Atmosphere was lovely, staff were great, food was well presented and tasted as good as it looked. Pricing was decent and the service was times very well as we had a big table of guests. Highly recommend popping in for a meal and best of all there's a playground for the kids. So if you're looking to take the family somewhere kid friendly, this is definitely the place.

Food quality is impeccable, very pleasant dining area. Also great for the children as there is an indoor/outdoor playground activity area.

Take the wings off the menu please. It was horrible, soggy and ocean-salty experience. Somebody in the kitchen needs to learn how to do it properly before you feed that to people. I don’t think your chefs or QC people ever tasted it. It would never pass the pub test. Literally. Learn the wings from Lobethal Bierhaus if you can, or from KFC of you must. Both would be a better outcome. Asking for “sauce on the side” yielded “soggy wings dipped in bad sauce, with extra bad sauce on the side”. Great. When the poor girl came to collect my nearly full plate, she asked “are you done?”, not “was everything all right?”. Even though she didn’t ask about why is there so much food left (pro tip to waiting staff: something may be not ok, ask, people will be nice to you, you’re just the messenger, not the chef!), I told her that “sadly yes, it’s horrible, just have a taste, I don’t believe anybody could eat and enjoy that”. then she left. That’s where the story ends. Bad experience with no interest in customer feedback. That’s a time-proven successful strategy for not having repeat business. Cheers.

Stopped off for a quick feed and some nice cold beer and the chips and gravy were awesome as it's the old style pub gravy which is just the best, also found out that pints ain't pints in South Australia as you have to ask for an imperial pint otherwise you'll get a schooner as a pint ? Yeah that's SA for ya

This review is for breakfast, I have eaten there for dinner and had a different experience. The smashed avocado was awesome, great size but oddly presented. I added eggs and did not get asked how I wanted them cooked. The eggs Benedict was very small. Wait time was also about 30 mins, I am fine with this but seemed a bit long given there was only 2 other people in the restaurant. Would go back for other meals, won’t return for breakfast.

Our lunch at the Belair Hotel was an outstanding experience. The interior and decor of the hotel is really nice and it has a warm and friendly atmosphere. The train line runs just 20 meters away from some of the dining room windows. These windows are also higher up than the train line. For those who love trains it is outstanding to watch the trains go past whilst having a meal. Our meals were excellent and pretty standard for quality hotel meals. However the roast of the day, being double cooked roast lamb, was absolutely outstanding! A large meal highlighted by extremely tender pieces of roast lamb cut into very small ribbons of meat. A good size serving of vegetables and a massive Yorkshire pudding helped to make this meal sensational! We certainly will be going back again soon.

A nice local hotel pub with a good atmosphere and the staff provide excellent service. I had a personal activity with friends in the local area and we wanted to have dinner in the local area afterwards. This place has a great bistro dining area that is spacious with a nice view. The place does pub classics well with good portion size. The staff were great, attentive and provided excellent customer service. The customer service was much better than you would typically expect from a pub like environment. So they do this very well. Would absolutely go back again.

I’ll be completely honest. Service was absolutely fine, staff were very friendly. Food took a while, but we were notified of the wait so that’s not a problem. My partners meal was good, hot, tasty. However, my meal wasn’t as much. I ordered the steak cooked medium well with mushroom gravy. I paid extra for the gravy, so I would have appreciated some note mentioning it was onion gravy. So unfortunately I paid extra for something I don’t like. Steak was relatively cold, not hot at all. It just tasted quite bland, even with the garlic and herb butter. On the upside, the sweet potato fries were delicious, as was the salad. Probably best pub salad I’ve eaten. I understand that sometimes things may slip through the cracks and I’m not saying my experience is indicative of the average experience, because I’ve heard high praise of the Belair Hotel. Just unfortunately didn’t really meet my expectations.

nice place but the atmosphere ruins it. lots of kids around because of the playground attached to it and is super noisy as a result. would’ve stayed longer if it weren’t for the noise level running the experience

A large Hotel complex set in a great location for a close up and personal view of the Mt Lofty Rangers. Multiple dining and entertainment areas here for public and private use. Well layed out, modern and we'll presented. Plenty of quality Food and Wine on offer to suit any occasion and all tastes..

