This store is incredible ! It was recommended to us by a friend and we couldn’t wish for a better store and especially the team! Jim was amazing, he was super helpful, attentive and a great expert in all kinds of fish. If it wasn’t for Jim we would have probably wound up with a totally wrong kinds of fish that would have killed all other existing fish in our fish tank. We have discovered that you can’t just come to the store and buy any fish you like if you have a community fish tank. You have to really know how different fish species interact. And that’s why you need an expert like Jim. Thank you Jim and the team for helping us pick the right fish!

Extremely helpful team. I stopped in based on a recommendation of a friend and was amazed at how clean and organized the store was. My first visit Rich and Jr. helped me through a few start up questions to prep for fish. I returned a few days later with my family and Jr. helped us out again with the remaining supplies and chasing down the exact fish we pointed out. Their selection was outstanding. Everyone was relaxed and helpful. No need to shop for fish or supplies anywhere else. Shelf pricing is comparable to online and the free advice is priceless ;) Thanks guys!

Fish Hut is an awesome place. We came here last year when we thought we were serious to start a tank. Then when we weren't, we returned back yesterday. Both experiences the staff were friendly, very knowledgeable, and helps beginners like us at ease. We had purchased a 10 gallon Fluval brand tank from here. There is a showroom in Fish Hut for customers to check out their different varieties of tanks. There are also plenty of examples around the store too when you browse. Chris was a great help to us. He presented us facts about different live plants we wanted in our tank, answered our questions or comments we had. Any pH testing kits and starting our tanks he double checked with us too if we had it done to be sure all proper procedures was completed. Chris advised us if we ever needed to bring a water sample from our tank if we're ever unsure, they can help us understand it too. As you browse around each aisle, it's amazing to see all the time and work the Fish Hut staff took to write information on the outside tanks in neon markers, each aisle is grouped accordingly, and fun to walk around to see your options. As of now, we are happy with our live plants and blue and orange shrimp. Next will be snails and we'll see where it goes from there. Thank you Fish Hut staff for being terrific. All payment methods are accepted, small parking lot shared with a shopping center (just becareful when you drive in the area).

Visited from Staten Island (56 min. drive, 3 tolls), all on the recommendation from a co-worker. Store was every bit worth the drive. A very large selection of Cichlids and accessories. Store is dedicated to all things fish!! I went in to start a brand new tank from the bottom up and Lynn was instrumental in helping me build the whole tank out. She stayed cool, calm and collected as I annoyed her with my countless questions about every item she was putting together for me. I walked away very happy and pleased with my visit and purchase. Looking forward to returning after my tank’s cycle to start buying some of the beautiful peacocks they had in the store.

This place is amazing! We don’t buy our fish anywhere else! We come all the way from CT about 1 hour or more away just to get our fish and plants. The fish are healthy and beautiful, And also to mention the amazing staff! No matter when we go, they are super friendly, very helpful, and always willing to help us and answer any questions that we have. Since day one we had an amazing experience with Jr. and since then we make it a point to go and look for him specifically. But that doesn’t mean that all the other staff has not helped us at one time or another and have really been there to guide us on taking care of our fish properly. Love this store, love the fish and really love the people!

So happy I found this store! The reviews were stellar and I was wowed by the experience. Lots and lots of fish, felt like 500+ tanks. But what was so great were the guys helping us. So patient and knowledgeable. We worked mostly with Pete who had endless patience for our many questions as we upgraded from a 20 gallon to a 45 gallon. Spent last Saturday and Sunday there and excited about our new set up. Now just need to bring in the old fish and add new ones.

Wow I can’t explain the experience that I always get in fish hut. I quit the fish hobby in 2010 due to not getting good customer service in mom and pop stores. but this place has a very special someone that will always bring me a huge smile and keep me satisfied and happy when I walk in door and in his name is Johnny. He is amazing never had top of the line service like this before hands down 🙌🏼 💯 great hard worker. He gave me the excitement and joy out of making a beautiful aquarium again. Johnny will tell you what fish goes with what he we be genuine and tell you if something is not a good idea💯 If your looking for a good fish store for your aquarium. Store was super clean, the staff was super nice, and the fish looked very healthy. Jon jr was especially helpful. He showed me different medications and vitamins for my fish and even picked out the perfect flower horn for me. Really large selection of tanks are available as well. Great store overall.

Been to a ton of fish stores from MD, DC, VA and NY. This by far even being 4 hours from me - I was in shock. The variety of African Cichlids, cleanliness, and service by JON JR was absolutely the best fish store I’ve been to so far. They packed up my purchase professionally and not one single issue when I brought them home. We will definitely make the 4 hour drive again soon.

Chris and Aly were beyond helpful with plants and fish . I have a 30 gallon community fish tank and was looking for a pop of color without putting the rest of the tank mates at risk . I Was able to find a beautiful ram. The place has a vast selection , healthy fish , and very friendly and knowledgeable staff .

Went to this fish store last week and absolutely loved the experience! They have a knowledgable and attentive staff, good humored and good natured as well. A huge selection of fish, tanks, and supplies for aquascaping! I love natural looking fish tanks and this is definitely the place to get your plants, your woods, your rocks - everything you might need to create a happy little habitat for your fish.

