We enjoyed the stay , rooms were nice and staff was very friendly however your card payment process is terrible! The $100 bond you take is still pending in my account nearly two weeks later. There is no need for that! You are only holding it to gain interest. It should not take any more than 2 days to be cleared back into my account.

2.5 stars would be a perfect way to describe this hotel because it has its pros and cons. I will start with the pros: nice and spacious room, comfortable beds and chairs, appropriate amount of towels, a lot of power out let’s and nice staff. Cons: shower knobs are to far down, no toaster, mini bar is ridiculously over priced $7 for a can of coke😳, pool was very average and spa didn’t even work, we had to pay a $100 bond, everything is a bit pricey and the walls are super small could here a family speaking from 2 apartments away. This hotel could be so great if it just made these minor improvements and it would bump my score up to a 4 also got a terrible view I feel like this placed put to much detail into the minor things like the reception instead of maybe buying some toasters or renovating the pool

Didn't have our stay on the books It took a while to find us and get us a room. Paid for a bigger corner sweet. The "view" from the room was a large brick building 2 meters away with 0 natural light. The pool was not heated to my understanding despite being listed as. I was told there was an electric charger for the car and even called beforehand to ask and was told they did. this is why we chose to book this hotel in the first place. However on arrival all they had was a standard wall plug that they couldn't even guarantee a spot as it's not reserved for charging. The room was musky and really needed a face lift. The decor in the room was damaged and dated for some time in the 80s. In saying all that the staff were friendly and always happy to help. I am not one to complain during a stay as I feel the confrontation can ruin the trip so I didn't mention anything. The breakfast was also pretty good so hats off to the kitchen.I would not recommend a stay here especially at the price.

Oh dear. Just can’t recommend. We were upgraded to suite after mentioning the quality of the original deluxe room. Plus the doors between rooms couldn’t be locked. They were broken. The neighbours could have popped in anytime. The suite was worse to be honest. Tired and rundown even though it was recently renovated. Nice staff though. Feel for them. Left and went to another hotel before bags unpacked in any room. Shame. Fairly good spot.

Definitely not a 5 star hotel maybe in the 1980s very lack luster, no toilet brush in the room to start with, saw a staff member in the lift who informed me that there are no toilet brushes provided in rooms, this is a first for me. Also the pool area the art work on the wall doesn't make you feel comfortable being out there I was wondering if that area was used for other purposes and decided to put a pool in and not have something more appealing for people. Room was basic

We had a lovely 2 night stay. However, this shouldn't be a 5 star hotel, I'd give it 3. The rooms are okay but need renovation. Breakfast was really good though and staff was friendly.

My review has been deleted twice now from google even though it is a true and honest account of my experience of my stay. I can see other reviews have been deleted as well. My original review is below. I was allocated this hotel for hotel quarantine. The room I was allocated was an adequate size and it had a window that opened. The only problem was my room was filthy. There was brown sticky liquid at the top of the wardrobe, sticky material in the food drawers and part of a chilli, chest hairs in the drawers where I should have put my clothes and crumbs in the chairs. I was changed to another room within an hour or so of arriving. The duty manager had not checked that the room I was being transferred to was clean and unfortunately for me it was dirtier than the first one. There was a desk chair covered in light coloured hair and white marks, pubic hair on the toilet seat, crumbs in the drawers, the cutlery was dirty, yoghurt on the bed head and the carpet was full of dust. I found a black long hair in the bed (I have blonde hair) and a large coffee/blood stain on the mattress protector. I highly suspect that I slept on the same sheets as the person before me. There was also an open box of bandaids under my bed. Luckily for me I was transferred to a wonderfully clean hotel after my family and I complained to the hotel and the government. If I had booked to stay in this hotel I would have walked out, but I was there for quarantine so I had to stay. The staff are very kind, however as there is no current manager except for department managers, there is no leadership. There are huge breaches in infection control from cleaning staff, as they are not actually cleaning rooms or changing sheets after guests leave. I seldom my write bad reviews, however, I feel that nothing is being done about the lack of cleanliness. I have complained via email to the government and I know several other current guests at this hotel have too. In my opinion it is not fit to be a quarantine hotel and it needs to be shut until they have a system in place and effective cleaning methods to keep guests, employees and the public safe.

