One of my favorite coffee spots. Great service. Coffee is perfectly done every time. I moved away from Montclair but whenever I am in the area, I have to get it.. Another spot recommendation: Mendham? :-)

I have been here a few times over the last few months and my experiences have been nothing short of amazing. The coffee and coffee drinks are so tasty and strong! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the owner, Jonathan has gone above and beyond with the new shop renovations… I highly suggest you check it out if you are an aviation buff, and just in general! It is beautiful. I always look forward to my return here.

Best coffee roaster in Northern NJ as far as I know, only place around here with consistent single origin light-medium roast coffee. The "Science" section of the menu is very cool as well, all drinks have clearly been tested and developed thoroughly and are very well thought out. Always a pleasure coming here!

Was looking for a place to grab a cup of coffee and kill some time in the greater-Montclair area and decided to give this place a shot. The reviews seemed good and the pics made it seem fun and cozy. And it was all that! Go check it out yourself and you might find your new favorite coffee shop!

Super cute coffee shop! Loved the interior and vibe. The coffee was pretty good. We tried the polychrome and another drink on the Science menu that I can’t remember the name of. Loved the seating area that resembled the inside of an airplane. So cool! Staff was also very friendly. Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area. But plan to wait a little bit. Seems like it can get pretty busy and packed. Especially on a Saturday morning or early afternoon. Now for my standard COVID comments as of April 2023. No one is wearing masks. I felt comfortable in the shop but do notice that it could get crowded when waiting in line. Besides that, it was all good.

I recently visited Paper Plane Coffee and had a fantastic experience. The pour over I ordered was expertly brewed and tasted amazing. The coffee shop has a modern, lab-like feel that adds to the overall experience. The attention to detail in both the coffee and the aesthetics of the shop is impressive. I would definitely recommend Paper Plane Coffee to any coffee lover looking for a unique and delicious coffee experience. 5 stars!

This place is really awesome! My girlfriend and I have been here a couple times now and we have enjoyed it each time. She got a mocha and I got a matcha. The espresso was absolutely delicious, you can tell it is fresh. The staff was super friendly and professional, you can tell they put a lot of care and effort into the drinks. I wish there was more seating inside because the decor is so cool and cozy, we would've loved to sit in. But, of course, understandably, coffee this good and an environment so nice is bound to draw a large crowd. We'll definitely be back!

Great friendly staff and wonderful environment! Had the pleasure to come here pre-covid and loved the setup! Even during the pandemic, they have a nice way to allow you to get your coffee fix safely by ordering online and picking up at the front of the store. Overall I really enjoy the science concoctions they have! The Cold Fashioned flavor is spot on, and Butterbroo is my new favorite! Can't wait to try the others!

These are probably the most polite and well mannered people I have ever encountered in any place I ever been to. As per the coffee, I love the creative flavors. This had definitely become my favorite spot. Oh and you have to try the ham and swiss on croissant!

This place is so cool, it is located in a beautiful city, not too far from Jersey City/Hoboken, the place has good choices of coffees and not a lot about food. It has the option to seat inside or outside, outside during the summer is very nice, but inside is where the magic happens, you can be “onboarding” in a plane, and the ambiance is so cool and interesting, you literally can seat in-flight seats, have fake windows and an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend you to know the place.

Creative coffee offerings with comfortable seating and an immersive airplane theme! The cold brew drafts here are particularly unique. Try the Voodoo if you're up for a kick of strong spices and flavors. I had the hot Butterbroo, soo creamy and smooth! They have decaf options available too. We'll have to come back to try some of the cascara flavors! The bathroom was spacious, artsy, and most importantly, clean.

So happy that Montclair finally has a coffeehouse that is beyond good. Everything from the friendly faces that greet you to the inviting space just makes you want to come back. I love that the owner has a passion for coffee and he knows his stuff. Consistent great cappuccinos and lattes.

Only place I know of where you can get a 32 oz cold bro for a reasonable price. Services friendly and the atmosphere is great. Inside it actually looks like you're sitting in an airplane aisle. Each seat has an outlet for charging devices or whatever which in this modern world is great. I make it a point to at least get here once a week since I don't live in town.

(they're not different just for the sake of being different). everyone who works there is lovely and the space is very inviting to stay and work//chat//whatever. i'm addicted to their nam dams. hope to one day be able to break the cycle and try something new.

A very cool coffee spot with a few airplane seats. The menu is also a plus - special and unique, completely different from anywhere else. They do have some regular things if you mind trying mixed formulas. The barista and servers are nice and informative to explain the menu. That's why it's always crowded and packed up. I went there during the Halloween season so spooky decorations were around. Can't wait to see their next coming occasional ones.