I planned to buy my daughter an aquarium for Christmas, and was actually kind of apprehensive about it. Upon entering the store, and seeing all their beautiful fish, I forgot all about my apprehension. Their selection is unparalleled in the area, and fish appear to be well looked after. The employees were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. There was absolutely no pressure to buy anything. We drove over an hour to get to The Fish Hut, and will be driving back soon to pick out our first fish. It's well worth the drive.

Look at these beauties found these black rams over at fish hut had to purchase them all Reasonable priced also. And they do have some nice plants. Sometimes you find some thing you weren’t expecting to find at your LFS. I got that tiger lotus there also. They do have a decent plant selection to it’s nice getting plants from there you don’t get them melted in the mail and they’re already converted also is nice.

This place is immaculate! I had a wonderful first time experience which led me back there three times this week. Jon JR helped us with a lot he was very knowledgeable and patient. I felt educated and confident before leaving. I will definitely making more visits here. My tank has been up for 4 days and it’s beautiful.

I was referred to the Fish Hut from a co-worker and man did you guys not disappoint! The selection of fish here is unbelievable, and the staff is super knowledgeable and friendly. My boyfriend and I went to the Fish Hut by recommendation from Gursday at Exotic Pets and we are so happy we did! We brought an empty tank looking to outfit it with everything we needed. Chris and Jim were so attentive and got us everything we needed. They told us how to get the tank ready and care for the fish once we have them. Can't wait to go back next week and get our fish!

This is best aquarium shop in Northern NJ. They have tons of beautiful healthy fish. Their staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful to assist different levels of fishkeepers.This store have a great selection of aquarium supplies from soft and hard scapes. Filters, food and good deals on aquariums. I recently purchased a beautiful piece of driftwood to scape my tank (see pic) as well as most of my fish. I am very satisfied with my purchases. This is definitely my go to spot.

We just recently gathered fish tank supplies elsewhere for our daughters and heard of the Fish Hut of NJ from someone else who had little ones. They said this is like going to an aquarium for anyone with kids - and they were right! Not only was it a fun trip for my girls, but Sam helped us out and answered all our newbie questions while giving us great guidance on our next steps. We were able to add a really great AT-AT Walker for our Star Wars loving girls! HIGHLY recommend for newbies or veterans!!

The store is awesome!! Much to choose from. Great costumer service I’d recommend it. The prices aren’t always the best but the costumer service and quality makes up for it. They also never give bad information. I’ve gotten over 16 tanks from them and hundreds of fish. Never had a problem!

Just want to give a special shout-out to my man Hendrick. I came in on a Friday night around 6pm and he took the time to not only give me helpful advice on how to start my tank, but he did it with a passion and was more than happy to help me throughout the whole process. He ended up helping me till they closed at 8pm and gave me numerous helpful tips. I’m glad I came across this store! I was able to get all the supplies I needed for my new tank. The staff is very knowledgeable. They provided me with amazing tips and options. The prices as well are great and they have such a diverse collection!

The staff was knowledgeable. I purchased a tank stand and canister filter and other items. I was searching for a stand and this was one of the only places that had one. However, it was a floor model and even though I spent $400 and the floor model had scratches, they would not discount the price. I think the prices are high, but I needed it the same day so I still purchased. I’m hoping if I repeat my business that they honor my loyalty. The store was recommended by two other stores.

I looked up some places and set out to check out Fish Hut of New Jersey .. was a hit for me 🤪they had every fresh water fish I had ever wanted and could not find (Dubois cichlids & red bishop cichlids rare tropheus finds was super stoked I took two hours making decisions with SO MANY HOT OPTIONS . was super happy with my lucky 7 Dubois cichlids went back the next day for some more fish :)

Best Fish Store I've ever been into , loved the people the fish and the atmosphere , definitely a 10/10

You pull up to the parking lot and you see this normal store front thinking it’s just another fish store. You open the door play door And you immediately are greeted with hundreds of beautiful tanks with thousands of incredible fish. Then you are greeted by one of the caretakers of these thousands of fish, my caretaker was Jon Junior. I struggled around the store for about an hour just taking in all the amazing varieties of fish. Jon jr came up to me once again and said when you’re ready let me know. He was knowledgeable, courteous, personable and made you feel very comfortable...... I came from Freehold almost an hours drive and it was worth every minute. I purchased some shrimp two made it one didn’t and I think that was due to my water. I’m looking forward to the next time I visit this amazing store.

Fish Hut of NJ is definitely one of the best out there when it comes to providing us fish lovers with everything we need. May it be the fishes themselves, food, cleaning services etc.. All of which to make the dear fishies happy, as well as us owners. I am really lucky to have found this place and I will be coming back again soon. What a nice store! We're setting up a 10 gallon and Dylan was very helpful in making sure we set up a healthy tank. They have a huge selection and I was happy to see it is very clean inside. I really enjoy going to this store. The staff there is so friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Jon Jr. has been helping me to set up and maintain a healthy fish tank.
