āš ļøAVOID Emergency Room AT ALL COSTSā€¼ļøāš ļø June 2023āš ļø Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had in the medical field! I am an educated woman with a masters degree. The staff in the Plainview ER were extremely unprofessional, argumentative, rude, and disrespectful. The verbiage and tone used by nurses and physician assistants was horrific. Multiple staff lacked empathy and compassion not only for me but other sick patients entering the ER. I was in the ER for 5 hours, had a cat scan (waited 4 hours to get the scan), NEVER saw a doctor, and had a nurse that was so overworked that he never returned from 9am until I left at 2:30pm. I was refused discharge papers, had to take out my IV, and was prescribed not one but two antibiotics that were penicillin based. I had a red allergy bracelet on my left arm. I am allergic to penicillin and expressed this multiple times. After leaving, I called and asked to speak to the manager of the ER. A young girl told me she was the manager and was one of the 3 professionals sitting behind the nurses station when I left. She claimed to have witnessed all that had transpired. She refused to give me her name by stating, ā€œI donā€™t have to tell you my name!ā€ ā€¦ And then she told me off. I have never been so disrespected by a professional staff in my life. I was nothing less than respectful and kind from the moment I stepped foot into this ER. āœ“ļøOur medical field is in some serious trouble!! āœ“ļøDo not send your loved ones here!!!!!

I brought my wife there because she was in immense pain, she almost couldnā€™t even speak. Waited for two hours between 12am-2am, didnā€™t see a single doctor. Our nurse was skilled, kind, and apologetic. But we walked out and no one else except him seemed to care. If only the people responsible for approving the renovations to just the facade of the hospital allocated those funds to improving the equipment, hiring and training more staff, and making the inside not look like a hell holeā€¦

āš ļøAVOID Emergency Room AT ALL COSTSā€¼ļøāš ļø Jan 2024āš ļø IF YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY GO SOMEWHERE ELSE Arrived into ER at Midnight, my wife was in severe abdominal pain. Saw the Triage Nurse Brian fairly quickly (Thank you Brain). We waited til about 2am in waiting room to get into an Exam Room. At 2am, i went to the nurses desk and asked about a Dr. They said there was only 1 Dr and he was busy with other patients. I walked around several times to all the other Exam/Trauma rooms which were half empty. I did not see a Dr. I guess the head nurse got annoyed I was walking around and came to the Exam Room at 4:45am. My wife explained her situation and the nurse responded "its gonna be a while the Dr is with other patients". At 5am, a person came in to take vitals and the pain medication that my wife took at home started to wear off and my wife asked him for Advil or Tylenol he said he would mention to the nurse. At 6am my wife and I walked out never saw the nurse again, never saw a doctor. It looks like THERE IS NO DOCTOR ONSITE BETWEEN MIDNIGHT and 8AM at this hospital. Nurses desk staff rude, unprofessional and patient care is NOT their priority. I have been to this hospital before in the past 25 yrs that I have been living in the area and I'm not sure if its a change in companies that own the hospital or management at the hospital but compared to just the last 2 years, the quality of nurses and even support staff has drastically declined

The only reason why Iā€™m giving this review 1 star is because I canā€™t give it 0 stars. I had a very negative and disappointing experience here at Plainview Hospital. My son, who is roughly 8 years old had been vomiting and experiencing pain in his throat since around 11 a.m, he had thrown up about 20 times. So we took him to this hospital not knowing that our visit would just be a waste of time. We came to the ER at around 9:30 p.m, they had us wait in the waiting room until 12 a.m, around 3 hours. We then waited in ward T3 for two hours to get any form of treatment but we werenā€™t given any. The nurse that was supposed to be assisting us was also very rude, she was an RN by the name of Amanda. It was around 2 a.m that we decided to leave without any treatment and we didnā€™t receive any discharge papers either, we were told that we would only receive them if we went with the medical plan which would be to wait a couple more hours for some treatment. I decided to give my son some over-the counter nausea relief medication and hopefully it works. But please AVOID this hospital at all costs, itā€™s one of the worst hospitals Iā€™ve been to.

