The Brecknock is an awesome local Irish pub, easily the most authentic in Adelaide! Great prices, amazingly friendly staff, frequent open mic and music nights, always a good place to stop in on the way to dinner or to meet people in the city. Check it out!

Located right near the tram, the Brecknock Hotel has all the feeling of a local pub in the UK. Service with a smile, the regulars drinking at the bar, and the well valued imperial pints of Kilkenny make this homely place hard to fault. Perfect for a winters evening!

Great place. Glad it's back open. Kim's a lovely person. Will be enjoying Guinness as often as I can.

Always love this place for a last minute chilli chicken and rice lunch on a Friday. Just your old school pub but a great little catchup spot, friendly and quick service.

Old school bar and average selection of whiskey. Nevertheless to our surprise, the service level is off the chart. Highly recommended to see Kim instead of signing up for a psychotherapy session elsewhere!

Speaking of school Maria Louise Treloar you may wish to undertake an English refresher as you don't seem to have a grasp of "their", "there" or "they're". I went to the Brecknock recently (not Citizen) and I must say the two ladies behind the bar were absolutely fabulous....

The main area of the Brecknock may now be a Chinese Restaurant but the corner bar remains open as an Irish pub. Best Guinness in Adelaide.

Awesome little Irish pub

Charming, discreet, with an old school vibe, great whiskey selection, awesome food from next door (City Zen), excellent service, can't ask for more

I was glad with the food but the service at the end was appalling. The woman behind the bar was extremely rude and unable to answer my questions when I asked for the price of an item I had ordered. She couldn't or would not respond to my question and pretended not to be able to speak English. This is another reason I do not understand why migrants come to an English speaking nation and then refuse to learn the English language. Pure foolishness! And then they have the audacity to write up the bill in Chinese script and to charge you without you finding out what precisely you are paying for. After all, you have a right to know! The food was no more than what I would find at any other yum cha restaurant and I was not happy with the service at all!
