The experience i am sharing is about the night time when i had visited this place. And for sure it would have be a different review also with a daylight time. But, ohh boy this place looks so amazing with a view of glittering lights shinning from up so high. The city looks so vaguely different when you are down there but if you look from the sky, it’s like “mammamia” as watching the heart of the city from so high. It’s worth to travel up to that height to get a blissful experience. But again it would have been a different experience as I mentioned earlier if it would have been in the daytime. So, i will be visiting this place soon to experience that as well.

Here you can overlook the entire city of Adelaide! It's beautiful and great, but the parking spaces are a bit awkward. He has two. There is a parking lot below. There are fewer seats. The upper one is outside the restaurant. The parking spaces are relatively large. The whole scenery is very beautiful and comfortable!

Very pretty views over Adelaide and the lower Belair hills. There's a fair few trees to look through, but trees are part of the scenery aren't they! Back in my early years it wasn't the scenery we parked there for :-)

What a superb viewpoint. Don't be afraid to take a look at the far end of the car park where there is an uninterrupted view. Just be wary of the fecking great ants nest...

Nice view point of the city of Adelaide and environs. Truly windy. Be careful of cangaroos....

As it says windy, a lot of wind flows constantly. Which makes this place a lovely lookout. You can have a view of the city at a good height.

Easily accessible lookout in the city, good place to get close to nature when you don’t want to travel too far. ☺️ We saw a koala on the tree, cute chubby butt on the tree top

Definitely lives up to its name. Was very windy and cold. Great view of the city lights. Will be even better when the tree line grows a bit higher

Such a great spot with a nice view of the city, eastern suburbs and the ocean. There are limited car parks and would be challenging to find one if crowded.

Windy Point Lookout is located on a protruding cliff. There are valleys on both sides. Belair Road turns sharply here, and Windy Point is surrounded by it like a peninsula. Here you can overlook the vast Adelaide Plain and the ocean in the distance. There is a restaurant here. Lots of parking spaces.

Don't expect too much out of this place. This is just a high point from where you can get a beautiful view of the Adelaide city along with a restaurant where you can dine in with amazing views. Ideal for dates, birthday and aniversary celebrations. Best time to go is the evening. Do not forget to carry your jackets as this place is usually cold being at a higher altitude.

Fresh air. Great view. Enough parking. This view point can be great tourist-attraction if coffee and dining station are managed at top. Introducing telescope can be a plus.

Always a classic spot. Although the view may be less impeded on the outside of Belair Rd, please stay within the safety of the viewing areas. Was extremely shocked and disappointed to see someone risk their lives by walking down the Rd at night in non reflective, dark clothing. For those of you visiting for the first time please be aware it is very easy for cars to lose control on that section of road.

Must visit place if you're in Adelaide. Can have a nice look over the city an beaches. Not too far from Adelaide CBD. Best time to go is in the evening. Could see a beautiful sunset and at night you would see the city full of lights. Airport is clearly visible and you could be able to see flights takeoff and landing. Plenty of parking available.

The best birthday dinner ever had. Got the lovely spot with pretty view of Adelaide. Excellent service with great food. Pretty disappointed as they charged for water which was surprising for us. Food menu is pretty expensive which is acceptable considering the location and food and ofcourse service but water should be complementary. Thank you for your wonderful service and great food.

Any time on any day or night you visit, it is always be refreshing, specially at night this is amazing to see the street lights like stars in the sky. You can see the wider area of greater Adelaide from the top of the hill, and it is always windy!!! 🙂

Good place to get close to nature if you don’t like travelling or hiking too much. Great spot with a beautiful lookout point. Limited car parks would be challenging if you’re planning to visit on weekends. Good for a night drive destination and look out over Adelaide and see the lights.

Good spot but spoilt by lack of maintenance. Dried trees spoling the view. Could be a good hangout spot if more effort is made to enhance the majestic view the place has to offer. A bit of a let down.

Fantastic views small car park when you first come up recommend going to the bigger one at the top just around the corner

  • 4/5 Haresh N. 1 year ago on Google
I would prefer a lofty summit over this. Limited space, 10 odd people and you will feel it is crowded. Only one bench at the top to sit on. Another dining table at the bottom. Good for some clicks, but can't spend more than half an hour. Not sure about the restaurant, but I guess the view must be better from there.

Tranquil place that gives a birds eye view of Adelaide from Glenelg to CBD and everything else. 6pm-8pm best time to visit in summer to watch the lovely picturesque sunset.

We went at night to see the city lights of Adelaide. Wasn't disappointed at all because the lights were dazzling and felt like twinkling stars all over the city. Would have been wven better if reached there right during the sunset. It doesn't take a long time from the city in public transport but didn't realise the way back to the city was bit harder as the next vus was in 2 hours or bit of walk to Belair station. However, i felt like the trees right in front of the view point were blocking the views.

Is a beautiful lookout point. Quite small and feels very intimate. Limited parking in the evening because a lot of people try to watch the sunset from here as it’s so close to the city.

  • 3/5 Mystery Shopper C. 6 months ago on Google
The lookout carpark area is lovely. It can get very busy close to sunset. 🌅 The view is lovely. And there are informative signs explaining what different parts of Adelaide are, from afar. You can see the beach and the city. It's almost 180° view. Very cool when the lights of Adelaide begin to turn on. The bottom carpark for the view gets full quite quickly. There is approx 10 parks. There are public toilets but they were locked when I visited. Not sure when they are opened. I have nothing to say about the restaurant there. The restaurant is only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday with very limited times. It is missing out on a lot of business. So we haven't been to that. It does look really expensive and not really value for money from the reviews online.

I took this picture at Windy Point Lookout, a small, beautiful spot in Adelaide, South Australia. Despite the name, it is a great place to watch the sun set over the ocean on a clear day. At night, you can feel like you are on top of the world, as you can see the entire city lights shining like stars below. This location also has a well-known restaurant and is only 15 minutes away from the city center. If you are ever in Adelaide, I highly recommend visiting this place.

As a place for a nice view in the middle of the night it's one of my favourites in Adelaide! The lights are gorgeous, it's well lit and you can watch all the hoons drift around the bend which is always entertaining!

I'm sorry but it was kind of disappointing or may be March is the wrong season. Although there weather was comfortable. There was nothing really to explore. The cafe was close and public toilets were locked and looked abandoned. Hardly any people around which to me-makes places more alive.

The Central Lookout Point of the windy point ... 3 rock cliffs bearing the name of stemming from a local folk tale. Amazing view of the whole area, although the timing of the visit to a delicate place saw the results of the fires of late 2019. From the observation you can take many hiking trails which allow you to watch the 3 nurses from different directions.

A little underwhelming. Few meaningful vantage points due to foliage growth. Lack of comfort, poor seating and no facilities. Stayed for 10 minutes walking around to find a place to relax and dwell but then just left. Really hope the site can be enhanced with updated seating, cleared views (with replanted native foliage to compensate), bathroom amenities, water stations and accessible interpretation signage.
