We booked this tour and showed up 15 minutes before the start JUST as they requested at their meeting place. Except they did NOT. There was a music concert going on at this location that they told us to be at. NOT one person working the venue knew of any tour meeting there because according to the security crew they were all told to cancel due to concert. Weeks ahead . This was also confirmed by the Hotel staff at one of the tour stops. We called and emailed the tour group repeatedly trying to get information with NO response from them. They were not at this meeting spot yet they emailed us the next day to tell us they were and had to do the tour without us because they could not wait for us..even though we have documented time of arrival from our Uber driver When we asked for a refund since they were not there but not received one. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WITH THIS TOUR THEY ARE A BUNCH OF FRAUDS ...LET ME REPEAT FRAUDS THAT WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!!!!! We will do everything we can to help get the word out. On every site we can. UPDATE: we have asked for a refund several times they told us to "prove that they were not there" how much proof do they need we did not know we had to take video of us leaving our Uber and asking 5 different security guards including the one that told us we could NOT loiter at the exact spot they insist they were at because it was an entrance for special ticket holders to the concert that was going on. Plus this company told us WE DID NOT PAY FOR COMMUNICATION...who runs a business but refuses to communicate with the very people paying them.?? DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING WITH THIS COMPANY they STOLE OUR MONEY

Did the Hollywood walking tour. Great tour from Damien! Highly recommended. He knows the history and is passionate about sharing it. We loved it. A very appealing walking tour and an engaging guide.

I booked The Real Hollywood Walking Tour and the Central Downtown LA Tour for the same day, which was totally worth it. Damien showed me and my wife around Hollywood in the morning and then he escorted us on the Metro (fare included) to meet Chris for the downtown tour, which includes a lunch stop. Damien did a great job of demonstrating the difference between Hollywood as visitors expect to see it and Hollywood as locals experience it. I came away with a better understanding of how Hollywood came to develop the way it did and who some of the major players were. Chris is an absolutely fabulous guide and clearly put a lot of work into his research and presentation. His enthusiasm is infectious and his stories are super engaging. Some great humor too. I particularly loved learning about Biddy Mason, one of LA's first Black female property owners. These tours are for people who want to get out in the street and taken through interesting, historic buildings, hearing real stories -- good and bad -- that illustrate how this city came into being, how it evolved over time, and what makes it a special place today.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM. THEY DON'T HAVE A PHONE YOU CAN CALL. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. We missed out first tour because they have us a terrible explanation of the location and when we went to meet them for the second tour they were not there. We aren't able to contact them and they do not want to reschedule. This is a terrible service. Don't recommend

As you'll quickly realize walking around Hollywood, there are a LOT of tours to choose from and I really feel like we lucked out in choosing the best possible option with this tour. Our guide Chris was incredibly knowledgeable and fun to talk to. He had a wealth of information, interesting stories, and gave us some great recommendations for places to check out while we were in town. I'm so glad we did this tour as one of our first activities in town, it gave us lots of context and stories to relate to as we explored more on our own. We hit all the major touristy spots you want to see, but also get some fun information and sites a little off the beaten path. Highly recommend, this was truly a highlight of our trip!

This is actually a revised review. Initially, I had given them one star due to the fact they did not return my call for several days after they stated on their voicemail that they will "try to get back to you within 48 hours". They didn't respond either with a phone call or e-mail, so I left a bad review. In hindsight, maybe I did jump the gun on that, so I will leave three stars. The details of my e-mail exchanges with this company are not important. The three stars I gave them are neutral. My experience with this company was not negative or positive, so I encourage anyone to leave an honest review of their personal experience, good, bad or otherwise.. I am in the 'otherwise' category. Maybe I judged them too harshly at first, fine. That's on me. I would point out that if you cannot respond to all of the business inquiries within 48 hours, then simply change your voicemail to "We will get back to you as soon as possible". There. That's all. Anyone would be fine with that. To Real Tours of Los Angeles, good luck on your future endeavors. To anyone reaching out to them, good luck.

Great tour! Wish we could have stayed longer at some of the sites…felt like we were rushed.

This was a great tour. We especially enjoyed the section in downtown. We saw several places that someone not in this tour would never know to see. The only complaint was that the “lunch break” was between 2:30 and 3 pm. That’s awful late for lunch.

The Hollywood Speakeasy Bar Walking Tour was so good! We're from the LA area, but wanted to try out some new places. This tour was perfect. Found a lot of spots we've never checked out. Sam, our guide, was super knowledgeable, friendly, and ready to take us everywhere. If you take the tour, ask for him!

My company recently went on the Mount Hollywood hike and the Food + History + Design walk. Both had a great time, and really enjoyed the guides. A boring concrete government building was suddenly interesting 1 stop shop for crime, packed with famous guests. The view from the hike was amazing, and everyone enjoyed getting outside.

My boyfriend and I took this tour with Stuart and we had THE most amazing time!!! We made a pitstop at this shop called Hollywood Slums and had experiences we will never forget! We were able to see parts & people of Los Angeles that we never would have without Stuart as our guide. I give this a 10/10. If we ever decide to visit LA again this tour will be at the top of our to-do list!

I took the downtown LA murder tour and it was incredible. Our guide Damien was so knowledgable about the history of each location and gave details to we'd never even heard before from some very famous murders. Highly recommend this tour if you want to learn more about the underbelly and history of the city.

Great Tour of L.A. I did the L.A in a day tour and it was a well paced and fun tour of L.A. Visited Hollywood, DTLA, and Santa Monica. Our Tour Guide Chris was the best and provided very good information and fun facts about the city. This tour is a great way to be touristy while also getting a good glimpse into the everyday L.A lifestyle. I also used this company's self guided tour of Beverly Hills , which led me through all the best locations for free. Would definetly reccomend this company for a weekend adventure or as a guide to the city while vacationing or traveling through.

Had a tour with Chris on the DTLA Murder, Mystery, Ghost Tour last night. Chris was friendly and knowledgeable about the area we toured. Very approachable with questions on details when telling tales of DTLA. Really interesting details about filming locations. Amazing to see so many locations with grim histories in a relatively small area of LA. Would recommend for anyone in the DTLA area.

We took the LA in a day tour and had the best time! We really enjoyed our tour guide Damien and getting to see so many famous sites in one day! He explained the history behind everything we saw and we would never have gotten this thorough of a background on the sites we visited if we’d been on a bus tour! Downtown LA was our favorite portion of the tour and the food market was awesome! I highly recommend this walking tour!!

We visited LA in Aug/18 and took 2 tours with The Real Los Angeles Tours - the bike tour Santa Monica (with Sylvie) and the Heart of Hollywood tour (with Damien). Both of these tours were great and I would highly recommend either (or both like we did!). Both Sylvie and Damien were informative and knowledgeable, as well as very personable and easy to talk to. The tours were casual and you were made to feel comfortable, like you were chatting with friends. We were traveling as a family of four - husband and myself, and two boys (15 and 12). We all enjoyed the tours equally, they were both great for our family. We were very happy that we found this company, the tours definitely added to the enjoyment of our short vacation.
