I
went
to
Garden
Grove
Kia
originally
to
go
get
my
oil
changed
and
tire
rotation
done
for
my
2021
Kia
Forte
GT-Line
(Leased),
because
the
sticker
that
they
had
put
on
the
top
left
part
of
my
windshield
was
approaching
the
number
that
required
the
car
to
be
turned
in
(32,052).
When
I
went
inside
to
be
helped
by
Christian,
he
told
me
I
NEEDED
to
get
some
extra
services
done
to
my
car
since
I
was
past
due
for
my
30,000
mile
scheduled
maintenance
which
didn’t
pop
up
on
my
dashboard;
when
it
normally
reminds
me
when
I
need
a
service
done.
I
was
stunned
because
I
had
no
idea
but
he
had
told
me
that
I
needed
my
Air
Filter
changed,
Oil
change
and
tire
rotation;
which
he
said
was
$1,300.
I
had
to
remind
him
that
I
had
bought
the
service
plan
which
covers
ALL
oil
changes
and
tire
rotations.
After
I
had
reminded
him,
he
apologized
and
said
that
my
total
would
be
reduced
to
$1,169.31.
Hearing
that
I
needed
this
costly
service
done
and
it
wasn’t
in
my
lease
that
I
had
to
pay
anything
for
Kia’s
services,
I
had
called
my
Grandmother
who
leased
the
car
in
her
name
to
inform
her
about
what
Christian
had
told
me…immediately
asked
to
speak
to
him.
When
he
talked
to
my
grandmother
he
had
informed
her
that,
“Kia
has
a
Class-Action
Lawsuit
against
them
for
their
engines,
and
because
of
that,
we’re
requiring
for
our
customers
to
have
this
service
at
30,000
miles
or
2
Years
of
having
the
car.”
This
is
an
unjust
burden
placed
upon
the
shoulders
of
Kia
owners
due
to
their
engine
compartment
fires.
We
couldn’t
refuse
the
service,
so
we
had
to
comply.
Christian
told
me
the
services
would
take
3-4
hours.
Along
with
their
customer
service,
their
policy
only
allows
them
to
give
a
ONE-WAY
Lyft
to
anywhere
in
the
area
within
a
5
mile
radius.
They
sent
me
to
the
closest
Starbucks
which
was
on
Westminster
&
Brookhurst
(about
2.5mi
away),
which
I
walked
all
the
way
back
from
because
the
Lyft’s
were
very
expensive!
As
soon
as
I
got
back,
he
had
handed
me
the
keys
and
told
me
to
let
the
AC
run
out
for
5
minutes
with
no
explanation
why.
I
walked
over
to
my
vehicle
and
there
was
bubbles
in
the
vents,
was
puzzled
by
this
so
I
let
it
run
and
the
bubbles
went
straight
in
my
face
and
all
over
the
interior.
So
I
went
back
inside
and
asked
them
why
there’s
were
bubbles
in
my
vehicle
and
had
informed
me
that
they
weren’t
harmful
to
any
skin,
eyes,
or
any
interior
material.
While
being
on
the
phone
with
my
Grandmother
after
he
had
explained
that,
she
asked
them
what
chemicals
were
in
the
bubbles;
Christian
replied,
“No
chemicals,
it’s
just
a
deodorizer”
Which
my
Grandmother
reminded
him
that
deodorizers
are
comprised
of
chemicals.
She
asked
what
the
protocol
was
when
the
service
is
done,
he
replied,
“We
usually
let
it
run
as
we
finish
up.”
They
failed
to
do
that
even
after
them
calling
me
20
minutes
out
from
my
walk
that
the
vehicle
was
ready.
After
conversing,
Jeremy,
another
Kia
service
worker,
went
to
go
help
me
and
Christian
with
letting
the
AC
run
in
my
car.
As
soon
as
Jeremy
got
in
the
car
and
ran
the
AC
it
blew
straight
in
his
face
and
immediately
got
out
of
the
car
to
wipe
it
all
off.
They
actually
took
10
minutes
to
blow
everything
out
and
then
gave
me
the
“OK”
to
leave.
With
the
bubbles
came
with
a
newer
car
smell
that
smelled
like
a
strong
and
nasty
cologne.
Driving
home
I
had
a
headache,
my
breathing
became
shorter,
my
throat
and
nose
were
dry;
after
getting
out
of
the
car
I
felt
nauseous
and
light-headed.
Needless
to
say,
I
will
not
return
back
to
the
Kia
Service
Center
of
Garden
Grove.
