It was not just poor—ITWAS HORRIBLE! The back of the Inn was mainly for longer term rentals—where some of the inside furniture was outside for the comfort of the tenants. Apparently one of those rooms was vacant, and rented to me, my friend, and an 11lb., well behaved dog. The bed wasn’t a queen as promised, the coverlet had stains, burn holes, and dirt on it/ the chips in the sink were covered with glued down pieces of foam?/ the bathroom window had a fist sized hole( that let plenty of bugs in)/ bath door couldn’t be closed because patched in tile and wallboard was in the way/all pieces of scant furniture would never be accepted as donations by GOODWILL /the room had not one ounce of charm—nothing pleasant about our 1-night stay not even the roar of motorcycles early in the morning(I guess they have to warm up for a LONG TIME in the morning🤷‍♀️By the way the complementary Breakfast consisted of some coffee, bread, two cold cereals—THAT’S ALL FOLKS. Oh, I almost forgot—charged us $130.62us☹️

My father and I made a trip around Ontario stopping at many places. This was our first stop at the start and our last stop on the way home. The staff was very kind and courteous. It was nice that they remembered us on our trip back. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. We had a very pleasant stay both times. Thank-you Best Value Inn Parry Sound

I am aware this place had a bad review. We have stayed in other motels with bad reviews but turned out amazing gave it a shot, regretting the choice. Bedding stained and dirty also had burn holes and with something sticky we went and bought our own bedding and pillows. mattress was so miss shaped we had to sleep at the foot of the bed to sleep level. Towels were stained and had holes I pack my own and don’t use hotel towels. We were ground floor and when walking through to the bathroom the floor was soft and my foot broke the flooring, i am not a large person for that to happen. Room lighting not the best and half the plugs in the room don’t work. Light switches are missing on the wall leaving bare holes with wires visible. Police ended up coming to the motel due to a fight with other people staying over Drug and other issues. Hotel staff never came out to assist with the situation. Being 3 am I feel they should have come to settle other guests dealing with it. Friends staying there as well down from us had boards over their room windows and cracked windows too. Not a safe situation. Pool was not working so sad to stay where a pool was and not get to use it. Won’t stay here again. So much potential for this place but needs lots of work to make it safe and enjoyable and clean. Starting with new mattress and clean bedding and towels would be a great start! Wont recommend and won’t stay here again.

I'll start this review right from booking. I booked this place talking with Peter and he had exceptional Customer service! When I told him we were coming with 2 children he made sure to book us in a ground floor room. About a week or so later I called again, noticing the bad reviews in regards to cleanliness. I had gotten the manager and very kindly just questioned it. Immediately he snapped and said "I don't know what you want me to say! It's a very difficult situation.' So I again asked if our room will be clean and he said yes. Upon arrival, he was friendly, and got us in our room. $176 total for 2 queen bed room. The room was ok. Better than I expected from reading the reviews. Pool was opened, we had fun there. We did notice there were crumbs under our sheets and not from us. This place has great potential but it needs work. The breakfast isn't much, a bag of Bagels, bread, and some peanut butter and Jam and cereal. When there, there was a man reaming the owner out and really degrading him. To anyone looking at these reviews, if you're going to book anyways (because it is the cheapest in parry sound) despite reading the reviews, don't take it out on the owner, you made that decision knowing what to expect. The place needs work it does, but that's upon the owners to do something about it. Perhaps renovating just one room at a time even.

The staff were friendly enough upon arrival. Downhill from there. We booked a dog-friendly room but none available. The explanation was that we must have done it through Expedia and it didn't show up. (That doesn't explain why the front desk guy asked about our dog.) They eventually found a room. After two tries to program the key, we got in. Wow. Plaster debris on the desk and table. Dirty floor. Not even close to what you'd expect for $150. We complained, asking for a different room, but nothing available. The explanation was that this room wasn't actually in service because they were doing reno work the floor above. You'd think they'd offer to clean up the mess. Nope. We cleaned it up ourselves and got through it. We realize that they're new owners and probably got it for cheap and are trying to fix it up. But the cost is out of line and the lack of sympathy for the mess is unacceptable.

