Lovely place for a wholesome meal with lively people over a drink perhaps, loved Theo chicken schnitzel while it was one of the cheaper meals it was insanely good warm, flavorful, generously portioned. People were also very nice. All in all even though a bit pricey it was worth considering the venue and atmosphere and quality

Venue is comfortable and presented nicely. Menu selection is fairly standard. Few items on menu were unavailable. Overall food was good. -1 Attention to details. Service could be better. Mostly young (inexperienced?) staff. Basic oversights like bringing out entrees with mains, drinks missing garnish, table not cleared for dessert.

We had an okay feed here. The menu and location were excellent .

The beer garden is fantastic here in spring/summer. We had a great time catching up with family, getting some sun, being comfy, watching the kids run around and have a drink or two. A relaxed atmosphere. Then we went inside for dinner, a wide range and a few good vegan options. The main downside to the food was the tofu was a bit lackluster, but the rest of the meal devine. Recommend this spot for a catch up with friends or family

I enjoyed lunch yesterday with friends and was pleasantly surprised at the modern food on the menu. Lots of dairy free, gluten-free, vegan options and knowledgeable staff checked and got back to us on specific dietary requirements they were unsure of. I enjoyed the Atlantic salmon (pictured) and it was a quality dish of beautiful flavours. Unfortunately some of the deserts on the menu (that sounded so good!) were popular & they had sold out.

I love it great atmosphere the staff hand good energy and great banter. Plenty of parking so no need to stress. The place is definitely worth visiting. Now let's talk food everything was on point hot full of flavour and left us wanting more so that's exactly what we did ordered more.

We met a friend there who had booked in restaurant out the back (Atrium). Food & service excellent, included a photo of my main & G&T. Lots of drink choices from the bar. Dessert/cake delicious too! 😉👍

I feel the Ed is trading on past reputation of good food & service. Very disappointed yesterday ... arancini balls ...have had better from frozen section of Woolies. We were then served our main course when we were halfway through our entrees... the chicken main dish was dry chicken served in a salad which by the time it was returned & then presented again was soggy. The friand for dessert was dry & really dense. Very disappointed.

Hands down one of the best Thai Salad I've ever had - I hate chicken breast, but somehow their chicken breast is soo good, not even oily, the dressings and spices made it super nice. Good customer service and lovely place ♥️ Love this place!

Really nice location to eat… service ok… food lacklustre, portions small even for share plates. Lamb meatballs rock solid and shouldn’t really have been served, squid meant to be grilled but completely pale with no char at all and for the price?? The salmon in the salmon special was good but served with a coleslaw that is just veg and mayo, like so much mayo and nothing else— seemed lazy. maybe their traditional pub food is better.

A big thank you to all the staff at The Ed. We had a booking of 20+ people and the meals were great and came out close together and well cooked, despite the wide variety of meals ordered which is not easy to do, let alone with other large and smaller bookings at the same time. The service provided was equal to the above and they were very accommodating to our needs and wishes. Thank you for putting the great finishing touches to our special occasion. We'll be back. Dennis

NOT DOG FRIENDLY. Took my partner and my pooch into the beer garden for a meal on a very quiet Saturday evening. My dog is totally docile and anyway there hardly anyone there for her to bother. Anyway the “manager” came to inform us of the new “no dog rule”. Oh and no room for discretion either. Totally lame.

Busy pub but food is lacking. Ordered a beef schnitzel and a chicken schnitzel came out. Staff was confused but fixed the issue after 10 minutes. Beef schnitzel was not good. Super dry and sad. Chips very salty. Please get new chefs. This place isn't good. Wagyu beef burger. Horribly dry and disappointing. I wouldn't go again.

