My daughters and I stayed here to be close to the hospital. The service was exceptional. Reception staff were very friendly and more than accommodating helping us with every request. We ordered dinner and ate in our room, given a buzzer to pick up when it was ready saving us the room service fee. The rooms were beautiful and very well decorated and modern. The bathroom was well appointed with everything required. The bed was extremely comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying here and will stay again.

Didn't stay in the rooms. We had late lazy lunch. Nice feed. Not too pricey. Nice and big pub/meals area. I'll go back for another lunch feed.

Absolutely great experience. The rooms were in impeccable condition. Parking was easily accessible. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Provided a complimentary room upgrade. The overall design/architecture of the place was modern and presented really well. Definitely look forward booking here for my next visit to Adelaide.

One of the most stunning venues in Adelaide, tastefully decorated with open spaces surrounded by greenery and glass. Food was good but not great. We ordered medium cooked wagyu steaks but they were well done, slightly charred and definitely not 250g. Mushroom sauce, chips and salad were all delicious. Chicken schnitzel was a good portion size, crunchy and delicious. Service staff wasn’t very hospitable even though the dining area wasn’t busy at all. Lack of specials on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday etc were disappointing. I’d definitely be back as this is beautiful hotel but hopefully a better experience and food next time.

It's amazing how much this place has changed. It was always a good hotel, but the focus seemed on the pokies. Now, unless you go looking, you wouldn't know there was poker machine's. Different menus in different areas, which means there's something for everyone. I've eaten in the dining room and the bar, both meals were great. Dining room a fraction pricey for a family, but most decent places are nowadays. One suggestion. A jug of soft drink does not need to be half filled by ice. That's my only beef, so it gets 5 stars. The service was absolutely brilliant, I think my waiters name was Bernie? Garden room was also a very relaxing as well, on another occasion I've been here.

Had an amazing Christmas lunch at the Marion Hotel. 3 course meal included a generous drinks package. Exceptional value. Staff were very helpful and the atmosphere was very Christmassy. I could not fault the food or service. I highly recommend the Marion Hotel for your next meal or event. Decided to add that with good weather the front dining area is opened up so there is good airflow lessening the risk for COVID exposure.

The service in the restaurant and bar at all times during the evening was incredibly friendly, helpful and smiley! Something so simple but rare to find these days. My friend and I had a great night and it was topped off by the beautiful staff. The rooms were clean and tidy, the pub room has a strange setup in the bathroom but all round was clean and affordable. Thank you

I would definitely recommend this hotel if its just for an overnight stay or for a week. It's very modern, clean and tidy, the staff were super friendly and helpful. They went out of there way to fix a small problem we had with breakfast that wasn't included when we made our booking. I wasn't completely happy with my main meal so they offered me a refund or drinks to the same value. And I offered the chef some advice on how he could improve that dish not sure if it will happen. The main dinning room is beautiful and the garden dinning area is an awesome atmosphere, there was a DJ playing music its very relaxed and not so formal. There is this big tree there and instead of removing it they built around it which I think is so cool hence why it's called the garden dinning. I would definitely go back and stay there again when I'm in Adelaide. 😊👍🌳

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Rooms were lovely and the bunk beds were a great addition for our kids. The outdoor/indoor dining area was stunning. We were able to book in late also as we were traveling, huge bonus! Highly reccomend.

The Marion Hotel was recommended to us by friends, so glad they did! The staff are wonderful and happy to assist however they can. The dining areas have a great vibe and are inviting. Coffee is yummy! The rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable. There's a convenient Bottle Shop on premise, with a supermarket close by. Great Value for money, we will be a regular here for sure!

Review of the dining side only: Great renovation a with timeless modern feel without losing touch of practicality. Plenty of different areas to sit down to enjoy any number of diverse menu options. Portion sizes could be improved considering the prices and the biggest reason for the lower rating. Friendly staff, clean eating areas and great atmosphere.

We went here for lunch mid-week. Service was great, staff very friendly and helpful. They even let us take our unfinished bottle of wine with us when we left! Food was great - 👍 will definitely be returning. We had the seniors chicken schnitzel- delicious!

