Variety of choice on the menu. Interesting salads with main courses. Lovely staff as always. Good sense of humour. Nothing too much trouble. Terrific atmosphere with open fires for winter. Certainly a good place to try.

The food was great (albeit super expensive for a pub). Drink selection is average. The staff inside are friendly and attentive. Outside is not so great. We were told there was "table service" outside. They took my credit card as soon as we sat down but never returned for drink or food orders. We had to go inside to order four times. Despite the three outside staff members having little to do other than wiping tables, good luck getting their attention. Underpaid Coles or Woolworths checkout operators would definitely do better. That said, if you don't mind overpaying and not getting served, it's a nice venue that's rarely busy (for obvious reasons). Great potential.

Our first visit since the renovations some years back and we were very impressed with the dining experience. Of particular note was the friendly, knowledgeable and proactive unprompted constant service from the staff. This is sadly lacking in many establishments around Australia at the moment so was refreshing to experience. Amazing wine room and list with some harder to find cellared locals or even European ones. Market Place steak and vegetables were superb and served in warmed dishes. Really couldn't fault the meal at all. Well worth a visit.

The interior decor and ambience is very rustic and European in an old stone hotel. We had a table reservation but when we arrived, there was nobody to show us to a table, waiting staff rushing everywhere with trays of food just walked past us. After waiting a long time, we finally joined the long queue at the Order Your Meals Here counter. Only after finally reaching the head of the queue did we get a table. The waiter serving us was very nice. We heard great reviews about the food and had high expectations. The duck was pleasantly cooked with a small touch of pink inside. I didn't like the large serving of tart beetroots and too much dill but otherwise well balanced. The chicken schnitzel was nicely chunky and moist. The accompanying chips was very mediocre and ordinary. The garlic bread was very good. Buttery and garlicky and tender crumbed. The fish in the fish and chips, I didn't get to try but it looked fabulous. Looks like a popular dish.

Exceptional wine list by the glass and exquisite cellar selections. Delicious celeriac carpaccio, slithers are so delicately fine that they are transparent yet more than sufficient to bask in and absorb the reasonably well balanced flavours of the dressing that adorns them. Sour dough bread is excellent and the butter will not leave you in doubt of why you would never eat anything other than this pure sea-salty fluffy whipped cream -wonderfully inviting staff !

Great Boutique hotel, perfect for a short getaway. I wish we could have stayed longer. Crafers is a great place to stay for walks and has several dining options. The Crafers hotel serves delicious food however, no need to go anywhere except downstairs. Rooms are well insulated against cold and noise and the staff look after you very well. We will be back!

A delight with some exceptions. The quality of the food here is quite high, you’re paying a pretty penny for some good quality food. For some reason, the chips and the roast potatoes are cooked with some sort of magic here (high quality duck fat I’m guessing) because they’re exceptional. The serving sizes of each main is exceptional and you’re sure to be full. The quality of each dish was remarkably high too, obviously comes with a price but I for the most part enjoyed the dining experience here. The only drawbacks I’d say is that the cooking of the proteins are inconsistent. My group had 3 steaks and all were ordered at medium rare, one was cooked perfectly, and the other two were overdone. Moreover, the food took rather long to arrive. Our waiter was slightly lost and forgot a few things but I’ll chalk that up to a busy night and inexperience. Props for the extensive wine list that was a joy to look through at reasonable prices. Definitely worth a try for a more upscale pub experience

Had lunch here last Saturday for large family group. Food was good. Server Jade was especially good at their job...full credit to them for a smooth and enjoyable afternoon!

Spent an entire evening here sipping wine by the fire and working, followed by a delicious dinner. Staff is great, venue and decor is beautiful. Prices are reasonable. The Sirloin Steak I ordered was cooked perfectly to my liking, well seasoned and served with crunchy coleslaw, shoestring fries and delicious mushroom sauce. I would definitely be back for another evening. The hotel is in a beautiful location and has a perfect, modern and historical vibe. Definitely one of the most stunning pub hotels I have been to. Highly recommend it.

This is best hotel I've ever stayed in. The rooms are massive and so comfortable, old style but very clean with modern touches. Price is fantastic per night for what you get, minibar is complimentary, awesome soaps and shampoos. Bed is very good with infinite pillows yes thank you. The restaurant is fantastic, staff are absolutely accommodating and friendly. The entire place has beautiful architecture and the only thing I didn't like was how short my stay was!

A wonderful local restaurant/pub with a lovely atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff with a nice variety of pub favourites and French inspired dishes on their menu. They are more on the expensive side and the serves aren't particularly generous for what you are paying. So it's a nice treat rather than a regular hang out. Keep an eye out for their monthly specials events too.