Definitely wouldn't stay again. The hotel is dated, severely overpriced and run down. While staff are friendly, the room was not worth the over $400 price tag. A view of a grey wall, no natural light, dated carpet, broken mini fridge, and run down bathroom. The bedsheets should be thrown out, and the mattress had a large lump in the middle. The hotel was absolutely packed with people and check in took over an hour due to the line of people and the fact that our room wasn't ready at check in time. The elevators couldn't cope. We had to go up to go down every time, otherwise every lift was full from the upper floors. This was even acknowledged by their staff who started to put people in the service lift. Breakfast was nothing special and coffees are not included in the price. Absolutely not worth the money and wouldn't recommend.

3 stars for what is a 3 star hotel. $300 for the night which is a little toppy. Good location, but lifts are slow to arrive, and the hotel is very dated and old. Lights did not work in the room. Bathroom is straight out of the 80's

Expected way better for a 4 night stay at a Stamford. Staff couldn't care less and it took multiple times to get basic room service and we had to use the trolley dolly ourselves with no offer to help from staff. Very Outdated but a good tv Our view was great but the windows were so dirty we could hardly see out and past the spiderwebs. Rooftop pool was great. Breakfast was disappointing as they refused to bring up to the room so I had to go down and get it myself. Did a light clean one day but didn't replace towels or toiletry items took 4 hours to get a bucket of ice sent up on arrival. Air conditioner was so noisy and rattling , so maintenance came up and told us to just leave it in medium they eventually fixed the rattling after a couple more complaints. 1 lift out of 3 was never working properly. It would open, but not take you anywhere. In the 5 days we were there, staff still didn't put up a note saying it was not working Fridge was tiny. Best thing was the location

From the beginning we asked for three rooms near each other, there was even a note attached to it booking saying so. Three rooms on entirely different floors which makes getting together frustrating as you room key doesn't allow you to access any other floor. This takes a little bit of thought to make it work. Calling reception on the internal phone is a complete waste of time. The only way to get someone to answer the phone is to call from your own phone and try to make a room booking. All we wanted was some ice for drinks and 17 hours later I still don't have ice. It seems as though nobody except for the two at the front desk works here. In saying that both of them were busy everytime we saw them. We ended getting ice from the hotel next door. It cost $2 but we did get some ice. The room was decent with a reasonable shower and the location is great. Would still stay here again. Great breakfast buffet.

Definitely wouldn’t waste your money Not a five star hotel. Had to keep calling reception to put air con on as on a censor. During night had to keep waving to censor to restart air con. As we checked out then then advised us that our room censor was faulty! Car park extremely narrow, if you have large vehicle good luck!

I haven’t stayed at the Stamford for around 5 years, I used to stay a couple of times a month. I think it’s changed hands. There is no customer service, at 4pm I waited an hour in line to check in, the young couple behind me said they tried to check in at 2 but their room wasn’t ready and were told to come back at 4 where they also waited in line for an hour. No one helps with bags any more, (Alex the concierge used to be brilliant) no valet parking, no one to help me load my heavy suitcase in the taxi at 6.30am to go to the airport when 2 men were at the desks doing nothing. The rooms are comfortable enough, but there is no service any more.

I went to the Adelaide Stamford Plaza's Boulevard Rm Christmas Buffet. Self serve jugs of juices & FLAT sodas were outside the room. Other diners were served beer, wine & champagne at the table, but my request for a sparkling lemonade was refused. We were seated with 6 strangers. The table had colourful menus but NO CUTLERY, no crab crackers & no finger bowls. The food was nice but the extras were not replaced. Sorry Stamford Plaza, you did NOT deliver on my Christmas expectations!

Hi Our 5 star review goes location and to one amazing employee named Sharon who was the Egg station chef. Sharon was the most lovely friendly person in the entire hotel. She made breakfast an absolute pleasure. You need more staff like her. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she was so flat chat busy but still managed to make us feel so welcome. Thankyou Sharon. You made our stay great. The 3 star review is for everything else. So our room was tired, no blankets and dingy. Had to ask for soaps, as room service seemed to have skipped us. Food trays left in hallway. I agree with previous reviews of barista coffee not included in breakfast, for the $400 plus per night it should be. Parking was dreadful and scary. Worst car parking ever facility…. Location of hotel was great. Hot showers great. Sharon breakfast chef, EGGSELLENT.