Great location. Nicely decorated & various spaces to relax other than your room. VERY comfy beds! Was expecting bad pub and hallway noise but it was great. We slept in & didn't get harassed once. A few of our meals were almost cold. Reception & house keeping staff were excellent

I can't fault the room, it was spacious, clean and newly renovated. The food prices at the restaurant downstairs were way over priced. A lot of it was pre heated frozen party food. I wouldn't eat there if I stayed again. The image attached was pitched as fried dumplings, was $22 and they were gross

Could not ask for a better stay. Rooms are clean and spacious enough for what you need, beds are comfortable. Staff are all friendly and helpful. The breakfast included in our package stay was delicious every day. The nightlife dining is great with DJ and live music. A really great stay and will choose this accommodation again

We only ate in the restaurant so can only review here. Utterly disappointed in our meal. I ordered the pulled chicken burger, which came served on a small plate with fries. The supposedly pulled chicken, had the look, texture & taste of chicken in a can (Luke tinned tuna) I was expecting fresh pulled chicken, (like pulled pork) I was very wrong! There was a tiny ring of picked onion & one small lettuce leaf. I managed to eat half, when I reached the point I just couldn't face the rest. The taste was awful. My Partner had the smashed beef burger, which was greasy & tasteless. We were so disappointed. I did call the lovely waitress over (Laura) to ask if the chicken was tinned chicken? She said a few patrons had mentioned the same thing & said it wasn't. We asked if they would pass on our feedback to the chef & she came back after talking to her manager & kindly offered us a dessert. Sadly the dessert I chose, a sponge pudding with salted caramel ice-cream, was dry & clearly a microwave sponge pudding with a small scoop of ice-cream, was equally disappointing, which I also had to leave. The Marion Hotel offered a good table service by Laura, but the bistro is over priced, especially for the poor quality of food they serve up. Sadly I'm not sure we will be returning. A very disappointing Christmas treat to ourselves last night.

The hotel atmosphere is just great. I went on a Thursday, and It was full. The food arrived super quick and it was excellent. I went for the Chicken Parma and it was 5 stars.

  • 1/5 Fred W. 8 months ago on Google
Unfortunately I did give this place a 3 star before but I have to down grade that to a one because they keep forgetting my order. It takes them longer to make a coffee than a meal. Sometimes I have to go back to the bar 3 times to remind them to make my coffee that I already paid for. It's time to find a different place for my lunch.

My second time staying at the Marion hotel did not disappoint. We were stoked with the location, everything we wanted was under 15mins in the GPS. Lots of yummy snacks in the room and friendly housekeeping staff. We will be back.

Didn't stay at hotel but reviewing for drinks at the bar and the garden. It's a great place for a date or intimate conversation if it doesn't rain and you bag a seat outside... I had 3 gin mixes all good but extremely pricey, a scotch, and the absolute worst hot chocolate of my life. Its going factor seems to be that it has a nice environment and is tastefully appointed. Nothing else makes an impression. Parking was easy.

Good location. Great venue. Came down for a 90 th birthday in the function room. Cheese platters were supplied to each of the tables. We had our own bar and staff member which was great. Great re noise in the function room. Bedrooms were fairly large and quiet.

Formerly my favourite pub in Adelaide. In recent times the food quality has dropped, the menu has shortened, while prices have risen. Its a slippery slope! I hope the owners realise that the best pub south of the city is slipping and correct it quickly

Has great trivia on Tuesday nights, Clint is awesome! Food is good quality but a little pricey (isn't everything though). Staff are awesome. The egg net stirfry is awful though - it's not a good menu item and I hope they cycle that one out 🤮. Nice vibe, nice rooms, just don't get hit by the cricket bat.

Did stay but had dinner. It was fully booked out so I had to go the next day, and now I know why!! Absolutely amazing. Best steak meal I've ever had, and service was top too. Teika served us

  • 3/5 Mehrdad A. 9 months ago on Google
Had the steak and it was so tasteless and chewy. They have changed the menu and it is awfully expensive. Asked for a replacement meal and they offer me garlic bread. I liked the previous menu, but with the new chef I wouldn’t go again.

Stayed for 1 night during the week. Reception staff were great. Rooms were very modern and very clean. Enjoyed dinner, steak was cooked perfectly (medium rare) Breakfast the next morning, bacon and eggs. Food was all great quality and enjoyed "the big 5" smoothie. Best smoothie I've ever had! We will be back each time we are in Adelaide.

A table of 4 and not a good meal between us. Fish, Salt and Pepper Squid tasteless and the Korean Spicy Chicken cooked to a crisp. I messaged the hotel with no response. I will not return. Much better food to be had elsewhere and much cheaper as well.