COVID ICU HORROR FLOOR!!! Never ever think of taking your covid loved one here. They will just die they are NOT equipped on taking covid ill patients not only that ā€œthey (doctors and nurses walk around untouchable) they yell at patients that are dying donā€™t help them they NEGLECT them. Cold hearted people. And guess what they are getting away with it. Save yourself and go to A DIFFERENT HOSPITAL. My husband Peter Libardi died under their care they DENIED HIM EVERYTHING!!!!!! Very healthy full of life lived his life to the fullest had many business he left 8 children behind. We are all so HEARTBROKEN. They go to their home all good right? Thatā€™s nice while they go to work doing nothing to save these covid patients. Please do not take your covid loved one here.

Forced to give at least one star. Went to Emergency room after getting hurt on my job. The doctor there, Attia Husain, is an awful doctor!!!! Not only did she dismiss my injury as simply, "You fell. You're going to be in pain." She blatantly refused to fill out the paper work my employer sent with me. Telling me I can certainly work even after I told her my job is VERY physical. She then said she will fill in one side of the forms. I never even looked at what she put down, never occurring to me that THIS WITCH DOCTOR PUT DOWN I CAN RETURN TO WORK THE FOLLOWING DAY! I'd really like to know how a "doctor" could be so insensitive and heartless. Not to mention it's no skin off her nose! I literally got slammed by a huge metal piece of equipment at work and that impact sent me flying to the ground. At this moment, I stayed out of work 3 days and I am in the process of needing more time out. Not only was I immobile from the initial injury I felt but by day 2 I had pain here there and everywhere. I told the doctor aside from the pain I was in, I also hit my head. She felt for a bump and that was the end of that. Well just to let you know, doctor, the next day , I had a nausea and a headache. Signs of a concussion.

Do not go here if you have Medicaid. No physical exam was performed on me (didn't listen to heart and lungs, or palpate or inspect my leg that was of concern) and Dr. Fiorenti saw me for less than 1 minute when I was there for over 4 hours. I also asked for something to drink and wasn't provided with a response. Very despicable to experience as a medical student. I am giving one star for the ultrasound tech that provided me with a great experience. Everyone else I came across in the ER provided substandard care. To add, I shared a room with someone who spent ample time with her physician, so I was extremely disappointed to be treated differently in the open from other patients

I could give zero stars to this hospital, if i can.We took our toddler with a cut and they took like one hour to triage. We waited in the room for another hour. Nobody came to evrn check on us. Baby started getting impatient and started moving around in the bed. She accidentally ran out of the room, we were right after her and brought her inside. The nurse scolded us and treated very badly telling us to leave. Very unprofessional behaviour. They suck. They have no empathy. We left without being seen after 2 and half hr waiting. We went to Er at catholic health to get woumd cleaned up in 45 mins.

Disgusting. My mother in law was having a cardiac event, went to the emergency room and THEY TOLD HER TO JUST WAIT! She had clammy hands, jaw hurt, and headache and they just said wait. Thankfully my father-in-law said forget this and they left and drove straight to St. Francis hospital where they were extremely impressed. She got an EKG immediately and other tests and surgery shortly after that and saved her life. It was made known if she stayed at Plainview on the waiting room SHE WOULD HAVE DIED (we found out she had an STEMI - look it up if you donā€™t know how serious that is) If this hospital could get zero stars they would.

Iā€™m giving this hospital 5 stars all because of the nurse manager Stephanie. An amazing person. She made our stay comfortable and safe. All the staff from the security to the nurses were friendly and understanding. Issues or concerns were dealt with immediately.

Some nurses were very kind, and others were very rude. ā€” Iā€™m assuming the Northwell Health system is understaffed & underpaying them because at times it felt like pulling teeth just to receive care, ESPECIALLY during night shift. First room was claustrophobic did not feel clean. Patient was immune compromised and finally moved to private room that was a bit betterā€¦ clearly the older wings have not been updated in a while if at all. Free clinic vibe.. Visitors should come later in evening if possible, parking opened up in evening but was packed in during day. (Valet might block your car in). Visit before 11pm or you have to go around to emergency room to enter. Security guard at ER night shift also had a nasty attitude. When my family member (the patient) expressed to the doctor that he felt patronized or scolded by the way he was spoken to, rather than apologizing for any misinterpretation or miscommunication, the doctor just got defensive & attempted to gaslight the patient. Only after being called out by the patientā€™s visitor for such an inappropriate response did the doctor refer a ā€œpatient experience specialistā€ to try and fix things. Patient will never be returning here.