Will not be going back to The Edinburgh Hotel. We booked for a special family occasion two weeks ago for last Sunday (Fathers Day) at 1pm. The day before they moved our booking to 1:30 via email rather than text or calling us so upon arrival we were unaware of our changed booking time. The staff were snappy about us being early despite our large (18 people) booking having been insufficiently informed less than 24 hours prior of the change. This was then followed by refusal to serve half our table until 1:30pm despite half having ordered already at the register as we were seated in what was apparently a "table-service" zone despite people having to walk past us to get to the register... We then proceeded to witness their extremely unprofessional manager yell at the staff member who served us. This is a toxic work environment and no hospitality worker deserved to be abused by their boss. The food was below average and over priced. They refused to make minor modifications for dietary requirements (just asked for chips instead of mash and veg to go on the side of a $40 steak!) Their gluten free menu is essentially non existent. They proceeded to sporadically bring out incorrect meals and multiple double ups, which the younger staff apologised for. Throughout this whole interaction the middle-aged blonde manager was profoundly rude towards us and never once apologised for the poor service and unorganised manner in which she ran the restaurant. After we all paid and double checked our order my husband then gets multiple phone-calls today about an unpaid bill... they have charged us for the double ups which we did not order and are refusing to discuss this with us. The bar-staff and beer was the best thing there. Not that we are going to go back after our experience but I'd need a lot more beer to get through it. Do not go there if you want a nice time with your family or a happy celebration. And if you are the owner, seriously fire your abusive manager your staff and customers deserve better.

Not bad food, front bar always has good value deals. Though the food is ok, there's certainly better pub options around. Their roasts are always very average to bad, the roast meat when I've been there has always been way over cooked, dry and chewy.

Went on Thursday night for my partners birthday with his family it was amazing. The restaurant was quite busy but everything about my experience was amazinf. The staff were very attentive and patient. Our table had a couple of requests, one extra seat and the birthday doughnuts, and the staff quickly sorted it out. They made the night very amazing for the whole table. The food was brilliant too, came out fairly quickly, kids' food came out first, which was good, the kids menu even had a few activities which kept her very preoccupied. The portions of the food were amazing with all of us leaving full and satisfied. Our dishes and glasses were cleaned every time we had finished with them, the staff offered multiple rounds of drinks and ensured that we were satisfied throughout the night. Would highly recommend

Cosy and comfortable, no horrendous loud music to interrupt your conversation. Perfect atmosphere in all areas with lovely service. Didn't rate the food as we didn't have any. Only there for drinks.

Poor poor poor. Not often do I have a visceral reaction to service but today I have had the displeasure of dealing with the manager at this average establishment. When calling the venue this afternoon the staff didn’t know of the oyster and wine offer, they proceeded to ask after this to confirm. Once confirmed we booked a table. At arrival we were greeted to a smelly common room (stinking of cigarette) when asking the staff about the offer she proceeded to say she didn’t know either. She confirmed it was a bar only offer and we could order from the bar. When we went over to the bar the staff still didn’t know of the offer and couldn’t provide it. My mother who was so looking forward to this offer had given up at this point after 3 people didn’t know about the offer. When I asked to speak to the venue manager she was super dismissive and made it seem like this wasn’t an issue. When I tried to explain that this was the third staff we had spoken to she got her attitude up and rolled her eyes at me. The proceeded to tell me to watch the way I spoke. This is not the way customer service is provided. Stay away from this place!!! As the manger is an arrogant and condescending with very little people skills. I had to deescalate the situation myself rather than turning it into a confrontation.

The food was delicious, the service was good, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The restaurant is decorated in a traditional style, and there is a lovely garden that is perfect for dining al fresco. It’s a reliable local haunt and worth seeking out for a solid sophisticated pub experience.

Unfortunately, not a great experience for me this time around. I waited over 5 minutes for a staff member to acknowledge me as I waited to be seated. I had to approach staff to ask. Many staff walked past me during this time and just ignored me. I had to go and order my own drink from the bar as the waitress did not come to my table within the first 10 minutes of me sitting there. My friend who arrived just after me had to do the same. My meal was below average. The prices at the Ed are expensive, so I expected a lot more! The prawns were over-cooked and there was no seasoning in the dish. The pasta was way too oily. The portion size was fine. The waitress was pleasant, when she was attentive. Sadly, not a great experience and not worth the expense. High quality restaurant pricing for an average to below average meal.

Great venue. Food was good. Especially the lamb dish. Could be a little better for the price but really quite acceptable.

Always great, staff friendly and the food fresh and tasty especially great in the summer months when you can sit outside in the beautiful gardens.