Love the outdoor area, though does feel a little cramped with the long tables. Food is really nice, and tastes great, but little on the pricey side. Had Sauce Brewing Co Toasted Pineapple XPA, if you like pineapple this is for you. The toasted flavour just cuts through sweetness of this fruity beer. If you love Sauce Brewing beers like I do, the Woodcroft has Bubble and Squeak on tap.

Exceptional meals. The roast was the best I’ve had, and the gnocchi was also beautiful. A asked for a refund on the raspberry donut dessert as it was doughy balls with no filling and strawberry jam on top, which was not as described on the menu. A refund was happily given. Would definitely eat here again. If it wasn’t for the dessert it would be 5 easy stars.

We ate in the Hills View Room. Beautiful views over the rolling hills. Service was great, food was very good. The only downside was the incredibly uncomfortable wooden seats and the room was too cold. It had no charm or warmth to it at all.

We went to the Belair Hotel on Australia Day for a birthday celebratory lunch. Booking a table for eleven was easy. Staff were great and the ordering of our meals was efficient. The dining area was well set out and the view across the hills was spectacular. An added bonus for the kids were the frequent trains that rumbled by. They also loved the play area. We ordered a range of meals, including crumbed fish and chips, roast of the day, warm chicken salad, BBQ chicken pizza, ham & pineapple pizza, salt & pepper squid and pork & fennel orecchiette. All the meals came out promptly after ordering. All dishes were well presented and delicious. No complaints from any of our group about the taste and quantity of food! The Belair Hotel is a great hills pub.

Really good location that caters for everyone. We were looking for a place suitable for kids with decent gluten free and vegan options. There is a whole vegan menu which is rare to find unless you are going to a vegan specific restaurant/cafe. They had a decent kids menu with GFO available. Playground for the kids with a menu they can draw on. The food was very tasty. The table had an assortment of different foods from the menu and no one was unhappy with their meals. We brought along our own cake after and they were happy to provide extra plates and cutlery. Highly recommend to families and groups that need to cater for different dietary requirements. If you’re bothered by lots of kids running around and making lots of noise probably not the place for you 😂

How have they let their standards slip so far. $30 lamb roast, dry chewy uneatable, Yorkshire puddings like stone and cold, crispy roast potatoes were soft and soaked in oil, vegetables were a combination of over and under cooked. Feedback provided to staff with little enthusiasm to be accommodating. Do yourself a favour go somewhere else!

Decent food with a choice of settings - sports bar, main bar and bistro. On the night we had dinner there, there were families with young children, friend groups and large group / birthday celebrations. Only let down were the parents letting their young children race around the dining area in groups, dodging diners and waitpersons while yelling and carrying on. Not all parents were badly behaved as there were many families with young children dining sedately. There was a large sandwich board at the entrance to the bistro advising children that they need to be supervised by their parents at all times - which the children (who probably can’t read yet) and their parents ignored. Pity.

One of the better/ best pub meals my family had had in a while. Kids also kept busy in the kids area so that’s a plus not always available. Pizza was impressive for a pub

I thoroughly enjoyed the variety of meals available. Especially the not so familiar pizzas, which were very tasty. The crusty firm and base crispy thin.

Normally nice meals… Not on our last visit. Salt & pepper squid was child’s serve… I had 7 small piece's of squid … its not squid rings or real squid as it should be… while others around us had half a plate of squid… we were booked in at 5pm so shouldn’t have run out… My husband’s meat pie was ok BUT SERIOUSLY Stop serving up kale…. He eats at home & if you can’t cook stems correctly don’t put on plate… so very tough…. Also I love mashed potatoes with gravy but husbands plate was half mashed potatoes…. Why not plate up some pumpkin etc… What we would have again was the chorizo ciabatta entree Sadly don’t think we will be back… Great atmosphere with a variety of young couples, groups of extended families etc… You used to be a place to go …. Maybe not us