I was brought in this past Friday by ambulance having a asthma attack. I had also thrown up blood and was experiencing serious tremors. For some reason why one of your nurses could not see past the fact that yes I was in rehab 9 months ago, and kept insisting that I was experiencing a drug overdose. The whole time that I was there she was nothing but rude and treated me as if I was less than human because of my past. After a few hours of minor medical treatment (nebulizer, oxygen and a CT scan she walked in insisted that I take a drug test. When I told her that I couldn't since I had no fluids and I was refused water. She stormed out. Returned 5 minutes later telling me that she was discharging me. Took an hour for somebody to remove the IV leaving me bruised and bleeding. Yeah a little bandage that I soaked through in 2 minutes and aother 45 minutes before she just shoved a folder at me and told me to see a pulmonologist exit is that way. This used to be one of the better hospitals but it seems like since they updated the outside the seemed to loose sight on the inside. Yet another local hospital for me to avoid .

I went to the hospital for a procedure that was out patient and it got scary in the OR. I had to stay over night for observation. The staff was beautiful, everyone was kind and very helpful. The food was pretty good aswell. The nurses, nurse assistants and doctors were attentive and caring.

I witnessed the front desk security being rude and insensitive to a woman whose relative was in the ICU. He screamed back at her when she complained. The security strongly needs more training in how to deal with people under stressful conditions. It was totally unprofessional and uncalled for. Mr. Eric Becker, director of security, should be very ashamed of his staff and himself for letting this type of incident happen. Is this the way Plainview/Northwell wants to be presented to the public?

Worse experience ever. I don't know if the people giving this hospital 5 stars went to the same one I did because plainview hospital emergency room is the worse. The staff is very rude and unprofessional and my partner and I waited for over 3 hours in there before he was seeing by someone he was in so pain, it's likes they did not even care. If you love your family members and yourself don't take them there.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this hospitalā€™s emergency room. After coming in from pathetic St. Josephs ER nearby, we were treated with respect and attentiveness. Our nurse went above and beyond and was so caring. It was as quick of an experience as you could hope for in an ER but they kept my husband comfortable while we waited. Northwell should be proud of their team here!

I've been to worse hospitals I'll say that. It was a clean safe facility. Wait times were longer than I'm used to and I felt sometimes not kept in the loop but it wasn't extreme. The first doctor I had asked me very few questions, cut me off, and dismissed my concerns. The second doctor after the shift change was very different. Phlebotomy was great. All but one of the nurses were good. One of the transport staff accidentally smashed my wheelchair into the wall in the elevator but it was due to carelessness even though unintentional.

One of the worst hospital in LI. Nurses are busy reading on the computer and spend most of the time doing that They donā€™t have time to assess the patients and once they give out medicine they are gone . There is no team work . Doctors donā€™t communicate among themselves. Neurologist donā€™t know what the Cardilogist is doing . Whatā€™s a mess! I brought my father with neumonĆa 3 times within the same month but he came out with water in his lungs ..

Recently went to the ER with my partner who had a corneal abrasion around 9pm last night and received exceptional service from the triage RN to the PA to the Doctor, everyone was pleasant, efficient, and the visit was only a little over 3 hours. Though we've moved to Suffolk County we take the short ride to Plainview Hospital because we know we'll be treated with kindness, respect, and the staff will be attentive and knowledgeable while not spending half the day there either doesn't hurt. I ALWAYS recommend this hospital for those looking for an alternative to some of longer wait/less efficient hospitals in Suffolk. ALWAYS grateful but hoping we won't be back this year!

These people are crooks. Never give your social security number or personal info to them. They bait and switch you on the cost. They said the bill was $1,300 for my daughters trip to the ER. We canā€™t afford health insurance because itā€™s too expensive. After we paid the bill, they sent additional invoices to us stating that the hospitals donā€™t pay the MDā€™s and staff, and that costs $1,500. Crooks!!!! This place should be shut down.

Very smooth experience here in the ER. From intake thru discharge they seem to have a process that works and doesnt waste much time. The facilities are in a bit of disarray and the whole place looks like its under construction. The people are really nice and I didnt get an attitude from any of them.

This is just a review for their emergency room. If I could give zero stars, I would. I can deal with the 3.5 hours it takes to even be seen by a doctor, I get that ERs are busy. But then to be brought in and literally left in a hallway from 830pm-3am is seriously unbelievable. Iā€™m not blaming the staff, they do what they can. Itā€™d be different if we were able to leave but the person I was with had to be admitted for about 24-48 hours. Expand the ER, refer people to other ERs, do something besides treating people like literal pack mules. You guys have to do better, itā€™s really cruel to treat people who have actual emergencies like this. Next time, Iā€™d rather drive like 45 mins out literally just for better care than go to this place thatā€™s literally 5 minutes away from me.