We only went here for lunch. It was average. Sent the caesar salad back & asked for an egg with runny yolk to top it rather than the hard egg provided. The croutons were over-sized & dressing tasted mainly of mustard. On the plus side, the lettuce was well-washed & drained so the salad was crunchy, not gritty.

Really happy with our stay at the Marion hotel. Organised to have a function here then stay for 5 nights as we live interstate. Function ran smoothly, great friendly service, lovely set up, nice food and great offering of non alcoholic/ alcoholic beverages. Accomodation was easy and free parking. Also really enjoyed being able to come down stairs every morning and get a nice coffee and read the newspaper. Would recommend!

  • 1/5 Keith J. 7 months ago on Google
Was refused lunch service! Unless we gave them our name and telephone number, we were told we would NOT be allowed to sit down and purchase lunch. Really! We didn't want your text messages, or your phone calls, my wife and I just wanted to enjoy a nice meal together. Isn't our money and patronage enough? We drove 5 mins and had a lovely lunch at a nearby hotel, they didn't demand our personal details, they just accepted us, as we were.

Superb service Stayed in Marion hotel and it was good. Authentic food and quiet a wide of selection of menu in their bistro is a must. We had a great time together with my kids. Staff are super friendly too.

Active Education had their 30th birthday celebrations here. Used the garden room. It has its own bar ... great. Food was served on trays ... lovely selection with gluten free option too. Parking was tricky ... once inside there were lots of people in all the various spaces available. One couple stayed the night who said it was the best nights sleep they had away from their own home. Overall a wonderful night.

I recently organised a fundraiser in the secret garden function room and it was amazing. Staff super helpful setting up the space and serving people on the night. Cocktail food that was served was 10/10. We stayed in the Treetops Room and enjoyed soaking in the freestanding tub. Definitely will be booking again :)

This is a review of the food at the restaurant. The sevice is very good and the venue attractive. Unfortunately the food we got was not so good. The share platters we bought were very poor. The smoked lamb was both tough and raw. The honey prawns had probably been cooked a few times and consequently tough as well. The chef (cook) is good with flavours, but not so proficient at cooking. The vegie chips were fine, but possibly out of a packet. Most disappointing and not cheap.

There was a large group of us that visited Adelaide for the weekend and about a third of us stayed at the Marion. Overall, it's a great place to call 'base' and to lay your head down at night. The staff at reception are super friendly and helpful, as were the folk that cleaned our rooms. Most of the staff in the restaurant must have been having a bad couple of days, as we found them to be curt (thus the four stars for service). There were a couple that were actually like the rest of the staff - friendly and welcoming. The food itself was ok. Most of us had the 'Lot' for brekkie and was not bad. The brekkie burger we had on day one was ok. The rooms on Level 1 are "noise affected", but didn't really bother those of us on that floor. The rooms on level 2 were quieter and even more so going all the way up to Level 4. The smaller rooms are actually quite small and the distance between the desk chair and bed can be a challenge if you're on the large side. The bed is comfy and AC cold, good amenities in the room too. The water, crisps and Tim Tams, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and milk in the room are on the house - well done on making that call team. Loved that touch. Bathroom and towels were clean. It's 15-20 mins from Adelaide CBD by car and the airport. Overall, it's a great price for what you pay.

Went there for a family catch up. I love ordering with QR. However when there is something wrong with your order who do you talk to. Ordered the Philly cheese steak. Not much steak and two small dollops of mayo is not what's described. Will not be back. Nothing nice about the place. If tables are sticky it's because they have not been wiped properly. It's a basic..

  • 1/5 Matthew R. 4 months ago on Google
Ordered a "full size" Chicken Schnitzel Parmigiana. $25 + $4 for the topping = $29. The food was very slow to come out. The plate was a third of salad & a third of cold and soggy chips. The Schnitzel itself was not only small in size, but it was soaked in so much oil that if it was thrown into the ocean it would have sparked a nationwide protest from Greenpeace. Sadly, most of the meal was inedible. Disappointing considering the wait time and the price tag.

  • 3/5 Benn O. 5 months ago on Google
Ordered sweet potato chips which didn't arrive with aioli as described on the menu. Not a big deal... Thought we'd wait for someone to check how our meals were going which never happened. Eventually someone whipped past and grabbed plates without saying a word. Not impressed with the service. Meals and drinks are overpriced.