Stayed two night on 27/4/23. Room was basic with no written info re room service etc. Breakfast is $35.00 per head. Asked for a decent coffee. Oh no, you have to pay extra, Really. Bacon was hard and almost raw as was the chicken sausages. Couldnt eat it. Very average.

Wouldn’t stay again - whilst the service was OK the rooms need serious work. Our shower had no pressure whatsoever, the size and configuration of the bathroom was terrible also. We asked for room service a couple of times and it would take a minimum 20-30 min for our order to arrive - bear in mind we asked for a bucket of ice each time. No options on the tv to watch a movie - sports channels only- so We decided to try and use the option on the TV for screen mirroring from our phone and the TV prompted us to download an app which then cost us $30 which then resulted in the whole thing not working anyway! For $250 per night I wouldn’t stay here again unfortunately.

Very disappointed with this hotel. Not only did they charge more to my account than they showed on my physical tax receipt but the overall experience was just bad. We booked a few days for a work conference (5 rooms +) and the below are a few of the items to note: - Door creaking all night from the wind in the hall way. - construction and banging all hours. - Charged some of our group booking discounts for breakfast and others made to pay full price - I also lost my keys and called them to ask if someone could please just check the room while I waited outside my unit (unable to get in) for 4 hours before they called me back. Some of the lights in the room don't work, and the rooms are very dark, unless you have every single light on. Particular lady at the breakfast buffet was just rude and obnoxious. I wasnt going to write a review. but charging me extra (when the Tax Invoice is less) pushed it. Won't be staying at this hotel again.

Avoid!!!!! Avoid!!! Avoid!!!! Like the plague. I have travel in some far remote places in Aust and Asia but I have never had to change my room each night as the air conditioning just “shuts down and doesn’t work”. They promote as a five star hotel, what an insult to other Stamford brand hotels. More like one star. Even the shower combined bath blocked on day 2 and would not drain. To say I am frustrated and disgusted is an understatement. I never google review but everyone needs to be warned at this $289 a night, worth $50 as I lay in my third bed on the third night. No more for me! I’m out in the am.

Perhaps it was once a 5 star hotel, but it's certainly not anymore - at best I'd say it's now a low level 3 star. Rooms are very dated and old, and not in great condition - likely not updated for some decades from the looks of things. Breakfast was poor - so much so that I only went for the first morning despite it being included in my rate. I moved to a 4 star hotel (also in Adelaide) after a few days that was worlds better in every single way.

Room is clean and fresh. Just a bit cold but asked 4 2 extra blankets and quick delivery. Not sure if air conditioning technician has checked the thermostat yet. Staff are courteous, polite and welcoming.

Like me after my long flight, the hotel is very tired. Everything is looking a bit worse for wear, the place is in serious need of an upgrade. From some of the lift panels not working, the shower leaked, the fresh waft of my neighbours morning motions drifting through the vents and laying on the mattress made me seriously ponder how many others had laid in that exact spot over the years. It is fine for one night, but the prices being changed I was seriously disappointed. In the midst of a pandemic I would recommended a bit more sanitiser (none available in the gym during stay) around the place. I must say the staff were great!

They don’t even deserve 1 star! First thing i noticed is that they actually treat you like you are the virus itself even though they know that you already tested negative. they don’t even give you a key to your room and you’ll be escorted to your room as a prisoner. Wifi is not even 5mb ( yes we are living in 2021 i think.. ) Tv is framed on the wall so you can’t even plug neither your playstation or apple Tv and kind of forced to purchase their movies. Food is horrible so you’ll have to keep either ordering from room service or from outside. Who ever is planning to spend their quarantine days here or even after covid i highly recommend not to do so..

Currently staying at the hotel. Still waiting to have our room serviced despite following their procedure and requesting last night. Phone doesn't work (apparently none in the hotel do) so returned to reception a few hours ago to prompt room service. Not good enough. Pros. Good location. Nice rooftop pool Cons. No room service. No mini bar. Spa not working. Old room overlooking car park.