Amazing food, great service. I went in there expecting standard pub fare, but the food was so much better than expected. The presentation of the food was on point, and the quality was closer to fine dining (try the duck!). With an extensive wine and beer selection to boot, and excellent mocktails. Added to that, the staff were amazing. We had the most friendly and welcoming waiter. Can't wait to come back!

Great chips, great dessert (chocolate parfait), great side salad. The outdoor lunch setting couldn't be faulted. My main course, consisting of slices of duck was uninspiring. The meat was too rare, too cold and too bland. The accompanying items on the plate, some soggy greens and soupy barley did nothing to resurrect the dish. On a bright note the staff were polite, attentive and highly professional. And the generous 25 percent discount for seniors was much appreciated.

Staff were friendly and food arrived in a timely manner. The setting and venue are stunning. Unfortunately, except for the garlic buns, the food was below standard. I ordered the gnocchi. It was saturated in oil a few millimeters deep and was bland. I rarely put salt on my food but needed to in this case. The other guests with me were also disappointed with their meals. For a pub meal, the prices were very high. This wouldn’t be an issue if the food was at higher price standard. But it wasn’t. Normally, I’d give another chance for a business like this and return in the hope that it was an unusual experience. But given the high prices, it would be a costly experiment, so we won’t be coming back.

We stayed for 3 nights. The Heritage room was perfect. Luckily the sun was shining so we could sit on the balcony. The bathroom is bigger than some hotel rooms - and the floor is heated. The breakfast bar was great for us, croissants, toast, breakfast cereals, tea and coffee included. Also included were mini bar items, beer, soft drink, tim tams and chips all replenished each day. The staff were all welcoming, friendly and efficient. Dinner each night was beautiful, plenty of choices to suit everyone. An excellent choice of wines by the glass and the wine room is an experience on it's own.

I've dined here on a couple of occasions now and I find the food a little bit overrated. Just because a food is given a foreign name in this case French naming it doesn't make the food in itself any better, though it seems that some establishments find it justified to increase the price when using French names. The Le Burger is just a burger and the Steak Frites is merely steak and chips, I do find it a little frivolous in trying to upgrade a product using gumiky French naming, when it's clearly not a French restaurant. That aside the decor and ambiance of this pub is very nice and the staff are exceptional. Back to the food, I found the menu for the main dining area surprisingly limited, other than the standard pub fare that you can purchase at the front bar, you're only offered an additional four choices of protein for the mains, though I do appreciate lack of options makes business sense and keeps expenses down. I had the steak and chips aka Steak Frites, it was nice, though nothing special, the slaw was very one demetional and overly sour, the so called "Paris butter" that came with it was ridiculously overpowering and didn't seem for me a good pairing with the steak which I ordered rare though it came out medium, the steak wasn't tough, though not tender either; somewhere in between, the shoestring fries were pale and a little undercooked, the waiting time for the meal was also longer than I would have liked.

Already one of my favorite pubs because it always has a good range of beers on tap, always good service, there aren’t many pubs with a better wine cellar either and it’s a beautiful destination pub if you enjoy a drive through the hills. Had my first meal there for a long time and the chefs cut special was exactly that, special. Highly recommended!

We came in for an unplanned lunch and were welcomed in by the friendly staff who seated us in the beautiful back room, despite the place being very busy. The meal was delicious, and the wine pairing was perfect. The venue is stunning, the staff friendly and accommodating and the food and wines are of a very high standard. We will be back for sure, but will bring our friends too next time! Thankyou for a memorable experience.

Came for lunch without a booking and the staff were most welcoming and friendly. The dinning area had a warm and lovely ambience. Food was excellent and I wished I had enough room for dessert. Will have to return!

Beautiful charming venue with an impressive wine room and stunning restaurant with open kitchen. Food was delicious, I had the duck and my partner the kangaroo. Service was friendly and personable, but slow. We had to wait 20 minutes to have our order taken, 40 minutes for food, and 30 minutes for 2 beers (after asking 3 times).

Service, food, and interior design of this hotel/restaurant are excellent. My wife and I went for lunch on a Thursday and were very impressed. The staff were even helpful and accommodating with questions we had about dietary requirements that would need to be addressed if we were to bring the rest of our family for dinner.

Beautiful pub/hotel, interior is really nice which adds to the experience. It was busy for mid-week. All the meals we ordered was really nice. However, the chips that came with the meals were too salty. Ordered Crème brûlée but it was not set to our liking, it had a very custard like consistency. Overall though we will still continue to eat there because the service was excellent and we’ve had other food in previous visits and they were good, no salt issue. The wine list is amazing too.

Absolutely amazing hotel and restaurant! Staff are friendly and professional. Room was very cute and comfortable. They had complimentary snacks and drinks, Aesop amenity. I had cocktail, wine and chef's special steak for dinner, they were amazing! We'll be back here again when we visit to Adelaide next time!

