We've been coming to Amber since they were in the older location, the food has remained consistently high - justifying the $27 price for the lunch buffet. The paani poori, dahi vada, paneer masala, kaadi, and tandoori chicken were all great today. The sooji halwa and bhel were both meh. The naan was late (even after we asked for it), soft and disappointing. Service was slow today, all restaurants are having staffing issues hence it is understandable. We recommend going to Amber over all other restaurants in Mt. View.

HAIR ALERT!! Everything was perfect except the food. We went for lunch buffet. We had two encounter of hair in the food. First was in their bhel puri and the second one was in the gravy. For the first one the server took away the plate after showing him the hair in bhel puri. When the second time this happened the manager came and mentioned that all the cook wear a hair cap and it was mostly some customer’s hair that ended up in main pot from where I took the gravy. Beauty is all the dishes of Amber are shielded with a glass screen and the chances of hair falling from a customer’s head is next to impossible.

Nice interior. Location is a bit weird (difficult to find) but plenty of parking. My girlfriend and I had dinner without dessert or alcohol and spend $100 including tip which I consider expensive. Weird was that I ordered Roti (Naan-like bread made of whole grain wheat flour) that looked exactly the same as normal Naan which is made of white wheat flour.

Lovely evening to enjoy this great Northern Indian food. The butter chicken is a must and is very authentic Indian food. Ordered okra that’s my favourite and the variety of naan. The papodan was great and the samosa great to kick off as appetizer! Food is here alt great and outdoor sitting was nice under the cool night with heater !

This is a very good place to enjoy high quality food. The location offers sufficient parking all around. The restaurant is very well decorated with a lot of tables inside and outside. The service is professional and friendly. The food is excellent and stylishly presented. Warmly recommended for both lunch or dinner. Also a very nice place to host parties!

Was skeptical to dine here last night after our takeouts during the pandemic were mediocre. Glad we supported this local restaurant. Food was amazingly delicious, flawlessly cooked, we ordered Paneer tikka , Manchurian and 3 vegetarian curries, what a burst of flavors , each dish was unique. Gobi Manchurian was not too greasy and yummy . The service was fantastic . Recommend this restaurant. Loved the ambience too.

Went for the lunch buffet and left with a food coma :P Great food, ambience, and service. The chaat corner was build your own, which was nice since i could make the Pani puri, bhel, or papdi chaat to my liking. The dahi vada and samosas were pretty good as well. For the mains, the kadhai paneer (spicy) and kadi pakora were fantastic with the crispy thin garlic naan. The saffron rice and daal tadka were rich in flavor. And to finish it off for dessert, the sweets, besan burfi and gaajar halwa, were made just right. Definitely worth going back

We are regulars at Amber India and we are never disappointed. The mixed grill, butter chicken, spinach paneer, naans, … were absolutely delicious. Needless to say, I highly recommend Amber India for any occasion.

Went for Sun lunch buffet. The food was good just like before but they now have complimentary beverage (mimosa or lassi). The price has jumped to 33$ per person before tax which feels steep for a lunch buffet. A family of 4 will spend close to 150$ for lunch which is unfathomable. Overall would recommend if you are OK with the price.

The food at Amber India is okay, but nothing great. I've had better Indian food at other restaurants in the area. However, the service was good and the atmosphere was decent. I'd recommend Amber India if you're looking for a casual Indian meal, but don't expect to be blown away by the food. Here are some specific things I liked and disliked about Amber India: Liked: Service was friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed. Disliked: Food was just okay. Some dishes were bland, while others were randomly spicy. Frozen fried food was still cold at the core. Paneer was hard. Overall, Amber India is a decent Indian restaurant, but I would only recommend it if you're not too picky about your food.

This is for Amber india Milpitas location All the food items prepared by Head chef Shiv were on point and mouth watering, good portion size, decent ambiance( can use work, if they want this location to thrive for dine-in), and absolutely a great value value for the buck! For reference I Have had palak chat at Ettan, and I liked Amber's palak chat way better than Ettan ( portion size, flavors and the $$ ). The tandoori chicken was sizzling and delish! I went there for butter chicken and it came out to be as I wished for. The server Venkatesh was very pleasant and took great care of our party. Definitely coming back for the yummy food. Thank you!