We live less than 200m of this pub and use to frequent a lot. The management is disgusting.ever been turned away cos full tables (when they are all empty) we used to be able to turn up and sit down. This place has gone down in reputation for the last 10 years. And now what’s with the 1.5hs sitting times, covid isn’t a current issue. Recent visit 13/10/23: opinions still relevant. When you run out of bread. Just race to Coles and get a pack from the bakery…… are they serious. $26 for this backyard bbq burger…

An excellent dining destination with consistently amiable, accessible, and accommodating staff. I have no complaints; my sole recommendation for enhancement is to incorporate additional vegetarian choices into the menu, particularly those featuring protein. Overall, a wonderful experience that keeps me coming back!

  • 3/5 Kirsty H. 7 months ago on Google
Staff were nice. Food took awhile to come during busy and noisy service time. Family members had decent meals but my pan fried gnocchi was very mushy and over cooked, sauce was not pleasant either and couldn’t finish it. I would consider a few items on the menu overpriced.

Extensive menu, value for money. Always have the salmon but thought I'd try the beef pie - pastry ok but the filling was very little more than shredded beef (brisket). Consider adding pees, mushrooms, diced potatoes, onion, pepper, etc and definitely gravy

It's so hit and miss, sometimes the food is great, most often than not I've been dissapointed, also we have stopped going there for meals because the wait time can be far too long. The final straw was cold and I mean cold duck spring rolls. Try the Duck up the road, its better

The bar person/manager ( male ) asked to see my medical certificate which I advised is an Illegal request. He was very rude, abrupt and humiliating. We had dinner there, the food was average and very expensive. Charging 5 star prices for a 2 star meal. I will never go back and please no apology required. The damage has been done. I would certainly revisit your staff training on high quality customer service but what do you expect from a glorified pub!

  • 1/5 Anna C. 2 years ago on Google
not stylish but yes, very relaxed. so much so, that food is abysmal. staff are rude also. pizza was rock hard. warm cake was cold, and after it had been nuked in the microwave, very bouncy. over priced, poor quality, poor service.

Lovely and spacious with a child's outdoor/indoor play area. The food is fantastic, excellent quality. I did wait 45 minutes for deserts which were forgotten, however the deserts were to die for.

Excellent service and friendly staff. I have been looking for the best schnitzel in Adelaide and finally found one. It was a chicken one but the sauce was delicious. All the plates on our table and surrounding one's looked amazing, . Certainly will return. Thank you Belair Hotel Staff

Modern interior with great atmosphere, solid menu and awesome turn around time on food. Good variety of beers on tap and bottles. Wine selection perfectly reasonable. Highly recommended for a lunch or dinner feed. Bottle shop has prompt service and good range as well.

Nice food, friendly staff. Obviously trying to get more fancy, though prices have picked up quicker than the quality of the food. Still a nice place to catch up with friends or family (nice playground for kids behind the bistro too).

Usually have good food here, but tonight's was a poor effort. Ordered a steak medium-rare and it arrived well done (grey is not a good colour for steak). The supervisor did quickly offer another (thanks), the replacement was properly cooked but we average quality meat. Lots of gristle, definitely not good enough for $38. Disappointed.

Really good beer experience… I used to work here 37 years ago and haven’t been back again until last Wednesday… front up in what was the old Blue Room, (or Front Bar?) and you might have the fortune of a top shelf bar keeper, and great beer.

My experience at the Belair Hotel was quite lovely. Considering the size, I had a huge and scrumptious meal for a fair price! I decided not to have a salad and was surprised with a second serving of chips. Very kind! The service was fantastic and delivered relatively quickly, considering we had ten people!!! Everyone has environments for them, but personally, for me, the atmosphere was a no-go. Lots of children are scurrying about, which I don't particularly enjoy. I understand it's a place for families, but as a single man with no children, put your kids on a leash!!! I definitely will visit again. The beef schnitzel was deelish!! 😊

$36 for a pub meal three pieces of pork fine dining prices in a pub very disappointed. Now they will respond with a fake auto generated sorry you didn't enjoy please reach out to us. I don't even have the option to post photos because of the one star rating. Again really disappointed will not eat here again.
