This shelter is amazing! We have adopted from here and love our fur babies so much! I have never seen a shelter so clean and the volunteers are super helpful and knowledgeable and they genuinely care about the animals . I have also never been to a shelter where you can take the kittens/cats out and actually hold them and get to know them.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Friendship APL! After experiencing the heartbreaking loss of my beloved Bella, I knew my boy Bruno needed a companion. In December of ā€™22, I adopted the sweetest soul, Baylee, from this amazing shelter. The staff went above and beyond to make the adoption process smooth and heartwarming. Despite being busy with a puppy adoption day, the young lady who assisted me was incredibly patient, and even the head manager took the time to help me. They understood the importance of finding the right match and allowed me to spend time with the one-year-old adult dog named Daisy (Bayleeā€™s name at the shelter). The connection was instant, and I knew she was the one. It took me over two hours at the meet and greet for me to overcome doubt (at the time it was still way too early for me after my Sweet Bellaā€™s passing) and to fill out the papers. I am so glad I decided to bring this baby home. Baylee has brought so much joy and love into our lives. Iā€™m grateful to Friendship APL for helping me find the perfect addition to our family. If youā€™re looking to adopt a furry friend, I wholeheartedly recommend this shelter. They truly care about their animals and go the extra mile to make sure both the pet and the adopter are happy. Thank you, Friendship APL!

We found a dog we were interested in, so we visited FAPL. We were able to walk the dog and spend time with her. We were told ā€œshe is healthyā€ and that she is a good dog. We decided to adopt her and once we got her home she started coughing -yep kennel cough, so I started looking at her paperwork and discovered that she was on a medical hold for treatment, so they knowingly adopted out a sick dog. I got in touch with them and two different people gave me two different stories. Made the decision to return her since their adoption contract states, ā€œif pet becomes seriously ill within the first five days of adoption you may return the pet for a refund of your adoption fee or exchange for another pet.ā€ The employee at the front desk said they could only give me credit toward a future adoption. I had to remind them of their 5 day policy. She still had to check with the officer manager. I was refunded my adoption fee. Why would I want to adopt from them again when they werenā€™t up front and honest with me. The very day we return the sick dog they had her listed again as available for adoption on their website and on Pet Finder. So sad that they knowingly adopt out sick animals. If you decide to adopt a pet from them, make sure to look over the petā€™s file before you make your final decision to adopt.

Dogs, puppies, cats, kittens, and small animals. If you are looking for a furry friend, look here! They have quite a selection as they are one of the biggest shelters in the area. If you donā€™t find what you want here, look up other shelters - there are so many perfectly great pets available that NEED homes! I adopted from the friendship APL and am blessed with a wonderful family member (coonhound mix). I wouldnā€™t have it any other way!

Friendship Apl goes above and beyond for every animal they have. When I was there adopting my fur baby Millie, a gentlemen from the Board of Directors was there loving on all the animals. Love lives at Friendship APL. 1. Millie recently in her raincoat. 2. Millie is enjoying some peanut butter 3. She always wags her tail 4. Millie stands over you when she wants her back rubbed. She will also stand on the center console to put her seat belt on! 5. Millie loves to cuddle 6. Here is her searbelt she never baemrks in the car! She is top dog, she gets the front seat! 7. Walking in the park, time for a selfie! 8. T-Mobile time to tell the customer service rep what we want. 9. Snuggle time. 10. The day we adopted Millie 11. Millie loves her clothes.

Better off going to a different shelter. I was loyal to this shelter for a LONG while. My 13year cat who had just passed away and my current kitten are from here. After my 13 year old passed away, I came back to get another cat for my kitten to play with. The new kitten I got was super sweet and loving, but came with a bunch of problems. Normally you go to a shelter for a *HEALTHY* cat/kitten, but I suspect they didnā€™t pay too close attention to him or didnā€™t care. I contacted the APL a few times to try to get this sorted, even if I need to re-surrender him (even tho I wish I didnā€™t have to). The few people Iā€™ve gotten ahold of either say to re-surrender him or saying itā€™s a behavioral issue (itā€™s not). Iā€™m already looking at hundreds of dollars at his vet bills even tho Iā€™ve had him less than a month at this point, stuff that was suppose to be taken care of and watched when under the shelters care. The guy who runs the place always seemed awesome and friendly, so I donā€™t really blame him. At this rate I know the amount of $$ Iā€™m spending at the vet would have been about the same if I had gotten a cat from someone/ the street and fix them/taken them to the vet for all the shots and stuff myself.
