The place is small. But the food is delicious. It has a private single restroom 🚻. I was lucky to find parking with my tow truck hooked up with a car. If there was no parking outside in the street, I would not have stopped by to try the food here. I would have kept looking for a place to eat and eat somewhere where I could easily park and go. I really enjoyed my burrito here. The hot sauce was great. I will come again if I am in the area.

My favorite taco in LA. Not a fan of corn tortillas usually and this place is simply perfect. The flour tortillas are so soft and flavorful. Steak and Cabeza tacos were pure joy. You can really taste the grill on the meats. Fun place. Friendly service. Amazing counter person who was super friendly Will return again and again

Fresh made soft flour tortillas, with pork lard! Way better than the typical dry corn tortillas. We had the cabeza (braised beef but likely chuck beef and not head meat) and the chorizo tacos. The cabeza was moist and tender. The chorizo was normal. Freshly cut juicy radish slices and a sweet grilled green onion. Service was fast. The atmosphere was friendly and casual.

I finally understand why this place has so much hype. In a city where you'll find a Mexican foodstand or restaurant on every block, Sonoratown is one of the few places that keeps things simple and delicious. Everyone talks about the tortilla for a reason. As someone who's traveled to to the lesser known parts of Mexico several times, I can confidently say that it's the real deal. Eating the tacos and burrito took me back to when I was sitting on a small red stool at a taco shop by the road. It definitely felt like a Ratatouille moment. My wife and I only got the costilla burrito and costilla & cabeza tacos, but I'm sure that everything else they sell is delicious. The interior is pretty small and tight, but there are a few outdoor seats on the sidewalk. Parking is pretty tough though. You probably won't find parking in their small parking lot, but we got lucky and found street parking a block away.

12/3/23: 4.75/5 Hits the same notes as the OG spot, w/ a slightly larger space and easier parking. Burrito 2.0 w/ the crunchy tripas (intestines) is still my favorite. The caramelo taco w/ cabeza is great, tender fatty meat. And the bean and cheese chivi is solid too. Sonoran flour tortillas are nice and flaky w/ a great grill char.

I would definitely come here again. The food was delicious! I ordered a veggie Lorenza (tostada), a veggie quesadilla and horchata. The staff was friendly, and the restaurant reminded me of home with all the different frames pictures and art work. It’s feel’s bright and happy even though it’s small. There is indoor and outdoor sitting. There is parking but it’s minimal. Street parking available. Pricing is good too. I highly recommend checking it out.

A group of about 10 of us came here for the second time and man is this place awesome! Everyone here seems like they really love their job. They’re so helpful and friendly. The food is outstanding and worth the price. I wish they had more of a selection of sugar free drinks but I just had water. The bathroom as immaculate. I will most definitely be back again!

Prize winning House made flour tortillas with lard. You’ll want to grab a couple dozen to freeze for your next bbq. Great flavors, charred meats and wonderful pinto beans. If you haven’t had tacos or burritos here you’re just not taking yourself well. Two locations, DTLA and corner of San Vicente and Hauser/mid city. There, I’ve turned you on to something good, please reciprocate. Love you