Taking family for weekend brunch. Restaurant auto charge 20% tips for buffet brunch with party of 4. Wish it is clear stated as staff have no idea about this tip policy when we were inquiring about added charge. Crowded space and stuff indoor seating. Not enjoyable weekend brunch ambience due to crowded seating and noice level indoor. Food election is decent but definitely seen more variety choice else where.

Starters were amazing. We got the veg platter and non veg platter. But, the mushroom Biryani was stale. Mutton biryani wasn’t fresh. We I reported this issue, they refunded the amount for Mushroom biryani. Hospitality & ambiance were really good.

Good food and ambience. We should have asked it all to be spicy as the default felt a little bland. The jaljeera was very tasty. Jamoon was good. One veg thaali is filling for 2 people!

We went there for a business dinner with about 20 people. They had the private lower level available! It's beautifully decorated, great bar and fantastic bar tender and staff. The apps and dinner were amazing. Some of the best Indian food I've had.

Authentic flavors, quality food, not too oily or spicy. Shrimp malwani is one of their best dishes. Paneer elaichi pasanda and mushroom edamame lotus seed are somewhat unique dishes and tasted great. Butter Chicken was good. And Chatpata Bhindi was not that great. The ambience is also great for a dine in experience. In the covid lockdown they've added outdoor dining space and distanced tables on the inside. Service was very slow when we visited. We had to call the staff multiple times to get the menus, order food, replenish water, get cutlery etc.

First buffer after 2 years. It was a bit expensive, $30 with tip, but food was amazing. Started with chat, the golgappas were very good. Main dishes saag, butter chicken was good. Didn't.like goat curry. The Punjabi kadhi was probably the best dish with rice. Sweets were on point

Good authentic Indian food. Cannot ask for more except the price is very high. Service is good.

Naan was neither crispy or airy nor flavor. It’s like eating dough. 5 star for ambiance The buffet was not very well displayed. Everything seemed bottom of the pan. However still I like the food.

Food quality, taste were very good as expected. However, it seems the portions have gotten smaller since the last time we visited Amber. With four adults, we ordered the seafood mixed grill, the lamb and chicken mixed grill, butter chicken, eggplant dish, vegetarian mixed platter. Again, everything tasted perfect, but the portions were so tiny. For instance, how do 4 adults share 1 scallop, or two prawns, etc. probably my last visit here.

Tandoori Platter is a good option to try. Mango lassi is really good. Personal felt the place is over hyped and the food portion served is less compared to the price. Ambience is really good

Amber never disappoints me when it comes to good food. This was the first time I tried Las Altos location otherwise most of the time I go to Amber on Santana row. I went to this place on my birthday and had a really good experience. We ordered Mini kachori's and hara bhara kabab for starters and Malai Kofta, Pindi choley, Breadbasket for the main meal. Everything was delicious. I was happy to see mini kachoris in the menu because you don't find it in restaurants often. The place was not that busy, so we got the table straight away without any wait. Food was also served quickly. We ended up our meal with nice Ras malai. I do recommend this place for good Indian Food in Bay area. They have nice courtyard set up where we sat by the fire place. It felt really cozy and romantic.

Was there recently for a milestone birthday party and the food was surprisingly mediocre. What a bummer as I have had great food at other Amber restaurants. The venue downstairs was fabulous, however. The bar service was rather dubious. Our host said the bar was open but the barman would only serve a few types of drinks… suggest you carefully negotiate what you sign up for.

The food was good standard Indian food. The staff was friendly. We sat outside on a chilly evening where they put on a heat lamp for us. Wasn't my favorite but the others in my group liked it.

We recently hosted an event at Amber India and our experience was excellent. The venue itself was spacious and well-suited for a gathering of ~100 guests. The staff was friendly & attentive. We worked with Mr. Ravi Kumar (manager). His welcoming attitude and willingness to accommodate our requests made organizing extremely easy for us. As we planned the event, Ravi helped setup a tasting menu which made shortlisting the menu a breeze for us. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the food (selection and taste). Thank you for providing us with such a positive experience. We'll certainly consider your venue for future events and recommend it to others seeking a welcoming and accommodating space.

The food other than chutneys was pretty average.. You can get better tasting food at nearly any other Indian restaurant in the bay area for half the price. Very very expensive compared to quality. Naans tasted like uncooked maida. Service was quick and ambience was good.