This place offers comfort and service at a very discounted rate. The staff is the best part. Peter you made our trip. You took great care to make sure we got what we needed. To the owners of the establishment, get more workers like him. If you are looking for the Hilton look elsewhere. This place offers great convenience and facility at a low price. Well-done.

Recently stayed here and was very pleased. If staying in Parry Sound, this is definitely the place to stay. Room's are very clean, beds are comfy and shower pressure is great. This location also had a added convenience of the door code, which is second to none. This feature makes booking while traveling extremely easy. I was able to book my room while still on the road and was given a code to gain entry to my room upon arrival. Such a amazing feature they have implemented for their clients convenience.

This place was terrible. Do Not Stay here, as I read more reviews it has not changed in 6 years. I stayed here in 2016 for a whole summer and back then the story was still the same "new owners", but they are outright scamming people with dated photos from when Best Western took care of it. Rooms were supposed to be getting removated, I watched as Peter dragged the carpet outside, trucks ran jt over all day and night and they dragged jt back in. The sewer became overfull one warm summer morning because they didnt want to get it pumped out. And sewage filled the basement and everyone woke up to the smell that lasted weeks....employees got bedbugs in their room and were denied about them existing. Peter could be a great car salesmen because he is a good liar. Nothing has ever been cleans and take the pillows into the sunlight Nd they are no longer white they are smoke stained yellow. Bring a snowsuit to sleep in and leave luggage in the truck

Easily worst hotel I have ever seen. Ants kept coming out of the walls and the sink, I must have killed at least 50. Sheets were stained and smelly. Room was completely dusty and hairs everywhere. And the lock didn't work either, the door was not aligned and needs repairs. Not a single good thing to say about this place, if you are staying in Parry Sound I highly recommend spending the extra money to stay somewhere you could actually sleep. I was not offered any refund either, unacceptable.

Just needed a place to sleep peacefully after a 6 hour drive. Kunal was very friendly. Checked in at 10:30 p.m. He is easy to reach through the phone. Typically respond in 2 minutes. Bed was clean and comfortable. Area looked safe. Toilet seat & bathrub tiles around looked uncleaned. Even towels was not cleaned properly. Sink & microwave looked a little broken. But the rates were very reasonable and good for one night stay or someone who is not very picky like me about cleanliness. Breakfast includes bread that you can toast, they have toaster and jelly, hot water for tea, hot coffee and also a nice lady who serves you with a smile. The soap in the washroom was really good. They have cctv and Kunal also keeps an eye over the night so I felt safe to leave my car parked.

My stay was as good as my experience. The hospitality here is great. It has been snowing for days now and the driveway needs plowing. This would be a great place for snowmobilers who are travelling from affar. So bring those friendly faces and lets make this place winter ready!

Want to play a game of room roulette? Some of the rooms in this motel have been updated, and some have not. Ours was not. The beds are fine, considering the cost, but the rest of the rooms are in dire need of renovation. The breakfast was included, but it was very simple (coffee, cereal, toast). Some of the rooms have a back door which opens directly into the pool area, which is neat for kids. It’s an interesting layout, but the whole motel needs hundreds of thousands of dollars for renovations. The pool was too cold, the one exercise bike was not working, the ice machine was out of order, and our hotel room door was almost non functional. As far as location is concerned the hotel is next to a mall, but otherwise it’s a 20-25 minute walk to anything interesting. All that being said, if you are from a lower income household, or looking to save some money this hotel has competitive pricing compared to some others in Parry Sound.

It's a 4 star because the owners are great. The hotel needs a lot of work. I would say it's an easy 3 star, maybe 2, but the hosts are incredible. We were there for a hockey tournament and had a blast.

Outdated, stains on the carpet. But it was okay. Beds could be more comfortable. The bathroom was tight. I had to close the door to get in the shower. No space to move. Overall it was decent for the price. One thing is that it is nearby a train. Kept hearing noises and kept waking us up at night.