Had such a wonderful stay over the weekend! Clean, modern, revamped rooms. It was super private and quiet regardless if the business downstairs! More than what we expected when it came to amenities and complimentary snacks. Great hospitality and service. The pub is cosy and classy, with a great vibe. We were so impressed! We didn’t get the chance to eat a meal but we had dessert and that was delicious! Look forward to returning to stay again and have dinner.

Having lost count of the number of meals I’ve had at the Crafers over the past few years I can confidently say I have never had a disappointing meal there. Great dining experience. The food is always incredible and I definitely recommend always trying the chefs special. The wine list is exhaustive and cellar is impressive. Not to mention a great rotation beer list on tap. The rooms are clean with everything you need - maybe a little off price point but still an enjoyable stay.

Picture Perfect…. Stunning hotel in Crafers just off the South Eastern Freeway. Nicely renovated hotel but still keeping its old charm. A very impressive wine cellar sits proudly inside the dining area, visually inviting and a perfect setting for that wine flight. The menu was upmarket but still affordable with a great sharing selection.Alfresco area too….

Myself and my wife stayed at the Crafers Hotel to attend a wedding at Mount Lofty. Upon arrival and throughout the duration of our stay the customer service was amongst the best we have ever experienced. The rooms were tastefully decorated and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was very modern, squeaky clean and had some nice touches including plenty of Sheridan towels and Aesop hand washes and shampoos. The complimentary breakfast was hearty and had a great variety to choose from. We dined at the restaurant twice for lunch. The French cuisine served was on par, if not better than some of the finest restaurants we have dined at in France. The wine room which we were lucky enough to tour had the most impressive and extensive collection of fine wines I have ever seen. Overall I could not recommend the Crafers hotel any higher.

Stayed here in October 2023 and it was really lovely, easy to eat dinner downstairs in the restaurant and bar. Great room, comfortable bed with all that you need to be comfortable. Mini bar is included in room price and there is a guest breakfast kitchen which is great. I liked the aesthetic of the hotel too, old charm.

We had lunch on Thursday. Excellent facility, service, wine and food. We had the mains lamb rack and chicken fillet. Both were beautiful and generous serve size. Toilets spotless. Highly recommended eatery.

We went for dinner and enjoyed a wonderful dining experience. It straddles the line between pub and restaurant and is more like the latter. Stone walls and soft furnishings make for stylish surroundings. Their staff provided perfect service in a friendly manner. The food was absolutely fantastic and definitely way beyond pub grub - it is restaurant high quality food. We’ll be back.

Stopped in for a meal and can honestly say this is an amazing experience. Staff were brilliant, food was fantastic, atmosphere was great and the place has a fully stocked wine cellar. To top it off its reasonably priced. Highly recommend for a happy dinner! Thanks very much

Booked for dinner with no expectations but ended loving it. Great meals with attentive staff. Awesome atmosphere. Cosy, with a bar area with a fireplace. Had the fire going during a cold night in October & had a romantic cocktails by the fire after dinner. Prices we very reasonable considering the quality. Would return in a heart beat. Please be courteous & book.

Seth made our experience here today. Spotted me looking a little lost as we had never been here before. Came over and was so helpful giving me all the information I needed to have an awesome experience and that we did! The bar staff were also amazing. We had a drink 🥃 n the bar then moved on to the bistro for an amazing lunch. Best beef carpaccio and salmon I’ve ever had. We also decided to try the Penfolds Grange as they offered it by the half glass which made it affordable for the average human 😂 It did not disappoint so bucket list item ticked there!! Seth Gave us a personal tour of the wine room and we got a lovely bottle of Tuscan red to take home. Overall a really great experience highly recommended.

Beautiful hotel located in the heart of Crafers. Service was amazing, staff were friendly and attentive. The building itself is stunning, even the toilets are beautiful. Most meals were amazing. Unfortunately the steak was underwhelming. But that's really the only complaint we have.

Really gorgeous pub. When I arrived, I was greeted at the bar by a really friendly barman who discussed the great beers and ales on tap. I loved the decor here. Really rrendy yet cosy. Wish I could of stayed for longer!

Great pub. A couple different section. The ‘bar’ which is a lot more causal and not what I’d go there for. The restaurant serves the same food at the same prices and offers table service. Service is great as is the food. A really interesting French bistro inspired menu. A very cool glass wine store with their own Somm sits in the middle of the dining room.

Amazing service-the manager made it apparent to go to most if not all tables. She also asked us if we wanted our childs food first while we're deciding on our food. The wine was amazing and very well priced! the whole decor and environment was fantastic and extremely clean. We both have high standards and this was perfect! cosy feel too. The food was delicious also. would recommend! ideal for families, couples, older people! the only down side was the price. We spent $180 on 2 meals, 1 child meal, 2 puddings and 4 drinks. We were seated in the dinner room near the chefs area but there was a cosier area also. The location is great! in the middle of adelaide and the hills, easy to park and easy to find. The bathrooms were extremely clean and well presented/modern.

