It is about an half hour ride away from the Adelaide city by tram service. After reaching the place was quite taken away, as we did reached in the mid afternoon. The beach was so calm and quit even with the people around. Loved the place by walking on the warm sand with the breezy winds flowing on the cheeks. There are good restaurants also available to the nearby place. Also, children’s can have a good time to play around here. Definitely, be travelling again to this beach soon.

Beautiful beach! It has a different ambience from other beaches of Adelaide. Looks like a happening and active place. The sunset view is awesome. I clicked a sunset video today it took the Sun to set in just 30 seconds. See the beautiful video attached.

Glenelg Beach is a wonderful place to visit for a relaxing and fun-filled day. The beach is clean, wide, and sandy, with clear blue water and gentle waves. It is ideal for swimming, sunbathing, surfing, and fishing. There are also plenty of activities and attractions nearby, such as the Glenelg Pier, the Moseley Beach Club, the Glenelg Tram, and the Glenelg Pedal Bar. You can also enjoy the shops, cafes, and restaurants along Jetty Road. Glenelg Beach has something for everyone, whether you are looking for a romantic getaway, a family adventure, or a solo escape. It is one of the best beaches in South Australia, and a must-see destination for anyone visiting Adelaide.

Beautiful beach, soft sand, clear blue sea and lots of attractions. There's a festival market whilst we were there selling from candles, t-shirts, rattans, hats and many more. There's ferris wheel as well. Nice weather for the day.

The beach is beautiful with lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. We spent New Years Eve on the beach and the fireworks were amazing. Long white sandy beaches. The sand is super soft.

Glenelg beach is only about 10km from the CBD. This is a pretty relaxing place for people of all ages. Restaurants, playgrounds for kids, lovely beach, jetty... are in a clean, cool and fresh space. The clear blue sea water blends into the blue of the sky on the horizon every time I come. Love it!

The most attractive of the seaside suburbs in Adelaide. There are streets lined with pines giving it a cool feel during the summer. The beach is one of the best in Adelaide, wide expanses of white sands and blue sea. The nightlife is great down at Glenelg with plenty of places to eat and drink so you are guaranteed of a good night out. Add to that the biggest and best public new years party and those that are out for a good time will be in their element. If you want to get into the city the tram will have you there in 25 minutes and the drive is an easy one.

Glenelg is a true paradise. If you need to see night life in Adelaide, get here. Specially during the weekend. There’s ample enough parking but so hard to get one. This place gets really crowded. You can go in the ferris wheel starting from $10 per person. The cost would increase if you wish to have a photograph taken. The tram line starts from there. You can find a variety of restaurants there with dine-in, take away. The best time to visit would be after 5pm during the summer time as that’s when the sun starts to cool down.

This is by far our most favourite beach in Australia. Nothing to complain, compared to other beaches we’ve visited especially in Victoria. Let’s start with how easy it is to get there by tram from the CBD; the tram stops very close to the beach. Along the main road, there’s many restaurants that make the area very lively. And of course the beach: it is very clean with beautiful smooth sand. The jetty was also good!

An amazing place for both sunsets and sunrises, this pristine beach is the best place to feed the birds, swim, fish off the jetty, walk the dogs, paddle, go on the Ferris wheel, take a break at the Mosley Club, grab a coffee at one of the many coffee bars, book a hotel room overlooking the sea, hire the bikes, have a picnic, grab an ice cream, go on the water slides, drop the kids off at the theme park Beach House, play a round of mini golf , play volleyball, Or just get your chips nicked by a seagull All in all plenty to see and do, would recommend/10

The most popular and touristry beach in Adelaide. Long and white sand beach. Family friendly beach with spacious open area for walking around, relaxation, food tripping and entertainment. A very nice spot for chasing sunrise and golden sunset while jogging around or even unwinding at the coastal side. It's really worth it to visit.

Glenelg Beach is basically my happy place! 🌞 The sandy shores, the chill vibes – it's a 5-star escape right in Adelaide's backyard. I love how there's room for everyone to spread out, whether you're into building sandcastles, catching waves, or just catching some rays. And can we talk about those sunset views? Unreal! 🌅 Jetty Road is like the cool neighbor of the beach. Shops, cafes – it's the perfect spot to grab a snack or a cute souvenir after you've had your fill of sun and sea. Bonus points for how clean and well-kept everything is. No beach day drama here! Glenelg Beach is my go-to when I need a quick break from reality. If you're in Adelaide and haven't soaked up the Glenelg goodness, you're seriously missing out. It's the kind of place that turns a regular day into a mini-vacay. 🏝️

Glenelg beach is nice, has some sea weeds at the shore but once you pass that and walk/swim inside then it's better to swim, walk or play. We enjoyed the Ferris wheel as it had a good view of the entire beach and city. Apart from the Beach, I liked various eateries around, it has all inter continental delicacies available.

This gorgeous beach is a ‘must-visit’ when you are in the area, even more so during a sunny day! Large lawns for picknics or while having a bite to eat. Enjoyed walking out on the pier!

