Expected nice huge amount of information about Australian wines, winemakers, procedures, bit of wine museum and interactive experience. It was like 10 min and all was over :-/ The place doesn't worth to go to for tourists. Only for wine tasting and functions. Undeground cellar closed. Have a look on the pics and save your time :-)

Very basic facilities and not really worth visiting even for a hard core Wine fan like myself. The cafe and restaurant has wines by the glass of 50 varieties but I found it very expensive.

Another fantastic place in Adelaide to visit. We did the ‘eat me’ degustation menu which was superb. Teamed with some of the most amazing wines. Our sommelier Maria was fantastic, she loves her job and it showed. We thoroughly enjoyed the 3.5 hour long lunch and service. Make sure you’re hungry because the food doesn’t stop 😊.

Interesting and very well arranged, especially the wine tasting bar. However, I would appreciate rather bigger and more detailed museum-style exhibition than two rooms that are currently there.

Had a fantastic self paced wine tasting experience with friends. Staff was very friendly and helpfull with explaining the process. Many wine testing options available from a wide variety of wineries from all over Aus. Open air parking available (paid metered parking between peak hours) close to the venue.

The national wine center was a bit disappointing. You need to booked an appointment for visit . At first, staff offered us a complimentary wine. Staff were friendly. all the rest of the tour was awful and unprofessional.this place is not a tour attraction. So,Not a great choice if you’re looking for having a good fun time.

Fabulous afternoon. The charcuterie was great value and the wines were an interesting mix. I've, honestly, got a mediocre palate, but would like to come back and learn more.

We were lucky enough to have our ceremony and reception at the wine centre in March 2023. Our ceremony was located on the lower lawns - just beautiful!! and our reception was in The Gallery upstairs. Our wedding coordinator Megan was incredible! Megan came onto our wedding quite late but despite this she put us at ease from the moment we met her. On the day Megan did it all – beautifully organised our reception area, calmed me before I walked down the aisle, liaised with all the vendors. She even helped me wash a stain off the front of my dress! Megan is excellent at her job and we were incredibly lucky to have apart of our day. The National Wine Centre Staff on the night also went above and beyond, constantly checking in with us to make sure we were having a good night and to ask if we needed anything. The food was just incredible and the drinks package was excellent. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful location that can offer the ability to do the ceremony and reception with an awesome central location easy for our interstate guests :)

Loved the food. Top quality, fresh and tasty. We had the lunch menu and portion sizes were medium sized. Would definitely come back. Make sure you do the tasting room..120 wines to taste and staff are friendly and well informed.

Small but informative wine museum with excellent tasting system that utilises a payment card system. Beautiful architecturally with a design that evokes a wine barrel. Museum spills out into a spectacular part of the Botanic Gardens.

Popped into the cafe for chat and s coffee with an old (young at heart) friend. We were impressed by not only the food but the architecture of the building, and the selection of places to sit, inside and out. Looking forward to a return visit, to sample wine, and see what else is on offer

Wonderful place to visit in Adelaide city. You have few wine tastings as per your wish. There is a sniffer to smell different varieties of wines. Grape types are there too. Nice experience

Went there on hoilday it was beautiful and the staff there was very helpful and respectful. The tasting station was crowded a little but quite a nice variety of wines, the museum was quite a nice atmosphere with unique history

The National Wine Centre did an incredible job of hosting our wedding ceremony and reception. The new wedding coordinator, Megan, did a fantastic job of bringing everything together, especially considering she had only been in the role for roughly two weeks! All the NWC staff went above and beyond to make our day memorable. They constantly checked if my husband and I needed food or drink. Of course, they also took excellent care of our guests and bridal party too. I especially appreciated that the bridal party got to have a breather after the ceremony with canapes and drinks in our own private room. Even then, staff were regularly checking if we needed anything. The food and beverages were exceptional. Service of food and drink was prompt, and the quality of the food was exceptional. Multiple guests said it was the best food service at a wedding they'd ever experienced. We also had the privilege of working with a sommelier to put together a custom wine package. It was a really personal and memorable touch for our reception. They were super cooperative when I changed my mind about one of the wines, about a week before the wedding. Thanks Andrew the sommelier! Ultimately, I would recommend the National Wine Centre to any couple for their ceremony and reception. They're a well-oiled machine and will go above and beyond to make your day memorable and stress-free.

