Stumbled across WOO and so glad I did. Phenomenal food that you really can’t get around this area usually. I got two sides, mac and cheese and cabbage and Kale, along with the Catfish Po Boy and it SMACKED.

It is kind of nice when you have grown up with the owners of West of Orleans. The conversations was good and the food was great. I live in Arizona, but deliberately made a detour in my trip to eat some of the best food anywhere. This experience for me was like having a home cooked meal (Blackened Catfish, Shrimp & Rice) and believe me I can be very critical of restaurants foods, plus determine excellent services etiquette. The only problem that I encountered was that West of Orleans is 427 miles from my 4117 address in Arizona! 👀😋🤪

Excellent place for Cajun food! Friendly people, very good blends of flavors. Prices and portions are reasonable. If you want something different, I highly recommend them, they are a true treasure for Newbury Park.

Super food, great people. Only 4* because they're closed 3 days of the week and those seem to be the days we want to eat there. The brisket is amazing. Also love the jambalaya.

Consider yourself blessed if you ever drive or walk by their smoker sitting outside while they’re using it. It smells so good you’ll want to pull over immediately. The Po Boys are amazing

Such a hidden gem that I recently discovered not only makes delicious food, but is owned by one of the nicest couples you'll ever meet. Chef Marcus and his wife are truly sharing their passion for making delicious food. Hubs and I were offered free samples of their jerk chicken wings while waiting for our order...which BTW...were incredible! But I was here for the Shrimp Po' Boy on grilled French bread, and it didn't disappoint. In fact I couldn't decide between the fried or sautéed shrimp so they made mine with both! What a delectable sandwich that was so big I could only eat half. And the homemade potato chips were also very tasty. Be sure to try the Cabbage and Kale Saute and Red Beans Rice...both I can honestly say are as good as it gets. Hubs got the Soft Shell Po' Boy and said it was "freaking amazing" lol. Please try this restaurant, on repeat, and keep them in mind when you are planning your next event, as they do a lot of catering too.

This food is consistently delicious and flavorful. It's the best Cajun cuisine that's 'west' of Orleans! The meats are all high quality and smoked superbly. We've tried a variety of side dishes and enjoyed them all. I can't wait to have their take out again.

If I could rate 10 stars I would! They are extremely west of New Orleans lol, however the food, the flavor, their menu was absolutely legit and full of flavor! I called after my first bite and expressed how amazing their food was! Highly recommend! I couldn't choose what to eat, so I got both the Seafood gumbo and the Seafood jumbalaya, with collard greens, corn bread, which by the way was amazing with their honey butter, and they threw in a small thing of Mac and cheese...literally enough for it to be a tease! Will definitely be going back while I'm here in Ventura!!! Outstanding job to the owner and his wife!

Place is always the best, everything they make is awesome, po boys brisket tri tip , jerk chicken, ribs, shrimp, sides, gumbo.... One of, if not the best restaurant in the area... If that's not enough Chef Marcus and his fam are the nicest ever...

"We had dinner at 10pm and it was easy to get a booth - both intimate and atmospheric, with booths and high ceilings creating the perfect balance. Our waiter was amazing - career waiters who just know what they are doing! The sourdough bread was amazing to start with. My spinach and ricotta tortellini was a small serving but with amazing butter and sage flavor. Rod had a huge helping of spaghetti and meatballs. We opted for a desert cheesecake that was apparently a revealing recipe from Sinatra's moms! We liked it! I recommend this to friends who come to La"

I found West of Orleans shortly after moving to this community. I no longer eat a lot of carbs so I haven’t been there as much as I would like. But I enjoy their food. When it came time to plan a loved one’s homegoing (funeral and repass), I knew that I wanted the day to feel special. I can’t cook that well. My go to restaurants didn’t seem worthy. I knew it had to soul food. I told the owner our guest count. He presented a proposal that was within my budget. We got trays and trays of food. People stopped me to pay their respects, and get the name of the caterer. Should’ve brought business cards. We had so much food that we were able to donate some. My personal favorites are: catfish, mac and cheese, and cornbread with the gourmet butter mix. Yum.

I've been coming here for a the last couple of years and have never been disappointed - the food is simply amazing. Today I had the fried chicken poboy for the first time and it blew my mind. I don't really write reviews but I had to come online and share the love. Outstanding.

We drove from LA to get this food and it was worth the traffic. We had the seafood etouffee and the fried shrimp. It was so delicious. I'm telling everyone they need to go get some.

Though it's takeout only which had me skeptical. This was the first time ever ordering and, I will admit the food is amazing and definitely worth it. Had the seafood etouffee and tri tip which were delicious. I will be ordering more before I leave the area.