My wife and I spent the night here on June 10, 2023. While the motel is fairly old we found our room was fairly nice and roomy. The bed was very comfortable with good size pillows. There was an issue with the outside door to our room which was mentioned when we checked in about the trick to opening it. The room had a coffee maker, fridge and microwave (all worked perfectly). We had lots of electrical outlets to use my laptop and charge our electrical devices. We did enjoy our stay and would stay here again if in the area.

Overall was good. Room service was good very sweet ladies. Pool was nice however the hot tub was broken so that was a big bummer. I must say the beds were very firm and after a few days gets pretty sore. But don't worry if you forget your cards in the room, they got you haha. Would stay again if they got better beds and fixed the hottub😄 Very polite people and a friendly stay

A very helpful guy at reception found us a room that was suitable for our fur babies..... The first room wasn't suitable. Rooms could do with a bit of an upgrade, but it was sufficient for our needs. The pool was nice. The hotel is located close to a mall and a nice restaurant.

I'm in room 14 and i had to check if I was in the same inn as other reviewers because there's no way people feel this way about these rooms the bed is so uncomfortably hard that I wake up multiple times a night to roll over because the side I'm sleeping on physically hurts the mattress feels like an old solid spring mattress the sheets are paper thin and rough certainly not comfy List of thing more comfy than these beds a sleeping bag on a cot Air mattress Trampoline that being said the bath tub is kinda nice probably more comfortable than the bed

We had booked through Expedia, we checked in and went to our room. The hotel was run down and in bad shape. The stairs going up to our room were very filthy. We get to our room the towels were dirty we requested new towels. Bathroom floor was dirty with hair on the floor. Pillow sheet had hair on them we requested new pillow cases . But what topped it up is the discussting stain on the sheets. At the point we just wanted to cancel and leave . We were told the cancellation had to be done through Expedia to get our money back. He said you can cancel but you lose all your money unless Expedia approved it. So I contacted Expedia they said the hotel policy is no cancellation but they will talk to them to make an exception. But guess what it turned out to be that the manager there was lying and has nothing to do with Expedia. But when we confronted him he changed his story by saying their cancellation policy is 7 days. He said nothing can be done we can cancel and leave but we won’t get any refund. He said he fixed the problem by changing our sheets and getting us new towels and moving us to a different room. Overall very bad experience don’t recommend it to anyone. Also we didn’t have our breakfast they had some bread and bagels and a big jar of peanut butter that everyone is digging in it. Very unsanitary 😠

The room is clean, service is great. Very friendly family owned business. We came late at the night, were received with nice tasty and healthy food. We recommend you should visit this hotel if you need to stop at Parry Sound. 👍

The accommodations reflect the price. However, the hospitality is top notch. Management went above and beyond to make our stay super comfortable. The staff helped us out with some very particular requests we had. Would recommend to anyone look for an affordable place to stay with great staff.

Took three phone calls to get an actual confirmation of reservations. Upon arrival no one was at the front desk. Another employee noticed us and said they would be with us soon. Took some time but we got checked in and requested a ground floor to help make our unload and reload easy. Room was so dirty. The first things i noticed was a blood stain on the comforter that was then thrown on the ground and a receptical had been ripped off the wall and was laying on the ground. Bathroom had a clean toilet seat and sink. The hotel was pet friendly and there was so much pet hair on the floor. Laminate was worn and water damaged. It was only for a short stay back on the road early so I sucked it up. The pool was warm. When going to bed I was worried about bed bugs so I pulled sheets and lifted layers or protectors and mattresses. I didn't see anything so I went to bed on guard and thought I felt something on my foot but could not see anything. In the morning low and behold my daughter wakes first and finds bed buggy buddy. Had blood inside so had bit one of us that night. Killed it. Brought to front desk where of course no one was there. Once we accessed someone they said no one else had complained and they rent that room every night. Gave us a 30$ refund to cover laundry....it only coved laundry. I still payed 180$ for that horrible experience and was put back 2 hours on my ongoing trip. Even if your desperate for a bed sleep elsewhere!