Have been twice recently once for breakfast and once for drinks and tapas. Both were great experiences. Love the decor and the vibe. Good service and the Sunday night we went there was a single/guitarist doing his thing.

Service from wait staff was excellent, food was nice, however waited an hour for our food to arrive and just don’t think that is acceptable. We were only a table of 5. It was busy but we have been to plenty of other restaurants serving just as many people, and similar cuisine and definitely haven’t waited that long. The side dishes were very small and hence probably wont return in a hurry.

Nice hotel the food was absolutely fantastic my wife and I both enjoyed our meals. Great selection of drinks to choose from which would cater to everyone's tastes. Only thing that was a bit annoying was the young child running round and round in circles which was dangerous for the child and the staff who were serving hot plates of food and drinks.

We stayed for one night and it is wonderful, spectacular and we will be back. . We were greeted by Sandie and she showed us to our room and explained everything. Sandie was super friendly and professional. The room was lovely. The front bar and restaurant is gorgeous and Sandie looked after us again, she is amazing the minute our drink was finished she gor us another one. Our meal was amazing, Michelin star quality and Isobel our waitress was delightful. As for the wine room that is spectacular

Possibly the best combination of lunch & accommodation we can remember! The whole experience was first class- from phone booking to welcome on arrival - every staff member was very friendly & professional and made our stay really memorable! The overall comfort was outstanding , and the included "extras" and luxury items were exceptional by comparison with most "boutique hotels".

Excellent pub. couldn't think of a better place to enjoy great food and a local drop. Sat outside in the area that faces the street - but it was quiet comfortable and shady on a hot day. Service and food were both 10/10. Would highly recommend

Always been very happy before today. We had the gnocchi which was delicious but the 'baby' turnips included were rock hard, could not pier ce with the fork or cut with knife, so how could we chew it? Staff said they would tell the chef, but we waited another 20 minutes with no response.

Refurb looks great, I used to grab a pint here after football training some 20 years ago...so what a change! Wine room is stocked with many delicious things, food was good though medium well on my steak wasn't what was ordered. Staff are friendly, attentive and fun.

Wow wow wow! The Crafers Hotel is truely stunning. It was a cold rainy day and from the moment you walk in and smell one of the many fireplaces burning you feel the warmth and are amazed at how beautifully this hotel is set out. A great bar with loads of local beers to choose from and a wine room that is incredibly impressive! There are multiple dinning areas you can sit and enjoy your meal, which for my wife and I was absolutely faultless. Perfectly cooked wagyu rump steak and a pork chop on the bone that was honestly one of the most succulent and juicy pieces of pork I’ve ever tasted. The meals really were faultless and I can’t find a reason not to give this place five stars. We loved it so much and will be venturing back soon to try other menu items which also sounded delicious.

They served one of the best steaks I've ever had. So hard to get a medium well steak that isn't tough at all! Loved their starters too. A pity we were driving and couldn't give their wine collection a try.

  • 5/5 Honest O. 2 years ago on Google
Nice range of local beer on tap. Pilsner was nice. Interior is really nicely done, showing off the old stone work with a studio style ceiling and industrial elements in the lighting around the bar. Customer service was great for others but we had to wait a while to get served for some reason but I'll give them a pass because they may have had an issue with kegs or kitchen, I watched them serve others after to check what is normal.

This is a lovely small hotel. The room was clean and the staff was very nice. They seemed very happy to have us & provided a personalized tour of the facility. We were in the middle of a long trip & were pleased to find a complementary washer/dryer available for guest use in a small common area. Since there are only a few rooms, finding a time when it was available wasn't a problem. The common area also has coffee and small breakfast items in the morning. Food in the restaurant was also good.

Food, service and wine selection are fantastic. Loved the Onion Soup! Only downside was parking. Had a 7:00pm reservation and spent 15 minutes trying to find a legal park and ended up at the park and ride...lots of 1hr parking near the garden centre that could easily be opened up outside daytime hours.

  • 5/5 Samuel M. 1 year ago on Google
What a great place to have a drink! They have an extensive beer, wine and cocktail menu and plenty of seating indoors near the fire place in winter or outdoors in the warmer months. The staff behind the bar were all friendly and knowledgeable when it came to the many drinks on offer. We decided to stay for dinner and ordered from the bar menu but there is also a restaurant with full table service on site. Just be sure to book during busy periods because there were no tables available for the rest of the night when we asked. See you again soon Crafers Hotel!

Wow, what a sensational French cuisine! ) A+ Sublime flavoursome dishes! Incredible drinks on offer here from Imperial Stouts to lagers & ales! In-house staff are very helpful. The wall side dining couches are so spectacular. That you could fall asleep only after a drink! lol A great place to experience.