Highly recommend. Suitable for kids, teens and adult. Lots to see and do. At least 3 - 5 hours here or whole day if you have the time. ☝️Bring swim wear, picnic rug and thongs. Bring a set of spare cloths for kids as there are plenty of water play. ☝️Quite windy and chill even at 29c. Bring something warm. ☝️24 hr public parking for $3.5 per hour at the back of Standford Hotel.

Beautiful beach for a swim and play on the sand. Some interesting rocks and shells to search through. Family enjoyed spending a couple of hours here. Found free unlimited parking about 5-10min walk away from jetty and there was more available when we arrived around mid morning.

Beautiful beach just 25 min by metro from CBD Adelaide, where you can find different types of food, bars, restaurants, to have fun swimming. Is a nice place to be and enjoy alone, with friends or family. Also, you can find different attractions like the giant wheel, to play beach volley, to rest in the beach or in the gardens. You can take a walk from Glenelg to Brighton

Glenelg is like st kilda of Melbourne but better in my opinion. Great places to eat and the beaches are beautiful with crystal clear water. We had a great time there. The Glenelg beach is 5 min walk to town centre of Glenelg.

Glenelg beach is one of the most popular beaches in Adelaide, it was known as “Holdfast Bay” and was the first landing site for English colonists in Adelaide in 1830’s. Beautiful sunsets, white sand, good crowd, Ferris wheel it has it all. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Adelaide.

Absolutely beautiful. I'm from the Gold Coast and this place is much nicer in my opinion Can't wait to go back and it's so close to the airport as well. There is waterslides, gaming parlour, great food, great walk/bike ride/scooter ride. There's even a cafe with sit down tables on the beach itself! Well done Adelaide, you should be very proud of this spot

Lovely beach area. Lots of space for people to do recreational activities. Great jetty to watch the sun setting over the ocean. There are a lot of shops that are touristy like boba, icecream, coffee, fish and chips but still a pleasant place.

Accessible by tram and last stop is at the beach front. Plenty of shops in the area with variety of food and drinks to offer. There was an entertainer near the ferris wheel during our visit—lovely to watch after the sunset and on our way to check out the shops. Plenty of people at that time as the weather was warm.

Glenelg was beautiful, clean, spacious really good vibes. As you approach, there's a gigantic ferris wheel, a beautiful jetty and lively beach club with music and striped blue umbrellas. Walk a little more and there are volleyball nets where you can play with friends. There are cute shops a short walk away and the main street has two rows of shops you can walk along and explore. I heard Brighton is better but definitely glad I checked this out too

We love going to Glenelg, so close to the city & lots of shops around. We visited on Saturday for the Holden Car Enthusiasts show & enjoyed browsing thru hundreds of cars on display. The Glenel ferris wheel is an icon & relaxing to walk on the shore with bubble tea or ice cream from the nearby shops.

  • 4/5 Haresh N. 11 months ago on Google
My daughter loves going there again and again. She loves playing in rides, and in sand of course. Heaps of restaurants, ice cream parlours, fast food corners.. It's hard to find parking but you can always catch a tram from the city. I'm not mentioning water here because there are more beautiful beaches further away from the city if you can travel and have enough time. This one is one of the attractions of Adelaide.

Glenelg does enough to have a great vibe. Is it the best beach in Adelaide? No. But for what it is, it is excellent. A bit of shopping, a bit of food and drinks, and often events like volleyball tournaments. There's always some colour at Glenelg to keep an eye out for. The new kids playgrounds are excellent and popular.

  • 5/5 Arun K. 10 months ago on Google
One of these most popular beaches in Adelaide. Easy connectivity via Tram & Bus. And lots of free & paid Car parking as well. The vibe here is just amazing, even when there aren't many people around. Music plays around the area which adds to the vibe here.

Must visit locale when in Adelaide. Easily the most touristic of Adelaide's beaches it is very family oriented with excellent play facilities for kids and plenty of dining and shopping opportunities for adults. Possibly most famous for its jetty, Glenelg is easily accessible by tram from the city. Recommended also for glorious gulf sunsets.

  • 4/5 Johnathon F. 3 years ago on Google
I would give it five stars but I feel they are just over cramping the Bay (Glenelg Beach) for absolutely no reason. Why aim to cram so many things and people into such targeted areas of the Bay when we have so much of Glenelg to enjoy? I'll tell you why, because nobody wants to walk any more. So if it isn't within five minutes walk of the tram stops it isn't worth building up in the eyes of many

  • 4/5 Dean K. 5 months ago on Google
Busy enclave with some good restaurants, bars and places to eat. The beach itself reminds me of English beaches only with sand in places of stones. Wind picked up a little so was a bit chilly around sunset, but great vibe around with volleyball being played and the sunset.

I went there by tram, take the Glenelg tram. Around 30 minutes. It was beautiful and definitely worth a visit as a tourist destination and family destination. The most tourist beach of Adelaide. Offers plenty of entertainment in the summer and winter. Lots of restaurants and a nice path to walk all the way to Brighton.