The gentle man that was working was very busy but friendly. The hotel is dated and falling apart in the back motel area, with wires hanging everywhere outside the rooms. The inside rooms were awful, the floor would pop up and down as you walked on it, anyone drinking will trip over it. The bathroom was tiled but no caulking between them, it felt like they would fall off the wall while showering. The place needs a lot of work. I would have given it a zero but the man at desk was nice.

Reserved for myself and a dog. Hot put in the back "skid row" area. Lights not working or not plugged in. Comforter full of cigarette burns. Cold room when I checked in. Poorly maintained rooms. If it had been cold or snowing, the room would have been freezing. 150.00 is a lot of money for what you get.

For $170 total for one night it's way over priced! To start the beds have bed bugs! We call and tell the front desk and he says no they don't. We have one caught in a cup on the bed and he still refuses to even come look. Tub had holes that turn into fountains when it drains... Holes in wall. Tv doesn't work, newer AC that worked in one room....when we asked for a refund so we can just leave (it was 1am) and we were there for all of an hour, they refused! We got put into a double Queen room and it's the same! AC didnt work, doors did lock, holes in wall, etc. My advice is to stay away!

My stay here was quite pleasant. Management was very helpful and displayed a great sense of hospitality. We were provided extra pillows and blankets, and our rooms were nicely arranged each day. Highly recommended staying here if you visit Parry Sound.

I’ve never seen a hotel this disgusting. My room had not been cleaned between guests, as belongings such as personal towels and items in the mini fridge remained from the previous occupant, along with crumbs and dirty plastic cutlery on the desk. Everywhere you looked there was another problem- black shoe prints on the bath mat, globs of dried soaps on the walls of the shower and shower curtain, months of mineral buildup running down the tile. Stains that make you retch (possibly originated in the human body but I did not wish to confirm). There was a solid 1 inch gap under the doors making any noise in the hallways crystal clear. The hallways reeked of dead fish. Garbage placed outside of doors to be picked up were still outside the doors 5 days later despite seeing the manager pass several times. My room was not uniquely bad- I was staying here with coworkers and each had different but similar issues with the cleanliness of their rooms, ranging from crumbs and mud to bodily fluids. I cannot believe the price being asked for these rooms- this hotel is under active renovation and is not ready for guests yet.

Hard time checking in, nobody on front desk. Guy sitting in lobby went and found someone who phoned someone else. I had trouble understanding person on phone. He asked me what size room I booked and how much I was paying when booked on line. They finally told person on desk to give a key after processing my credit card. The key the gave me work got a second key. Room looks like it might have been updated 20 years ago. Smells musty and old. Would not recommend any one staying here. Should have known when only 2 cars I parking lot. Unfortunately I booked on line, won’t do that again

Stayed a night on Family Day weekend with a friend and it was a beautiful big room. We were in an area of the Motel were there was no one else, so the privacy that we had was excellent. Never once felt like we were being watched and the owner was really helpful with us every step of the way. The room had a really huge king sized bed (comfortable) and microwave, coffee maker, fridge, TV (with GREAT channel selection), FREE Wifi and a heater, that can also be switched to be an air conditioner for the summer. The furniture in the room we had was a huge table and dresser on the other side of this big room and the table was very large and suitable for when you want to eat (with two or even three people) or just leave your stuff out on the dresser/ table (TONS of space to lay your stuff on). The room was also so big so there was plenty of room to walk around without bumping into each other, or trying to squeeze by someone to try to get from point A to B. Motel is almost in the middle of an landfill area of Parry Sound (gives you the feeling you are far out from everyone else which was awesome) but still close to shopping (No Frills) and other stores, restaurants near by. For $135 for one night (the type of room we got in the back) was worth every penny, and I will be going back again someday for a extended stay. Excellent motel here!!!

Brought a group of employees out to Parry Sound for a week and the hotel workers were very accommodating right from the start. Peter was amazing! Extremely kind and he went above and beyond to help us out with whatever it was we needed! Rooms were clean and they serviced them everyday. Would definitely recommend staying here if in Parry Sound.