First time visiting and very positively surprised. Attended corporate event it was well prepared with plenty space for presentations and networking. Being wine institute they served good variety of Aussie wines plus some snacks and simple meals. Service was good and attentive and nothing to complain about

Wow, wow, and wow. Spectacular building on the edge of the botanic gardens. We enjoyed the lunchtime tasting menu with paired wines. Starting with a huge plate of charcuterie and blue cheese that was perfectly complemented by a pink fizz, we moved on through several more courses. My favourite was the mixed mushroom risotto made with gnocchi - stunning. One of the best dishes I've ever eaten. Overall, there was much more food than we could comfortably manage and we took away most of the last 2 dishes. My suggestion to the chef would be to reduce the portions and add a small dessert and coffee to finish. $100 for food and wine pairing - spectacular value. The sommelier gave us some good advice on vineyards to visit in the area.

The museum itself is a total letdown. It doesn't have much content and it takes very little time to visit. The wine tasting downstairs is interesting though and with a nice choice of local wines.

Worth a visit, lots of wines to taste and buy. Exhibit on the history of wine in Australia could be a bit more detailed, was very brief.

Took my mom for a wine tour followed by lunch at their restaurant. The tour was great, and the lunch experience matched our expectations. I had the crab pasta and my mum stuck to aranchini balls and some sides. The service could’ve been better and that’s why they missed the 5 star rating.

Loved our visit to the National Wine Centre. Exceptional customer service, super understanding and friendly, thank you Patrick. We came for dinner, great steak and we did the red wine flight which we would definitely recommend! The live music on a Friday night was an highlight! Dusty was epic. Thank you!!

National Wine Centre is a hidden gem in Adelaide. You can purchase amazing wines from Australia, not limited to SA at cellar door prices.

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the National Wine Centre on 7/10/23 and I honestly am in complete awe as to how perfect everything was! Absolutely everything was better than how we imagined it from start to finish. The set up was so beautiful, not a thing out of place and our vision was met spot on. The food was delicious, every single guest was blown away with how amazing it was. The staff were impeccable! They are super professional, accommodating and just overall lovely people! The wedding coordinator Megan is incredible! She guided us through our wedding planning from start to finish and we knew she would not let a thing go wrong. She really did take the stress out of all the wedding planning! From the moment of arrival to the moment of departure we could not fault a thing! Thank you Megan, and the staff of the National Wine Centre for having us for our special day! You guys went above and beyond and we couldn’t be more thankful! Thank you for making our day perfect 😍

My first visit and my sisters second visit (based of her recommendation we go). Great location to try various wines from around the country. They have an excellent build your own charcuterie board with options of 3, 5 and 7 items from cheese, meats etc. We only got a simple cheese plate which was excellent. The food going past us looked amazing and will definitely be going back for a full lunch experience. The real highlight though is the selection of wine tasting. You get a card and then select you wines. Get a tasting, like it get half a glass, really like it get a full glass. A fantastic way to try different wines that you may not have be used to. The great thing is that you can keep going back for different tastings.

Good description of the wine making history and processing in Australia. Enjoyed the wander round, the lady on the desk was really helpful. Decided against wine tasting as we had a long walk back to our hotel and it was pouring down.

It's not a tourist attraction, it's a corporate event space. Walked the entire centre at 3pm on a Tuesday reception closed, wine tasting closed and no centre staff to be seen. The public bar was the only thing open but that only seemed to be shuttling food to a corporate meeting room. Centre states open 9-5pm but there is only a single guided tour at 11am, that's it!! Don't waste your time

The wine centre is a great place to catchup with the wine industry in Australia. Plus just being inside this amazing building is an experience. The highlight of the visit is the fantastic Wine Bar for lunch. Extremely reasonably priced food, Cooked perfectly, looks gorgeous, and arrived quickly. One of the best lunches We had had in a long while. Plus the selection of wine is great, had quiet few Kangaroo Island wines on menu, plus you can do a help yourself tasting from a huge range of Australian and International wines. Service is extremely friendly and efficient. We will definitely go again with a group of friends.

I wanted to say bad things but being from a F&B background I also understand that things don't always go exactly how it was planned so I will ignore my F&B point of view. My dish the Lamb shoulder and pea risotto was amazing, my wife's mushroom lasagna was not nice. Wines are amazing and so is the venue although it was freezing inside. (Yes, I get it. Because of the wine storage.)

We almost gave this a miss because we had visited many of South Australia's wine regions but so glad we stopped in anyway. Fabulous concept and the perfect way to learn more about wine generally.

