The chili Mac was the best I’ve ever had. It was so creamy and delicious! So savory. My husband also enjoyed his chicken pesto sandwich was was superb. The waitress was very nice and my husband liked his hot coffee and I enjoyed my cranberry juice. The vibes are very chill and you can actually hear the music without it being too loud. I loved it here. Good vibes, drinks and food, what more can you ask for.

Genuinely friendly bar staff serving up lots of good beers, and of course all kinds of other drinks. The self proclaimed comfort food is super tasty and reasonably priced. A good pub to go to with friends, family, or even alone. No pretense here, just good times.

Overall I would consider coming back. We only ordered appetizers due to the long wait. Those around us got both appetizers and their main dishes while we were still waiting (we we’re there before them). Besides that the service was great, it was a beautiful day so the back was nice to be able to sit at. Drinks were also on the ok side, even our fountain drink was watered down and tasted flat.

Seriously one of the BEST restaurants I have been to in a long time. My sister told me their Mac and cheese is famous and she was not kidding! It was seriously the best I have ever had and definitely worth trying if you haven't yet. The nachos were delicious, my sister was drooling over her bleu cheese burger and the onion rings were really good too. We wanted to eat it all but our stomachs weren't big enough so we had to take some home. I highly recommend hitting this place up for food and drinks.

Mac and cheese is good but make sure you get a lot of toppings, otherwise it's just a plain Velveeta Mac. The toppings are what make it amazing. Nachos are great!! Same thing though the more toppings the better! A little pricey but good food and the outdoor patio is a nice area to hang out.

Disclosure: I tried to reach management two times before posting this review so they could attempt to provide customer service. They did not contact me. Last time I came, I was very impressed with the mac n cheese, so I brought my friend in to experience Black Sheep. We were severely disappointed. We waited 15 minutes and weren't helped, so I went up to the counter. The server just asked where we were sitting and I told her. I watched and didn't see her say anything to the other servers and she didn't make any action to take our orders. Then another server 10 minutes later took a couples order that came in after us first. Theres the first sign of bad service. I had to get up and ask the server to ask to take our order next. We waited 20 minutes for food that didn't taste as good as I remembered and my friend wasn't impressed either. Then we waited another 30 minutes for our check. It never came. I got up and personally handed the server $50. She said "I'm sorry do you want any change?" I felt like saying ya I'd like the $50 back. Long wait. Mediocre, overpriced Mac n cheese. Terrible service. ON A MONDAY!

It's okay as far as pubs go. It's a bit cluttered in the back. Not what I remember from the before times. I got the ABC and it was okay. I did think the balsamic for the salad was nice.

Nice looking old brick & wood small downtown bar. I had the chili, nachos, and veggie wrap. It all looked good but the flavor disappoints. Service is good, a tv at both ends for sports, too noisy for conversation without yelling. Paid street parking. There are better choices nearby.

Went here with my wife because of the good reviews. We weren’t disappointed. A lovely bar with great atmosphere and a really warm welcome. Love the way they have done the place. Ordered the jalapeño bacon burger with blue cheese and fries. Wow! Probably never had a better burger! My wife had the fish tacos and they were amazing too. Definitely a great bar and highly recommended!

Great bar with good food. My wife's sweet potato fries were perfect, our burgers were good, and the service was fantastic. I was also struck by the fine details on the wooden bar.

I gave this 5 stars because it goes above what is expected of pub food. Great salads, burgers and Mac and cheese. Literally choose any toppings you want to grace this dairy laden gooey cheese deliciousness! Number of beers and seltzers by the bottle or on tap and great cocktails! Friendly bar staff that's always welcoming! Patio in the back which is perfect for summer days! Dip in and grab a pint or a bite to eat and this may also become one of your favorite haunts!

This place is lovely. Has a beautiful bar right when you walk in. Then, as you head out the back, there is a quaint little patio you can sit and eat on. They have TVs and patio lights to give it a cool atmosphere and dogs are always welcome!

Nicole is amazing! She remembered me from another time & place. Very attentive to a lot of guests, all at once! Great beer selection! Beautiful woodwork!

This is a quaint little bar & grill in the middle of downtown SLO. It has such a relaxing atmosphere. I feel like I'm sitting in a pub in England! Which I love to do when there. The food is great and the service is fantastic! I highly recommend this bar & grill. Will be back!

Love Black Sheep. My British friends say it’s the closest we have in SLO to a proper English pub. I agree. Nice beer selection, including Guinness on tap, and excellent food — especially their Mac and Cheese. The bar and wait staff are very friendly and the patrons are a nice mix. They have indoor and outdoor seating suitable for any time of the year.

Nice cozy place with good service. They had patio seating and indoor. We were cold, so the heater inside felt just right. Food was tasty and fair prices.

Food is SO BOMB! A la carte Mac is large and shareable. The bartender Jodie today was great. She was running the whole place by herself.

This place has the best Mac and cheese I've ever eaten. Their portions are huge and decently priced. Can't wait to go back again!

So the reason for my 1 star rating would be how the original price of my meal was changed 2 days later and I was charged an extra $10 out of my account. When I originally went to the restaurant the food and service was good and the price of the meal was a reasonable price that I paid for that day off. But then 2 days later I get charged extra and I call to find out why yet no one answers. I want my money back that I didn’t agree to give you guys.

The Black Sheep is good. The Black Sheep Cadillac drink taste harder than the Caribbean pain killer. Yall have great customer service. Thanks for the good time.

Too loud for me. When I ate here several months ago it took about an hour to get our food. After 9 pm don't come here to eat. I hear there's a nice patio out back though.

Black sheep has great bar food. Everything I've had there is just excellent. The girls that work there are nice and friendly. The place is a bit dingy but the food and service make up for it

Decent drinks and bar food when we were here but the service was really slow. Probably waited 15 mins to order our drinks then another 15 mins before we could order any bar food. We almost had to walk up to the bar to order since our server never really came back… We were sitting in the back and they seemed understaffed so I don’t want to be rude but maybe your visit will be different.

Such character inside! The bar and all the woodwork was gorgeous, it's super clean, has an amazing atmosphere and the staff was absolutely fantastic! The food was to die for; large portions, super fresh and totally yummy. If you order the half order of nachos, bring your appetite or a friend cuz it was a humongous portion towering on a plate...and watch out for the jalapeños cuz they pack a kick.

Great spot with 2 patios, the back is more secluded with large tables for socializing and turns into a nice hangout area at night. Really nice lunch spot in the day, with that edgy / dive ish bar feel where Jameson flows. They have a nice cocktail list and willing to make mocktails as well as other n/a drinks. The food is always solid, large portions and some signature comfort food you will only semi regret eating after. They have wifi, some tvs for games / shows, and very much a bar bar at night. I always enjoy the staff and consistently in the kitchen.