This review is about the hotel's breakfast delivered to the room on December 23, 2023. Please check the picture for the poached egg. (Nothing close to poached egg)We spent around $75 for breakfast for two, but the eggs and even the pack of butter , almost like they were a month old. On the positive side, the hotel service and staff were excellent

It has been years since I have been to the Marion, and the transformation to it since I was there last is fantastic. A very nice place to have a pub meal. Meal selection isn't huge, but all the basics are there. (Fish and chips, burgers, steaks etc) Also I was very happy with the service provided. I will be back.

The Marion Hotel dining room is very noisy. If you want to eat and have a conversation, forget it. The waiting staff is very friendly and hard working. But the meals are expensive for the quality of the food you get served. We had to return 3 meals. There are not enough parking spaces available either.Be prepared to park in a side street.

Really like this newly renovated hotel. Lots of different spaces to occupy.with different seating options. EG comfy chairs to read the paper by the fire or more traditional bar seating. Friendly staff. Gr8 layout. Pretty outdoor area with a tree in the centre makes for a natural canopy and nice place for a gathering or informal function.

Outstanding in every way. Marion Hotel made our reunion the best it could be. Incredibly helpful friendly and accomodating staff; nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful venue too. The menu options had something for everyone, the quality of the food wonderful. The atmosphere of the venue was so calming and welcoming. Really a faultless experience. Thank you for making our reunion such an incredible success.

Have been here a couple of times. The food menu is different when compared to other hotels in Adelaide. Tastes good too. Dining area is always neat and clean. The Garden is a fantastic place.

Very nice meals in newly renovated premises. Extensive menu for both food and drinks, featuring reduced menu for seniors, at reduced prices! Outstanding service, especially from our waitress, Toni. It was a birthday celebration to savour, thank you!

I've stayed here a few times - the rooms are amazing. I love the decor, beds are ultra comfy - huge baths in the nook and treetops rooms. The food has not disappointed me once. Ive had room service, breakfast and restaurant food. There's a TV in the bathroom so you Cam relax in the bath and watch The Office 🥰😆 Great cocktails and amazing value gin tasting board. They do functions aswell with a few different areas. Planning on booking another stay soon - just coz.

Two of my friends and myself had an absolutely amazing lunch today, 09.07.2022. Bridgette was so helpful in showing us to our table and providing great care that we where ok. Our staff member during the the meal was Georgia, who was so professional, friendly and well trained. She recommended a different sauce; which I had never heard of before; for my Scotch Fillet. Explained what wine was being served and was so helpful throughout the entire time we were there. The meal was perfect , especially the way the corn was cooked and presented. Highly recommend this hotel! Well done guys!!

The beds and pillows are just so comfy, the kind that you just want to stay in bed all day. The rooms are a great size and you don't feel confined to a small box. Staff are very friendly and welcoming when checking in & out. Restaurant staff are friendly too, and the food always tastes great.

First experience here. - Place looks nice inside and staff are welcoming and friendly… but the prices are absolutely ridiculous. $24 for a chicken schnitzel chips and salad, then it’s $2 for the sauce of your choice that comes in a tiny pot?? I did my best to cover the full (which is not that big) chicken schnitzel in mushroom gravy with a knife and still didn’t cover it, what happens if ya wanted it over your chips? Then to find out that you have to go collect the food yourself?? - I don’t blame the staff here as they’re just doing their job.. but I just can’t justify the food menu. - definitely won’t be eating here again unless the prices drop or you get what you pay for. - taste of the food was nothing special. The Broadway hotel does $15 pan fried schnitzels with chips and salad and it’s to die for, you also get it brought to you.

I’ve stayed at the Marion Hotel a few times with my fiancé and with my Parents. The customer service is exceptional. The staff are so accommodating, friendly and joyful. Beautiful rooms, great location. Very well priced. But the last 3 times we have eaten in the dinning area the meals have been disgusting. Over priced for what you get. Really disappointed in the meals. Won’t stop me from staying there but will definitely not be eating there anymore.

Awesome newly renovated restaurant with multiple areas, fully loaded bars & private party/function rooms. Service & food was perfect. I visited the Marion Hotel for drinks & dancing for a friend's birthday. She stayed in one of the rooms and it was a beautiful space. Modern with everything you could need. I can not speak for the food but there is a variety of beers, wines, cocktails etc to pick from. They can make any classic cocktail if it is not details on a menu which is nice. After around 11pm there was a DJ playing for dancing which was super fun.

Great location for where we wanted to go. The hotel restaurant and foyer was absolutely beautiful, and the food was nice. Service was excellent, very friendly and allowed us to check in super early which was awesome. Budget room was just that, could hear alot of music from the pub(which was warned on website). Bed was comfortable but room was very small, but you get what you pay for. Would stay there again, just in a larger room with a baby!