Great spot in Adelaide to try a huge range of wines. Had a great time trying wines from all over Australia. Unfortunately a lot of the displays were out of service due to COVID.

My fiance and I enjoyed the 'feed me' experience. We chose the shared option and feasted on a variety of scrumptious foods that were perfectly matched to delicious South Australian wines. The staff were attentive and our sommelier very knowledgeable. Definitely recommend for those who enjoy good food and wine!

There is some interesting history of the wine industry in Australia presented here. The Enomatic Wine tasting system was so much fun though danger to the bank account. It allowed you to sample up to 120 different varieties of wine. So interesting. The food at the restaurant ( Wined) was also excellent and worth having a long lunch with a glass of wine. Or better yet, order a flight of desert wines and a cheese cake. The centre is located on the edge of the Botanical Gardens so you can do a stroll through the gardens in the morning ending here for a tasting and lunch. This place is worth a visit a few times a month to educate your palate. I loved it here.

We were a little unorganised and missed the deadline to book for the longer wine tasting tours so ended up booking the 11am tour plus wine tasting option (it appears on the next booking page when you click through). We were absolutely blown away by our guide Tim, an actual sommelier who was very knowledgeable and funny. He took us through the centre and explained all things to do with wine and answered all our questions (we didn't get to tour the cellar though). The wine tasting session entailed sampling 3 different drops, teaching us how to look at the colours, smell, tastes, and texture (and explained why not to bother with looking at wine legs). We thought we were already pretty good at tasting wines but we all learnt so much! Definitely wished we were more organised to have booked the longer tour/tasting experience so we'll definitely be back there again next time we visit Adelaide. Oh and the food at the bar was delicious, and we loved selecting and pouring wines from the dispensers there too. Yes, we pretty much extended our tour with self-guided wine tasting!

I have not been to the Wine Centre in years and it was such a pleasant experience from start to finish. The live music welcoming as you wander through the main entrance, the outdoor setting enticing to enjoy the afternoon sun. Then there were the friendly staff who could not have done more to make us feel welcome. What a bonus to receive free canapes/tapas whilst enjoying a glass of wine. I am hoping to return very soon with more friends!

My wife and I enjoyed a “ Feed Me” food and wine lunch with another couple . It was a very enjoyable experience. We were hosted by Tim and Andrew. They were professional, friendly and attentive to ensuring our experience was memorable. Andrew’s wine knowledge was impressive which highlighted the connection with the delicious food. Well done! We’ll be back!

Wow, this experience was fantastic! Got a voucher through the SA Great State Voucher offer for a four course meal with paired wines. Staff were friendly, great sense of humour and very knowledgeable. Many thanks to Louise, JB and the other staff on the day. The meals were superb and perfectly matched with the wines. All wines are available to purchase at bottleshop prices! Looking forward to going back to try the wine tastings with a charcuterie board. Well done, National Wine Centre! We'll be telling everyone 🤩

Nice place. Friendly staff. Wine tasting prices are a bit too much, selection of wines could be better, but good as experience. This is not a place for a family with children under 18 to gather around, take your pals and girl friends and test some new wines with a cheese platter.

  • 5/5 Fiona B. 1 year ago on Google
What can I say! Venue excellent. Views fantastic. Food divine, and of course wine spectacular. I have been there 5 or 6 times for functions and am never disappointed. Great place for a work or personal function, or for just a quiet drink for 2 if you want a different venue and to explore the wine story of SA. Staff very attentive. If you haven't been there you are definitely missing out. Following your visit to the wine centre you can stroll through the Botanic Gardens. Who could ask for more??

This place is a Dreamland! Satisfied everyone's childhood memories! We can find all kinds of vehicles, Barbies, toys, clocks and even furniture and electronics from the past 100 years. It's a wonderful place and I hope it will be known around the world. The museum owners are very kind! This place will get better and better!

  • 5/5 John C. 1 year ago on Google
Choosing your meal is rather difficult because everything on the menu looks brilliant. The wine menu by the glass is less enticing, but the two I sampled were well above average. Like Arnie said "I'll be back".

  • 5/5 Grace T. 2 years ago on Google
Absolutely outstanding! I have attended a number of functions over the years at the national wine centre and have always been impressed, but I visited the wined bar restaurant for the first time and was blown away. There are literally a hundred or so wines to taste and an excellent menu too. Would highly recommend