Stayed in the Junior Suite wow it was huge and very well laid out. The property is in perfect location as you have the trams right out front and train station. Everything is close by and within walking distance. The buffet breakfast was something to look forward to each day 😊 Room service available, overall for the price was very good value and would recommend

We enjoyed our stay at the Stamford. The staff were very friendly and the room was clean, modern and had a great view towards the oval. Didn't test out the gym but enjoyed our time at the pool. Can't comment on the food as we ate out. The hotel is in a great location and is walking distance to most tourist spots. Overall it was a great, fuss free experience. We'll definitely come back.

Hotel is well placed on North Terrace with a shirt walk to Adelaide Oval, River, Casino, Convention Centre & Mall. Staff are great. Rooms are comfortable but showing their age. Bathrooms are quite dated. Variety of restaurants on site & good breakfast discounted for hotel guests. Good hotel facilities with paid car parking available. Good wifi. Nice views from rooms looking over north Terrace (tge front of tge hotel).

This is not a 5 star hotel. The location is great. Easy access and view of the parliament. But it's noisy even on 10th floor. You can hear a lot of noise from the street. Room out date, weird lighting, dark not enough light, armchair is quite dirty, half of the TV screen is darker. The door doesn't close automatically. Broken glasses next to the pool and nobody looks after. Empty spa tub, not filling it up. $35 pp for breakfast.

  • 1/5 Mark S. 3 years ago on Google
Have had to give it 1 star as you can’t post this without it but would actually be a minus . Absolutely terrible, was there as part of hotel quarantine, food was atrocious. Even have there TVs framed so you can’t plug any external device into them so you are forced to hire movies to entertainment yourself. When it came to checking out SA police and SA health told me I could leave at 00:01 on my 15th day but hotel staff informed me unable to leave till 8am as they didn’t have the staff! Is this illegal detention?

Great location, smack bang in the city centre, rooms are just standard hotel rooms - tv can't be cast to from your phone etc and all the usual amenities are nice enough. Staff seem nice, nothing outside the norm though. Didn't wow me but nothing to really complain about either.

  • 1/5 Anthony M. 7 months ago on Google
No running water in the room and staff showed no concern that I had paid for a room and not been able to shower. When I complained the duty manager just said your checked out and good to go now. Made no offer to make good or provide other facilities to shower.

Horrible experience so far. Have been assigned to this hotel which does not come close to what they claim is a five star hotel. At best it is three star hotel. The staff treat you like you are a infected even though I have received negative results. The phone is broken and has a very loud static noise that gives me a migraine which restricts me from being able to talk to anyone on it. Food is terrible (constant indian food) and have already been having adverse effects. I tried calling to get a medical staff member to talk to but they don't care. TV is in a frame so I cannot connect other devices (laptop/xbox). They charge you for internet to get a speed that is faster then ADSL1. The tap water tastes bad, and they charge you for bottled water. They do not provide international adapters and try and sell them to you to get an extra $15 for device. Movies are expensive beyond belief. Extremely slow at brining anything up to you and most of the time ignore your requests. NSW Health should review the standards that this hotel offers to their guests as they do not follow some of the points that are listed in the info sheets that NSW Health states that the hotel should provide/address. An update: medical staff came by 36hours later and wanted to discuss my medical issues in public, otherwise told me I need to buy a sim card to speak with them over the phone. Is this even legal?

Haven’t stayed yet , but just spoke to Ben in reservations so helpful and nice to deal with . Congratulations Stamford for having this young man on your team Liz Powell . I look forward to getting a response about my issue with Covid not allowing us to stay at this hotel

(Update) The below Review was written whilst staying at this hotel. It was most refreshing to see the issues with the room addressed before departure. The maintenance team and cleaners made the room very pleasant. I’m confident to say that given their efficient team work today, all the rooms in the hotel will be nice. By far the worst experience imaginable. 1) staff lock elevator so they can avoid the long wait from the slowest elevators in existence. Guests get stuck on the level with a dead elevator until the staff returns. I waited 15 minutes. 2) the bar down stairs has one staff who took forever to prepare drinks and took drinks orders from people outside the line. It took 20 minutes to get served. I was there to meet with people not stand in a line. 3) filthy room, broken toilet seat, gross shower filth on the tiles, broken tap, shower head oozing black substance. (check out the pics) 4) Aircond didn’t work. 5) window track filled with grime and latches broken. 6) manager completely indifferent to all the above. The place is being run by cost cutters in my opinion and the downward spiral is evident looking forward. (Please note the update above, I was pleased with the hotel well before departing.)

