It
always
feels
good
to
be
here.
This
place
is
a
spiritual
retreat
place
for
Catholics
in
Bandung,
but
actually
everyone
is
welcome
here.
There
is
a
monastery
(OCD
Nuns)
and
also
St.
Maria
Fatima
Church
(under
Diocese
of
Bandung).
The
main
interests
here
are
Cave
of
Virgin
Mary
and
Via
Dolorosa.
People
come
here
to
pray
-
Or
to
escape
daily
life
hectic.
Best
time
to
visit
is
in
the
morning
and
not
on
the
weekend.
Because
Lembah
Karmel
is
located
in
Lembang
which
is
famous
for
its
traffic
congestion
due
to
many
places
of
interest
around
the
area
especially
on
weekends
or
holidays.
You
don't
have
to
be
a
Catholic
to
be
here.
However,
keep
in
mind
that
Lembah
Karmel
is
a
place
to
pray
(Note:
there
is
a
friendly
reminder
on
the
entrance
gate
from
the
nuns
about
this).
So,
instead
of
loud
chattering,
it
is
better
to
enjoy
the
fresh
air
and
take
look
at
the
surrounding
scenery.
Still
not
enough?
Please
your
palate
with
local
specialties
such
as
Sate
Mbok
Gemi
(also
known
as
Sate
Karmel
and
its
signature:
Rabbit
Satay
with
sweet
and
savory
peanut
sauce),
Bakso
Karmel
(Soft
and
crisp
meatball
-
sign
of
less
flour
used),
Roti
Karmel
(lots
of
bakery
varieties.
Try
their
Almond
Chocolate
Crisps!),
and
Cassava
Chips
(thin
and
vertically
sliced.
Resulted
in
crispy
and
longer
version
of
cassava
chips).
There
are
also
many
flower
sellers
here.
Another
note:
the
entrance
way
is
really
narrow.
Only
fit
for
a
car
and
it's
one
way.
Parking
lot
is
next
to
Pastoral
building
not
too
far
from
main
entrance.