The bad news is that I spent a late Sunday night, and early Monday morning in the emergency room due to severe foot pain. My left foot was badly swollen, warm, and very sensitive to the touch, and could not put any weight on it. Then this happened. THE GOOD NEWS: Monday I was admitted and landed on 1-East Floor, room 113 by the window. The nurses and doctors and everyone I came into contact with had the best bedside manner and personalities. While on the floor but still waiting for a room I was greeted by Michele who welcomed me with a big smile, she introduced herself and told me she would probably be one of my nurses. I never saw her again because I was assigned a different room but I really appreciated her stopping what she was doing to take the time to introduce herself and make sure I was okay. Both Dr. Johari and Dr. Feldhamer were top-notch medical professionals. They were both affable, patient, and compassionate, and their accurate diagnosis sped up the healing process. I received care from the best crew of Registered Nurses and Patient Care Assistants throughout my three days there as well. It is crucial to me that I specifically name a few of these kindhearted individuals and dedicated workers: Heather, Treavond, Patty, Ariyanna, Claire, Megan, Sofia, Tiffany, and Yejin. I know there have to be a few names I cannot recall but thank you all the staff for a tremendous effort. The healing environment that you all affect and create is medicinal on its own. Thank you all so much!!! .

I had surgery at Plainview Hospital and I must admit, the staff here are amazing! From presurgical to the last escort after surgery. Each member, lay staff to nurse, to PA, to anesthesiologist were caring, compassionate, attentive. I had experiences in other NYC hospitals and this hospital blew my mind. Thank you ALL!!! Keep up the great work!

This hospital is excellent. Iā€™ve been on several occasions for various reasons. From ER to the OR, everyone is the perfect balance of kind and professional. I have not had one negative moment here and I really appreciate that. If I ever need to go to a hospital, I wonā€™t go anywhere else. Thank you Plainview for making me feel so well taken care of.

All I can say is that being a patient at the facility exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, the Security Bob was amazing, then I met Diana to took me to pre opt, she made me so comfy and went over everything in detail. The lady who did my IV, it was the easiest and most painless of all my other experiences. Dr. David Esyler and his entire medical team was indeed excellent at both pre and post operation. The recovery team Christine and Mike, you both are certainly there for all the right reasons. Just when I thought it was done, I was transferred to W239 wing of the hospital for my overnight. I want to publicly praise and thank the following staff, Gerard, Keith, Mike, Marlon, Ann, Carol and the lovely female doctor who checked on me that night. These were the most amazing and compassionate people. Keep up and I thank God for knowing there are services available to us. I applaud each and everyone. Thank you, thank you!

This hospital and the emergency room staff are an absolute disgrace! My poor daughter who had fainted at home and came in with severe abdominal pain, was not treated as an emergency patient. The emergency room is very small with patients laying and sitting on the floor. My daughter started to lose consciousness again and passed out. I screamed for help and when 2 female staff members came to ā€œhelpā€ one whispered under her breathā€¦ ā€œyeah right she faintedā€. I asked them to please help my child who was unresponsive and they told me that there were other people ahead of her. Everyone in that waiting room seemed fine, they were all watching the price is right and having conversations. I took my daughter, placed her in a wheelchair and took her to Winthrop. What a horrible experience!!!! They should really treat patients by the type of emergency, not by a schedule. I donā€™t wish this kind of treatment on anybody, especially someoneā€™s child. Shame on them!!!

I was just trying to deliver something to a customer that works in this hospital and I'm assuming a security guard told me I can't park where was. Never been here before and the layout is a little weird and it wasn't clear that you can't park there but all he had to say I need you to mo e your vehicle but he continued to be rude and insulting so I had enough, waved him off and dismissed him. Never delivering here again! Wasn't even worth what paid for the delivery. Teach your staff a little more discipline and decorum!

I was in for five days (3West). The nurses were the best, as were the nursing assistants. Nursing assistant Evelyn and another Marie Page treated me like family with loving care. I will remember these two always. I retired from another hospital decades ago, so I know hard working women when I see them, who work with a heart of gold.