Car park very steep, our manual car couldn't drive up. Dangerous. They provided us with an alternative parking which was great. 3 Star hotel. Bath knobs not in good position. Homeless people roams at night. Great location. Price was good.

Perfect location in the CBD area, within walking distance to art galleries, museum, universities, restaurants, etc. 2 mins walk to festival plaza. Low level rooms have very old facilities. Aircon was very noisy. High level rooms have much better views. Breakfast was phenomenal - a wide range of choices. Customer services were great.

Great location in the middle of the city. Rooms are nice and big and great service. Only issue was the Air-conditioner. It was hard to operate and sometimes doesn't work.

The room was outdated and the shower was disgusting. The entire floor we were on smelt musty. The carpark is an absolute nightmare and they have the audacity to charge $30 a day for it. The staff were rude and I would never stay there again. The location is the only good thing.

This hotel was hard to book - hard to check in - hotel key worked periodically in the lift making it hard to get to my room on the 10th floor. Overall it was just a "hard experience" This hotel is dated and in need of a refurbishment. I must say it is well located and I booked it because the conference I was speaking at was being held there however, for over $300 for one night, there is better value with other nearby hotels.

  • 2/5 Kellie G. 4 months ago on Google
From the outset being provided with car parking a 15 minute walk from the hotel, key cards that don't work to get to your room was bad enough. Then to be provided with a scan code to get out of the park that DID NOT WORK, topped of the poor service from this hotel. Tried to call to get assistance and the phone rang out 3 times! Will never return to this hotel

  • 3/5 Anthony K. 4 months ago on Google
Rooms a bit dated e.g. no USB ports in rooms. But comfortable and clean. Air con a bit noisy, but breakfasts are really good as is the barista coffee. A bit dodgy walking back at night. There appears to be a homeless issue centred around the railway station opposite.

  • 1/5 Amy T. 2 years ago on Google
Stamford Plaza email to advise that they are now a “medihotel” and are cancelling my booking… They offer to move me to another hotel at Glenelg (which is completely unhelpful as I’m attending an event across the road from the Plaza), or to offer a ‘credit’ - also completely and absolutely unhelpful. Bottom line - if you Stamford are cancelling paying customer’s bookings because you want to instead act as a medihotel YOU GIVE CUSTOMERS A REFUND. They then had the audacity to blame me for booking a ‘non refundable’ room - with no recognition or care that they were the ones cancelling my booking?! What an absolute joke. Will be escalating this.

Great paired dinner and 23rd St. Gin pairing at La Boca. Good night, tasty food and lovely gin based cocktails. Good idea to have a Gin flight.

Stayed there for work. Not a good experience. Air con did not work properly, tv channels could not watch as sound keep cutting in and out. Bathroom flooded when showering. Did not have our proper purchase order that included parking but when checking out I had to pay for parking. My colleague had to pay for breakfast which was also in the purchase order. Only one lift working so long wait. Would not recommend this hotel. It used to be s great place to stay but not anymore.

Very disappointed. Definitely not a 5 star hotel. Heated pool, was not heated at all, instead freezing cold and unusable for our stay. Spa also broken and unusable for our stay. Good luck getting house keeping to attend to your room. Took 4 conversations with different people to get our room cleaned and didn’t end up happening until dinner time! Even then they left a dirty cup behind. Room service was very average and not as described on menu. Climate control not great. Pillows and bed not great. In fact no quilt cover. Just a naked quilt in-between two sheets. TV screen mirror function didn’t work. No movie options. No menus or information in the room at all. Unable to get in contact with room service, or house keeping easily. The noise from the room next door was awful. Some sort of high pitched squealing of a hairdryer or something. Only redeeming feature was the breakfast buffet was pretty good. Although no lactose free options for coffee. If you need that you have to pay for a barista coffee. Wouldn’t stay here again. Really average hotel. Have stayed in hotels on Contiki tours that are lower rating and we’re much higher quality!

Nice, clean hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Building is a little dated but super clean and comfortable. I left an item in my room. From the call centre staff to the housekeeping staff, everyone waa very helpful. Housekeeping located my item called me directly and management were able to post my item back to me. I am very grateful to them and the professionalism and integrity displayed by each person I spoke to and those that located the item and posted it. It was very much appreciated.