This place is adorable! I'm a flight attendant, so the appeal is kind of obvious. But it has a sort of artsy, retro vibe set in this historical building on the corner on Montclair that just really works! I love the colorful touches everywhere, including flowers outside; and sweet cafe tables and even a water bowl for the occasional doggo customer! The menu is unique and offers international flavor that might make it hard for you to decide what to order! Haha! (Attaching images of the menu from the wall!) Of the things I've tried, the Mayan Latte is my personal fav and I'll likely get it next time! It's got some kick that's just an interesting way to start the day... or the afternoon. Never judge a flight attendant for the schedule they keep! I highly recommend a visit and if you've got a minute to just sit, the aircraft window seats are pretty cute!

One of my fav fav coffee shop or places when I am in Glen ridge/Montclair it’s super chic yet cozy .. has indoor and outdoor seating.. they make amazing latte 🤩 and have the coolest little corner for paper plane gadgets .. the highlight of this place is the plane like seating (check the pic) .. I would definitely give a visit

Found it while exploring the neighborhood. Really nice cafe, felt like complete airport friendly experience. The staff and drinks are completely outstanding. I do wanna come again for another trip and try more drinks on the weird science menu.

The staff was great. The manager (Melissa) spent so much time explaining ingredients, processes and options to us. Then she took extra care to hand wash equipment to be sure there was no gluten cross contamination (I have celiac disease). Great drink menu. Awesome seating options. Cool decor. Definitely worth the drive.

Omg , I love this place so much. It is very clean, coffee delicious. It has a ground coffee machine too . I highly recommend this place for to start your day with a coffee cup.

I'm not much of a coffee drinker but this place seriously has me reconsidering. Their fancy drinks are delicious and clever, the cold brew is a summer festival in my mouth and the staff are all awesomely hipster helpful. A delightful addition to the Montclair coffee scene.

Cute cafe hidden off of Claremont Ave. Discovered this spot while walking my dog and was pleasantly surprised. The barista was super friendly and their cold brew blend hit the spot. I’ve also tried their espresso, which was bold & fragrant. 5 stars for being welcoming & puppy friendly.

It is so clear that this location cares about their product and their customers! We came here for take-out coffee last week, and the drinks were served perfectly ice-cold (despite the intense heat outside), quickly, while following social-distancing protocols. Their drinks are delicious and creative, plus the staff was very friendly and organized. Bravo!

This is a new(er) coffee spot to the neighborhood- the vibe is beautiful and the people friendly! The designer in me LOVED the living wall + mural wall and airplane brand experiences! The 90’s kid in me- the Super Ninento corner... but I was working so didn’t get a chance to play and geek out. The latte I ordered was perfect! Complete with latte art of a heart ♥️

Was in & out for a quick espresso. The espresso was excellent - not at all bitter but light, floral, with a soft fruit aftertaste before settling into the warmer coffee tone. Seating was limited but I'll definitely return for an evening sitting with friends or for journal writing. Highly recommend.

I really enjoyed the coffee and other drinks we ordered and the staff was friendly and efficient, but it's tough for me to give a higher rating than 2 stars to any place that doesn't enforce masks, especially considering the signage saying masks are required. After we ordered, a woman walked in with no mask and was allowed to order. I know the staff probably didn't want to make a big deal about it, but it's things like this that put every other patron (and staff member) in danger. Had she walked in before we ordered and paid, we would have left and probably never returned. Based on the quality, I may revisit after the vaccine is more widespread, but until then I probably won't be back.

I've been drinking coffee in Montclair for a while now and I'm surprised I haven't noticed such a cool shop. They have fun merch and the coffee is great. I was skeptical of the voodoo coffee but it just works. Give it a shot!

Yeah this place is legit. I come here for the pour over and single origin coffee... typically don't need anything other than a pour over, but may go outside the box and try a craft espresso from their science bar selection.

I know this guy for years and he takes pride on his business and quality of his products.

I NEVER write reviews but considering i just had the best coffee i've had in a minute, possibly in my life, i had to. I went just wanting a simple latte, but after talking to the owner I was convinced to try one of his specialty drinks (I forget the name but it's the first on the list w spiced syrup). He talked abt how he made his drinks based on specific other drinks bc of his bartender experience and was super nice with suggesting what to get. A lot of coffee shops can be super pretentious with their coffees and this guy was so amazingly nice and laid back it made everything that much better. He also said if I didn't like it he would have no problem making me something else which was really nice. Anyway, the drink is absolutely amazing, not too sweet, and quite possibly the best coffee I've had.

The staff is super friendly and the science menu is great! Right now they're doing contactless ordering and service was perfect. Can't wait to return!
