love and care about what they serve, having a chat with them about the spices they use in each dish is always enlightening. Highly recommend Spice Mix to anyone. We will be coming back here regularly. 🙂

Outstanding food. Everything we had was above standard Indian in Melbourne. The Nepalese goat and Goan fish curry were standouts. Amazing staff, made great recommendations and were attentive to allergies and spice levels.

I’ve worked across the street for 5 years and tried this place for the first time. Let me tell you, I’ll be back every week! The vegan options were great and my friends had meat/fish dishes that they said were the best they’ve had in a long time! We came on a busy Friday without a booking and they still made room for us. We waited about 15mins for the food to start coming out (which I thought was pretty quick) and the maître d even apologised for that. The Chef came also to see how we liked it which it nice too. Don’t let the outside of the building fool you, this is some of the best Indian in Melbourne!

Best food & best services and friendly staff. Really satisfied and can feel the words they say "own blended spices". Ordered out of menu and they made it happily. Takes 20-25 minutes time as they make everything fresh but it worth to wait. Homely taste. Most recommended

Awesome! We were looking for a restaurant that still serves food after 10pm and found Spice Mix. Really tasty food and friendly service. Amazed to find that it is run by Nepalis! So good. What a great find! Will definitely be back.

This place has the best Indian food. From A to Z, every dish they serve is amazing. The service is excellent. After renovating and reopening from the unfortunate fire accident, I am so glad that they are back on their feet. A huge shout out to Hari for his amazing persistent over all this time. The food before the accident was also as good. Very happy that he’s back on his feet now and I would definitely recommend this place for everyone to give a try.

A casual but elegant dining experience with attentive staff. Food was full of flavour and quality ingredients. We recommend chicken 65 as a dry entree with beer and masala dosa for food you can eat with your hands 🙌🏽

Always the best fresh Indian food @ Spice Mix. The whole team is amazingly friendly. Thank you all for the service and scrumptious foods as always. Lamb korma is always spot on. Tried the Nepalese lamb and it was very delicious. Garlic naan always fresh.Barramundi (with bones) was really yummy. Definitely looking forward to Spice Mix again and highly recommend.

I had crab masala and chicken tikka masala which was amazing but a bit spicy as I had chosen medium. Tried the goat dhansak with mild and it was yummy and just perfect so I guess mild is for me. Will try other stuff soon.

Perfect Delicious Authentic Indian (Desi) food in Melbourne. Must Try Once, thereafter you'll be repeat customer yourself. Cooks Fresh Meals with Self blended spices. Reasonable rates in addition to wonderful Customer Service wherein you can meet & chat with the Owner Chef. For our meal the best was Tandoori from the Platter but the final winning shot was Seekh Kebab which was given for tasting by the humble Chef.

What made them give us 8 pieces of Momo rather than 10🤷🏻‍♀️ Doesn’t taste extra. Taste is Okay but needs to improve services 🙂

Best Indian Food i had till now. Super Friendly Customer Service and most amazing thing is they make you feel like own. Ordered a mix of vegan and non-vegan options and all were really delicious! Aside from the curries being a little bit too oily and tandoori prawns a bit too salty for our taste, the flavours were amazing, serving sizes generous and service (delivery) was great. Will definitely order again and recommend.

Wow! So fresh and flavoursome! I was keen to try a new good Indian place and decided to try Spice Mix and I'm really glad I did. The food was fresh and full of flavour, good meal sizes and atmosphere was great. Owner is very friendly and chatty and seems open to feedback. Definitely will be coming back.

We had very good experience in our first visit. I was very excited and went for 2nd visit for dine in. Lady come and took our order We asked her not to bring food all together. We have been waiting for 25 min to get food and all food come together We lost all our appetite by seeing all foods and couldn’t enjoy the food. Even we ask to hold on the waitress said she can’t do . We were very upset. We had tandoori chicken and taste like off too… I was very disappointed biryani was okay. Never going back.. Good luck

This place is awesome! Been coming here for a while now and it never disappoints. Very affordable meal, great staff and delicious food. Also it's open till real late! So if you're ever looking for a late night meal this place stays open. Went here last night and had the momos for the first time and highly recommend!

I've been coming to spice mix for a while now, the food here is consistently delicious, the service is always delightful, and it’s SUCH good value. Love that they work so hard to cater to all dietary requirements under the sun. It’s a weekly staple in my diet - cannot recommend this place enough!

It's a beautiful thing when you see a fantastic business re-open again. Spice Mix has been my go-to for authentic Indian curries for the last few years ever since I moved to Melbourne. The service is extremely friendly & efficient - always with a smile. My personal recommendation is their delicious & flavourful jackfruit curry for vegans & meat-eaters alike (the taste will win you over!). You will not be disappointed & will return time after time. Opens until late! :)

This is one of the best indian restaurants on my list. Amazing staff, freshly cooked food and quick service is all you need. They have dinner deals as well which i felt was reasonable for the price. You can also ask the chef to make something new which is out of the menu depending on what they have in-store. P.S. : ITS OPEN TILL LATE..!!!

Best curries I’ve honestly ever had. So glad that Spice Mix re-opened after the long period of closure. When they were closed I fell into a depression and started eating ready-meal curries from Coles. Now that my tastebuds have been reawakened by these delicious Spice Mix curries, I feel a zest for life and am happy again. Thank you for coming back 🙏

This restaurant is phenomenal. When I first ate here, it was like I was eating Indian food for the first time; nothing I’ve had anywhere else compares. The spices are so fresh and aromatic, every single dish has a real unique flavour and is always served hot, fresh and delicious. The tandoor options are probably my favourite, but the curries are also exceptional. The owner Soni is a real gem who really cares about giving great service and wants everyone who visits to have an exceptional experience. Don’t eat South Asian anywhere else until you come here. It’s just that good.

This was an awesome experience for the whole family. The food was AMAZING and the atmosphere was jolly yet peaceful. The staff were very friendly and gave us time to decide yet never took too long. We would ABSOLUTELY go again if we got the chance. It is located in a peaceful part of Brunswick which is pretty much close to everything. There are clean restrooms that are not grotty. The owner is a REALLY nice person with a sense of humour. You are allowed to choose the level of spice and NONE of the food is bland. We read some other reviews before visiting and, as a lot of customers had recommended the butter chicken, that was one of the dishes we ordered. It was DEFINITELY the best (savoury 😜) dish I’ve ever had. Awesome restaurant, absolutely u should go.