The location of this hotel is quite good . The staff here are quite good and helpful. The only negative was few of the lights in our room wasn't working. The bed lamp was also not working. But the view from the room is amazing and overlooks the Parliament house in Adelaide. Lot of good cafes and pubs around which makes this place a go to if ur in Adelaide.Hopefully the management are able to quickly sort the maintenance issues in the rooms.

Overall experience was bellow average. Not much attention paid for cleaning bathrooms - missing out some little details, one day our room hasn’t been made up until 5:30pm, had to call reception too so not sure if housekeeping forgot or is too slow - hotel definitely didn’t seem to be booked out. Gentleman at the breakfast takes coffee orders first before asking arriving guests for room number to let them in, had to wait till 2 coffee orders were taken and paid for till 3 seconds process of asking and crossing off our room number was made, which makes no sense from perspective of time management of breakfast supervisor. In 4 days haven’t been greeted a single time when walking by concierge and when checking out there was no one waiting behind us, but receptionist lady only grabbed a key and said “it’s all good guys” no questions about our stay, no have a nice day no hope you enjoyed your stay, nothing but “it’s all good guys” Tall gentleman walking around in blue suit was however very professional and attentive, focused on what’s happening around him, appeared to be genuinely caring about customers not just throwing fake smiles, he should train the rest of the staff in basics of customer service. 5 stars not deserved

Had an awesome stay. Jaqueline that greeted us at reception was awesome. The double windows in the room blocked out all of the city noise. Bed was very comfortable & we were very happy with our stay. Buffet breakfast was also great

When I first got into the room, tried to turn on the light, the lamp and the bedside light both did not work. The staff changed the light bulb of the lamp and it worked but for the bedside light, it needed to be changed by the electrician so I got to wait till the next day. However, it wasn’t fixed when I got back to the room after work the next day. Also, I saw hair in the bathtub when I first step into the bathroom. I wondered if the housekeeping did any cleaning. Not even close to 5 star hotel. No smart tv, no in house movies, bar was closed on Saturday night, they forgot to put towels in the room and there was a 5 minute wait on the lift every time, not to mention the doors occasionally didn’t open once you arrived at your floor. Any other hotel would have been better

There were constant long lines waiting for the lift with at least one not working at all times during our 4 day stay. Arrived back late at night on second day of our stay to find wet towels still lying on bathroom floor, bins full and room not serviced. I had to go to reception for clean towels as they did not answer the phone. Said they were only servicing rooms on request. Requesting service was then just ignored for our 4 day stay Long waits on hold to reception and no answer. Only spoke to a staff member by physically going to the counter. No clean towels at the pool for our whole stay. Rubbish left on our floor outside lift for our 4 day stay. The "please service room" signs you hang on your door are a complete waste of time and completely ignored. Often, the TV would not display free to air tv. Could not recommend this hotel and will not be staying at a Stamford Hotel again. 5 star rating should be removed. If they only have staff to service half the rooms they should only sell half their rooms.

We were incorrectly checked into a city view room despite booking a park view King room. Apparently it was a “better” room but this was not communicated before we went up to the room, so we were obviously disappointed (especially after waiting 15 minutes in the queue downstairs as it was clearly understaffed). Upon returning back down to the reception desk every staff member (3 in total) had a different excuse for the situation which was incredibly unprofessional. After a long wait of approx. 30 minutes I viewed and accepted the new room which fit the description of my booking correctly. The lack of covid regulations was also incredibly inadequate, as when returning to collect our bags the manager allowed an intoxicated & unmasked guest to enter the lift with me. It took approx. 45 minutes for this to be resolved and resulted in me having to change my dinner reservation time.

We had a great room on the 19th floor, was very quiet and clean, a little outdated but was fine for what we needed it for. We weren't explained to how ordering food or getting room service worked, it was all on a piece of paper that we were given but didn't really pay any attention to, we worked it out in the end but a little guidance would have helped, there also wasn't anyone to greet us so consequently my husband took off to park the car as no valet parking, but the car park was full and so we had to use a Wilson's Park, ended up costing $44 instead of the cap stated of $30, not too bad but just something to be aware of.