What a great pub the Ed is. Front bar, back bar, beer garden and restaurant they are all good. The only slight criticism was the food. I ordered a beef schnitzel and received a chicken one and the chips were anaemic and cold. Otherwise great night playing cards and drinking beers in the front bar.

Best chicken parmi I have ever had! 😊 We had a family get-together and the guy who looked after us did a great job, keeping up with drinks etc. Excellent service. Also really lovely outlook onto trees - so relaxing and pleasant. Got noisy with music at 3 pm, but we were leaving then anyway.

Service and Surrounds. Excellent. Our private room was well looked after the staff kept up with food and drinks. Even though the hotel was extremely busy. Great job and well done all staff. The food was delicious and generous serves. Must return to have a better look at the other area's.

Met an old work colleague there for dinner. Had to book as it is very popular. Friendly staff processed our orders fast. Food arrived beautifully presented and tasted great!

Lunch dates done well! This was from last weekend, lunching with Dad. Their food is of great standard but didn't give the visit 5 stars as their bread didn't seem fresh, although the rest was quite tasty. If visiting The Ed I would definitely recommend the salads they have on offer for a plate of fresh and tasty food that doesn't leave your mouth dry. Always nice to see a place like this still thriving to this day, always seems to be the place to go when out and about with my fam! Keep the cold beers on tap running please 🍻

Being fodmap friendly got a shock they had no fish left even though I would have had to have grilled fish . So my friend and I had to fine something else. So decided on the Chicken with rice and other things. Well no reaction next day . So really happy. Service could have been better. Took a long time when we ordered to come to the table. Took a long time to take our order

Every thing is a hassle for their staff, not all. but a lot of them always seem upset when ordering drinks or food. They make you feel like your a problem for ordering anything. Gave us a menu, then when we tried to order they said none of the items were available. Only the specials were available! So why give us a menu that’s unavailable and ask us to order from it! Just say you only have four specials to pick from.

Fantastic food. Our steaks were like cutting through butter. The kangaroo steak was the same and was told it was delish by our dinner guest. Squid was tender and tasty. Service was spot on. Rally nice venue with great garden dining. Very social

Have come here for a long time now, the venue itself is beautiful, definitely recommend sitting outside. The food is always good and all the staff are so lovely and look like they genuinely enjoy their job which makes the whole experience even better. If you haven’t been here before, I’d recommend it, but book because everyone who does come here keeps coming back and it gets quite busy.

Very poor customer service… I went with my family for my brother in laws bday. We waited over an hour and a half for our meals.. when the food finally come out they had gotten 3 of the meals completely wrong. I’ve never been so appalled.. for the prices we paid for our meals and the service we received it was not worth it at all. I also ordered a cocktail i had been waiting over 20 minutes for it.. so I decided to go up and find out what was going on and they had just completely forgotten about my order… no real apology. this is one of the worst places I’ve ever experienced I’m happy to say I will never be coming here again.

Great food and an excellent range of beers, wines and cocktails. The restaurant is supported by a very friendly and welcoming team who all provide great customer service. Thank you The Edinburgh Hotel!

Outstanding staff, menu choices and venue. We were inside and it was a perfect temperature (not too hot not too cold). There were always staff to take drink orders so we were never waiting long. The meals came out in a timely manner and all of us loved the meals we chose (around 15 of us). My young son even spilt my full glad of red and a staff member brought me out a new one free of charge. They truly went above and beyond. I’ll be recommending the venue to others.

Lovely atmosphere, nice food, a little on the pricey side for pub food though. Great, friendly service. What lets this place down is their dietary options. Gluten free options are quite limited and not available with the standard pub meals only the more restaurant style menu. Dairy free is even more limited.

  • 4/5 Brad C. 1 year ago on Google
Pretty decent establishment. Food prices are average the drink prices are very similar to a lot of other places. Sitting in the beer garden on a nice day is great the atmosphere when it gets busy is good. I would recommend for a drink but the food could be better.

This place is massive but also friendly and welcoming. I think it's been renovated recently and it looks like it would be a lovely place to go in summer. The food was good too (I had a chicken parmi) and there is an extensive wine list

The Edinburgh hotel was really outstanding,I say this as we attended a function(Wake) at the hotel,it was a credit to the staff as nothing was ever to much trouble.
