Ambrosia in Aptos has maintained the quality of the food & taste. Post covid dine-in observations...papad and chutneys used to be on the house now they are charging hefty, all menu items hiked up. Mushroom masala was very well prepared, Malai Kofta needed to spice up a bit instead of tasting almost like a desert, Baigan bharta was pretty bad. Onion Kulcha and Garlic Naans were great so was the Paneer chili appetizer even though it tasted like a fusion dish. Overall, they can cut down tomato based gavy in most of the dishes. Staff is too direct telling customers to leave as it passed closing time ....Overall still a great place in this neighborhood! Will continue to be their regular customer as long as they maintain. Recent visit was very memorable! Great to see customer friendly staff and delicious food. Bread basket (stuffed aloo parata, Garlic and regular naans) and Paneer Makhani deserve 5 star rating. Saag Paneer was bit bland, could do with more flavor & taste. Tried their Samosa chaat apetizer. Very different from any other place yet creative. Wanted to specially acknowledge the staff for his quick action and humor in handing over forgotten mobile device from the table.

Good Indian food… (for USA!) Firstly we have lived in the UK (which had exceptional Indian food IMO) so like to think we know good Indian food 😝. Maybe others will disagree… Generally we have found Indian restaurants in the USA have been pretty low quality (sorry) but this was better than average was totally fine, just not amazing… The bhindi okra dish was the standout winner, onion bahjis and dahl and rogan josh were all good too. Not particularly cheap, but that’s California I guess!

Worst place for vegetarian people. Paneer tikka was sweet, raw paneer and it tasted like eating raw paneer with ketchup. We also ordered malai kofta, kofta pieces were so huge, and uncooked. It felt like an uncooked dough dipped in again tomato gravy. We also ordered cheese naan and garlic naan. Cheese naan was completely uncooked. The only thing good here was garlic naan that also average. Please guys go to this place only if you plan to not drink water. You cannot even use restroom or use it keeping the door open everyone see you using it.

My girlfriend and I ordered Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan, and Shrimp Vindaloo through Uber Eats. The food was average. Shortly after finishing our meal, my girlfriend started feeling nauseous, and threw up. We concluded that the Shrimp Vindaloo was the root cause. It's disappointing given that the food was average, and doubly disappointing given the bill was $80.

The food is good, liked the vibe. Loved the Amritsari Paneer sizzler, authentic Indian breads, Gravy-not so much.

I had spicy fish takki here with coconut rice. The food was so good. Ohm was also an amazing person who made sure me and my friends liked our food and was doing ok. Highly recommended place to eat.

We found Ambrosia Indian Bistro accidentally on our way from SFO to Santa Barbara. Craving for Indian food and trusting the reviews we decided to try it out. The place didn’t disappoint at all. We ordered Peshawari chicken sizzler, kadhai chicken curry, garlic naan and saffron rice. Naan and rice could have been better while sizzler and kadhai chicken were delicious. Do take a pit stop and try the place when you happen to be in the area.

restaurant was almost empty. there were two food servers. we saw them three times. the entire evening. service was absolutely terrible. food was very good. it took an extremely long time to get the food even though they were only two other groups in the room I actually had to get up and ask the food server if we could eat now.

Been here before and it was fine, this time the food was extremely dry and bland , like it had been sitting out for hours prior. Couldn’t even eat it. Also very expensive especially for the quality. Can get Indian food in San Jose that’s 100x better for almost half the price.

It’s not the first time we have been to this restaurant. Our recent visit was much humiliated. One of my friend entered the restaurant from the back door from parking lot, which we have done before. There were no sign on the door(restricted/employee only). The front desk Guy named Om lost his temper. I feel being racially discriminated The owner must trained front desk person before hiring.

It's my favorite place for Indian cuisine. I've been coming to Ambrosia for many years and it's always a must have every time I visit California.

I went here yesterday evening and I ordered the spicy beef Biryani with Mango Lassi. The food was very delicious and I would go back to eat anytime I am in Santa Cruz. Ohm was also very welcoming and gave us very good service. Highly recommend.

Very generous portions and tasty food. There is a small outdoor sitting area. It is a small restaurant, tables are small and sitting are is tight. The staff is friendly and prompt. The food is delicious. We tried couple of dishes and they were all good.

The best Indian food to be had in the Santa Cruz area. Delicious take-out! My choice for our anniversary dinner at home during the pandemic surge this year.

If you crave Indian food, and you in santa cruz, it's probably your best bet. I always say that ots hard to get Indian food wrong, and this place is definitely not an exception to this rule. If you want great Indian food though, you probably have to travel over the hill.

good food, good service. the place itself is a little run down, but it's currently under renovation, so maybe it'll change soon. a bit overpriced, but there's nowhere else nearby with quality indian food.

I had one of the best meals I've had for Indian restaurants in California. It's nothing short of heavenly :) great food, great service.. overall fantastic experience. Will definitely hope to come again.

By far one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever been to, and I have been to a lot. I'm in love with the Lamb Biriyani and the Butter Chicken. We are happy to have this so close! I have not eaten at the restaurant -- we always to take away.

Went here for dinner on a Sunday evening. It was just about starting to fill up. We ordered a lot of food here - Dal Makhni, Mushroom Masala, Butter Chicken, Trio Chicken, Amritsari Paneer Tikka with their Tandoori Rotis, Garlic Naan. The sizzlers - Trio Chicken, Amritsari Paneer Tikka were decent. Dal Makhni was great. There were a handful mushrooms in Mushroom Masala and the Butter Chicken was sweet. Nothing exceptional.