Expected the WOH factor- Unfortunately this didn't happen The check in staff are very friendly Superior king room - disappointed - old and dated - and extremely noisy for the price The lounge bar didn't open until 4pm on a Saturday - Breakfast over cooked and Unfortunately over priced - staff in the cafe/restaurant none attentive. Lovely Location but the Grand needs to be put back into this iconic venue

Was really worried to be locked up here for 14days after reading some previous reviews. Turns out they must have improved a lot since then. The food was fantastic, all three meals every day. The staff where really nice and helpful and any orders I received where pretty much delivered straight away. Had a great view of Adelaide and room was very clean and had good cleaning stuff to use myself during stay. Good large room also. Outside of windows were very dirty but that’s life and is an older style place but still nice. Fox sports was appreciated too. Have stayed at so much worse. Was the best it could be in a difficult world at the moment.

Location is fantastic, central position in North Terrace and I would happily sleep on their beds every night since they were so comfortable. However, the rooms are old and a little tired with some tears in the furniture and patching noticed to cornices and walls. The decor is dated too. For an overnight stay in the city, especially if you have booked for breakfast then it’s okay. However, I wouldn’t want to be there much longer.

Extremely overpriced accommodation. We stayed in a deluxe king room. Nothing Deluxe about it… just a basic hotel room you would find at a motel. All linen in the room desperately needs replacing. The towels were kids sizes and all had holes. The pillows and bed linen I would’ve thrown out 10years ago. Plus the overpriced room, doesn’t include parking. Very disappointing. The front entrance to the hotel looks 5Star.. very nice, shame about the rooms.

Fantastic location, great service and breakfast a must. Only negative toilet seat didn't fit the toilet and only one lounge chair this would be great for work stay as has a huge desk. Normal hotel very expensive mini bar.

Room was clean and tidy and staff were nice but the bed was horrible, a large section on 1 side had collapsed and we only noticed this when going to bed late in the night so we tried to sleep on half the bed but my partner ended up in this hole (She is only 50kg). When we mentioned this to the staff at checkout they apologized and said next, but I stayed there to show them a photo I took, once they saw this they copied it and noted it down and thanked me for bringing it to their attention. I emailed their duty manager and he assured me I will not have any of these issues on my next visit. Well that's nice, for next time.

I'll preface this by saying that I don't normally leave reviews, but have to on this occasion. The rooms were a 4/5, clean and tidy as we expected. 5/5 to the wonderful chef who greeted us each morning during our buffet breakfast and was a ray of sunshine. On the first morning, Sharon (I believe this is her name) approached us and welcomed us to breakfast, asked us about our stay, talked us through the buffet options and even made recommendations. She highly recommended the omelette, which she cooked for us the next day and I can confirm it was amazing 10/10. Sharon was very observant throughout service and made sure to greet guests as well as to say goodbye as they were leaving. She even recognised returning guests and seemed excited to have them return. Her positivity and enthusiasm was contagious! Breakfast time is obviously a very busy time for a chef, but Sharon made every request seem easy and every guest feel valued which is a testament to her professionalism. Throughout a hotel experience, it's the little things that count and Sharon went above and beyond which was the highlight of our stay. Hats off to the chef!

The staff were nice here but I was a bit dissappointed with the service. I had an issue with the shower in my room and I let the 2 different staff know about the issue x3 times and they told me that it will be fixed 2 days ago but it still hasn't been fixed. The staff haven't let me know why the shower can't be fixed during my stay. I am just using the bath tub in my room because the shower isn't usable.

Great location, everything was in walking distance. The only disappointing thing was that the aircon had a sensor attached to it, so when sleeping, it was automatically turn off when it didn’t sense movement, and the room would get sticking hot. We opened the window but it didn’t help very much. I understand saving electricity is good but the sleep wasn’t great.

Room was nice enough except for the shower! Shower head was broken and had to keep turning the water on further just to get any kind of decent stream. The staff left little to be desired…emotionless and not in the least bit hospitable. Breakfast was $35 and i assure you it was NOT worth that. All of the pastries were stale, the hash-browns were cold and the sausages were basically rubber. This place has slipped in quality over the years, and although it may have the facilities to class it as a 5 star hotel - it’s barely passable as a 3 star. Don’t waste your money.