  • 3/5 Luke S. 1 year ago on Google
Great vibe, great music and good selection of craft beers. Food is hit and miss though. Their "full schnitzel" is pretty average sized and the chips are hit and miss too - often undercooked. They used to do a philly cheese-steak that was to die for but they have taken it off the menu. Recommended for a drink but not a meal.

A team up front, F team out back. The family and I went here for dinner last night (20th November 2022) and came away very disappointed in the quality of the meals. While the girls serving us were very helpful and attentive (shout out to Renae) the meals took a long time (close to an hour) to arrive. When they turned up, my wife’s curry was served cold. My son who has a gluten and dairy allergy was served a burger with mashed potatoes on the side. That’s laughable in and of itself. I ordered the chicken schnitzel and it was one of the worst I’ve ever had. Tasteless, rubbery and bland. It’s clear the chefs (seems a stretch to describe them as such) aren’t cooking from fresh but are using predominantly prepackaged frozen ingredients. Very average and more to the point, not worth the prices being charged. When we went to pay, we were double charged for a beer so there’s that as well. All in all, an extremely disappointing experience all round. Can’t say I’ll ever be back. Cheers

Stayed in a superior king room which was really nicely fitted out and very modern - bed was super comfy! Bar was busy with a wide range of beers on tap and a wall of spirits to choose from. If you're planning a function, make sure you check out the secret garden function area.

The Marion Hotel is popular - especially Friday/Saturday nights so it pays to reserve your dining area early (like days earlier). The new menu is interesting. The meals are of a good portion and quality.

My wife and I spent one night at this beautifully restored and added to the hotel. We were greeted with a friendly smile from the receptionist who organised our stay professionally. A good, spacious room with a king-size bed made for a pleasant stay. All light switches were on dimmer controls with smart TV providing a wide range of entertainment for guests. We were waited on in the dining room with excellent service and provided with beautifully prepared meals. Overall, our stay was pleasant meeting our expectations in all areas. Well done to all the staff.

We have been here a few times for a meal and always enjoyed it. We decided to get married there last November. The hotel made organising the event extremely easy. We told them what we wanted and they made it happen. They even had a plan B just in case the Covid rules changed. We booked for lunch to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and imagine our surprise when we received an email a few days before the day, with a $100 food and drink voucher to use. ❤️

It's a nice place to hang out and have some drinks. Bartenders are nice and do a good cocktail. The food was ok. Partners enchiladas were pretty dry with little sauce and not worth the 30$ price tag. My schnitzel was good, and so were the vegetable crisps we got as well. I'm not the biggest fan of having to go get my meal from a window when I'm paying over a hundred dollars for dinner.

Went for a Sunday afternoon family lunch, place was pretty full and a few functions on but this didn't affect quality at all. Meals all good sizes, priced well and cooked well. Very enjoyable pub meal.

My partner & I stayed in the Marion Hotel for one night in order to celebrate a special birthday. With the exception of the security deposit that we payed and were never informed about at the time of booking, we found the room to be clean and comfortable, the bed excellent and the staff friendly and courteous. Our dining experience however is another matter.

I just love the Marion. It just has a very comfortable vibe, the beds are excellent and the fact that you have a full and very good restaurant and bar downstairs makes it so good for travelling for work. I have stayed here 3 times in the past few months, and the experience has been so consistent. I travel quite a bit for work all over the country but the Marion will definitely be one of my favourites.

I had lunch here, on a Sunday, with 14 other people. What did the majority have to say about their meals? The chips are cold, the snitzel is cold, the gnocchi is lukewarm at best (incredibly oily too), and the coffee is cold. It's nearly the middle of winter, it's raining and the best this hotel can do is serve food that is cold. The two oversized ceiling fans were on, too. Do they have a thing about the cold?

In regards to your chicken tenders, arancini balls and chips. My Nan has been dead for four years and she was cremated. Her ashes sit on a mantle piece above a fire place and I think she would still be more moist than your chicken tenders. The arancini balls look and tasted more like a glorified Coles branded rice smothered in a cheap and tastless Aldi special crumb. Postive is your bar is huge with plenty of staff and drinks on offer. Negative is your staff have absolutely no idea how to service it in regards to how your drinks work or how to not engage more with themselves and personal life chat that your customers could not care less about. Further more. Same drinks purchased three times, were three different prices. One star because there was no zero star.
